Vanak Tarzana Reviews
Arguably the best Persian restaurant in SFV. Top notch customer service that goes well beyond what's typical. Quality food that tastes much better than the other 2 dozen or so Persian restaurants in and around Valley. This place is truly a hidden gem, should be on LA.Eater list.
We absolutely adore this restaurant! Everyone is so friendly and helpful. The food is fresh and delicious. I've tried so many new things here and have never been disappointed. They set the bar high for authentic Persian food in the valley. Highly recommend! 10/10
Been wanting to visit and finally made it over for lunch and it was amazing. Came on a Tues and the special was lamb shank, it was melt in your mouth goodness!! I can't wait to come back, the owner was the nicest guy and very hospitable.
The best Kaleh Pacheh I have ever tried in the US!!
I really can't believe this place! Maybe the most unique Middle Eastern restaurant with the kindest owners in the city. Sayed (I hope I'm writing it right) treats you like you're at his home, such a wonderful and gifted person. The food he made for us was amazing! Please try this place if you're open to new experiences.
This was the best and most delicious kebab I’ve ever had! The hospitality was absolutely outstanding, making the experience even more memorable. Highly recommend!
Highly recommeded! We had Kaleh Pacheh here for the first time and it was wonderful. I have to say I have resented eating Kaleh Pacheh for years since childhood, but I had it here this morning for the first time on years! The owner was very friendly and the customer service was great. The ambiance was nice, with a nice fountain inside the restaurant, and it was quite clean. We will definitely come back to try different dishes.
What an amazing place to dine Authentic Persian cuisine. Highly recommended. Amazing food. Great ambiance and fresh food and everything was perfect. It runs by family and great service. See you soon.
This is our go-to spot for kebabs. The family here is super nice and their generational recipes taste for themselves. I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for authentic Persian food with great service.
A great place to have some tasty Persian dishes and sandwiches. Their kabob is must try. Also their cutlet sandwich is my favorite. The owner is a really nice person also they have a great staff and definitely worse trying this place. They have (barbari) bread too and other Persian goodies.
Everything from the quality of the food to customer service was phenomenal. We will definitely be back and I totally recommend this place to everyone.
It was hands down the best Kaleh Pacheh we have ever had. I went with my parents, who have very high standards when it comes to Iranian food since they grew up in Tehran, and they absolutely loved it. They said that you cannot even get this level of quality in Iran! The owner is also extremely kind and provided us with incredible service. We only had the Kaleh Pacheh, but I am sure that the rest of Vanak's menu will certainly not disappoint.
Definitely one of the best Persian food I have had in CA ,, not only the food is soo good but the owner and stuff are also super nice and friendly.. definitely my new to go to spot
I recently visited Vanak restaurant, and it was a pleasant experience. The place is cozy, with a relaxed atmosphere perfect for a casual meal. The staff was very friendly and quick to take our orders. My son ordered Joojeh Kabsb, which was juicy and flavorful, served with a side of rice. I ordered Abgoosht, and I loved how fresh and well-seasoned it was. It reminded me my childhood traditional abgoosht places in Tehran. The prices were reasonable, and the portions were just right. Overall, Vanak is a great spot for a quick and tasty meal. I’ll definitely be back.
First of all before anything the service was 10 out of 10 for some reason on Google it showed close, but on yelp, it was open. Saied made it feel like I was at a family members restaurant while still bring the flavor. Mind you I was getting this service at 12:27 AM on a Sunday / Monday morning.
The best kalleh Pache we've had so far! My husband and I just came from Chicago to visit family, and my sister recommended this place. We'll be back in two months and will definitely return to this amazing spot :)
Loved it, loved it and loved it even more. Such wonderful place, great food and to top it all the service was even better. People don't faal for other places with their fake reviews and Instagram BS. Great authentic food and authentic people. Give it a shot and you will be regulars. Mr. Mohsen and Ms. Maliheh are the best... ❤️❤️❤️
I accidentally stumbled on this, it has the soul of traditional roadside Iranian Resturant which brought back some memories, their menu is very comprehensive and their dizzi was great. The owner is very kind as well
Food was great we got excellent service. The food wasamazing. We ate everything. Owner was also kind enough to give us free items. Thank you so much. We will be back.
We had a wonderful experience at Vanak! The food was absolutely delicious authentic Persian flavors that were rich, fresh, and beautifully presented. Chef and owner Mohsen truly knows how to deliver a memorable meal. The entire staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home. Their hospitality was top-notch and added so much to the experience. The prices are very reasonable for the quality and portions you get. We’ll definitely be coming back. Highly recommend Vanak for anyone craving amazing Persian cuisine and warm service!
Kalepache was good, but a little expensive in comparison to their location.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at this wonderful restaurant. The warm and clean ambiance provided a welcoming atmosphere, making it a comfortable place to enjoy a delicious breakfast. The pricing was affordable and reasonable, offering good value for the quality of the food and service. The owner was not only polite but also added a personal touch to the dining experience. The dishes were impeccably clean, reflecting the restaurant's commitment to hygiene. I highly recommend this establishment for anyone seeking a delightful and satisfying breakfast. Try Kalle Pacheh 😋
This place is an absolute GEM for Iranian food, most importantly Iranian specialty dishes. Excellent service and hospitality has been beyond exceptional. These gentlemen are outstanding. This place will cause severe Nostalgia for anyone who has been to an authentic restaurant in Iran. The atmosphere is 10/10 on feeling like Iran! And the food, just…WOW! Just Perfect. Phenomenal food!! P.S. And the owners just went far above and beyond to show their gratitude for our business and review with delicious hot tea and dessert! This place is truly a unique gem in every sense!!
Update: What a yummy place, Love atmosphere of this cozy place, the owner is always friendly and welcoming to us , and I love the place because whatever they make, has a taste of homemade food specifically the Kale Pache, I recommend everyone to try their menu and you gonna love it . One of the best Persian restaurant-bakeries. The owner make us welcomed every single time, he make the best Cale Pache, it’s so tasty, delicious, well cooked and melted in your mouth, they also make other food and Barbari bread which is yummy, thanks to the owner a lot for the great hospitality.
Vanak Bakery truly has the best "kale pacheh" in town! Every visit feels like coming home. The owner is incredibly hospitable, making you feel welcome from the moment you step in. They serve the best halim, delicious noon barbari, and the finest tea. Everything is top-notch and authentically Persian. If you're looking for a cozy spot with exceptional food, this is the place to be! Highly recommend!
Vanak was very welcoming, and everything was really good. The Kale-pache was great, and the place was clean too. we really enjoyed it!
Came in for the first time in the evening. Ordered the filet mignon shish kabob and it was delicious. Everything is fresh. Very authentic Persian restaurant. The guy at the counter was amazing. He was very friendly and let me try some beef koobideh and it was also very good. I am definitely returning to this place.
The food was amazing. It was the most authentic kubideh(beef kebab) and kalepache. The owner was very nice and welcoming, he explained everything about the meet. Perfect place for Persian food.

Vanak Restaurant is an absolute gem in Reseda. The kabobs are top-tier — perfectly seasoned, juicy, and grilled just right every time. You can taste the quality in every bite. And the kash-e bademjan? Hands down one of the best I’ve had. Rich, smoky, perfectly balanced, and made the way it’s supposed to be. Comfort food at its finest. The portions are generous, the food is consistently fresh, and the flavors feel authentic and homemade. If you’re craving real Persian food done right, Vanak is the spot. Highly recommended — I’ll definitely be back again and again.
Really good Persian food and one plate would be able to feed 2-3 people. I got a plate with chicken, steak, and Koobideh which was served with basmati rice, Shirazi salad and a tasty bread on the bottom of the meat. The bread gave it a nice texture and a savory taste. As dessert I got a hot tea with baklava that was made from turkey and I highly recommend it, the baklava has no fructose syrup at all and was made with natural ingredients like ghee, and was so moist compared to other places where I’ve had baklava. The service was incredible our server was very attentive and gave us good recommendations! I will definitely be coming back

Went to Vanak Restaurant and Bakery for a Persian brunch and had such a great experience. We ordered Kale Pacheh, a classic Persian brunch staple, and it did not disappoint — flavorful, comforting, and very well prepared. The owner and staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, which made the experience even better. Portions were generous — easily enough for two people — and the food was genuinely tasty and satisfying. Highly recommend if you’re looking for authentic Persian brunch in a welcoming, warm environment. We’ll definitely be back.

Food was delicious but the rice and grilled jalapeño was old, not fresh. Quality was poor I ordered by uber.

I ordered one chicken Kabob and one Ashe Reshteh, neither items were on the menu nor price. The chicken Cornish was supposed to a a full small chicken, it was three legs different sizes, half of one breast and one small thigh. (Bits and pieces from different orders I suppose)$30 . The Ash was cold, with 95% beans and noodle , could not see much greens, and tasted as if it was at least a week old. A very small bowl appetizer size charged us $20. The service was terrible, and when I asked about the validity of the prices charged, the owner answered as if he was doing me a favor. There was a $2 charge that he didn’t even know what the charge was for and he replied, well I didn’t charge you tax so it’s okay 🤔
Worst Kaleh Pacheh experience ever. The dish smelled rotten, and when I brought it to the chef’s attention, I asked to replace it with Koobideh instead — which also turned out to be low quality. When I asked for the bill, the chef told me he couldn’t serve the rejected Kaleh Pacheh to anyone else, so he would charge me half price. Not only was this unreasonable, but the original menu listed it at $45, and he claimed it was $55 — for a dish that was clearly spoiled. Instead of arguing, I decided to share this experience in a review.
The food was awful, I’ve been sick and feel very nauseous, my stomach hurts and I feel very bad, I ate the sheep’s head and feet. The food was very expensive, I did not pay to get sick.
It would be great if the ding dong running the phones could count past 1. He can’t seem to grasp the concept of ordering an item 1x or 5x and will send whatever he pleases regardless of the price paid.
We ordered tea and the cups they served were visibly dusty and still had the retail stickers on them. When we pointed this out and politely requested clean cups, the owner refused to wash or replace them. Instead, he told us to pay for the tea and leave, even though we could not drink it. He then told us not to return. This smelly store ignores basic hygiene and basic customer service. We will not be coming back.
Today 12/30/2026 I got one plate kale pache in the vanak restaurant Unfortunately I never liked this food the bread was lavash that i have never eaten this food with lavash bread and it was always and everywhere sangak bread , the quality of food was not bad and the flavor and taste very plain and never tasted kale pache it was my honesty experience of Vanak restaurant ✌🏽
Just ordered their Tachin through Uber eats. It was srale and tasted/smelled like rotten eggs. I've had Tachin all my life. This one was so bad not sure if I can even call it Tachin. Unfortunately Uber eats me a refund either while I had to through it in the trash.
