Just when I was searching for bubble tea near me - I walked by this little gem near the Train in Sunnyside on 40th street. First of all the place is the cutest thing and of course perfect for social media. Not only do they sell bubble tea but you can get amazing bao buns and rice bowls. Both are extremely yummy and priced amazing !! Literally making it a goal to try the whole menu. Definitely recommend it , staff is so nice and place super clean. You are missing out.

If you have the money... you can expect great product. Mango slushie with brown sugar boba, and a bbq pork over rice bowl. I wish I had enough to buy a second serving of both. Only two small cons were the price is pricey but definitely worth the quality and execution of food and drink. The extra brown bag and packaging like lids weren't necessary for me because I grabbed a table and had it to stay. Next time if you are a customer tell them if you are dining in and they can save a few cents on packaging.

The signature drink, buncha tea, is really nice and comforting, and even the takoyaki has a reallt nice texture and has such a great taste.

Better than Gongcha! We’ve been going back and forth between Mr. Buncha and Gongcha in LIC comparing for the past few weeks. The taste is stronger, bubbles are softer/better, portion’s slightly more and price I think is similar if not lower at Buncha. The only thing I wish they’d change is the lid; their half opening lid gets messy and sloppy sometimes. But Mr. Buncha is a solid bubble tea choice in the area and we’ll be going there regularly. Thanks for being in Sunnyside!!

All of our drinks were well flavored with perfectly chewy bubbles. We got buncha milky, strawberry fresh milk, and the fizzy butterfly pea yuzu. Everything was also reasonably priced. We're looking forward to being regulars here.

This place is easily my favorite boba spot in Sunnyside. It's a tiny spot right by a Chip City just to the side of QueensBlvd. My two go-gos are Strawberry milk tea (pictured) and BrownSugar which are both equally fantastic here. Sometimes they do add too much boba in the drinks so make sure to ask for a little bit if you only want a little bit. The folks working there have always been very nice and cool. It'll continue to be my fav boba joint in Sunnyside! Note--you can order some food here but there are no bathrooms.

Great quick snack/lunch place. The chicken poppers is very good. They cook it with secret spice rub, which I love. They have cold and hot drinks on the menu. They also add seasonal items on the menu.

Although I’m not a bubble tea drinker, I do love bao and this place makes really delicious bao. So far I’ve tried the Signature and BBQ pork, the chicken, and the crispy tofu and all are great. Can’t wait to try the rest of their dishes. Service is pleasant and super speedy and the prices are extremely reasonable. Highly recommend.

Everyone working so friendly and sweet there, we are so glad they opened up :) We got: The buncha, which was delicious and not too sweet. The quick-pickled vegetables on the side were nice and tangy, a good complement to the soft buns. A taro milk tea with bubbles and milk foam— soo good And a Vietnamese coffee with bubbles Can’t wait for our next trip for boba!

Their boba is quite good — got the Buncha Milky, a decaf brown sugar bubble tea with cheese foam. It’s available in 3 different sweetness levels and 2 sizes. The big surprise were their buns. My wife and I got the Ebi Tempura, Grilled Chicken, and classic pork buns, all of which were excellent. Perfect texture and flavor. The tempura and chicken buns both had very fresh, flavorful veggies.

In my long search for a great tofu bun, I may have finally found the one. And the fact that I don't have to go far for it makes it even better. The crispy tofu bun was so delicious here - tofu is crispy as advertised, but still tender and juicy on the inside, with a finger-licking sauce, fresh scallion and cucumber and greens, all on a fresh bun. I also got the butterfly pea yuzu bubble tea - so refreshing and the perfect balance between sweet and citrus. Great to have Mr. Buncha in the neighborhood. Will definitely be back to try more tea flavors and for more delicious tofu buns.

I am been waiting for a cute bubble tea place in Sunnyside and I can't believe there is one now!!!! I love the unique menu and the classic milk tea was delicious. One side note, I wish the tapioca pearls was little softer other than that it was great!

I ordered the Ebi Tempura and the rose milk tea with bubbles. The milk tea was a bit too sweet but as the ice melted it got better and the rose taste was great. The bubbles are soft, chewy, and slight sweet. The Ebi Tempura is simply amazing. It comes with pickled carrots, peppers, and radish on the side that compliment it perfectly. It tastes like perfection.

I ordered the brown sugar milk tea with crystal pearl (recommended by the staff). You definitely can taste the brown sugar, and not the artificial brown sugar flavor. As described by the staff, the crystal pearl is similar to boba in shape and clear with the texture of aloe. I really liked how it wasn't overly chewy. We also ordered the lava custard bun, which was basically a sweet custard bun. The custard definitely oozed like lava. It was good, though the bun part was a bit hard (I prefer mine a bit soft). Next time I will definitely come try the Pinksky (which is fresh milk, strawberry smash, butterfly pea, and cheese foam) which my friend got and it was a beautiful ombre you would see at sunset. The staff was super friendly and there is a mini seating area inside the cafe, which they let us stay in for a while (as it was raining). This place is also affordable as drinks were about $4-$6.

The butterfly pea yuzu was great! The pinksky was more on the sweet side, great option if you have a sweet tooth. The baos were delicious, however, the pork buns weren’t that good.

The butterfly pea is delicious. The spicy chicken buns could be better. They put a small amount of chicken & a lot of lettuce.

I'm a returned customers for their grilled salmon over rice. I wasn't happy about the portion comparing to the previous few times I have before. This time was a mistake 4 leaflet of salad, 3cut square avocado, 2 sliced cucumber. I finger size salmon. The last few time when I order, there's 2 pieces of salmon of the salmon is like a one half finger size, a bunch of salad, generous 8-9 , pieces of cut square avocado. Comparing to a to go tea shop charging a restaurant price, the previous order portion is about right, not the last miserable potion, don't get me wrong, is still very tasty and I think their potion should be standardized. They should think of what they are charging as they are not a standard restaurant, give and take, portion have to be at least minimal not least

Place is small, tea is good and food is good. They are just severely understaffed. Took over 15 minutes to get 2 bubble tea. Not trying to be rude but it’s just such a long wait and if they had simply told me that it could be a long wait I would have left. If you see people outside waiting just don’t even bother, or expect to wait 15-20 mins for food or tea.

Tasty drinks with cool concoctions, but the high prices for small servings take away from this otherwise solid Thai-based tea /snack food shop.

I love bubble tea but unfortunately this wasn’t the right place for it. Sickly sweet even when getting 30% sugar and the boba is rubbery and flavourless. For $8.17 (they charge you extra if you don’t get ice) I would expect more.

Found this place b/c my g/f wanted something light to eat and that it should be different from other takeout food. I bought 2 small bowls and two tea milk teas. They were very good but my complaint was that it is overpriced. The Buncha Over Rice Bowl were a bit small (e.g. 6" bowl) for $13 each it should have at the least an 8" bowl. The milk teas were reasonable for the size $5 each. Total was $39 plus tax. Seems like every eatery is downsizing big time. I would have given more stars for bigger size.

I ordered fresh mango milk with tapioca balls. The tapioca balls were not chewy at all. The boba was made not fresh. It was disappointing.

The service is horrible, the lady that is in the front desk is super rude... the half of the tea is normally ice and they charge you extra if you don't want more ice.

Clearly the lady took my order wrong, and then gave me the wrong tea, I told her I didn’t order that and she still charged me and I didn’t get the tea I initially wanted. Make sure you repeat your order!!! Horrible customer service

This was my first time coming here & I am not impressed. I ordered the mango matcha drink: the matcha wasn’t prepared or mixed in a way where it was dissolved and the mango purée/mango syrup was not good. Don’t recommend. I also got the rose milk tea which didn’t have enough rose flavor. I asked them to add more rose but they said they already added the measured amount. Basically just got milk tea with a splash of rose. If you like bubble gum flavor, then get the “pinky” drink. It wasn’t a personal favorite. The cheese foam on there wasn’t very thick or nice in texture. Lastly, as a snack, I got the chicken pop. It claims to have a secret seasoning & the seasoning was somewhat visible but severely lacking. I will say it was very crispy, which I like, but the “seasoning” tasted like it wasn’t even there. Would not come back.

Customer service can be hit or miss depending on at what time you go. Staffing is also hit or miss (I've had 5 minute waits, as well as 15 minute ones). Great tea though, hence the 3 stars. Update: unfortunately, my experiences have only deteriorated as time has gone on. I've gone twice (one of them tonight, May 10th, 2023) and paid for their highlight Milky Milky drink, Large with no ice (+0.50c). I got less than 12 bobas, and I know because I made it a point to count because you could tell there were not that many by just looking at the drink. Attaching a drink as proof and for visibility.
