Harps Inn Sheerness Reviews
A large, clean and well-lit pub, The Harps Inn is convenient for Minster and has a good-sized carpark. I had the £12 lunch deal - a small plate and a pint of beer (which seems very reasonable). The food was good, but the main point is that the staff here ate very friendly and helpful, really creating the atmosphere. There's also a large garden out the back. I called on a weekday, and the clientele seemed to be mainly older retired people.
Just popped in for a meal. Fantastic tender venison casserole for me and hubby loved his Cumberland sausage ring. Lovely waitress. A quiet night but place nicely decorated for Xmas and music playing at a volume that still allows you to talk 😀
This place has come along so well since reopening, food is on an another level! compared to anywhere else on the island. Today had a trio roast was fantastic and the sticky toffee pudding. also be recommending and returning many thanks
Came earlier for a Sunday Dinner. We were seated quickly and our chosen meals followed shortly afterwards. Brimming with freshly cooked seasonal ingredients, the meal was both plentiful and delicious. Top service from the floor staff and 10 out of 10 to the Chef. My partner and I will be visiting again soon.
Can’t get much better. Amazing difference from the old owners. The food is delicious, perfect portion sizes and well presented. The staff were really friendly and provided great hospitality. The bar had a wide selection and their cocktails were spot on. I’m so glad to see this place finally provide a lovely atmosphere, great food and at a great price rather than the drab cheap pub it used to be.
Popped into The Harps Inn for breakfast and was genuinely blown away! Everything came out piping hot, perfectly cooked, and full of flavour. The full English was spot on — crispy bacon, golden hash browns, proper sausages, and perfectly runny eggs. You can tell they care about the quality, not just quantity. The staff were just as lovely in the morning as they are in the evenings — friendly, fast service with a smile and a bit of banter. The coffee was great too (not the cheap stuff you get in some pubs). If you’re in Minster and fancy a proper hearty breakfast in a relaxed, welcoming pub, The Harps Inn is absolutely the place to go. I’ll definitely be back again soon!
Just had Christmas Day lunch with a group of 8. The food was excellent, and we didn't feel at all rushed. The staff worked so hard and the service was excellent. Amazing, considering how busy they were. Thank you for a lovely Christmas Day.
My wife & I stopped by for Saturday lunch to try it out as we're in the area. Not too busy, several tables free, very clean and space to move, not crammed in. Received a friendly welcome as we walked in the door. Prompt and polite service with a smile and a friendly word. Had battered fish & chips and chicken schnitzel (as I recall). Food was served quite quickly, well presented, decent portions and very tasty. Reasonably priced, nothing too fancy but good quality. A fair selection of regular decent pub meals. We really enjoyed our visit, all round good, thank you. If we were nearby again we would definitely re-visit. Thoroughly recommend for a nice tasty lunch in a local pub.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Outstanding Local Gem! The Harps Inn in Minster is hands-down one of the best pubs on the island! The atmosphere is always warm and welcoming, whether you’re popping in for a quiet drink or a lively evening with friends. The staff go above and beyond — friendly, attentive, and genuinely make you feel like part of the family. The food is fantastic too — fresh, well-cooked, and proper pub portions at great prices. The Sunday roasts are a must-try, and the drinks are always perfectly poured. There’s often great entertainment and a really friendly local crowd, which gives the place its true community feel. If you’re anywhere near Sheppey, make sure you stop by The Harps Inn — you won’t be disappointed!
I was visiting from London for a meeting, so I went into the pub for a tea to wait. I found the staff friendly and welcoming. I came back after the meeting and had a portion of chilli chips, which was actually a large plate for the price paid. So it was good value for money. Nice atmosphere. It has a pool table at the front, so I imagine it is a popular haunt for the locals
Really impressed with the harps since the change of management. Several really tasty meals and consistent, friendly service on all visits. Regularly a visitor now having not been so much over the previous years. Well worth a visit!
My boyfriend and I visited the Harps Inn on Thursday evening, and must say what a wonderful pleasant experience we had. The pub was very clean and tidy inside, the staff were prompt and welcoming, friendly and attentive. We ordered our dinner and it arrived in a timely manner. The food was faultless, we rated it 10/10. My cod was as big as my arm and my boyfriends chicken was not dry, it was nice and moist, had delicious bacon and smothered with cheese. The chips were chunky chips and they did not skimp on the portions either. We also ordered mozzarella sticks as a side, and they were also delicious. Please see the pics of the meals we thoroughly enjoyed our visit!
Have always had good food - excellent service and a good atmosphere when we have eaten here. Highly recommended
Great warm atmosphere on arrival. Waitress was excellent and friendly even tho it was extremely busy we visited as a family of 4 and the food ,service and atmosphere was brilliant. New decor / revamp throughout plenty of outside garden space we will definitely return. Sunday roast are amazing.
Visited for the first time since it’s been taken over by the new owner. Great atmosphere, very friendly and welcoming staff, food was a huge improvement from the last time I ate there, will definitely be making it a regular and recommend it to friends and family.
Took the family for lunch today. Had a lovely young man, Jack served us. He was attentive, well mannered and couldn't fault him. Food was gorgeous, I had Mediterranean salad, hubby steak and another pie and mash. All lovely. Good music. Fantastic.
As this is local to us we gave it a try for an afternoon lunch. A very warm welcome by the staff on arrival , decided to have some lunch .The service and food was excellent , had a 8oz Bad Boy Burger far the best on the Isle ( been to several other locations) & the Mint Aero Sundae was to die for will be returning again. A very well presented pub/inn with a lovely garden & decking area ideal for the sunnier weather.
Went this afternoon !! for roast pork was amazing !! also the decor within this pub looks brilliant and clean and the chef Blake was amazing 🤩
Driving round looking for a decent place for Sunday lunch and we happened on the Harp Inn, Minster. After a warm welcome, we were led to a table, although the restaurant was busy. We were told we had 2 hours before they needed the table back. The beef and pork roasts were generous but nicely presented with extra gravy. The service was friendly and helpful. We loved it, thank you.
Love a weekend in the pub and now we have the breakfast which has made it a 10/10 to a 12/10
Went for some food, our food come out really hot, very nice, staff ware also very helpful and made sure we had what we needed, would recommend the harps pub
4 of us ate here and had a few beers. Great service, friendly staff and decent prices. Had a great evening but couldn't finish the dinner. It was huge !!!
First time in the Harps since the change over and found it to be a very pleasant experience, especially made more so by our experienced, friendly, waitress Faith. Faith was very attentive and nothing was too much trouble. Will definitely be returning again soon.
Had roast beef today lovely and delicious would like to point out the barman Stewart although very serious, attentive and friendly brilliant work guys 🤩
Easily the best food on the Island right now - if you haven't paid a visit since the revamp then book yourselves a table quick! Great menu, with some lovely little details in the sauces and seasonings, good selection of drinks and very friendly service. Will definitely be back, and wish George and the team every success!
My wife, my daughter and I went to the Harps Inn on Wed 9th July. We were greeted on arrival and shown to our table. The waitress was very polite and friendly and took our drinks order. These arrived very quickly. We ordered our food and we did not have to wait long for it to arrive. My wife had the home cooked steak and ale pie with skin on chips, my daughter had a double burger with skin on chips and I had the half roast chicken with skin on chips. All our meals were served piping hot and their presentation was great. The chips were in their own wired baskets and side orders in their own little metal saucepans. The meals are reasonably priced and the service we received was excellent. We all thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the Harps Inn and will return. I would highly recommend.
First time I've eaten at the Harps inn it differently won't be out last .... absolutely fantastic food and great service. Our waitress was Faith she was amazing and very friendly and very helpful to our friend as he is gluten intolerant...I can honestly say I've never been in a pub that's so friendly and helpful. The roast dinner was the best I've had in a pub for a long time... Keep up the good work
Went yesterday for our dear friends wake. Staff friendly & welcoming. Buffet spread was lovely & fresh
Attentive staff and all were very friendly, was a little disappointed with options for vegetarians. But we had the beet & sweet pot wrap which was very nice. And the doughnut dessert 😋 we moved from indoors to out and enjoyed a lovely afternoon in a relaxing environment .Thank you
I visited harps for my birthday celebrations for a meal with my partner and we had the most amazing experience everyone was so friendly and welcoming the food was absolutely incredible we will definitely be coming back here I even had the staff singing happy birthday to me which was wonderful
My daughter and I visited the Harps in this evening and I was amazed such a fantastic places great food great staff best meal ive had on the isle of sheppey by far
After 4 years of living just around the corner, I visited The Heart and had lunch with my partner and close friend. Everything was top-notch about the place. The decor is very nice, the atmosphere is warm and friendly, the service (Jack & Joe were excellent), and the food was delicious, hot, and served very quickly. I highly recommend The Hart and will definitely be back.
Had a fab Sunday Lunch in there today with my parents. Bar maid was spot on with remembering my order after 1 round. Heather the waitress was lovely and friendly too. Food was well cooked and presented. Will deffo be back.
I can not praise this place enough. I visited with a party of 6, which included a disabled guest. The staff could not have been more welcoming, friendly and great at their job. The roast was amazing, and great value. Our server was called Jack, and he was fantastic, great service. Highly recommended.
Popped in on the chance of getting a table for 7. This was sorted out quickly by Jack , think that was his name. He was patient with us even though we weren't the quickest at ordering. We all had main meals which we all cleared our plates of. Desserts were polished off too. This was our first visit but won't hesitate to visit again if in the area. Thanks again to Jack for his outstanding service 👏
Nice local pub. The menu has typical pub classics. This place can be quite busy at weekends and you may need to book a table if you want to eat. It's also a good place to come for a drink and they serve decent cocktails. Overall it was a good night out
We had a nice meal at Harps Inn. The fish and chips were great, and the restaurant itself was fine. The staff were friendly, but they seemed a bit forgetful—our food arrived without any cutlery or napkins, and we had to remind them to bring our drinks. It wasn’t a huge issue, but it did take away from the experience a bit. Other than that, it was a pleasant visit, and we’d consider coming back.
i came here today with my dad for some dinner, i got the sharing platter which was beautiful, i thoroughly enjoyed the butter chicken croquettes and the salt and pepper chips! highly recommend!! the garden space is brilliant with plenty of benches for everyone. well kept and lovely decor inside!
A nice place to have a meal with different areas for dining aswellasa large outside dining area in the garden. A really good mixture of pub and restaurant with neither encroaching on the other to any significant extent. I was lucky enough to arrive as someone was leaving otherwise would have had to park a fair way away as the carpark is tiny for the size of the pub.
Brought my family here for our Christmas meal on Christmas Eve. The table was booked deposit paid . When we arrived we was sat and had to wait 35 mins just for our starters to come out. The food was nice as usual but the poor waiting staff were rushed off their feet as there only seemed to be 2 of them working. Whilst we were eating the place became very noisy and due to my mum being ill she wanted to leave we asked 3 times for the bill and had to 25 mins for it to arrive.
2nd time had Sunday roast in 3 weeks food is nice but both times roast potatoes have been warm at best stuffing was hard and today menu stated pork with crackling although only 1 of the 3 dishes had cracking told they had run out so really should not be advertising it on the menu or at least telling people when they order. We sat down at 2pm so not late
Having previously had excellent food and service, today's experience was extremely disappointing. I had ordered a starter for myself and my daughter to share before our lunch. The pub was not very busy, but nearly 40 minutes later our starter arrived at the same time as our lunch. We were told that the kitchen had not followed the instructions that they had been given. However, what made matters worse was the fact that although the starter was hot, our main courses of fish and chips for me and fish goujons from the children's menu were struggling to even reach room temperature. I sent mine back, but my daughter has severe learning difficulties and had I taken her food away from her, her autism would in all likelihood have caused her to have a meltdown, so she had her lukewarm goujons until the waitress managed to come back with some hot chips. We will be back because of our previous experiences and I believe they deserve a second chance.
had a meal there tonight, a very dry hunters chicken because there was no bbq sauce, why not because they ran out but decided not to say ,onion rings dripping in oil and a lemon meringue tart with out any meringue, you couldn't make it up . that's four customers that won't be returning
Had a lovely breakfast at The Harps. Good service, very accommodating. Please continue doing breakfasts. Sorry about only one star it should have been 4 star !
Booked a Xmas dinner paid deposit and told no need to pre order menu as only 29th Nov. When ordered told we couldn’t have Xmas dinner as not pre ordered. No discount or alternative date given no £15 voucher promised and had to remind to take £60 paid off bill. Very plain meal all so disappointed at such bad service .
