Barn Thai Sunnyvale Reviews
I came across this place while looking for a spot that serves Tom Yum. We ordered Pad Thai, Thai Fried Rice, and Tom Yum Shrimp — it was an excellent experience! The woman who served our table was very kind and friendly, and the food was outstanding. The portion sizes were also very generous. I’ll definitely visit this restaurant again.
Yummy food. The noise and closeness of the diners bugged my dining companion, but I didn't mind. The food was tasty.
I love these so much, every time came to Santa Clara, I have to come here for a meal at least

Nice spot with picnic benches for outdoor seating. You order on a screen, take a seat and the food comes to you. Roti curry and Basil fried rice was very tasty!
We love this restaurant! We go often for dinner, and the green curry has ruined me for every other Thai restaurant’s green curry! we also love the papaya salad, the chicken satay, the stir-frys, and the mango sticky rice. The waitress is so sweet, and everything quickly comes out hot and fresh. I honestly don’t know how there are some bad reviews; we’ve gotten takeout for two large friend groups from here, and it was rave reviews all around.
My coworkers and I love this restaurant! We’ve never had a bad meal but the panang curry and spicy eggplant really stick out. And of course we never forget to get the roti appetizer
Been eating here going back 10+ years. Always delicious. Hadn't been for several years, started going again post pandemic, and was asked if I wanted my usual custom dish. What a welcome!!! Great food, great service!!! Inside and outside covered seating. Really nice people!!!
Good choice of vegetarian and vegan dishes. Confirm your food sensitivities with the server. Nice interior. Can be a bit busy during lunch hours. They have outdoor seating as well. Free parking lot at the plaza.
Great lunch special. I had the red curry and it was perfect!

Been going here for years and we love this place. Their Pad Thai and Penang curry are great. We recommend this place.
I like that place quite a bit. The food is good and spicy, although I limit myself to medium, in regards to spiciness level (could go hotter but then I'd have to deal with the heartburn). The waitress, who could be the owner, is super nice and always smiling. It's best to get there early for lunch because it gets packed quickly, compounding the fact that the place is small. If you get there at 12, you will probably have to wait 10-15min to get your dish. It's not a problem but something to be aware of.
The shrimp pad Thai is pretty decent here. I would have liked some peanuts but otherwise I liked the shrimp size, sauce, and egg amount.
Good food, it was quick for a late dinner. Restaurant was fairly empty at that time of night. I got the chicken fried rice and the waitress left an ice cold pitcher of water for me.

Came few times for lunch. Pad Thai is tasty. Portion size a bit shy. Should be more - then it will be 5 stars.

We visited during a weekday lunch, and although we ordered from the main menu, the portions felt more like those from a lunch menu. We tried the Drunken Noodles and Thai Fried Rice. The Thai Fried Rice was definitely tasty, but the Drunken Noodles could use some improvement. The portion sizes were just right for us, but they felt more like lunch portions rather than full dinner servings. Aside from that, we had a pleasant experience with our meal. We appreciated the option to select our dishes from a screen and pay before receiving our food, which allowed us to browse pictures and make our choices easily.
A solid weekday lunch location. Clean and has seating inside and out. Order via a kiosk or by a waitress. But waitress ordering takes a lot longer. They have a good lunch plate menu. Panang curry is my go-to test plate and they passed. They add a small veggie egg roll. I didn’t see an option for brown rice. Feb 2025 update. I enjoyed it even more this time and bumping to four stars. Panang curry is quite tasty. Same with pad Thai . Service was much faster this time, maybe because I ordered using the kiosk. Saves the one extra wait cycle for the waitress.

The Thai theme was well-executed, with decor and atmosphere that reflect the traditional Thai style. The service was notably late, which affected the overall dining experience. It took longer than expected for the food to arrive. Food is average and didn’t stand out as exceptional or particularly memorable in terms of flavor or presentation.

Literally the worst Pad Thai I ever had. The Thai Iced Tea was good, but all four of us did not want to even eat our meals.

Absolute worst experience! Went for lunch on a weekday. They were under staffed but customers were not informed. There were few customers who were already waiting for their food. We ordered using their automated ordering system. And then the wait began. After first 15 mins I walked to the kitchen and asked for water and settings. Yes, we did not have anything on our table. We got that after about 5-7 minutes. Close to 30 minutes since ordering I walked up to the kitchen to inquire on status of my food. It wasn’t complicated order, just a couple of stir fries with veggies and tofu and thai ice tea. I was told my food is on the way. So I waited furthermore. After another 15 minutes my son went inside and was told our food is coming. All this while there were other customers who were getting served and some ahead of us who ordered after us! Finally after waiting for an hour and getting super hangry, I went back inside and asked to cancel my order. And this part bothered me the most: the owner almost immediately and unapologetically agreed to cancel the order. This is the worst I have experienced in dining out. She did not even ask if I wanted a refund. I had ask her for refund and watched over the shoulder that I am getting my money back. I will definitely not come here again and advise everyone else I know to steer clear of this place!
The worst thai place in the bay area. All the things I ordered were bad taste, smelly because they were cooked may be the last day and portion was really bad. Never gonna come back here.
