Cuoco Seattle Reviews
The spaghetti and lasagna were both amazing. Great customer service. The 2018 Taste of Iceland was really good. Panna cotta as a dessert isn't a good idea though. It's usually a bland dish.
Ridiculously good food, handmade pastas (one of them basically had fondue inside in a brown butter sauce - yum) and fantastic, attentive service. I sat at the bar and tried several dishes including dessert. I think this place is underrated. I can't wait to go back.
Excellent food and wonderful service. I had the pumpkin seed pesto gemelli and it was perfect. There is an automatic 20% gratuity for all parties (regardless of size).
A fine Tom Douglas restaurant with excellent food and great service to match. The location is great and parking is easy in the garage. The pasta is hand-made daily and tasted amazing! There is a 20% tip included in the bill which helps the service staff earn a living wage. Price is higher than Olive Garden but the comparison pales to Cuoco. Would recommend
The food is very good, with moderate prices. I've had several of the dishes and they have all been excellent. The one surprise was the heat from the red peppers in the ratatouille. Good flavor just hotter than expected. The lasagna is excellent, it is more of a meat than a cheese one and the amount is more than enough. The meatballs are the best non-homemade ones I have ever tasted. In addition, the staff is very friendly.
Went for Mothers Day dinner with my daughters, it's a nice restaurant, clean and well-maintained with nice decor, great customer service, delicious food and cocktails, had a great time, at the end of our dinner they got busier, so better to have reservation, just in case.
great ambiance, nice staff. food was perfect. had calamari, spaghetti n meatballs and it was exactly what I was looking for.
Dined at Cuoco last night for Icelandic Week. Not Italian, but brilliant menu items, with natural Icelandic ingredients, brought and passionately prepared by visiting Reyjkavik chef, Georg Arnar Halldórson! Such an amazing treat! (I'll definitely return soon, however, to sample my beloved Italian cuisine!). #cuoco, #Icelandicweek, #ChefHalldórson
The food is always delicious and the staff is very pleasant :)
Great food, quiet and cozy atmosphere, nice service
Wonderful dining experience, great service and the pasta is to die for!! You can even watch the guy make pasta at the front of the restaurant!
Good lasagna, cozy place to spend some more minutea with family and friends. Price matches quality.
Great atmosphere, friendly waiters and waitresses, and good Italian food!
Bartenders are fantastic, Management is attentive, The handmade Cappaletti pasta (stuffed with a cheese fonduta) is out of this world amazing. Little flavor explosions that I would eat everyday if I could get away with it. If you are curious about Italian wines, the staff here can supply you with a wealth of information, and the option to sample their glass pours.
Attentive service and the food quality outpaced our expectations. Rigatoni was perfectly cooked, the appropriate size, and delightfully spicy! Drinks were underwhelming, but our sample size was small.
We had a great time: friendly service and the pasta are incredible. The cappelletti are one of the best pasta I have ever had, I also loved the salmon ravioli. Other guests at the table really enjoyed the radiatore, very original (I didn't try them). Good appetizers, good wines and good music. What else can you ask for? And apparently the pasta chef also gives pasta classes! I would definitely sign up if I lived in the city.
My boyfriend brought me here for dinner on a date. We had wonderful food. Everything about the restaurant was wonderful. The lighting was great, the wait staff was excellent, the decor was great. I'm a big fan of Tom Douglas and this restaurant was amazing.
A crowd of my friends went to Cuoco for happy hour this evening. There were about 18 of us and we were seated at one long taroll. The happy hour menu listed about 6 pastas, 6 shared appetizers and 6 drink specials. Our service was attentive and responsive. I think I heard that our server's name was Mark. One of our group has dietary issues and Mark went out of his way to offer her alternative options. She was thrilled with his suggestion to provide her with a marinara pasta from the children's menu with two meatballs. She loved her food. Many recommended those meat balls and those who ordered them were very pleased. I try to avoid beef so ordered the eggplant parmesan. It arrived as 6 delightful light eggplant rols in a nice marinara sauce. Very tasty. Two of us shared them and an order of bruscetta as well. The bruscetta was tasty as well but not the traditional dish I was looking for. Wine and bar drinks were $7 and we'll received. Many ordered dessert and I all were happy. The tiramisu was very popular. The restaurant was very attractive. We had a great time
Absolutely adored this restaurant. My friend and I went to a late dinner and our server was beyond amazing. Unfortunately I cannot remember her name, but she gave us a little wine tasting of 8+ wines because we didn't know much about the wine list and it was so much fun. We both got pasta dishes and we were very pleased. This was my first restaurant in Seattle, and I was nervous about the service charge fee opposed to a tip, but I would've tipped 20% or more anyways. If I'm ever back in Seattle, Cuoco is definitely on my list.
My team and I ate dinner here after a long business event and had a wonderful time. Our cocktails were fantastic (the Burnt Manhattan was fantastic) and the appetizers (cheesy bread, meatballs, calamari, and octopus) were all well-prepared and arrived at the table quickly. My steak was cooked to perfection, with the Gorgonzola adding additional flavor. The Brussels sprouts were well seasoned and crisp. The best part of the meal, however, was the coconut cream pie - I tried this at the recommendation of a colleague (even though I don’t like coconut) and it was pure heaven.
Came here for a quiet date night Thursday. There were very few people there as it was around 8. We were seated quickly and the serving staff was both very quick and helpful with our orders. They also kept our water glasses topped off which is always a plus in my book. The food came out piping hot soon after the delicious bread appetizer. The pasta was incredible and the portions were generous. I will definitely be heading here again!
Fresh homemade pasta, hard to beat. Every time I'm In town I stop and eat here and it seems like it gets better every time. The fresh cheese and honey appetizer is awesome. Highly recommended, reasonable and great atmosphere. I recommend a day or two notice in advance. They are usually busy and the food speaks for itself as does the service.
We went to Cuoco for our team lunch. They have reservations available for really large groups so that is a great thing. Their ambience and location is nice. The food was delicious and being a vegetarian, I was glad I found few good options to choose from. The best part was their garlic bread. That was just amazing!
The service and food here was excellent. Well, all the food but my linguine with clam which had an off taste to it and the staff was very accommodating for that. I do wish there was an option to tip a bit more than the 20% which I do not say often. I typically am upset that i have to top 20% when service doesn't match. This was not the case and was a perfect meal before the ballet. Thanks, well be back!
Food was phenomenal, all my photos are of half eaten food. Went there for happy hour and I would say 2 dishes would be a good serving. I had a glass of red which was yummy. Ok let’s be serious I had 2 glasses... but anyways the prosciutto di parma, rigatoni, meatballs, garlic bread and maltagliati was above average! Definitely worth it at the happy hour prices.
Nice, rustic Italian restaurant in SLU. Good, friendly service. Coconut cream pie is light, and not overly sweet. The mushroom arancini appetizer was okay, but truffle flavor was almost non-existent. Did not try any pasta but supposedly it is the highlight.
Capaletti was too one-note. Added the corn to it and it was much better. Tagliatelle was good but I didn’t feel there was enough chew in the pasta.
The pasta was good, service was great! Was it the best pasta I've ever had? Nope.. But it was good and a great spot for a quick lunch.
Came here for restaurant week, great service and friendly staff!! The vibe is great, will come back soon!!
Pasta was very good but drinks were a bit expensive. Also slightly limited menu beyond pasta
Handmade pasta and cheesy bread were really good, but the pesto was pretty bland. Would skip that one next time.
Was there for a company Christmas party. The lasagna was some of the best lasagna I've ever tasted the appetizers were good as well in the desserts are great. The layout of the location is kind of small and a little segmented, but nothing that was a big issue.
Tried the salmon for lunch. It was okay, nothing spectacular. I've had better grilled salmon with tastier sides. The ambience is good for a small to medium sized work lunch/dinner. The service was prompt and friendly.
Tasty food, succinct menu but still with good choices. Nice ambiance and a full bar. Went for an afternoon stroll followed by lunch at this place with my team. I was good place for conversation around the table. Some of the dishes might have small portions but the food is good.
We went to Cuoco on a Friday after work and caught the tail end of their happy hour. We ordered a couple of things from the HH menu, then got entres from the regular dinner menu. Everything was fantastic! My favorite were the meatballs - the sauce on them was absolutely perfect. My husband and I each got a pasta dish as well - me the butternut squash ravioli and he the tagliatelle with some kind of braised meat. A lot of their pasta is hand-made as well and they have a nice selection of wine and other mixed drinks. Definitely a nice place to go for date night!
Location was nice and portions the right size. I didn't particularly like my choice, a gnocchi option, but the others on the table were good. Good drinks.
Really enjoy the interior ambiance. Service was great. We came on labor day evening so it wasn't busy but I loved the slow pace for a birthday dinner with my husband :) we tried several dishes and shared them. They were all good. The salad and pasta we ordered were excellent... the steak was a bit tough and the ice cream at the end was ok. All in all a wonderful experience and highly recommend it
Very upscale Italian restaurant. Cocktails are rather good, having a large selection of liqueurs to choose from. The food portions are made with care, but are rather small; be sure to order appetizers to ensure you don't go away hungry. The price is a bit steep, but not overly outrageous.
So this review is a year in the making. My first visit was a bit disappointing. A miniscule plate of carbonara and one beer came to $29. A year later for my friends friend's birthday a second time I ordered the "Aged Rib Eye" for $38. It was quite good. Unfortunately the menu is al a carte so I had to order the risotto and a salad separately. In the end my bill was almost $90. So the sides were good but a bit annoying that for that price nothing was included. And the year prior a meager portion of carbonara left me hungry and $30 dollars poorer. The hand made pasta was fine but you would be hard pressed to tell the difference between that and another italian restaurant around town. If you come here be prepared to spend some money. Good food, nice ambience and exceptional service, but not sure it's worth the price.
Cuoco had bold, authentic Italian flavors, a nice atmosphere, and knowledgeable servers. Unfortunately we felt the food was not well-balanced - it was simply too heavy, and none of our dishes felt composed. We began with braised meatballs and a "Little Gem Salad." The meatballs were, well, as advertised: three meatballs with some cheese. They had a good flavor, but the chef had so many options to elevate the appetizer and neglected to take them. Anna reported that the vinaigrette on the salad was somewhat heavy-handed and overwhelmed the other flavors on the plate. We then ordered our pasta course: Cappelletti for me and squash ricotta gemelli for Anna. The pasta was generally well-executed except two pieces of mine were too thick and doughy. The pasta itself and the sauces were exceptionally dense and heavy. Despite the designed simplicity of the recipes, the dishes nonetheless needed some component to add a more diverse flavor profile, or more herbaceous freshness . . . something. Plating was not what we expect from an outstanding professional kitchen. It was better than what I can do at home, so there's that. Ultimately we were both too full after the first two courses to enjoy an entree. Cuoco is certainly degrees removed from Olive Garden and The Spaghetti Factory, but it doesn't compete with the elite Italian restaurants in Seattle.
Just went for lunch, so not the full experience perhaps. But I found the pasta choices uninspired, and the execution lackluster. Penne with spicy sausage? Not groundbreaking. And the flavors showed no interesting twists, no special attention paid to any step.
It's ok, not worth the $170 bill, but waitress was genuinely nice. Not fake. Her tip was already figured in with the bill so she was just being herself. Duke's Chowder over on Union Lake across from the Silver Cloud where we stayed to me was the best Seattle had to offer. Best beer I've ever had was served there though at Cuoco.
This place is very fancy and the portions are small by American standards. It's super pricey, like just don't even think about the cost when you're here. The cider was reasonable at least. The gnocci was also the best gnocci I've ever tasted.
Not nearly as good as I was expecting. I was left wanting so much more than I got. The space is great, the bar and staff are all great but the food didn't live up to the reputation or the price. the sauce tasted like canned tomatoes and it was missing herbs and seasoning. It will be difficult to convince me to come back, especially with so many other great Italian restaurants around.
Food was good, however be aware of a 20% service charge on your meal. My girlfriend and I felt that the charge was not warranted considering the speed of which the food was brought out and the service provided to us. The only thing that the servers really did was take our order and refill our water once (leaving a jug for us to refill on our own). If the restaurant was super busy and they had paid special attention to us and all guests then MAYBE the 20% service charge would be warranted, however that was obviously not the case. The prices of the food are midrange, but beware the 20% charge that pushes it higher.
The two stars belong to the waitress as she was the only redeeming factor to this restaurant. The food is VERY PRICEY for what you get. I ordered the lasagna which was not a good idea. The driest lasagna I have ever eaten. The drinks were good, but be prepared to pay nothing less than $11.00 and up for a drink...REALLY???!!! We ordered octopus and meatballs as appetizers which were both very good, but again, unbelievably pricey. I guess it depends on your budget, but sometimes I'd like to think I have more sense than money...I proved myself wrong on this one.
Food here is pretty good, though not excellent and on the pricy side for what you get (at dinner time at least). Service here was pretty miserable. It took a long time for our orders to be taken, then a long time to bring our check. Waiter was essentially non existent other than taking orders, bringing food, and bringing check. Environment here was also terrible. It was extremely loud, to the point where taking to my wife was very difficult. I may return sometime for lunch (when it's cheaper, faster, and quieter), but never again for dinner.
Way overpriced for what you got, sauce had no seasoning, it would be better out of a jar. You got no salad or bread all came for more money. Garlic bread that we paid $8 for had no garlic just butter. Olive Garden would a big jump up. Atmosphere was nice, waitress was friendly but gratuity was automatically taken at 20%, socialism at work as it gives no incentives to be excellent!
We were searching for an Italian Restaurant, and found Cuoco. Ambience of the restaurant was good. There was no wait time to be seated. The table was next to a window, and I should say the view and table location were good and cozy. I being a Vegetarian, asked the waitress of the Vegetarian options and she explained of the dishes which can be made Vegetarian. I chose to have Gemelli and a Pilsner Draft Beer. Beer was crisp and light. Chilled and was very good in taste. Gemelli.... Disappointment. Firstly, the portion served did not make any sense for the price. $19 for that small portion of Pasta. Taste was good... But the Pasta was not boiled enough. I took 2 bites and I could feel the tension in my jaws. Pasta was hard and spongy. I tried to call for the waitress to tell her about the pasta but could not find her. I could see her behind the bar, attending a phone call. She then walked to the far end of the restaurant. I had to call the waitress of the adjacent table. Explained to this waitress and she was happy to have my pasta remade. The original waitress came by the table eventually and enquired about the pasta. Now comes best part. After 10 mins of wait, I was served remade Gemelli. Same quantity served... Pasta was cooked better this time. New addition to the pasta was that there was more oil used to cook my pasta. I did not complain again, cause we had to leave pretty soon. Do see the pictures I uploaded. And you should be able to see the generous amount of oil used. My waitress did not charge me for the Beer as they had to remake my pasta. Unfortunately, the free beer does not compensate to the not so well made pasta, time wasted in waiting and the extra calories I had to intake due to the extra oil. Ambience - 9/10 Service - 7/10 (because of the second waitress) Food - 3/10 I would still recommend you to go to the restaurant as I believe, my visit was on one of those bad days for the restaurant.
I've been here a couple times but the service was definitely off this last time. We were seated next to a huge load party which should have been in the empty back room, waiter forgot our drink order despite writing it down, and didn't bring our check when I asked for it. I had to chase down the manager. He comped a $7 item, which was nice but I would have rather left a slim tip. No dice there. Mandatory 20% service fee!!
