My wife and I decided to try something new and head to downtown Toledo to see what all the fuss was about. Avastruz Is worth the drive! The menu had a great selection. Neither one of us typically drink, but we decided to live dangerously! I had the Dirty Reamey and she had the Pain Killer. A nice way to start. I ordered the breaded walleye tacos and Brussels sprouts for dinner, while Jennifer ordered the beef, short rib, enchiladas and potatoe bravas. Both have excellent flavor and were just the right portion. Our server Jon was on top of it at all times! Even though we didn’t get the opportunity to enjoy the patio, we did see it, and it’s probably one of the best in town! I’m a firm believer in supporting small businesses and this is one worth supporting. Everyone should make a point to visit Avestruz!

Serving small plates filled with good food. The food was top-notch. The Wild Mushroom Enchiladas was very flavorful. Brussel Sprouts had cheese and chili-honey--yum! My wife and I enjoyed the visit.

We had heard good things and finally stopped by to checkout the latest restaraunt in our Neighborhood. The staff was very friendly the atmosphere was very calm on a tueaday night. We ordered the chefs choice option and were able to try many dishes. The smoked salmon and tanale bites were great, the Ceasars salad was refreshing, but the crispy mushroom risotto and short ribs was AMAZING! To drink I would really recommend the hibiscus Paloma, and the brownie for dessert. We can't wait to come back and try more of the tapas!

Went here by recommendation from a friend and was not disappointed! The Potato Bravas was the STAR. If there is one thing you have to try, it’s that. The green chile queso is also stellar. Prime rib and pork belly were delicious. Cannot recommend this place enough! The bar across the alley, Molly’s, plays live music and they will also bring the Avestruz food over if that’s where you’d rather spend your evening. Such a cool spot! The area has so much potential and I can’t see what else opens up in the building. They have lights and projectors in the alley, it’s going to be an amazing spot in the summer.

Wonderful food and atmosphere! I think they’re still working on staff/getting into the groove of things, but overall really wonderful. We went for Valentine’s Day and they had awesome live music. Definitely recommend the tacos.

I was part of a table of 12 on a Friday night-Jane our waitress did an awesome job!! The food was awesome and margaritas were tasty!! All of the table loved the food!! I will be back!

Nice menu with some distinct dishes/flavors. Excellent service, friendly staff. Cool atmosphere. Great for a full meal or drinks and some small bites, whatever you are in the mood for.

Good food and cocktails, it did take 1.5 hrs to get 4 tacos for a party of four. We weren't in a particular hurry, but seemed a bit long to wait.

This is a new spot. Very well designed lots of seating. Nice outdoor area as well. The service was excellent. The bar tender was a little stiff and didn’t greet anyone. The food was very good at a fair price. I would recommend

First and foremost the service and people working were all friendly and attentive. Two of us split the tuna tostadas, green chile fondue and walleye tacos. Loved it all. Don’t miss this place.

The drinks, service, atmosphere was all great. They had a live dj that was playing great music. We did not like the tamale bites, or the lobster dip. The chicken enchilada saved the dinner.
