Homestyle Pizza Schenectady Reviews
2nd time ordering. It must get better each time. Had it delivered, was a bit late had to call. But everyone should know, you know its done fresh the longer u have to wait. Delicious and girl on the phone very friendly. Delivery driver very friendly. Pizza and wings soooo good. Great business.
We had a good time talking to the owner, there is no in house dining but they hope to have renovations done by October. We had a 12 cut Sicilian pizza, and my sister also got a cannoli and a M&M cookie. Everything was fantastic.
Great food - the wife and I have been weekly regulars for years. The pizza is excellent, and the wings are some of the best in the region. We also enjoy the Chicken Parm and the Fettuccini Alfredo. Recently, due to COVID, we purchased a $200 thanksgiving dinner here, as we weren't traveling to spend the holiday with relatives - it was absolutely fantastic, and we got probably a dozen or more meals out of the deal.
We ordered for pick up, this evening, for a work event. The nicest most patient person, Raffay, took my order, and made me feel so confident that the order would be just what we asked for. His recommendations were spot on!! Thank you Raffay!!
Homestyle has been one of my family top Go-To restaurants for take-out, family parties and catering ever since I was a Freshman in high school over 30 years ago ! Over that long time period I have only received excellent service and quality. That is no easy feat. Homestyle is part of our family best memories 😊
The brunette host was grumpy, but the blonde server was pleasant. She more than made up for the visit. The pizza was perfect and the wings crispy and saucy. Definitely worth another visit. Thanks again.
The staff could not be nicer! And their delicious food only makes it that much more enjoyable. They make red sauce just like my grandmoms and I can't get enough of it! Favorite spot to eat on Saturdays at the Colonie market.
I'm giving 5 stars even though i did not receive a utensil with my salad this delivery. I have ordered multiple times from here and I will not go anywhere else for a lunch salad. Keep up the good work!
My mother and I had a wonderful experience at the newly renovated Ritz. Tony and staff were top notch. Our food was amazing delicious and we will most definitely return. I highly recommend this restaurant!!!!
Everytime I visit Schenectady, Homestyle is my first stop when I arrove and my last stop on the way to the airport. Their pizza tastes exactly the same every single time. When I was there the other day I got the first two slices of the day! They were scalding hot and ready to do serious damage to my mouth but I didnt care! See you next time!
Stopped by with my family on our way to New Hampshire for vacation. Loved the renovations. Truly an elegant decor. Our food was wonderful. My mom and dad had the clam chowder which was loaded with clams. My chicken parmigiana sandwich was delicious and huge. I took half to go. Our server was prompt, courteous, and always had a smile on her face!
Decided to get take out. Absolutely horrible. The price for 2 people was $60. Could have had a gourmet meal. Pasta fagiole had hard carrots in it. Disgusting. Pizza not edible. Can't beat Perrecas.only hope cookies and cake bring us a little pleasure. We won't be back.
Amazing experience, food was amazing, staff was exceptional: our waiter was named Amy and was very personable and delivered great service. Will definitely be back!
Best burger and fries, too. I order every week from Homestyle. Great food, great service, great Menu. There's something for everyone here, and the biggest wings cooked to your spec's.
I have been getting "take out" from Home Style for many years. We love the home cooked Lasagna and Eggplant Parmesan served with plenty of sauce and their own Italian bread rolls baked in their brick oven. We have served small luncheons through their catering service. That always is a hit. One day a few years ago I discovered I was just crazy over Home Style's Chicken Cacciatore. I always order a half tray so that I can put some in my freezer. Every winter we take individual servings of cacciatore with us when we go skiing and stay at a B & B. We can just heat it up in their microwave. It always comes with plenty of rolls or a loaf of Italian bread. We also enjoy the Cacciatore at all times of the year.
Pulled in randomly for lunch - never heard of or seen the place, as I'm in Latham. Had a hard time choosing which slice to get (they all looked great!) but ultimately settled on the Bacon Mac n Cheese slice. It hit the spot! And for only $3.78 after tax... I'll be back! They also have bottles of wine for sale which is pretty cool and uncommon in this area.
This family owned eatery has been a community go to restaurant for at least three decades. Watching the business go from a “pizza shop” at the corner of Union and Van Antwerp street to it’s current fine dining and catering business in its new location has been a fantastic example for all local small businesses. Through all of the iterations, they have maintained their roots of the high quality quick in and out pizza shop. Their current configuration of fine dining, pizza and Italian food and sandwich pick up and delivery and catering operation under a single roof is well designed and functions flawlessly. Homestyle will be the neighborhood go to for generations to come!
Great family restaurant. Great food always.
The Tomato Fresca pizza is so freakin good! I don't eat meat anymore and this pizza absolutely won me over, this is some gourmet food. Whoever their chef is coming up with the recipes is crushing it. The staff knows how to execute on these recipes too. The cold next-day refrigerator pizza is so good, it convinced my friend to start going here. For those pizza nerds out there: - Every pizza I've ordered has a cheese anchor, you aren't going to bite into a slice and just have the cheese slide off. - The slice is a bit thicker than a NY slice, but it isn't anywhere near the thickness of a commercial slice. - The crust is so good! It is substantial in that it gives you something to hold onto when you are eating, but it isn't that lifeless edge of the pie that you begrudgingly eat because you can't come to terms with throwing out food. The crust is actually pleasant to eat.
I come here with a group of friends almost every Thursday, I never have a problem with the food, absolutely love the taste, and presentation, today I had the Bacon Cheddar Burger, I'm not much for Onions and Pickles so I go without those, Tomatoes and Lettuce are set to the side for you to set on the burger yourself, and the burger was well done, the fries were perfect, I reccomend this, and my regular, the Chicken Alfredo Pizza to anyone who orders from here, the Calamari Appetizer is very reasonably priced for the amount provided as well, another regular order I make, love it, just love it. On a side note, the staff, owner, and the restaurant itself are top notch, love coming here, not sure about all the negative comments on here, I've been coming here for almost a year now, and will continue to for years to come!
This place is always busy for a reason. Well worth the wait and they also have a very nice hot food window to walk in and buy on the spot. We have tried the pizzas, calzone, stromboli and salads, and as of last night some entrees/pasta, and they have all been great! The dessert selection is also nice.
Amazing atmosphere and food to match the unbeatable service. Nichole, Syleena, Bella, and Amy are all amazing service specialists and paired with the ambience and the impeccable menu, The Ritz will always have a memorable place in your weekly experience.
We had the Christmas dinner take out offer. This was a great deal price wise and the meal was delicious. Courteous service ordering and picking up. Highly recommend.
You can buy by the slice by the pie or by the dish. Food is excellent
My family enjoyed Homestyle's prime rib dinner special for Christmas which was completed with plentiful side dishes of homemade mashed potatoes, caesar salad, delicious Italian roasted vegetables, rolls, butter and Italian cookies and cannoli for dessert. The prime rib was absolutely delicious with the au jus gravy provided. There was enough for another meal today. Everything was cooked perfectly. My compliments and thanks to Anthony and his staff.
Picked up food for work lunch of 25 people. Many options to choose from. Easy ordering, pay on pick up, rescheduled day with no problem. Shallow tray portions were generous so that we had leftovers. Received bag of 30 warm rolls. Also, no worry of spillage in the car or carrying, each tray was clean on the outside and packed in a heavy duty box for safe carrying. I marked food 4 stars b/c it was not the same as their restaurant quality but that is to be expected. Cost was $12 per person.
Recently hosted a party and received exemplary service from Anthony. He was helpful with choosing items, flexible when we made changes, communicates clearly and responds to phone calls in a timely fashion. His team delivered on time. We called numerous catering services and his service was second to none. Thank you, Anthony!
Our family has been ordering from here for years. Really tasty pizza and we also love their family meals like the penne a la vodka!
Pizza was a little colder than what I expected when it was served, but it made up for it with the sauce! Absolutely wonderful staff, and atmosphere. Would recommend.
So the food is just as I remember. Excellent pizza, definitely a buffalo style pizza medium thickness, the round pizzas lean more New York. The front end has been completely retooled and is now called the Ritz... Quite frankly, I longed for the days when they were on the other side of the road, next to the photography shop, and the new stand. But I suppose you can never go home.
The wings are SO GOOD! They give you the dipping sauce on the side and make them extra crispy. The pizza is a fair 4.0 with nothing spectacular to brag about. The prices are slightly high in my opinion, but definitely worth the visit.
We love this place! Their counter staff is friendly and good natured. My boyfriend likes to joke with people and they took him all in stride. Their food is well prepared, if not a slight bit over priced, and their pizza truly is the best Upstate NY has to offer. I had a hankering for a Cobb salad last night and was hesitant to order a salad from there, having not been happy with one I ordered months ago, but I'm glad I decided to give it another go. This salad could easily feed 3-4, and is jam-packed with all things Cobb salad! Fresh bacon pieces, tender grilled chicken, perfectly ripe avocados, and just the right amount of bleu cheese crumbles. My boyfriend opted for the KC Delight Panini and enjoyed it thoroughly. A bonus for us: this place is in walking distance from the house. Make sure you add this to your trip if you're ever int he Schenectady area!
The pizza is good but I was shocked when I got one rice ball to go and it was $10.80. I thought it was a mistake and asked, and they said the price was correct. That is outrageous. There was nothing special about it.
I was there to pick up documents a friend left by mistake. Plenty of pizza in the warm case for slice orders. I picked up delicious garlic knots. Plastic booth seating available, as well as outdoor seats sometimes. I didn't get that visit; but pizza is some of the best around. Other Italian dishes available; but this is a pizza joint.
Called ahead to order 2 dinners, person on the phone was rude. Wait for the food was 30 minutes, got there and wait an extra 20+ minutes twiddling my thumbs. Food was average with some pretty watery sauce that was sold as “creamy” on the menu.
The staff was very friendly and the restaurant is clean, but the food was really lacking seasoning. Nice presentation though, and good value for the money. I do appreciate the off street parking
the food was nice but the dishes had some specks here and there, I'd recommend ordering take out to avoid the issue and have a great experience
UPDATE! About a month ago, on a Saturday, i ordered a meatball calzone and it was extraordinary! It had a crispy crust topped with a variety of tasty seasonings. It was so delicious that I proceeded to order the same thing 3 Saturdays in a row. I EVEN TRIED TO CALL TO SAY HOW GOOD IT WAS After being on hold for 10 minutes, it was obvious no one would talk with me. Then, sadly, the Sat. Meatball calzone that I loved went BACK TO ORDINARY. Still good, but no longer exceptional. We are very loyal long term customers. I'm sharing my experience in the hope the "special meatball calzone maker" will come back. Thanks. Best food available! Terrific management.
After many years patronizing your restaurant I got a terrible pizza tonight. It was a 6 cut and it was so burnt and dry. I picked it up on time and was very disappointed. I feel like I paid $26.00 for a slice of pizza.
I used to order from here quite often. The food has always been decent. The last time I ordered I found a hair from the lady who made my food in my salad. Grossed me out and haven’t been back since. They need hair nets.
This was my first time at homestyle and It is very unlikely that I will return. The food was mediocre, not worth the long wait.( we had a few slices, soups and eggplant). The table service was very slow, it took almost 25 minutes to get coffee (it seemed they may have been understaffed ) and I did not like the fact that even if we were just grabbing a quick slice and cup of soup from the counter we had to wait for a waitress unless we were taking it to go.
Disappointed. Ordered a $95 office lunch and was quickly called back and told that the total was calculated wrong and that it would cost more. Okay, that happens. But when we received the order we found out our 24-cut pizza was entered in as a 12-cut but the bill wasn't adjusted. Bellies as empty as the petty cash box. Won't be doing that again.
Got my delivery without the soda i ordered, called them and they said oh yeah thay was a mistake on our end we didnt add the soda to your order. So i went over pricing cu it didnt sound right. Mind you they asked if i wamted to put a tip on the card for the driver and i saod yes 10 bucks. So now in the end, i have to wait for a re-delivery of my soda and they charged me a 5 dollar delivery charge thay thwy never even mentioned to me. Wtffff so baiscally i paid 15 bucks to deliver right down the street
Very dissapointed with this business as of lately, ordered pizza twice, very dry and overcooked. Ordered steak sandwich and i was sick soon after. I used to recommend this place as i actually grew up eating from there. I probably won't be returning unless i go when it opens early in the am. It truly hurts me to write this because i always rooted for Homestyle. Wish you guys the best.....
This place has gone downhill. I paid $12 for an uninspired panini that may as well have had rubber on it and came with nothing. Extremely over priced. Not to mention when I walk in the guy behind the counter is on the phone screaming at someone across the lobby. Not very “welcoming.” I won’t be coming back.
Very Very expensive. I bought a 6 cut pizza with cheese and Pepperoni and 10 mild chicken wings 47.00 and gave a 5 dollar tip for delivery. Food was good but 53.00 ? To expensive
Just called twice at 8:15pm (close at 9pm) and hung up on both times without saying a word... They now hire these lazy high school/college kids who don't have an ounce of work ethic. I remember when good members of the community worked there. But, no more. It's sad.
Ordered a 24 cut pizza at 5pm for delivery on a Saturday . I was told it would be delivered at 6:15, not an issue as that was when we were hoping it would arrived. The pizza was 45 min late, delivered at 7pm. This was especially disappointing as we were hosting a party.
I was very generous with 2 stars. I tried to go back and change to 1 star but the system would not allow the change. Assured their 24 cut cheese pizza would be thick Sicilian style, I went ahead and ordered it. Disappointingly, it was thin, expensive AND extremely salty.
Arrived at the Home Style Pizza excited to enjoy dinner with my family. Once we went inside it took over 10 minutes for the waitress to ask us if we wanted to be seated. Once we were seated, waitress didn’t take our order until 20 minutes later. As we waited to be served, I watched other people getting upset of the lack of service they also received that evening. They should work on training their staff a little better to attend to customers faster – all we heard were excuses about why she forgot to place our order or why drinks refills were forgotten. My family loves their food but they have to make some changes and with there current services . Maybe new management ?
Homestyle Pizza: Meh, at best. Homestyle has consistently fallen short of expectations. The food is consistently mediocre – bland, uninspired, and thrown together with little care. While I've been a customer for a while, recent experiences have been particularly disappointing. A recent order for a student party arrived over half an hour late, throwing off our entire schedule. To make matters worse, the quality didn't justify the price tag – we spent over $70. Today's order, a Buffalo Chicken Wrap, was a complete letdown. The chicken was flavorless, the blue cheese dressing lacked any punch, and the lettuce was old and dry. The tomatoes were paper-thin and tasteless, and there was an absolute lack of spice. They also disregarded my husband's request for no tomato on his sandwich and to put the dressing on the side. To top it off, the customer service at Homestyle is also lacking. The staff are often unfriendly and unhelpful. Overall, Homestyle is a place to avoid. There are far better pizza options out there that offer both quality and value, and provide better customer service.
An extra star since we’ve been lucky in the past but our recent visit was disappointing. We ordered a pie (listed on their menu) as a standard specialty and they just made a cheese pizza. When calling to let them know they only offered to redo the pizza if we were to travel there again and pick up. Not the best customer service when they made the error. Fortunately the app we ordered through refunded us for the wrong pizza made and charged. We won’t be returning again.
It wasnt ready when i got there. They were clearly behind. Eventually Was given a pizza that was not completely cooked. Won't be going again.
Purchased 8 cut cheese and order 10 wings mild. Cost about $42.00. Everything is a little expensive, I get it. What I don't get is paying an expensive bill for "just ok" food and super late delivery. Placed the order at 6:30 and was told 30 minutes. We'll, called back 7:30, 1 hour later and told well all our order running late. The food arrived and the pizza absolutely cold and the thinnest crust ever, even the edges were thin. The wings, also cold, with a dry over cooked coating, barely any wing sauce ever, and a cup of blue cheese that was half full, if that. I guess "shrinkflation" has taken hold with blue cheese at pizza joints as well lol. Lousy quality, late order, and and a perceived "oh well" position from the staff maybe it's no surprise more and more recent reviews are less favorable. Lastly when the wings and pizza looks nothing like what is on the menu you cannot expect positive reviews.
I'm very disappointed, I stressed that my pizza be lightly cooked and how I don't like burnt pizza. Guess what, burned again. This is like the second time!! Like I don't get it, why don't people listen. We're starving so we are going to eat it, I did call back and report it. Their pizza used to be so good, you didn't have to specially order lightly cooked pizza. I don't go as often as I have because of this. I got a $10 credit I should've gotten a free pizza for a next visit, we'll see how it works next time or it's gonna be the end of my business there. I've been going there since I was a teenager!! Used to brag about them, not any more. This has happened one time too many ☹️.
$12 for a rice ball ladies and gentlemen. My family and I have been coming here for years because the food is worth it. But I was astonished today. One serving of beef stew and two of these small rice balls was $41. I even asked for my receipt and verified with the owner that the Rice balls were $12 each. And he said yes without hesitation. What a sad state of affairs in this country when it's not just the government who is ripping you off, but your favorite restaurants as well.
I asked for extra sauce on my pizza and my pizza was dry. I like my pizza with sauce I’m pissed. The wings were good I asked for extra sauce on them too cause I like my wings saucy. I called them up and they said they can give me $2-$3 off next time. I said no I will never order from you again. $56 for some dry pizza with no sauce. I was beyond pissed I threw the pizza away🤦🏽♀️.
I paid $15 for a turkey sub, slimy deli turkey- also, the cheddar on it was shredded cheese. The girl taking the order should have told me they did not have sliced cheddar. Also, they advertise their "gourmet" food, but they are serving deli turkey. Also for a small cookie, to find out after I paid it was $4. For a dry, small cookie. Very disappointed.
I base all my decisions off of reviews, but never take the time to write them. This experience prompted me to. My order with Homestyle Pizza was absolutely terrible. I called and specifically asked what was on the Chef salad because there is no description on their menu. When told, I said absolutely no olives on either of our 2 salads and ranch dressing, 2 pieces of cheese pizza and a slice of eggplant parm. My husband picks it up and said the manager was so rude to the 3 girls working there. Almost refuses to take our Discover card because he 'prefers' not to. Husband brings home the salads, both with olives. For $15, I want what I ordered. I called back, same girl answers the phone. I hear her say Anthony she says she said no olives. He says tell her it will be an hour. I proceed to explain this was not my mistake. He was great about bringing us 2 new salads without olives in 10 minutes. I go to sit down and eat it, and they are both blue cheese dressing, which I hate, not ranch. Long story, not so short - I am eating an extra piece of cheese pizza that came in our order, which I probably paid for since they screwed up my entire order. We will never go back. In times like these we especially try to support our local restaurants who are able to stay open, but certainly will not be supporting ones that treat their staff and and customers so rudely.
I want to say that I am a fan of Homestyle, The food is always hot n always good. If there was a problem you delt with it. I feel like I’m a good costumer and I don’t like to complain but, The last couple orders were not on point, I asked for no cheese on a hot sub n it came with cheese ( my dad is allergic and I specifically said no cheese because he is allergic) . This last order I ordered fettuccine Alfredo w/ chicken n broccoli.... there was 2 pieces of chicken. I’m a bit disappointed cuz I really like Homestyle! I’m probably gonna keep giving you guys chances cuz that’s just me, I just hope for less disappointment 😁 So, it’s been a while and I decided to go back today. I ordered a simple roast beef n Russian sub with American cheese…$17 later n no cheese this time (smh) I don’t know how u stay in business! I’m all done! It wasn’t even busy! You def don’t care about your customers!
Worst pizza in the capital area. I really don't like the sauce or the Sicilian style pizza they serve. Food is always greasy, and the waiter and waitresses always seem in a rush, or pissed off. Take a ride to Central Ave instead and visit La Famiglia for amazing NY style pizza. I really don't understand the allure to this place; the food is not good and fresh, the wait staff is angry all the time... Not a place I would ever recommend to friends or family. But just like that commercial, some people love bad things. Like bad pizza made by someone who doesn't have a clue what sauce and Mozzarella is. You have been forewarned.
Why are businesses getting into politics! Eating establishments especially should not be advertising (at their counter no less) what presidential candidate they are supporting. It’s really sad that a local, family business would take a such a stance.
I ordered takeout through Grubhub on Friday and it was absolutely awful. When the food arrived, it was cold. The pizza's toppings had completely slid to one side. The best thing about the order was the mozzarella sticks, which are pre fab! The pizza had little pieces of paper in it, and tasted so terrible that it was actually inedible. My boyfriend and I both tried to eat it, and gave good effort, but it was disgusting. I asked for extra dressing, and they instead included none. I attempted to contact the company for a refund but I have not gotten a reply from them. I will never order from them again.
We went here a few days ago, I hate to leave a bad review, but I feel others should be warned. Ok, so for two pizzas and two sodas it cost $50....which is OK for really good quality pizza, I'd expect to pay that for good pizza, that was not the case with this place. The pizza was so soggy it was as if they dumped water on the crusr. The cheese was not melted all the way and it had mountains of cheese on it. If you've ever made pizza with a toddler, you know how they just throw cheese piles everywhere? That is exactly how our pizzas were made and I'm not even kidding. It was so gross we could not finish the food. I've eaten pizza all the way from NYC to California, and have never eaten such bad pizza before. With that sad the staff was very friendly and the place was clean, they just don't know how to make pizza.
I placed an order from there Homestyle website and called to follow up 1.25 hours later. At first they told me that they couldn't find my order and once they did, they told me it would be an additional 1.5 hours for delivery (of our subs) because they were busy. They acted like we were a brand new order and had to go to the end of the line vs. apologizing and sending our order right away. If you're looking for poor customer service, this is surely the place to order from.
Ordered a Cobb salad Italian mixed sub waited 45 minutes to pick up got home to find a container of lettuce with dressing and a sub with 3 slices of meat and lettuce tomato drenched in dressing called home style and replaced the Cobb salad with no chicken. This makes the third time ordering from them messed up orders and simply bad business and bad food out the door. You should find a new profession
Pizza's taste was good ish. Wanted pizza well done. Scale 1 to 10. Was a 2 on being properly cooked, the way we asked it to be. Had to cook for another 15 mins after getting home. Also, got wings and they asked if we wanted the sauce on the wings or the side. This should have been clue #1 we were going to be disappointed. Granted we come from Buffalo but come on Schenectady. Finally, we asked for crispy wings. Then asked they be cooked extra crispy and these wings were loose at best. Idk what I have to say in Schenectady to make these pizza places understand, but all of Schenectady is being deprived of good pizza and wings. Shame!
Home Style's pizza is over priced and extremely overrated. We ordered the tomatoe basil pizza along with mild wings and were very disappointed. We were told that the tomatoes and basil leaves are considered extra toppings which makes no sense because we were literally ordering The Tomatoe Basil Pizza. The pizza was cut disproportionately and they gave us BBQ sauce instead of Buffalo sauce for the wings which were also very salty. I would not recommend this place, you are better off going to I Love New York across the street.
I have eaten at Home Style for years and Coleen is excellent HOWEVER the quality of food has really went down. I just received a chicken salad for lunch from them and the salad was near raw. The chicken was very pink and some still had blood. I called in and the first guy was rude and then talked to a joe or paul that said he was part owned and he apologized and said he would give me a credit towards next visit. I said no thanks since this was unacceptable. "The chicken was cut into strips so who ever cut it could see it was raw, so if they did not care anymore than that...do they even clean the knives and counters". I know help is hard to find but we are talking about raw chicken!!!! I told him I did not want a credit just wanted to let him know and he said ok and hung up. So beware.
$10 for cup of soup and tiny little piece of tomato pizza. Why no seating in Homestyle? I wish I went somewhere else for a quick lunch on workers break.
Inconsistent. Left my parents waiting 2 hours and told them well sorry we’re busy. Had to throw out two meals cause it was all garbage. They didn’t care. Never again. My parents were ordering from them a lot lately. Not anymore. UPDATE! figured it’s been a while so I tried them again. Ordered two Stromboli’s 20 wings and an antipasto salad. It’s was like $90. The strombolis were tiny. Maybe 8” x 3 1/2. The wings were ok and the salad is a salad. Lesson learned again I guess. Never again.
Way, way, way overpriced. Did I mention how expensive it is? Sad, I used to love this place.
Horrible customer service. Subpar Food I Ordered Family size Chicken Luis for delivery waited over an hour for our dinner to arrive with NO CHICKEN just penne and tomatoes. I honestly found it hilarious until called so I have my order corrected and was placed on hold over three times by an extremely rude young lady who couldn’t find my order because for some reason they decided to put the order under my husband's name/Number being lazy. She than told me that I can have it made over but forget its a Family size meal and puts me on hold again to talk to the manager. When the lady back on to than AGAIN ask me for my phone number to just get attitude with me and tell me to just use my husband‘s phone number because the number were the similar her to comprehend. After being placed on hold four times and dealing with an extremely rude cashier, I’m told that I could have the food remade, but it would take an hour at this point. During the entire encounter I was extremely nice and friendly and I offered to pick up the food if it would make it easier also so they could see the mistake. Nope I was told to wait 45 for delivery or have a credit for my next order. So at this point not only have I been waiting over and hour for food, treated like a liar, poorly spoken too and this is the 3rd order I’ve had incorrectly made. I requested a refund and was told “we cant do that its credit and thats it” I explained that not only have I waited hour this is a repeated problem so I wont be eating from here again. I was given the same response. I literally had to get up and go to the restaurant to have my money refunded. Smh the young lady who gave me my refund had a nasty attitude. The unfortunate part is you’d think after I offered to come in and pick up the food this would’ve been resolved and I immediately offered that before the back and forth about the phone number. The worst customer service I’ve encountered in years from the consistent mistakes, Changes to menu daily, Horrible customer service for food that is substandard also trying to force customers to credit mistakes to their next order is simply unacceptable. The food isn’t worth the price and the Customer Service is Horrible. And for those wondering why I kept ordering I mainly ordered sandwich or salads so unless a huge mistake is made It no biggie to me.
Called in order for personal size pizza and burger. Told us to come in 30min. We got there 40min later. Burger wasn't started and pizza was completely burned. Bottom and edges black and cheese totally dark brown. I could have used it as a frisbee. We decided to cancel the burger and left the frisbee pizza after they wanted to charge $17.55 for it. Never again.
late delivery, cold food. Ordered through mealeo now none of the parties say they can refund me, I contacted mealeo and they say they can’t do anything to contact homestyle, I contact homestyle and they said they can’t do anything because I placed the order on mealeo…. I’m faced with a double sided sword here. Wwyd in this situation? This is why my business will stay with Marinos, they’re more flavorful & the food is ALWAYS hot. Homestyle is NOT the one… I coulda done that at HOME.
My family placed $160 order today, the largest cost of that order was 40 wings (half BBQ, half mild). We know they're expensive right now, this is in NO WAY a complaint about the price of the wings. This was a TERRIBLE experience in customer service. They were delivered, we were shorted 10, and there was NO sauce. Not in a separate bag, none. When we called we were told that they would deliver the sauces. But by the time they got here our food would be cold to which the manager told me we should "pop them in your oven". Well Homestyle, if we wanted to "pop anything in the oven" today we would've paid less $ and cooked our own dinner. I questioned the managers solution and his response was, "well we're not sending you another 40 wings. They're too expensive, that's nuts". I understand today was probably very busy, that's part of running a business, functioning well under pressure. It's not our problem that they would be taking a loss to correct their mistake, provide better customer service, and ensure we are returning customers. We should've just waited to get through to Highbridge Pizza, despite how much busier they were, because at least they show appreciation for their customers.
My husband went in an ordered subs last night. Service was very slow, the girl stopped in the middle of making our subs to work on takeout salads. My husband ordered his w out tomato and when he got home there was tomato on his sub, I checked our receipt and it read NO TOMATO in red print. The sub roll was dry and the lettuce was wilted and soggy. What a waste of money since my husband didn’t eat his sub………Subway is better.
Have been a customer for a long time, including large orders for my staff when I worked in Schenectady. Started using mealeo once I moved out of the delivery area for the restaurant itself. Last order only half my food came. Called restaurant and they told me they couldn't tell me how long to get the rest delivered because they were busy. Not prioritizing customers who you have already not followed through for because of other business is not a good way to keep customers. Managers and owners (except Maxine at The Ritz)were rude, unapologetic, and uncaring. Took 2 days for them to get back to mealeo to refund. Only refunded the pizza, so tipped THEIR delivery guy for only half an order. No attempt to make anything right. Never again. Maxine and the young lady who answered the calls- thank you for trying to help us- you're better than your employer.
Paid $19 for a tiny gluten free pizza and it was disgusting. If you’re going to serve something at obscene prices, at least have the decency to make it taste good
After being a customer of Home Style for more than 35 years I went through an experience today and I will not be going back. I encountered a problem with my order and when I called to let them know about what was a serious food quality issue with my order, the owner got on the phone and asked me to bring the food back so he could see the problem. So even though it meant missing lunch, I drove back. Once he saw the problem, he questioned the validity of my complaint. He seemed to imply that I was lying, which I was not. He said he's never seen this problem before and I said that I've been his customer for 40 years and neither had I but I thought he would want to know. He went in the back and came back a couple minutes later, and seemed irritated I was still there. He asked me if I wanted the same food product I had ordered the first time or a refund. I said I didn't want either - and explained what I had wanted and expected was an apology. Which he then begrudgingly gave while continuing to question the validity of my complaint. If he had simply said that he was sorry for serving food that was clearly not up to any restaurant's standards I would have felt better about it. Instead he made the situation worse. It's unfortunate. I took the time to drive back there because that's what he asked me to do. He also told me that he's never encountered this problem but when I scanned the Google reviews I see the same problem occurred at least twice before. Im betting they won't miss my business, but my hope is that upon reflection, perhaps the owner will handle the situation differently next time.
Used to go here for lunch all the time. Tonight the girl behind the counter told me I would have to wait 20 minutes for baked ziti. I said "even if it's right there on the steam table?" I asked for a pound as I have ordered for decades. She looked back confused and held up a container. I said sure. She filled the container 3/4 of the way, maybe 5/8ths. I added a slice of pizza and it came to $17.50. Never going back again. Way over priced. It's the same food they served across the street for a fraction of the price. New location and they think they are a 5 star restaurant. They're NOT!! Home Style Enterprises?? Get off your high horse, you're a mom and pop pizza place.
The last few times I order chicken parm w/ spaghetti. Instead of getting spaghetti, I always get a different type of pasta (rigatoni or linguine) than what I ordered. When I called to tell them, they have an attitude even though they confirm it was spaghetti I asked for. If you cannot give the customer the food they order and paid for, let the customer know. If I wanted something other than spaghetti, I would have asked for it.
Ordered pizza for delivery, and it took 60 minutes to get to me, when they said 40. Then it was charred on the bottom. I called and they said I had to bring it in before they could do anything. I brought it to the store, and they said it was fine, and I could buy another pizza and wait for it to be made. This was several years ago, and I've heard similar complaints from other friends. Don't waste your time!
Honestly one of the worst Italian subs I’ve ever had. There was basically no meat in it — I bit into it and all I could taste was bread. No pepperoni, barely any of anything else. It felt like they just threw it together without caring. Complete waste of money. won’t be back there
My boyfriend and I placed an order for dinner tonight online for pickup. Upon entering the location and appreciating how nice the atmosphere was, my boyfriend approached the pickup desk for our food. Upon receiving the food, the woman who brought it out commented on the tip amount that we had left on the order. Seeing as the tip amount was approximately 15% of our order, this behavior is disrespectful and uncalled for. Not quite sure what more she wanted when it was a pickup order and all she had to do was simply walk to the back and grab the food but if this is common business practice here, I would recommend taking your business elsewhere. Or just don't tip because apparently you'll get treated about the same.
Ordered a six cut cheese pizza and it was over cooked. Arr9ved cool, but on time
This is my second time getting a disgusting batch of Penne alfredo. One time it was watery and have the consistency of milk and water mixed together. I got it today thinking it was a bad day the first time, it has so much parmesan you can’t mix it and the parm isn’t even melted! Overly salty and garlicky. My LAST time spending money here.
Ordered take out the pasta was very over cooked And had the wrong sauce. I had my dinner re made. No better. I called and the manager that was there would not come to the phone. BAD BUSINESS!
Don't order from here. I ordered off the the Ritz Menu and when I asked why my chicken parm sub didn't come with fries the person said dine in only comes with fries. EVEN THOUGH IT CLEARLY STATES ON THE MENU- HOT SANDWICHES SERVED WITH FRIES.
Tried to order food for delivery. I gave my credit card number over the phone. They were having issues on their end. I checked my card transaction and it showed pending. I went to the restaurant to show them the pending transaction. They refused to look. I canceled my order, went to I Love NY (which was excellent). The payment fully processed through my bank. When I went to explain they did indeed charge me, they again refused to look at the transactions, or look through the transactions for the day with their credit card receipts to see if it was processed. $41 for a pizza and knots is expensive! And now they are stealing money from the community. Not to mention a full time working single parent. There are many ways this could have been resolved humbly. The only communication I got, was by request saying in writing they will not refund payment until the banking institution is verified. Just wow.
Pizza (12-cut thick) was under cooked. Too much sauce on pizza (very soupy) and hardly any cheese on pizza. They should have been embarrassed to give this to a customer.
