Papillon Torino Reviews
Very good pizza, excellent value for money. The atmosphere is a bit old-fashioned, but that's part of the place's charm. I'll be back often.
Very good pizza, both pan-fried and brick-baked. Forget about the various gourmet pizzas, this is pizza like it used to be. The family-run staff is always friendly and helpful.
Excellent pizza and delicious farinata. As Lecce natives, we'd never tried farinata, and the lady kindly offered us a generous sample, which we thoroughly enjoyed :) We'll return again and again.
Excellent pan pizza. Among the best in Turin. The atmosphere is a bit '80s-esque, but the staff is friendly and helpful. They also do traditional pizzas and takeout.
I stumbled upon it by chance on a Monday for lunch, and it turned out to be a great place! Friendly and welcoming owners, delicious pan pizza. The atmosphere is a bit warm; in the summer, a fan might be a good idea. Highly recommended!
A pizzeria like it used to be: tegamino or mattone, spectacular farinata, and a relaxed atmosphere. The perfect combination: absolutely recommended, and I'll have to come back to try the (homemade) desserts. Evening with friends: 2 farinatas to share, 6 pizzas, beer, water, Coke, and coffee for less than €15 each. I couldn't have asked for better! Thanks again ♥️
I've been going to this pizzeria since I was a child because it's a reference point for all of us who grew up in Pozzo Strada. Until the 1990s, pan pizza was eaten in Turin. It was everywhere, preceded by a generous portion of farinata with pepper. Now pan pizza is increasingly rare, replaced by gourmet pizzas or, even worse, by Poke and sandwich chains advertised by an influencer who asks you if you want it with or without crumbs or if your schiacciata is smoking. We're losing our bearings as we adapt to increasingly shoddy food delivered by poor souls under water, and we don't even care when the last neighborhood business that's been open for 40 years closes. Even though I no longer live in Turin, when I come back I sit at a table at Sibio even though they deliver. I don't care about the decor or the tablecloths; in fact, it's enough for me to know that the pan pizza and farinata will always be good, and that the lady who's known me since I was a kid will ask me how I am, because she still recognizes me despite my absence. Try it at the influencer guy's waiter and see if he'll remember who you are. P.S. The farinata is excellent, as always, and the pan pizza with cooked ham remains my favorite.
What can I say? A 100-year history! This is a place dear to my heart. The current management (in business for 40 years) took over from a Tuscan family who ran the business for another 40 years. The result? For 80 years, the best farinata in town! The courtesy of the lady and the young man in the dining room, combined with the quality of the ingredients used and the very fair prices, create a priceless mix. My grandmother, my mother, and now me... 3 generations of loyal customers who will certainly come back. Highly recommended!
It's been our go-to pizzeria for generations! The best pan pizza in Turin! Soft and crispy at the same time, and incredibly flavorful. The farinata is equally delicious—very soft and delicate! The atmosphere is friendly and welcoming. The staff is courteous and attentive, both in the restaurant and for takeout. It's easier to reach on foot than by car, as parking can be scarce. I've often ordered it to take home, too, and they're quick and attentive!
Small family restaurant, offering pizza both to eat at the restaurant and to go. They use a wood oven, so it gives a nice taste to the pizza. All is fairly priced, as in most small restaurants, so your wallet can take a break. My only reservation is that there is too much sauce for the 4 cheese pizza, and you need to wait a bit for the topping to cool down and harden a bit. Other than that, a recommended place to go for a quick bite. Also, staff is very nice and read more than happy to allow me to take a picture.
Pizza was ok. The owners are typical Italians that have their "food rules". Just wanted some extra sauce to dip the crust in, but they acted like I just cursed at them when I asked.
Let me start by saying that my family and I ended up there by chance, as I remembered a very good Neapolitan pizzeria instead of a Mexican restaurant with an attached pizzeria. We wanted to give the new management a try. We ordered pork in orange sauce with tacos. I didn't find the combination of flavors I was expecting. I can't say the dish was poorly executed, it just wasn't to my taste. I also tried the pizza my daughter ordered, a simple Margherita. It's no longer the excellent Neapolitan pizza I remembered. Another major drawback is the place itself: it still looks like a pizzeria. The service, however, remained pleasant.
I ordered 3 pizzas at Pizzeria Papillon and two were different than what I ordered. I called the pizzeria to tell them about the problem but they hung up and never answered. It's to be avoided plus the pizza that came tasted awful. I hope I don't throw up, but I'll keep you posted🥴🤮 The first picture is what I received and the other two are pictures from the website. Do they look the same?
