Thai Cafe Temple Reviews
For reasons I still cannot fully explain, Temple has developed a remarkably strong culinary scene. Italian, Mexican, and Thai cuisines are represented there with a level of quality, flavor, and aesthetic presentation that consistently exceeds expectations. I have previously written reviews about Pignetti’s and Las Marias. Today, while driving back from Houston to Abilene, I stopped at Thai Café in downtown Temple. What an experience. Moni handled my order, and within minutes, my food was ready. I ordered the summer rolls and the crab noodle soup. The rolls, at first glance, resemble the standard versions you might find at HEB, Kroger, or similar grocery stores. However, what these very thoughtful chefs have done is elevate the dish with a distinctive dipping sauce and the addition of fresh basil, which transforms the rolls into something vibrant and unexpectedly complex. The flavors truly open up in a way that feels intentional and refined. But the real highlight was the crab noodle soup. It made my entire day. Thai Café is about three hours from my home, and I would genuinely consider making that drive on a Sunday just for this bowl of soup. The portion was generous, with abundant crab and noodles, and the broth was rich, layered, and deeply satisfying. I ordered it mild, but to my palate it was not spicy at all. Next time, I will not hesitate to ask for the full heat. If you find yourself in Temple, Thai Café is not optional. It is essential.
The food was amazing. Delicious, fresh, hot and generous portions. Great menu. Everything we ordered was delicious and beautifully served.
I am very pleased with Thai Cafe. Their curry is some of the best I've ever had. Spiced perfectly, hot and delicious. So glad we have such high caliber Thai food right here in the heart of Temple.
Everything I ordered was great. The only thing I thought wasn't was the crab rangoon it was heavy on the garlic. Service was great and love the bistro vibe. Definitely worth coming back to.
Delicious flavor, friendly service, lovely atmosphere. We ordered the Seafood Tom Yum to share and the Fried Fish Patties as an appetizer. Very tasty and flavorful. The Thai Tea and Thai Coffee were so good! Highly recommend. Rich flavor without being too in your face, and creamy and sweet but not overly so. 10/10 The owners also have an absolutely lovely store around the corner called Bon Bon Market. Do yourself a favor and be sure to check it out before or after your meal!
It was my first time in Austin! Just googled and tried this place. The food was super authentic. Reminding me of Thailand so much. Service was good. Stuff took care of me very well and was super friendly! My favorite dish was Steamed fish with thai herbs making me feel like home so much. Definitely come back here if I visit Austin again!!! 10/10!!!
This restaurant attracted my attention because it was so cute. I thought it was a coffee shop instead of an actual restaurant. I didn't expect much, but all the dishes I ordered were better than I expected. This restaurant serves the best Thai food in Killeen, Temple area. Despite being located downtown, plenty of parking exists in front and across the street.
Love this cafe!! I contacted them before visiting and they said all of their dishes could be made Vegan and Gluten-Free! The Green Curry with Tofu was so delicious and so were the Summer Spring Rolls with Tofu and Peanut Sauce!! I will definitely have to go back to try more dishes soon.
I would highly recommend this place. The food is incredible and at an outstanding value. The service is great and I love the atmosphere. I will also mention if you are into heat they are capable of scaling it very high while also preserving the great flavor of their food. I think every time I come here I debate ordering a second dish just so I have even more leftovers.
AMAZING PLACE TO EAT!! I don't normally take photos of my food but these dishes definitely deserved to be shown off. We had the Pad Thai Noodles with soft shell crab and Lemon grass soup with seafood. Out of all the Thai restaurants I've been to, THIS place is hands down the BEST one I've ever eaten at. Food was amazing and service was amazing, we will definitely be coming back here often.
The food was delicious and plenty. I couldn’t finish even half of what I ordered. I would totally eat here again next time I’m in the area. The only reason why I took off a star is due to this one particular issue. There was a roach in the bathroom just in there hanging out not trying to leave. Maybe fumigate the place some more or something. The place was chill and relax and the food was on point!
They were understaffed for lunchtime and our waitress was less than enthusiastic to be working. The food was good but the entire experience was lackluster overall, and it took over an hour from being seated to getting our check. We will not go back or recommend.
I eat Thai food once weekly and have been to Thailand. I was excited to eat here since I drove out from Houston and wasn’t expecting Thai food in Temple. Their green curry was delicious - great coconut taste but could use more spice. Pad Thai wasn’t authentic sadly. It was too sweet and tasted nothing like traditional pad Thai does. The quantity of tofu and vegetables in both dishes was perfect, especially since most Thai restaurants don’t add a lot of tofu. I’d come back here again but wouldn’t order the pad Thai.
This is some of the worst food I have ever purchased. The crab ragoons had yellow curry in them which I have never tasted in a crab ragoon before and if they're gonna put that stuff in there they should let you know before you waste your money buying it. The chicken Satay had some kind of weird coating on it and the peanut sauce didn't even taste like peanuts, it too tasted like yellow curry.I was disgusted.I will never even walk in that place again. i threw the food away! If they refunded my money , I would consider removing this review, but I could not recommend it to my worst enemy , because it was so horrible
Good evening, I won't be rude, but I will say what I think about the food I ordered, to begin with, it took an hour for my food to arrive, mind you, I ordered from that place because my wife recommended it, but when they served me the food, all I saw was colorless rice and full of white onions, I want to believe that they have a bad cook, it is the worst fried rice I have ever tasted, I was a cook for 20 years, I worked in large restaurants, but never in my life as a cook have I presented food like that, it is an embarrassment to your restaurant, but well, I would not order food from that restaurant again, I speak from experience because I am Peruvian, one of the best gastronomy in the world, the best restaurant is Peruvian, and I know a lot about international food, thank you
I never really write reviews but here we go. I was truly excited about trying the food here. I ordered salt and pepper prawns, chicken fried rice and mango sticky rice. I feel like the food is very basic to be over priced as it is. Paying $27 dollars for 7 pieces of shrimp (they were not prawns) with peppers and onions was crazy. The sticky rice was not fully cooked and the times that I enjoyed mango sticky rice it was cooked with calrose or sushi rice NOT jasmine rice, i thought it was odd especially for $8 dollars. The chicken fried rice was extremely basic and didn't have much flavor. I'm not sure if it was because i ordered my food to go but this was pitiful. It was a wasted $50 dollars.
