I was recently chatting with a taxi driver, a young man who is an expert on the city's taco places: Los Cocuyos, El Greco, the stew tacos on Dickens and Ibsen, Polanco, and the machitos on Calle 8 by Zaragoza. I was telling him it was very difficult to find well-made carne asada tacos like the ones in Sonora, but that I had found an excellent place. Well, the friend answers right away: There are some very good ones in Tizapan, San Angel, they're on a cobblestone street. Well, what can I say? The friend knows it all. And yes, those are the s's, El Rincon de Sonora, Rifa, they're delicious.
Excellent quality tacos. The flavor of the charcoal and the seasoning in every bite remind you of the oxcarts of the north. They have a wide variety and everything is delicious. Highly recommended if you're studying in the area; and the trip from another location is worth it just to try them.
