The person on the phone and the cashier at pickup were both very friendly, and the food was great! There was alot of pork in the pork fried rice, lots of vegetables and a great sauce on the garlic sauce chicken, and the Szechuan beef had a great variety of spices and vegetables with a ton of beef.

Do NOT let the outside of this restaurant fool you! Hands down my favorite Chinese restaurant in the area. My two staples from here is the beef broccoli and chicken chow mein. Amazing flavor from both! They are always super friendly and welcoming here and have yet to even have a mediocre experience.

I love this place. I work close by and I think it's the best Chinese food in town. It seems family run, they are extremely friendly the food is great large portions for a good price.

As far as American Chinese places go, this is our favorite on the Santa Cruz side of the hill (shoutout to Panda Inn in Aptos and Chinese Village in Capitola). Kids like the orange chicken best here (not over fried and tangy sauce), the wife and myself prefer the garlic shrimp with green beans and shredded pork in garlic sauce (veggies are outstanding in both). But there are a lot of good american-ised entrees on the menu. When you can get them, the char siu bao are decent if you like steamed buns. I also like their (combo) noodles best, but the rest of the fam are fried rice lovers. So we get both when we come. 👍

Very tasty food, fast and courteous service. Reasonably priced. What you'd expect from a family-owned local Chinese restaurant, but with friendly service provided by a family that's known in Scotts Valley for many years.

Love this little mom and pop Chinese restaurant! I've been going here for years with my family and I've always had a good experience. Great food and friendly service is always consistent here.

Would give them 10 stars if possible. Hunan beef is definitely the best thing on their menu. I eat here regularly and LOVE their whole menu.

C

The chicken they use in the fried rice is SO GOOD. Moist and fresh tasting--I'm so used to gross dry chicken when I eat out so this was a godsend!

This was an amazing luncheon for my daughters graduation party. We had 16 people. and the food was delicious and timely and the staff was exceptional from start to finish. They won us over- we now have a new favorite go-to Chinese food restaurant. I couldn't have asked for a better party! Thanks Mike!

Delicious Chinese food! Definitely will keep coming back. Excellent fast and friendly service. Stopped by on a Wednesday afternoon and there were only 3 other dine-in customers but plenty of pickup orders. The best Chinese food in Scotts Valley!

Good was amazing. Great flavors and great family atmosphere service. Everything was cooked perfectly and super clean. Big portions of food for a family of 5

Ate there on my birthday (Sept.1) with 8 others of my family. First time for everyone. It was all I had hoped for. Classic chinese food as I remembered as a kid. Had 2 different soups and 6 dishes. All were great. We cleaned our plates. Highly recommended.

I freaking love this place. It's a total greasy spoon, but in such a good way. They are so nice in there. The lunch special always come out so fast and piping hot. I love the 5 Flavors Chicken. Super flavorful. Great hot and sour soup too. Family run and everyone chips in seems like. And there's something comforting to me when you go there and hear them screaming in Chinese at each other. And I mean that in a good way. Not screaming mad. Just like, loud. Makes for a palpable and authentic experience. As if you were sitting on a tiny stool in a fragrant alley in Beijing eating something exotic and delicious. Then you realize, you're in Scott's Valley sitting in an old sticky booth looking across at the plumber guy who is also on his lunch break. Fascinating really. So ya, go try the 5 Flavors Chicken. You won't be disapointed.

This is the best Chinese food place I've been to in Scotts Valley. The bbq pork buns were really good. The lemon chicken was surprisingly moist. I usually dont go for filet style lemon chicken because the meat is thin and gets really dried out during frying but this was good and crispy. The sauce was delicious as well. Plus the prices are good. About $9 for the lunch special which was way too much food for me. Service is really good too.

I have been coming here with my family for nearly 20 years! The quality in food is always amazing, and doesn't change. I am so glad to see the good mural is still on the wall and hasn't moved. Some things shouldn't change.

What a great place. I can see why the reviews were so high. It is a simple restaurant with a great menu very reasonable prices and lovely people working there. The food was delicious especially the hot and sour soup! We will be regulars from now on.

My new go to for Chinese in SV. Fresh food, and friendly staff. We ordered the garlic chicken eggplant and Singapore noodles (dinner specials) and won ton soup. Delicious and I can't wait to try more.

Construction contractor working on a project at my house had me go to lunch with him and a worker. They regularly dine here. Extensive lunch menu has reasonable pricing and wide variety. Service was fast, and our meals were great. Large servings. Contractor likes the place also because it has a roomy parking lot with two driveways. He always has large vehicles, often with trailers, and it's easy to park and drive through.

Such yummy good food. Server was super nice and made us feel at home! We got to choose any seat in the house which was fun. Had a great time and will definitely be back.

Easily my favorite Chinese restaurant in the area (and personally of all time). What seems to be a family run business, the staff are super friendly and attentive. Lunch specials are a great value for the price — soup of the day + entree, rice, and egg roll. The lunch menu is big enough to have plenty of choices and the lunch timeframe is quite large, so you don’t have to be afraid of missing out. Best hot&sour soup too! Many thanks to the great crew who know me very well at this point!

I love their food, the owners, and the staff. I have never had a bad experience in 10+ years. 5/5 Update 10/24: their chicken curry is absolutely delicious. As always, their staff is welcoming and friendly (what you get with great santa cruz county locals)

It’s been a while since we’ve ordered take out from here as we don’t eat Chinese food very often. The woman that answered the phone was very nice & friendly. The prices have went up quite a bit since the last time we picked up dinner but what hasn’t these days? The food was really good though & both of my kids enjoyed it too. I was happy to support a small, family owned restaurant.

My family and I ate here tonight, on our last night of vacation. I wish we would have tried it sooner because it is the best Chinese food I’ve ever had. Our server was delightful and very good at meeting our needs. I will come back here some day. The menu has so many wonderful things to choose from and each item is so well prepared and flavorful.

The food was very good. My 8 and 14 year old ate until they had their fill. They serve family style so they are big portions for a family of 4-6 to share. We got a rice dish, noodle dish and 2 chicken with vegetables dishes but different flavors. We had to take some home.

The food was ok and the lunch special was well priced. On the down side it was a little run down looking but it's there if you need some Chinese food and it's still better than Panda Express.

Chef Liu is the best Chinese restaurant in town. Their hot and sour soup is my favorite. Their lunch specials are very reasonably priced and service is quick. The quality can vary from time to time which is the only reason I docked 1 star from the rating.

D
Devonne Johnson

It’s all about these egg rolls. We don’t have amazing show stopping Chinese in SC. It’s just a fact. But for local easy Chinese for a night in on the couch we go to Chef Liu’s for takeout. So comparatively it gets 4 stars bc it’s the one worth going to. We always get the egg rolls. Greasy, but that’s what we expect from our local Chinese food places. Good chow mein and we love the green bean black bean sauce side dish.

J
Janet Thomas

This our goto spot for a fast lunch on the run. The black bean dish has hearty vegetables and usually comes with a small egg rolll and a cup of soup. The hot and sour soup is not my favorite so i ordered the wonton soup to go. A pint of the soup was incredibley fresh and the vegetables were crisp and yummy. It was hearty and delicious. Check them out.

I really like the food at this place. The staff is friendly and attentive. I recommend going in for the lunch specials, totally an excellent deal. The restaurant itself is a little old and worn, but I am not going there for the dining experience, I go there for good food and good service. Definitely give this place a try.

Consistent above average Chinese fair. Lunch menu goes from$8.70 to a little over$10. Chicken Chow Main was huge. Could only eat half. Service is friendly and pretty quick. I'll go back because it's so close to work.

It's a very plain classic Chinese restaurant ambiance but it's far from average. Shockingly good fried rice (we got pork fried rice). Skip the chow mein, I've tried it twice and both times it was bland and a little overcooked. They are experts at cooking broccoli; we've tried both the beef as well as the chicken and broccoli. Their spring rolls are also bomb, made perfectly, nice and crispy and you can tell they aren't using rancid oil like some places. For the fried rice alone I will not go to any other place in the Scott's Valley/Felton area. Nice owners too! Def try this place.

Don't park too long there! The ancient lady will come out and throw a flip flop at you she is straight out of Kung Fu Hustle. Food is good when they finally decide to listen about your food allergies.

Food was ok. Place is really run down. I went there because of the reviews. Hoping the food was as good as the building was runned down. But was disappointed. The person taking the order included his tip on the total price. I don't think this is right. Is a form of stealing. If want to give u a tip then I will. Make sure u get an itemized receipt.

I used to like this restaurant but quality has clearly gone downhill. I ordered cashew chicken, and the chicken still had the skin on, which didn’t happen. The other day, the beef in my beef with mushroom was also much more greasy than before. Both dishes were hard to digest. As positive, service is always friendly. Bottom line, please don’t save on the quality of your product.

So sorry to have to say but this was some of the worst Chinese food I’ve had in years. We ordered shredded pork in garlic sauce and broccoli in garlic sauce. Absolutely no flavor and we weren’t told there was a ton of broccoli in the pork dish which I’ve never seen in all the years of eating this. We threw out 80%of the food. I will go back to try the sizzling rice soup but nothing else. Too bad really as there are so few restaurants around this area.

Just moved to CA. This restaurant had sticky tables, weak ice tea, old white rice, few small shrimp in shrimp fried rice. Waiter didn’t check on us with food satisfaction. It was a big waste of money.

We have been going here for years. The food has always been mesa mesa. People have been very nice. But the recent increase in prices, has left us wondering, are they trying to make the most $$$ they can? And move on? I think so. Too bad. I want to find another Chinese restaurant, who doesn't want to gauge us.

We ordered take out. We were in from out of town and meeting our son & 88 y/o grandma who loves Chinese so we thought we could not go wrong. After reading the reviews we ordered. SIMLY THE WORST CHINESE FOOD ANY OF US HAD EVER EATEN. The spicy green beans were raw, flavorless and awful even after we tried to spruce them up. The chicken in the sweet and sour chicken and Kung pao, was chewy and gristley.. could we not eat it. We had 75.00 worth of food and it was all TERRIBLE except the rice. The chow mein was at least edible Greasy and few vegetables.but we could choke it down. Nihilism beef was chewy, vegetables overcooked and no flavor and not spicy. Was all so disappointing as I just got out of hospital and was seeing my son for the first time. Was supposed to be a family celebration of life. We still celebrated but albeit with bad food!!!

My Family & I were visiting Santa Cruz & we ran into this Chinese Restaurant, we decided to stop in & check it out, There was trash everywhere outside, dead grass & Big bins of trash right next to parking area, very bad odors from all the trash. We gave them the benefit of the doubt, went inside & there was 10 of us & the waiter seemed annoyed by our Big Group. The Waiter never smiled & we just asked for water & we discussed if we should stay & try it out or go somewhere else, we got our waters & most of them had something floating in them, We all got disgusted & we got up & left, Waiters Remark was " Are you all Serious" with a very unfriendly look on His face . Definitely Don't Recommend
