The Basin Grill Schuylerville Reviews
Grabbed dinner here after a day of kayaking on the Hudson. Awesome food, good service and beautiful views. Live an hour away but would definitely come here again for summer dining
This is a brilliant place serving fine dining food at reasonable prices next to the Hudson River. I can't say enough good things about the food. lobster roll. Beef short rib ravioli. Clams. Buratta. All so good would make bank in Manhattan. Staff is great. And on a late summer evening looking at at upper Hudson River a bit magical.
The place is beautiful! Amazing scenery on the river. The staff is attentive and friendly. The weekly chef created special are to die for! The standard menu is also great. Stop in, you won't be disappointed
The food is great and Don and Henry are Johnny on the spot with fuel at the dock. It's a great place when you're going to or coming from a long day on the water.
We fell in love. The location, the food, the serenity, and the service were all above and beyond. Where else can you be served by Ygritte from GOT who was well in tune with our, take it slow-we had a week vibe, and played along like a Mariah Carey backup singer. We will be back. I think if Jimmy Buffet (R.I.P.) had ever been there, he would have bought the place on the spot.
First off, Lori is amazing and helped us have such a lovely afternoon relaxing on the patio after exploring the national park and historical sites nearby. If you eat here, I hope you get Lori too. Secondly food was good prices and prepared well. The pulled chicken nachos were shockingly delicious as well as The Henry fried chicken sandwich. 12/10 stars. The live music right on the water by the docks is fantastic. Already planning a trip back up from Troy asap.
Great variety on both the food and drink menus! They have a really nice outdoor seating area with a full bar overlooking the river. We sat inside due to the rain but are looking forward to going back and sitting out on the deck. Our server was very friendly and prompt and the food prices were very fair. We left feeling full and wanting to come back!
My wife and I decided to celebrate our anniversary with dinner here. Like the outdoor dining by the water. The service outstanding & staff were friendly. Great menu: we had the Henry a chicken sandwich & pan seared salmon. Food was prepared well & so good. Thanks for a great experience!
Tonight I enjoyed the chicken club and a Sam Adams Summer Ale. We sat in the outside deck area. The tables as well as the deck area was very clean. The waitresses were professional and polite. The acoustic music by Kevin Powers was a great addition. I hope I got the name right. Very happy with my experience
When we walked in the server was at the end of the bar on her phone. 5 minutes later I had to say 'excuse me' to get her attention. The food was good, but pricey for what we got. The atmosphere was quiet as it was a rainy Friday night. Other patrons were talking with normal tones.
Whatever you do do not get the lump crab appetizer. The avocado was perfect, but the crab, which is why it’s so expensive was fishy and not edible. The steak, which is not cheap had a lot of grizzle or fat and was quite chewy. My suggestion would be to get the salmon Caesar salad, which was very good as well as the sweet potato fries and regular fries. The staff is very friendly and nice. I just feel like there’s some items on the menu you should definitely Steer clear of. Obviously, the location of being outside is really nice.
Placed an order for a simple burger...came out wrong. Which ok mistakes happen waited a while during which rest of my party ate their dinners. Only to get told someone else got my order evidently and they had the burger the waitress tried to serve me available if I wanted it. Passed on that ended up eating just the appetizer we had ordered. Did not seem that busy and plenty of staff seem to working. No manager came to the table to try to rectify the situation. Our bill was still 50 bucks for one appetizer two drinks one being a beer and one meal. Better options are out there might have to drive to get to them but not a place I would recommend or return to.
