Dair Circus Scotia Reviews
Pretty good food, and from what I'm told the ice cream is just as great. More of a reason to go back.
Great sundaes, sure, but don't miss out on their wings! Very good event catering from these folks as well.
Wonderful staff good food ,reasonably priced. Great soft ice cream too.
Ordered the upside down split and it was delicious! The service was also excellent.
Friendly people, good food and they have the best ice cream in town! Dont take my word for it, find out on your own.
Best soft ice cream locally and friendly and efficient staff!
Had ice cream there it was good. They looked like they had an impressive food menu as well
Love Dairy Circus! Perfect place to go with the family for a quick bite... and amazing ice cream options - all at a reasonable price!
I am new to Dairy Circus, I never went to the old one. I can say everything I have had there has been excellent, I have heard it is just as good as it used to be.
This is one of my favorite place to eat locally. Great service. Amazing staff. I would recommend all my friends
This was a nice place and the menu was great. friendly and kind servers it was fast and the food was great too 👍
This is my favorite place to get soft serve. Great prices. Portions are pretty big so ask before ordering.
We had Rubens and Cheese Burger all w/ Curly Fries, along w/ 2 Sundae’s. Very satisfied 😊
Dairy circus is always a fun place to eat at, great place to take your friends, your kids, your co workers, etc. I rated Dairy Circus 5 stars because they always make great food and the hospitality is awesome. Dairy circus has been my go to place when I wanted to eat a good meal that was at a good price. I love dairy circus.
The Dairy Circus is a clean, economical place to bring your family or meet w/ friends (that's what I did). Burgers, chicken wings/fingers, sandwiches, eggplant fries w/ marinara sauce - ample choices @ economical prices. Plus a great variety of hard ice cream for cones, sundaes, shakes, or sodas along w/ chocolate or vanilla soft ice cream. Who could ask for more?!?
We really like everything we have tried here so far! The sandwiches are good, we love their fries and the ice cream is yummy! We also love their breakfast sandwiches and home fries!
Great little home town place. Destroyed by a fire a year ago the owners decided to rebuild. I'm so thankful they did! Best potatoe and Mac salad around. Toss salad is amazing with homemade italian dressing. They are even better than ever.
Burgers are fantastic, eggplant fries are delicious. Nothing is bad on this menu. Best milkshakes in town!!!
They have good ice cream here. My staff took me and my friend here for ice cream on April 9, 2021. I could remember the movie: the Place Beyond the pines was filmed here in 2011, and it burn to the ground in 2016, and was rebuilt and opened in 2017
Nice place! We went for lunch. The burgers were good, the macaroni salad was fantastic, and don't order a monster shake a regular size is PLENTY. I didn't realize what I was getting into and ordered a monster shake. Felt like drinking a 1/2 gallon of ice cream. Maybe it was? 🤔 Oh, and make sure you tell them if you'd like LTOP (lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle; for those not up on burger acronyms. Lol) on your burger or you'll just get pickles.
Was in the area and had time , so stopped for lunch. Was pleasantly surprised, the food came out quick and was delicious, good ice cream and staff was very friendly. Will go back!
I got a deluxe cheeseburger with bacon and large fry, with a peanut butter and chocolate shake for dessert! Everything was excellent, if you live in the area 100% worth going to!!
1st time there tonight and absolutely wonderful food and atmosphere! Best place in the area. Delicious food, subs are huge for cheaper than mcdonalds for a family!
Our family was so happy to hear Dairy Circus was reopening and have been back many times. Great new place, nice staff, good food, ice cream. I didn’t even back into the telephone pole.
Love their soft serve ice cream. Wish they had more flavors than chocolate, vanilla, and a twist. But very rich and creamy. No complaints.
My fav is the grilled cheese and bacon and my daughter loves the French fries . We both the ice cream and shakes. Staff is very kind
Love their ice cream, I got the peanut butter dip. I had an amazing turkey club here also, granted I don't live far this is an amazing option for lunch.
Very nice casual dining and the waffle cone was the best. The young ladys working were very friendly . Scotia is very lucky that they have a place like this to grab a light meal.
Good burgers and many other items, especially the potato salad! And ice cream for dessert with the grandkids.
delicious food! assorted menu items will help you decide what is your fancy. very helpful, friendly staff too.
Great ice cream spot with friendly staff. Prices are very reasonable and the place has always been clean.
Best place to get ice cream all year round. Food is always good and at a great price.
Their food and ice cream is very good, 10/10 would recommend. Also they’re better than Jumping Jacks.
I've been going here since I was a kid. While their flavor selection may not be as long as other places, their soft and hard ice cream is delicious. They make a,great banana split too! I've always found the staff to be friendly and helpful.
This place is a hidden gem. I’ve been eating here since I was a kid. Now I mostly get takeout, but the food has gotten even better over the years. Best chicken tenders and fish fry in the area!
This establishment provides great food in great serving sizes that truly is all american as they claim! I have tried a few of the ice cream flavors and they were all quite nice! The seating area is clean and sanitary and the staff are polite. The bathroom is also quite clean!
Plenty of ice cream combination options as well as standard food fare. I had a fish fry and curly fries with cheese sauce (for dipping) and finished up with a cherry sundae on Dutch chocolate hard ice cream (I wish I'd taken pictures, I will next time!) The portions are excellent and the quality is great. I'm sad that I've lived in the area so long and have never made my way over here before now, but glad I finally did because it's well worth it!
Quick service clean dining room quite so you can have an actual conversation
Wonderful place. A part of my childhood growing up, would stop by for a lemon lime slushy everyday after school in jr high and high school. Food is great and consistent. The owner is such a nice kind warm woman and everyone who works there is sweet as can be.
A wonderful little mom and pop diner with delicious food, a welcoming atmosphere and extremely friendly staff. Had I had the opportunity, I would have eaten there multiple times during my visit. Unfortunately circumstances prevented me. If ever there was a name to good, clean, delicious fast food, it'd be Dairy Circus.
Great family owned ice cream and food restaurant. They have many different flavors of both hard and soft ice cream. My favorite is a hot fudge sundae with coconut ice cream. Their portions are large. They also have a great selection of breakfast sandwiches and lunch/dinner items. The fried fish special looked very good. The restaurant burned to the ground a couple of years ago and they just reopened in a new building at the same location. They aren't open Sundays yet but they plan to be soon, so check before you go on a Sunday.
All items are a la cart. Even so, great price for huge portions! The staff was nice and accommodating.
Staff is always friendly and helpful and you get your food within 10 to 20 minutes. I love their breakfast specials. I 100% recommend them.
Best little eatery around. It's always immaculately clean. The girls are friendly. All the food is delicious and they have great prices. Cheese fries, OMG, SO DELICIOUS! Love it there!
Food was excellent. Interaction with the employees was even better than the food. Great little hidden gem. Can't beat the prices and quality of the food.
There is no place on earth quite like the Dairy Circus for me, it reminds me of a place called Joe's Dairy Bar from my youth, except indoors. Similar type of menu as Jumping Jack's, but much more reasonably priced. I highly recommend for breakfast or lunch
Been going here since I was a kid. Rob and Doreen are really nice. Grilled cheese with bacon and tomato tastes just as I remember it over 30 years, ago. Great for breakfast as well. Always had breakfast there before school started. Ham,egg, and cheese sandwich and coffee.
This was my 1st time here and i enjoyed myself. It is sort of a historical site of filming of "the place beyond the pines". I am new to the area and never been to a diary circus or haven't seen this movie. Upon investigating I learned the dairy cirus burned down and was rebuilt since the movie. Very interesting little place to say the least. Food was great!
Great place for family to grab a bite. My wife and I are very happy they decided to rebuild after the fire. The kept the original feel but it is more modern and brighter but the same good food and ice cream.
Dairy Circus offers the best of both worlds with both soft and hard ice cream. For our family that's important because we each have our preferences. Their food is better then you'd expect from a roadside ice cream spot and they even offer a yummy breakfast up.
Dairy Circus is definitely a staple in the Scotia community. So glad they were able to rebuild after the fire. Food, prices and service are excellent. Definitely a great spot, for a quick bite to eat!
Had lunch today with my 2 grandsons. Nice, VERY clean restaurant. Staff is super friendly. Food cooked to order making it fresh and tasty. We enjoyed our meal and the friendly atmosphere.
My daughter and I took a ride over to get ice cream, she had never been. The ice cream was so so good!! The staff very sweet and efficient. The place very clean and welcoming. We sat indoors which was so cool on a very warm April day. I noticed signs up that gave notice to people to behave and that obnoxious behavior would not be tolerated!!!! FINALLY a business/people who are not afraid to say, this is how you will act in thier place of business. Thank you.
Dairy Circus is a great food spot for you and your family. They have awesome soft serve ice cream with all your favorite toppings. And the food is really good. Not to mention it is super clean and the air conditioning is nice too. Go check it out now!
Best priced food ever, flat out. Really large portions, high quality food, fast serve time. Perfect mix between restaurant and fast food. Staff are always really nice and funny, and always happy to see you. Only thing to say is that it could use some comfy booth seats.
Went here with two of my favorite people on a weekday in the early evening for ice cream. Plenty to choose from. Although we didn't get lunch or dinner type foods, they had a pretty large menu to choose from for that too. Would recommend trying if you're in the area or looking for an ice cream place.
Ya can't go wrong with whatever you get. Today was French toast and bacon. Delicious! Stopped for a burger and fries tonight. Sooo good!
This is the ideal small town dinner that everyone hopes for when they walk in. You'll usually see some older guys hamming it up, talking about the day to day stuff or reading the paper. Construction guys stopping in for a coffee and a breakfast sandwich. There are times I'll make the 30 minute round trip just to get breakfast from here. My favorite is the Ham, egg, and cheese on a bagel, with a side of corn beef hash (crisped!). I'll also recommend the malted milkshakes. Pretty much everything here is good and worth the trip. Can't say enough good things about this place.
Dairy Circus turns out both very inexpensive "burgers, fries and shakes" fast food, and sit-down restaurant quality diner type food, also inexpensive. Restaurant was rebulit after a fire a few years ago, so the interior is clean and modern. Staff is awesome and doesn't seem to constantly turn over, which says a lot about the management. What more could you want?
Current hours are that they're open until 8:30 for takeout! And yes they have puppy cones! $4 for mine and Murphy's :) P.s. their breakfast sandwiches are exactly what you're looking for!!
Dairy circus is just amazing. The food is consistently fantastic and the ice cream is always perfect. There's a good reason there's usually a cword here. We'll worth the stop.
What a great place with great food and great owners. Very clean too. Great hangout spot! I took my Fiancée to show her where I grew up going and it still was great!
They have the best milkshakes! Service is fast and food is delectable.
I go for the ice cream🍦chocolate with rainbow sprinkles on a cone, small but almost like a medium 😁 Delicious! My 8 yr old daughter loves the chicken strips and fries. I must say they do taste really good. Great prices for the portion sizes. The owners and staff are very nice. Always greeted with smiles and conversations. Plenty of parking and very clean. Great place!
Stopped by for a cone while I was staying nearby. It was a generous size and delicious!
Delicious ice cream, generous sizes and very friendly staff! Also super affordable especially for families.
Went when I was working in a nearby factory in like 1999. Use to treat myself there on pay day with a monter shake. Went looking for it when I was nearby a couple of weeks ago and was thrilled to see they were still there. The shake costs a little more now, lol. But it's well worth it. Please support small businesses.
This is an amazing restaurant. The food is very good, the service is perfect. The owner keeps the place nice looking and clean. Always cleans the windows, always makes sure the bathrooms are clean, and always makes people leave with a smile and a good experience.
My family just moved into town and we were on the hunt for a good local spot to get lunch and thank goodness we found this place!! The ladies who took our order were so sweet and patient while we stumbled through our order being first time customers. The burgers were phenomenal! And the soft service ice cream was incredible. We will be making this a regular stop for sure!
The food is outstanding and they have daily specials that actually change daily so make sure not to miss out if you see something good. The food is unique for an ice cream spot; the chicken wings are legitimately good, I got apple pie pot stickers that were heavenly, the curly fries are among the best I've ever had. And then we get to the ice cream, I love how the apple ice cream has actual apples in it, same with the blueberry with actual blueberries. If you're feeling up to it, get yourself a monster milkshake, it's like a 32oz beast. Everyone working is very friendly, it's always spotless when I go in. Fantastic food and ice cream joint.
This place is a gem. We went here when the line at Jumpin Jacks was winding through the parking lot. The food here was reasonably priced. We got a deluxe cheeseburger (delicious), a fish fry platter (husband LOVED it), and chicken fingers. The platter came with an entire bowl of coleslaw, which was a pleasant surprise. After dinner we got a push pop, small cone and medium cone. All in all we spent less than $40 for 3 people to have dinner and dessert. We will be going here lots over the summer. There was plenty of seating inside. A line did form after we sat down, but it wasn't out the door. The staff was super friendly. It was a great experience. Highly recommend.
Amusingly, I didn't get any ice cream. Last week I was denied my shot at coming here, but now that they have reopened I got a second chance. My picks for what I wanted did change, but I think it was for the better. Ordered ahead of time over the phone putting in for a Grilled Chicken Salad, a couple Grilled Cheese sandwiches, Curly Fries, and a Fried Dough. All in all before tip I spent $26, a bargin for what I got if I do say so myself. Once home I dug into the meal, unable to resist the call of the grilled cheese, and I found it to be just like mother use to make. An exterior crunch, a cheesy interior, and flattened like a pancake. The pickle chip included with each wedge was a nice touch too, and paired very well. The curly fries I also had to pick on immediately, and they reminded me of the Arby's I use to visit with my old man. Softer than your standard fry, but with a little seasoning and more potato meat in every bite. Of course the salad was my main course and I knocked it out of the park with the Caesar dressing pick, it was the perfect pairing to the more mild vegetables included though I will say the "grilled" chicken was more like 'lightly seared'. And finally, the fried dough! It's not often you can buy fried dough outside of a festival or carnival, but even without the presence of clowns or a whirly cup ride this fried dough was excellent. Airy, a slight crunch, fluffy, and sweetened by the powered sugar alone. I would recommend they add a dash of cinnamon to the powered sugar topping though, since it could do with a tiny bit of spice. Absolutely would make this repeat visit location, as it was inexpensive, has a great selection, and the staff were friendly to boot.
Was looking for a place for ice cream and stumbled on this place. It's easy to drive by (which we did) but glad we saw it because the ice cream was really good. Got cones with soft serve. The people at the counter were nice and the place was clean and would totally come back. They closed kinda early IMO (around 8:30 pm in June on a Saturday), so not there for a late night ice cream fix, but I won't hold that against them as the ice cream was great 😃
I have gotten subs, hot dogs, chicken tenders, burgers, fries, onion rings, and so much more from Dairy Circus and it’s all always been a filling amount of food for the price. Not just the first time you go here but every time, you will totally be drooling because of how good it smells and how delicious everything tastes! The service is always friendly and the restaurant is super clean. The bathrooms are very nice and kept up with. The seating is also very nice. Large wooden booths and regular tables inside along with picnic tables outdoors. I seriously couldn’t recommend Dairy Circus enough!
Been here many times for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Super soft serve ice cream comparable to Bumpy's in Schenectady and The Snow Man in Troy. Burgers and fries are way better than the over-rated Jumpin' Jack's and the prices are fair. Kids love the grilled cheese and fries while I eat the very tasty burgers. They make a terrific milk shake also. The place is newly built and clean. The bathrooms are clean. Bring the family and enjoy!
So glad they decided to rebuild after the fire. As a business who has been in Scotia-Glenville since I was a kid I'm glad it's still here for my grand kids. The new version of Dairy Circus is better then ever. Locals have always counted on Dairy Circus for a wide variety of ice cream products beyond Sundays & cones. The choices exceed what's available on the summer Ice Cream trucks. You can step inside and order something for breakfast, lunch or dinner. While famous for their salads, they aren't always available unless they had a recent catering gig. Photo was taken just before reopening.
While I would rate the ice cream associated concoctions a 5, the rest of the menu is either forgettable or adequate; if not getting dessert, I'd go elsewhere if given the option.
The food is good the workers are nice and you can have your Ice cream too.
Rebuilt community staple that serves fountain drinks, quick order food, and ice cream. Reasonable prices for reasonable quality. Nice occasional summer stop
Great stop for ice cream. I think their ice cream is just Turkey Hill. They have both hard and soft. They also have food inside. Big seating area inside and always busy as a popular family place.
Great local comfort food and ice cream. Friendly staff and tasty food. The chili dog was good, fries were great, and my son loved his cheeseburger. Perfect lunch in the middle of a day of garage sales.
My favorite ice cream place in the summer. Friendly, courteous staff. Food was good. Burgers - meh, but all else was good. A little pricey for what you get. Ice cream is reasonably priced. Nice for a convenient snack, or for ice cream anytime. Renovation looks good.
I'm glad they decided to rebuild after the fire. Clean and friendly atmosphere. Ordered potato salad and although tasty, too many onions. Ordered a bacon hamburger and it was good. Fantastic milk shakes. Think they could hype it up more and get there name out there with some advertisements and daily specials. Overall good. Will be back again.
Nice place for a quick bite and dessert. The staff is OUTSTANDING - very friendly and pleasant. Stopped by with my 8 year-old daughter for ice cream, and decided to have a meal. Burger and hot dog were nothing extraordinary, and the ice cream we had afterwards was pretty good. Spacious seating indoors, and very clean. Decent parking outside. I've noticed crowds during the warmer months, so I presume it's a pretty popular place with folks who live nearby! 🙂
We usually get dinner and save room for ice cream sundaes.
I just grabbed a ice cream sandwich but it looks like they do so much more. I shall return to try some food.
Very little hot fudge in the sundae. Was closed 4th of July weekend. Ice cream place should be open not closed.
They sell Turkey Hill ice cream (which anyone can pick up), but otherwise it's just a good little ice cream and restaurant. Good service.
I liked the old Dairy Circus better. Not that there's anything really wrong with this one but it's like the other one. The seating is all wrong, the menu has changed. There really isn't much improvements, if anything I feel like it went downhill. Just doesn't feel like Dairy Circus anymore. And it's expensive. I miss it... What happened?
Was a huge fan of the old place before it burned down... many a high school afternoon spent there. Was happy to hear they rebuilt and took my bf over for a late dinner. I thought they closed at 9 so we pulled in about 8:00 and the girl at the counter takes our order. Asked if we were eating in or to-go, I stated we'd be eating there and she rings us out. There was another girl cleaning tables and I saw she was giving us the stankiest of stank eyes. As my bf and I sit down, this girl stomps off to the back and I can hear her arguing with the counter girl. At this point something clicks in my head so I whip out my phone and check the closing time... which is at 8. My bf and I feel terrible and go tell the counter girl that we didn't realize their closing time and we'd take our order to-go. When we got the food home, it was nowhere as good as I remembered it. I'd like to go back at some point and try the food again under better circumstances. However my bf was completely turned off by A) the counter girl not saying it was closing and allowing us to place the order as eat in and B) the other girl shooting us nasty looks instead of taking the initiative to tell us it was closing. He won't be returning but I'm willing to give DC one more chance on account of nostalgia.
The burgers were good size and decent quality. The soft serve was okay. Lots of space with comfy booths and good chairs; helpful and friendly counter staff.
Hubs and I order a quick bit. The food was not very good. Tiny burgers on a HUGE bun not very flavorful. Chicken tender were OK. Nothing to bring you back. The soft serve ice cream was Very good. Super creamy. But be wear the peanut butter is not a sauce it's just peanut butter add from a jar. Also there are a lot of up charges on the menu. They do rake cards and the service was very nice and fast. We are inside it was very very clean.
Got takeout for the first time yesterday. Two fish dinners, and the fish wasn’t bad for frozen fish sticks, fries were very bland and inedible. Potato salad was good. It was like getting food at Jumpin Jacks. Overpriced and not very good.
Don't know what happened chicken wings were so dry and fish fry had no taste whatsoever
My friend and I are students at scotia, we come here for lunch and to relax. We came into this establishment today to use the bathroom and sit for a few minutes before we had to go back to class and one of the employees came up to us and said, " if you're not purchasing anything you need to leave." Which i thought was kinda rude. I completely understand if they were busy but today they weren't so they had no reason to kick us out. We were not being disruptive so it was unnecessary.
Prices went up this year on ice cream cones almost 75 cents across the board. Went there 2 days ago and ordered 2 medium soft ice cream cones. The young girl attempted 4 times to make my medium come and finally got it on the 4th time. When she gave it to me, it was the size of a baby cone. For the 2nd medium cone requested, she passed that order to another girl who actually made the correct size. The girl at the counter had an attitude and should not be there if she is not personal or does not know how to swirl correct sizes of ice cream...
