Patakan South Pasadena Reviews
I love that food so much and this place is perfect for my Thai food cravings. I'm gonna come here quite often. Thai food is a comfort food I will never let go of. This place has absolutely amazing and rich flavors in the dishes. I recommend tom yong koong. Although it is an acquired taste you will learn to love it. I was sick today and it was the perfect soup to make me feel better. The drunken noodles are a classic. Gonna try it next time I come here. Service is amazing. Prices are great. Food is immaculate. Usually plenty of parking.
I just came to the United States to eat once. I haven't been here for a long time. The decoration of the store and the food are different. It's very good. The curry is delicious.
Great food with outdoor seating. Love that this places offers that and has seafood in their Tom kha as an option. The food is usually spicy so be sure to mention that you want mild or no spice.
This is one of my very favorite Thai places. The food is delicious but the lunch special is even better. Less than $8 for soup, salad, wontons, rice and a choice of entree. Pictured is my favorite, the Pad See Ew but the Pad Thai is also killer too. The staff is super sweet and getting takeout is so easy. They deliver too!

Had the pad see ewe with chicken and the mint leaf (basil) chicken served with fried egg and steamed rice. It was very delicious! Tasted authentic. The food is served quickly and the prices are reasonable.
This is a small place in the far corner of a strip mall. If you look fast, you may miss it but once you find it, you are in for a treat. The food was great tasting and fresh. The one thing I am most impressed with is the Thai Tea... unlike many other places I had it, theirs has just the right amount of sugar. No need to drink a gallon of water after.
Our favorite Thai restaurant in Pasadena. They are always friendly and let us sit on the patio with our dog. The food is ALWAYS so delicious. The only thing that is irritating about this place are the TVs inside. It kinda ruins the whole dining experience.
Call ahead for pick up/take out. Food is very good and fresh. You can do your own vegetarian dishes, just order the protein on the side. This business is working very hard during these difficult times and deserve our support.

Great local place to go...value for the money. Most of dishes are under $15. Foods are decent and pretty good. A/C is not working so it's bit hot inside. Maybe they are trying to cut costs by not running the ac. They have to invest on it even they do not have enough customers. We almost left because of the AC. With good prices and decent food, we will definitely go back. Please put the AC on. 😅
My go to Thai resto in SoPasadena. Three star for food and a star for service. They have good food and very friendly staff that offers quality service. The place is clean and neat. Prices are $ affordable. Lunch specials are great deal. They delivery too.

Patakan Thai Restaurant is located conveniently on South Fair Oaks near the 110 freeway. There is ample parking. I visited for lunch. My meal was tasty (Panang Curry)! The table was extremely wobbly and the temperature was quite warm in the restaurant. Decent prices.
We always noticed this little place while driving by and finally decided to try it. The food was delicious though the portions were a bit small for the price. The staff was attentive and friendly. There's ample parking and outdoor patio dining. We'll go again. It's the best (only?) Thai in South Pasadena.
If you're looking for reasonably priced Thai food in South Pasadena, then this is a good spot. Patakan used to be an Old Town and they moved to this location years ago and parking is actually much easier. Flavors are authentic but not the best I've had. Again, value is the play here and the staff is pretty nice.
Tip: fast, easy, affordable lunch specials. Free delivery within a few miles radius. This is our go to Thai place in the nearby area. It's easy, has a great taste. We usually order delivery, but decided to go in once. Place is a bit small, crowded with working types at lunch time.
Food is always very good, never had a bad meal. I use the delivery service and they are by far the most timely and best tasting Thai in Pasadena, South Pas, Eagle Rock, Highland Park, and Alhambra. I recommend it!

The orange chicken had no flavor and was very crunchy with hardly any orange sauce flavor! The pot stickers were not thoroughly fried and were raw on the edges.

This was one of the worst meals we've had in recent memory. One dish, Pad See Ew, immediately smelled strongly burnt and unpleasant from the moment it was brought to the table — and it tasted the same, with a bitter burnt flavor that made it impossible to eat. The other dish, Pad Woon Sen, was at best okay but pretty bland and low on flavor. The worst part, though, was that when the server (and sole front-of-house employee) noticed that we hadn't touched the disgusting burnt dish and that we declined a box and just requested a check, he asked if something was wrong with the food. We politely told him — and while he did offer to have it remade (an offer we declined, as we were ready to just get out of there at that point and had no faith in the kitchen's ability or desire to eat any further food coming out of it by then), he ultimately then brought us the bill with both dishes still on it at the full usual price. We just assumed any reasonable restaurant would at the very least take the bad dish off the bill in a situation like this and not charge us for what was clearly bad food that we didn't touch, but alas. We also couldn't help but wonder how both the cook and the server failed to notice the overwhelming burnt smell coming from the dish and determined it was good enough to serve regardless. That alone makes us question the restaurant's judgment and how much, if at all, it even cares about the quality of the food it's serving. I hate to be negative and rarely leave reviews that aren't the result of glowingly positive interactions, but I've never had Thai food this bad or a worse overall Thai restaurant experience. It's a shame, as we love the idea of a little local place like this right in South Pas. But this is a restaurant best avoided. We certainly won't be back again.
This place has really gone down hill in recent years. This place used to have really incredibly good Thai food for the money, but now you’re honestly much better off getting recipes to make at home from Trader Joe’s. The price is high and the food quality and flavors are just not there anymore.
Second time ordering from here. The food is not good. No flavor. They must use the cheapest of ingredients. The chicken was mostly grizzle, the crab cakes did not taste of crab at all. I actually did not eat my food. I ordered take out and they gave me no utensils or napkins. I will not be going back here again.
Previously loved their food, but my last two orders have been terrible. -There was a panang chicken curry that had chewy and uncooked chicken. They replaced our food and the followup was good. -This time we get a chicken pad thai and a chicken pineapple fried rice, and the taste of both was just off and now my husband is starting to feel sick to his stomach. I forgave them once because I'd loved them before, but twice messed up this bad means I'll never order from them again.
