Steiny's Pub Staten Island Reviews
Had. The pleasure to travel New York. As I was sight seeing ran across this pub, way cool folks, good food & Drinks, in & out with full stomoch.
Good place! Great People! The Bartender Anthony knows how to treat regulars and newbies alike.
Great bartender (female with short hair) who made us welcome and was happy to chat and laugh with us.
Very cheap happy hour drinks $2 beer and $5 wine, a lovely barmaid and friendly locals
Great place. Friendly staff and nice comfort food and good drinks! X
We were unsure of the location. But we loved the place. They are all new friends. We will be back when we come back to NYC.
Great friendly pub with amazing food! Ordered the burgers and they were cooked to perfection.
Nice pub with all different kind of people. Should definitely be a stop when you are visiting Staten Island.
Amazin atmosphere. You always feel like you are at home. Friendly staff and pleasant patrons. Close to the water.
Great neighborhood bar. Karaoke on Saturday nights. Good selection of tap and bottle beer.
Great prices, small menu but really good food and friendly staff.
Friendly neighborhood watering hole. Didnt eat but the menu is pretty extensive and looks good.
What a great place with huge personality. Food is really good . Chicken cutlets and homemade cornbeef is incredible. Reminds me of a small town midwest bar.
Was visiting New York from South Africa, and wanted to experience a local bar, and this pub did not disappoint! The staff and clients were really friendly, and made me feel at home! Will visit again when in the US!
If I would life in NYC... This would by favourite bar!!! Such a cosy and nice place for a very good cold after work beer... Super friendly waitress on top... I'll be back for sure...
Brilliant time at Steiny’s and fantastic service from Gabby! Definitely recommend if you’ve taken the Staten Island ferry
Had the pastrami burger it was mayein oilom habbah absolutley delish. The meat was fresh the bun was perfect. Great portion very well priced. Highly recommended
Ice cold beer that didn’t cost an arm and a leg. Quaint atmosphere. Friendly service. Definitely recommend.
Cheap Happy Hour beer a 5 minute walk from the Ferry....what's not to love?! Nice escape from the business of Manhattan for a few drinks.
Awesome little bar with a chill vibe and jukebox. The bartenders here really know their stuff and are so professional!
Really nice place with good burgers and beer. Loads of friendly people! The only place we saw on Staten Island after getting of the Ferry :D
Cash only - great pub with a fun waitress. Worth the walk from ferry if you want a good drink
Wow the smash burger was so good!!
We drove from CT to visit my daughter. Walked by the place and heard laughter and cheers.. Walked in and stayed a few hours. Had a great time. Atmosphere was fun and staff was very friendly. Would recommend to stop by there if in the area..
Just a fun, unassuming "dive bar" (not meant disparagingly!) with a funky vibe and affordable drinks. Goes without saying, but a perfect place for a drink before or after an event at the theater next door.
Visiting NY from Scotland. Popped in to Steinys for a beer and received the warmest and most friendly welcome from the bar tender (sorry, didn’t catch your name), and the regulars. Fancy a beer in an old fashioned friendly bar? This is the place. Thanks! Jeff and Lee.
Highly recommended dive bar just a short walk from the Stanton island ferry station. Decent prices and fun, easy to get along with staff and regulars. Honestly felt right at home.
Uuuuuuugh!!!!! The pizza here is absolutely delicious!!! I ordered pepperoni and mushroom, they added basil, which made a huge positive difference. Decent prices, the lady who served us was so nice she was dripping charisma (lol). This is a cozy place -we went around 1500 on a Saturday, and it was not overcrouded -there were plenty of seats. 10 stars!!! 🤤
GREAT BAR!!! Dina is an absolute doll and so welcoming! She takes great care of patrons and has a wonderful personality. I look forward to my next visit. Thanks Dina!!!❤️
Went in after getting the Staten ferry from Manhattan, ordered 2 diet cokes and a cheese burger and corned beef burger, came to $29 ($35 with tip) , very friendly bar and very welcoming. Worth a pop in if you want a break before returning to Manhatten on the ferry.
Found this little diamond by accident. Great little bar, full of character. Had a great couple of hours with a few locals, who made us feel very welcome. It was our first trip to New York and Staten Island, hopefully not our last.
The Barmaid let me use the phone because my phone was dead(No payphone's nowhere). To call my daughter to pick me up. A gentleman in there brought me a beer and I trying to repay him and he said forget about it you haven't a hard day. And I said the next time I'm come here I'll buy you a beer. He said sometimes we all need help. I said thank you, and I never forget get it.
Great wee bar. Young lady serving was first class. Great pints of Coney Island brews. Can't recommend highly enough.
Came over on the ferry from the city just to explore. Came across this quaint little bar, and the bartender, Laura was super sweet and attentive. Not to mention, she made us some good drinks!!
Had a great time there, friendly bartenders, and patrons. Kat is the greatest. Wonderful personality. Next time I'm in Manhattan, I will be taking the ferry to STI for Steiny's.
Always go here for an authentic blue-collar NY bar feel when travelling over from Ireland, love this place, always starts off quiet then end up leaving knowing everyone in the place with everyone buying eachother drinks.
Rose was fantastic, she is the atmosphere of this great local. We had a great time visiting. Would highly recommend stopping by and having a drink.
great cash only spot to give vitality to st george!
Lovely place, mostly full with locals and the occasional tourist coming from the ferry. Great service and very friendly staff! A good choice of beers at reasonable prices.
A must experience for all new yorkers or visitors. The community folk are beautiful humans who are brave to share and connect via conversation or song on karaoke nights!!
Great beer, great music and a terrific barman.
After a long day as a tourist... We finally searched for a cold beer and found this ... In Germany I would call it my second living room. I felt a little bit like at home. Cold beer, very nice service, the right music and a lot of advises for our journey through NYC. If someone want to see the liberty statue 🗽with the free ferry... Don't rush back... It's 5 min right behind the Court.
My wife and I from England took the Staten Island ferry one evening and decided to pop in for a drink instead of heading straight back. We were made to feel very welcome by the barman and got talking to the locals. Cheap beer, great conversation and a Cola on the house for my wife too. Had a wonderful time. Thank you! :)
Always a good time to drink at this place all the bartenders I met were cool served great drinks and me and my friends all had a wonderful time. Honestly if it's a house tap or blue moon we definitely have gotten hammered here and walked 2 blocks home lol thank God too because many o nights we got wrecked lol. If your alone just blowing off some steam or hanging with the fellas trust me this is a cool spot to relax and enjoy a great drink in a cool atmosphere. Also don't forget to feed the jukebox for some great tunes while knocking back some drinks.
Really chilled dive bar with very cheap beer. The barmaid we chatted to was absolutely lovely. It's a really relaxed vibe. There are TVs with sports on however the barmaid did ask if we wanted it changed. We got some bar food which they actually still made for us even though the kitchen was closing which was much appreciated. Definitely go if you're on Staten Island
Came here a few years ago and wondered if it was still as good. It didn't disappoint. It's an amazing place. Everyone is really really friendly. There's a great selection of drinks. The atmosphere is brilliant. Everyone in the whole pub, staff, other drinkers, everyone is super friendly. It's that great, I make sure I come here every time I visit new york. Its just off the ferry from new york city (Battery Park). The ferry is free and you can get some drinks in the port to drink on the way. Plus you sail past Ellis and Liberty Islands on the way which is a great view. Once at the port, you walk outside, up the steps then just around the corner and you're there. It's cash only so make sure you bring your beer money for a great time. Is karaoke night Thursday and another night too but I can't remember. Enjoy. Its fab.
No food but you can bring your own. great drink and atmosphere. Everyone just wants to drink and be friends. No wait on less busy nights, like up to 10 minutes for busy days.
Nice neighborhood pub with good drinks and grub.
Nicest local bar I have been to in a long time.
They don't serve food. The happy hour is good. Small bag of chips should be 1.00 not 2.00.
One of the best bars in Staten Island. Friendly staff and great service.
Highly recommended! What a nice place, wonderful beer and Laura was so nice and friendly! I’m glad I had the chance to be here!!!
I love this bar! If you want a great, small town feel of a bar, stop on by! I’ve had nothing but great service here, the fellow patrons are friendly and overall just a lot of fun. Just remember that it is a cash only bar!
Typical US pub. Music was good, Seinfeld was on TV, barman was gentle. Above all, beer was ice cold. Great stop in LI.
Nice pub with straightforward drinks & food. Great service. Interesting music mix playing. Easy walk from SI Ferry to experience local flavor.
Very nice, small pub! The beer tastes good, the food too and the prices are totally ok!!! The bartender is a super nice guy, we had a great lunch! Thanks!
Had drinks here with my Husband on a very hot day! It wasn't very busy at all but we didn't expect anything different. It was a Tuesday at around 2pm. The lady behind the bar was very friendly and gave us the guestbook to sign, and showed us a little game they play in the bar! Very much up our street and would recommend it if you want somewhere chilled.
Great local pub that doesn’t make you feel out of place or “foreign”. I came here on a Friday night when it was busy but the bartender was still extremely welcoming, friendly and hospitable. Drinks were extremely affordable and the facility was very clean. Plus it has MV pizza next door, which has great gluten free options. Highly recommend.
Visited 12th April 2023, 2 Brits who wanted a beer away from the more touristy places. Lovely lady at the bar, great sports channels, beer tasted good and we certainly enjoyed the 6 or 7 beers we had there, plus the complimentary popcorn -loved the half day we whiled, supping, listening to awesome music and watching all kinds of sports. Plus beers were very reasonable, best value on trip for me.
A great little bar just up the road from the ferry and the lighthouse museum. Staff were very friendly and a nice selection of local beers at a very reasonable $6 a pint. We didn't eat but the menu looked great.
Great drink prices! Great service! Only concern the bathroom doors run high.
The atmosphere is great, the bartenders and owners are awesome. The food is great too!
Great place to stop before a concert at the st.george. a couple of $3.00 tap beers and a burger for a tune up.
Simple bar. But lovely place.. Interesting characters and very friendly. Good chill out place
Burger is nice, they switched the TV to euro cup when we asked. Make sure to bring cash though or don't split the tab because they don't let you pay for less than $20 with card.
Great local bar where you can just relax and have a nice time. Food is served, great nachos supreme, but call and make sure kitchen is still open and one draw back is they only take cash.
Stopped for a couple of beers after getting off the Staten Island ferry. Staff were friendly and the drinks choices were good.
Down to earth pub with a decent selection of beers. The vibe is, neighborhood watering hole. They don’t offer food right now.
Only reason it does not get 5 stars: Cash only. No credit cards. Good bar food. Generous drinks.
Nice local bar, had there food and was very surprised at how tasty it was. Karaoke night is very lively also.
This is a quaint dive bar close to the ferry. We topped in after walking around the neighborhood. The place appeared to be mostly a local watering hole as most of the people in the place were in business attire. Draft selection was mostly popular domestics with a few local craft brew on tap. The food selection was minimal, so we went next door for a New York slice of pizza. I would recommend for tourists that want a taste of local (Staten Island) atmosphere.
Nice little place. We had a bacon cheeseburger, eggplant parmesan, and my son asked for chicken tenders which they did not have, but were very kind enough to fry him up a breaded chicken cutlet and sliced it up. Waitress was very sweet. Tried the Death By Coconut beer here for the first time... everything was very good.
Nice place. Good drink prices and happy hour. I will say now this is a cash bar. No atm inside but you can get cash a few stores down on the same block. I can't remember what days exactly but they do karaoke.
A great hole in the wall bar with a fairly older clientele. Its a dive in an up and coming neighborhood, but it's not repellant. That sounds like faint praise but it's actually a pretty great low key watering hole. Only knock against it is that it's cash only.
Nice bar, no Yuengling though (that's why I didn't 5 stars). $7 Guinness, and Replacements were playing on the jukebox
Great Reuben if I didn't notice the ATM I would've left it's cash only and the waitress barkeep made no attempt in letting me know was already saying bye. As for atmosphere if it wasn't for this one cool old dude Billy Kelly talking to me I would've been bored eating alone funny as hell 🤣 a vegetarian but drinks and smokes 😂
A great spot with super friendly bartenders and staff, who are all great to talk to, and ready to help you pick a beer or drink that you will love. Not the biggest menu, but the things that are on the menu are great. I particularly recommend the black and blue burger… Probably my favorite thing to get there, along with a cold pint. A little cramped during lunchtime and immediately after work, but still one of my favorite pubs on Staten Island!
This place was ok. Bartender was friendly, and they make their own iced tea and lemonade it seems like. However, the bar is really, really small and I'm not a fan of crowded places.
Just found this place after exiting staten island ferry popped in for a beer and a sandwich small friendly bar even serve Newcastle brown ale enjoyable experience food and drink excellent
Very underwhelming. We found much better down the street around the bend. Drinks were a bit weak.
Great local dive bar. It doesn't have many tables, so get there early if you're going prior to a show. Drinks were cheap, bar food was good and staff was on top of things, would go again.
On basis on the food (excellent home made roast beef and quesadillas) and draft beers this pub would have earned five stars. When getting the check I thought the amount to be paid quit high. Only cash is accepted. This was written on the back of the check. When I paid I wanted to calculated the tip to be left, and turned the check over. But before I could check the amounts the check was taken away from me and the bar lady turned her back to me. Apparently the bar lady already added the tip to the bill as we are tourists. If she would have announced this this wouldn't have been a problem for me, but now it spoiled or experience.
Good place to have a beer and watch some sports on Staten Island. Well located, near the fairy terminal, with affordable beer and relaxed environment. The bartender is a friendly guy, was cracking jokes with patrons the entire time we were there. Next time in NYC will definately go back for a budd!!
