La Pollera de Mario Sunnyside Reviews
Little pricey but the food is worth it So good every single thing ive eaten here is delicious
this place is so beautiful service is good and the food is just amazing outstanding 🥰
The restaurant is very well put together and organized. Ms. Carolina was also very kind and helped me and my group a lot with our friends birthday. Food was also very delicious and authentic.
Ms. Carolina was extremely kind and welcoming! The food was amazing and the service was even better! The environment too felt very welcoming and the place is beautiful and clean.
I've been coming here for years. Even prior to the beautiful renovations. I love how they still kept the old school layout and blended it with the new layout. The food is always fresh and delicious. This is one of my favorite places to eat in queens. Their catering is also top notch. I ordered food for a big party and everyone devoured the food.
La Pollera de Mario was a pleasant discovery in the Sunnyside neighborhood. Colombian cuisine is not that common even in the diversity of NYC restaurants. They have affordable daily specials. The fish fillet (filete de pescado, $12.95 plus tax) was light, moist and tender and came with rice and beans. Service was warm and gracious. The atmosphere was relaxed but lively.
Authentic Colombian food. From the portion sizes to the seasoning, you can't go wrong ordering some good Colombian food. Personally, I think the menu is way too complex and way too many options. Options that are not even Colombian, which I found unnecessary & distracting. Service was good. However, they brought appetizers and mains at the same time. Given the generous portions, there was simply no room in the table for all the dishes. Drinks were ok & environment, cozy. Def enjoyed my meal & will not hesitate to come back if in the area. P.s: never seen Yuka fries done this way. They were ok. And their green sauce, uffff so good.
I stopped by here for lunch and the flavors were delicious! I ordered a passion fruit juice that tasted exactly like passionfruit. It was really refreshing and then I ordered 1/2 roasted chicken with rice and beans. The order also came with Maduros. The plantains were sweet and flavorful. I really considered ordering a side order. I also ordered the beef empanada and loved that it had potato in it with the beef. I would definitely go back. The portions were large. I had enough for lunch, dinner and lunch again.
I am rating the delivery service. Every time I order delivery, the delivery guy expects me to tip him 20% over. He shows the POS and selects a 20-25% tip. This is ridiculous!! I am not eating in the restaurant; the delivery guy is not serving my food or offering water or bringing a drink to me. Someone tell their delivery staff to back off.
I placed an online order and when I went to pick it up they charged me all most 30$ more then the prices are showing online .the manager supposed to call back and he never did.the food was not great and the prices are crazy.i would never go back or recommend to anyone.
The restaurant is beautiful through the outside and inside gorgeous decorations, but when I went in there, the service was horrible when I tell you horrible. I sat down there with my wife and two children, and it was seven minutes in Nobody acknowledges my wife went to the bathroom to change the baby came back and It was about 20 minutes and still nobody acknowledge us and on top of that the place was empty.
Waiter didn’t hand us the full food order until I checked the menu again and we were missing two salads. Apart from that the original price is not listed in the menu so be prepared to pay for a plate an extra $2 per meal. I don’t mind paying NYC taxes of course it’s the law! but not informing us that there is an additional up charge $18 for gratuity is questionable. I was going to give them $15 tip ! but they already tipped themselves without asking.
The food is very average nothing special, the fries seemed to be fried in very old oil. The salad was warm and tomatoes were soggy and not to mention they only give you about 3 cucumbers and one piece of tomatoe I even asked if it was someone else’s unfinished salad.. just didn’t even look safe to eat. The staff not very welcoming . Not coming back.
