Restaurante Axitla Tepoztlán Reviews
After the hike down from the Tepozteco archaelogical zone and pyramid, we were ravenous. This place did not dissapoint! We had excellent food, drinks and service. Don't miss it
Best breakfast place in Tepotzlan. Great staff. Free coffee refills. Beautiful outside terrace that's suitable for romantic meals or family dinners.
Excellent, our best restaurant experience in Tepoztlán. The food is very good, waiters are very good, and it's great to sit outside on the garden terrace. Prices normal for this type of restaurant. We can recommend the cecina, the hot cakes, the omelets, and the fresh carrot juice. We went there for a late breakfast after the hike to the pyramid.
Gorgeous restaurant (keep walking, this restaurant is hidden down the beautiful, long winding walk path) Service and food were both amazing. Would definitely return!
It's been a couple of years since we visited last time but we are definitely coming back next time we are in Tepotzotlan, the food is delicious and prices are very fair on all items. The terrace is a gem after hiking the busy route to Tepozteco, here you can sit and relax and enjoy the quietness 😊
Beautiful place to enjoy exquisite tasting food. Excellent customer service. If you are visiting this magical place I highly recommend to try Restaurante Axitla.
Ran into this place randomly. Excellent food, absolutely beautiful, and great service. Would have been perfect for a pre hike breakfast, but we enjoyed a post hike cervesa.
Beautiful place!. Nice for brunch. Food it's ok but can be better. Prices are according to place/flavor/presentation. Recommended!!!!
We had planned to eat breakfast before our hike up the Tepozteco. We had not found a spot and luckily we ran into Axitla. This was was not only scenic but also had great food and service. We requested a table in the patio area not knowing that we would get an incredible view of the Tepozteco. We were looking for a light meal being that we were about to take on a good hike. However, we did not realize how well served their plates were. This is not a complaint tho, the food was delicious and extremely reasonably priced. I would suggest you stop by for breakfast or lunch after the hike, which by the way, the archeological site which houses the pyramid is still closed.
Google maps has the wrong address so if you end up at tepetztoco and los sauces keep going up the hill towards the pyramid to where the road splits to the right and a Few hundred meters Its on the right side Delicious food, lovely garden with hummingbirds, great service, Extensive menu, and they give high quality salads with special meals, fresh warm bread and yummy tortillas. Lots of special touches.
Fabulous traditional Mexican fare in a beautiful natural garden setting. Mole enchiladas are to die for. Sopa de Tortilla (tortilla soup) is absolutely incredible. Fresh side salads. The kind of place where you want to take your time, take in the surroundings, and enjoy the food at a leisurely pace.
Worth the walk to the end of town. Charming setting with trees and plants all around. Good food, Good service and reasonable prices.

I came into Tepoztlan to visit a friend who I’ve fished with in the US for 20 years. Came across Axitla at the end of town. Yes, out of the way, but worth the walk! Their setting is by the river an…
Incredible food ant atmosphere. Simply beautiful. After hiking to the pyramid and back this was an oasis. Cold water and wonderful food.

Love the location, the outstanding view and the atmosphere. Really amazing. Food was fine, although I was not impressed. We had chiles en nogada (nothing like the authentic ones from the city), pulpo en su tinta, quesadillas, enchiladas, cochinita pibil, all good, but not amazing. The side salad was really good! The attention was spectacular, they did not forget a single thing we asked for, and never said no to any of our requests. All in all, a great place if you want to have a good time, feel taken care of, enjoy a great view and good food at a very reasonable price.
Good place for a relatively expensive lunch in a beautiful outdoor setting. This place is situated nicely in what feels like a garden in the first, and so the atmosphere is the best reason to go to this place. The service was the worst part. We never felt checked on; instead, we had to flag a server down every time we wanted something. The food was good. We enjoyed chile en nogada and chicken in rice with mole. Spent about $300mxn per person.
At the foot of Tepozteco is this wonderful restaurant. Secluded in an oasis of green and small airy terraces, surrounded of lush green gardens (so convenient for in these times of COVID). Its menu …
This place is beautiful! But, food lacks and could be better! We ordered the chilaquiles and the chips tasted stale + the salsa was not spicy at all! The chicken quesadilla was ok, the beans were bland, but the soup was great! The limonada was good, but needed just a bit more sugar (it was too sour), and the service could be a bit better! The place is cute, but there’s honestly so many restaurants in that same street offering stunning views like the one they offer! Give another place a try, 100% you’ll like it more!
Arrived. No one would take the order until we asked them. Drinks took 30 minutes to arrive. food took over one hour. Taste was average. No one would bring the bill. Wouldn’t come back.
