Ponte Barra Torino Reviews
Excellent cuisine, super appetizers and boiled meat! In addition to the courtesy and kindness! Recommended
An old-school restaurant! I had the boiled meat, which was very good; the cuts were classic, followed by dessert and coffee! The service was impeccable, and the waitress was very nice and friendly. I've never been before, and I plan to go back soon.
Recommended by a friend from Turin, I had lunch with my wife at this restaurant. The advice was excellent. We had the mixed Piedmontese appetizer, water, 1/4 bottle of red wine on tap, 2 delicious braised agnolotti, a fruit salad with ice cream, a bounet, and finally 2 coffees. The cost was €80, not exactly cheap, but I must say everything was perfect.
Family-run restaurant near the Basilica of Superga. We were greeted with a smile by the hosts and enjoyed excellent typical Piedmontese products: homemade cotechino and lentils, agnolotti with roast sauce, and ravioli al plin with meat sauce, all accompanied by an excellent house Barbera. Our first lunch of 2024 was more than satisfying! Family-run restaurant near the Basilica of Superga. Very tasty lunch and friendly service.
Possibly one of our best dinner in Turin during our trip. Pancheta, anchovies toast, gnocchi and anchioletti were amazing. And pancota was also a 10. Traditional place and very welcoming staff.
The restaurant offers an atmosphere reminiscent of traditional Piedmontese trattorias, with antique-style furnishings that contribute to a welcoming and distinctive atmosphere. The cuisine offers traditional dishes: the Alba pasta is truly excellent, the agnolotti with pumpkin and fondue have a refined and well-balanced flavor, while the rice timbale was a bit dry, giving the impression of having been pre-prepared and then reheated in the microwave. The staff is certainly friendly and helpful. Prices are a bit high for the setting, but overall the experience is positive and worth a visit.
Traditional food in a 70s-era place... and that's fine, but... having the owner/waiter on our necks all evening, eavesdropping on our comments... no way. The bill was fair, and we'll never see each other again.
We were a group of nine. We had given advance notice that we were in a hurry due to the tight reservation schedule for the day. They were extremely efficient, serving us an appetizer, first course, and dessert in an hour. Good, typically Piedmontese food. The atmosphere is dated, but those who appreciate it will be delighted with this traditional Turin trattoria.
More of a trattoria than a restaurant, in my opinion. I returned after 20 years and found the place not stuck in the past, but a bit worsened in terms of space, because the upper floor was once used as well, while now only the small dining room at the entrance remains. The appetizers are superb, especially the flan, and the main courses are excellent too, flavorful as they once were. The braised beef is tender, plentiful, and incredibly flavorful, just like my mom used to make. I'd return for that alone. They serve it with roasted polenta, but it would be even better with a nice mashed potato.
A historic Turin restaurant serving traditional Piedmontese cuisine. The staff are very friendly and courteous, and the food is excellent. I returned to Ponte Barra after many years and found the same pleasant atmosphere, perfect for dinner with family or friends. The wine list is also very good. The only small drawback is parking, which isn't always easy to find, but overall, Ponte Barra is truly a restaurant worth visiting if you love Piedmontese cuisine. The mixed Piedmontese antipasti, both hot and cold, the gnocchi alla bava, the traditional braised meat, and the bunet (a type of stew) are all excellent. Recommended.
Very traditional place, well-spaced tables and discreet (in the sense of not intrusive) and friendly staff. Difficult to find parking in the immediate vicinity. Dishes almost entirely of the Piedmontese tradition, decent appetizers (the mixed plate not exactly cheap), good first courses (ravioli del plin and risotto al Barolo, al dente), notable fried mushrooms. Fairly extensive wine list with reasonable prices. Overall a pleasant dinner with an overall adequate cost. We will return to try the other dishes. Rating: 7.5
The atmosphere of a traditional Piedmontese trattoria, with furnishings dating back to the late 1960s and waiters in keeping with the era, is timeless. You can enjoy the most renowned Piedmontese specialties, as well as lesser-known ones, expertly prepared. Prices are very competitive, and service is courteous.
I've eaten at this restaurant a couple of times with my family. I have no complaints about the food, but I can't say the same about the service. I went alone with the intention of having a quiet dinner. It was 9:00 PM and the waiters informed me that the kitchen was closed. I don't want to be picky, but a minute after I left, a couple entered the restaurant, I assume, to eat. I hope I'm wrong about this, but if it is true, I found it rude and inappropriate. If you plan on eating alone, keep this in mind, or maybe you'll be luckier than me.
