James Coney Island Spring Reviews
Ive been to a lot of JCI’s. This place is always spotless and the service is always excellent. Employees are friendly and helpful which in this day and age is hard to find in any service industry. I would have tipped if it was an option.
It doesn't matter to me about the opinion of what others say of JCI...we lost ours on East Freeway @ Federal Rd. and in Pasadena. I love the hot dogs from them . The only complain i have ,is that the hardly put enough chilly and cheese, like they did B4. And the hot dogs look smaller. Everything everywhere got smaller portions but bigger in price. Help me to make sense of that. But other then all that...im happy I kno where to go now to get me some JCI. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Bro the hot dog was excellent. The kid at the front was very polite and respectful. Dining room was clean. The soap in the restrooms smelled like blue slushy
It's an old building so it needs some love inside, but there all beef dogs on potato buns are the best! Absolutely love a fast food restaurant that serves food fit for humankind consumption.
For fast food the place was clean, food was good and I didn't wait long considering it was during lunch rush. I had not had a JCI in years, back when I worked downtown! I'm glad i found this one close to me. A JCI a couple times a month ought not hurt my diet!
I love this place. This one goes back to my childhood of growing up in Houston. With an old-school diner feel they serve a large selection of food these days, but the dogs are where it's at. I've been to a lot of major cities and tried their take on the American classic, but nobody makes coneys like James'. Stick with the Walker Street Combo and you can't go wrong.
If you’re looking for a place that’ll treat your taste buds like royalty and your arteries like a speed bump, James Coney Island is the spot. I dove into one of their gourmet chili cheese dogs, and let me tell you, it wasn’t just a hot dog. It was a full-blown flavor parade with chili leading the marching band and cheese tossing confetti. Then came the Baja dog, stacked like it had something to prove. Chipotle mayo, guacamole, pico, cilantro, jalapeños… it was like a taco truck crash-landed on a hot dog in the best way possible. To wash it all down, I grabbed a pink lemonade. It was so sweet I’m pretty sure my pancreas sent me a strongly worded letter. Still drank it. No regrets. James Coney Island doesn’t play around. If your diet’s looking for a cheat day, this is where it should go to party.
This is an old school Houston original since 1923. Locals and insiders know. The hot dogs, chili and Frito Pie are legendary. Very good, fresh burgers and fries too. The Delaware Punch is still around but called “Coney Punch” now. The staff is well-trained, friendly and accommodating. JCI is a neighborhood and a family tradition with us. Tastes and feels like the real deal.
We just visited here. Decided to stop as the big red sign caught my attention. Oh my am I glad we did. The service was so pleasant and a breath of fresh air! Veronica, thank you so much for being patient with us and helping us with our order! Superb customer service! The food is perfectly packaged and stayed hot for the ride home. Delicious to the taste and thanks so much for the crispy fries!!
I love this place the food is awesome I eat here every chance I get. in two days they have $.97 counties but I came today and paid full price. JCI is a Houston tradition. My wife got the burger and it wasn’t really good. Didn’t send it back but I should have. Still ain’t taking away 5 stars cause I love the hotdogs, and the Houston Tradition.
It is never as good as your memory. I recall the buns were steamed and soft, the chile real, and the cheese a bit better. I needed to check it off of my to do again list. Done.
The culinary experience offered a mix of flavors and textures. While the smaller hot dogs lacked a certain robust taste, the burgers were a delightful contrast. The tots, unfortunately, fell a bit flat in the flavor department. However, the cook's exceptional skills and dedication were truly appreciated.
I haven't been to a JCI in over 20 years. Holy crap! The portions are tiny! A "regular " hotdog is half the size of the ones you buy at the grocery store. Save your money any go buy a hotdog and soda at Sam's Club for 1/4 of the price. Very poor value for the money. I stopped at McDonald's on the way home because I was still hungry.
i don't know who's working the drive through/window at 2pm on this sunday afternoon but please tell her to leave her bitterness at home. this is the second and last time i've been to this location and had to deal with the same drive through worker. also, the audacity to mumble through the speaker but then to cock a little attitude whenever she can't hear the customer ordering is crazy. with so many people looking for work, i find it hard to believe that she was the best choice for the job.
