Trattoria Carmen Torino Reviews
Had a lovely meal here, the staff were so friendly and the food was incredible. Really nice traditional and homely atmosphere.
I had a wonderful dinner at Trattoria Carmen in Turin. The atmosphere is warm and authentic, with a true Piedmontese touch. The food was excellent. The vitello tonnato was one of the best I’ve ever had, perfectly balanced and flavorful. The pork dish was also outstanding, tender and cooked to perfection. Friendly service and great value for money. Definitely a place I would recommend to anyone visiting Turin and looking for genuine local cuisine.
Wonderful restaurant in the centre of Turin. Great wines, great food. Local and typical dishes. Highly recommended.
A Hidden Gem Worth Stopping For! We stopped by on a whim for lunch, and what a great decision that was! The food was absolutely amazing – it felt like a meal lovingly prepared by a grandmother at home. We were pleasantly surprised by the wine: a Rosé made from Nerello Mascalese grapes – light, fragrant, and perfectly balanced. To finish, we had a panna cotta with blueberries and a rich moka coffee – simply the perfect ending. Thank you to the wonderful team for such a memorable experience!
I ended up here by chance and it was a pleasant surprise. The food is simple but delicious, traditional flavors from local cuisine. The service is friendly, competent and very polite and the place itself looks great. I definitely recommend agnolotti, asparagi a la Bismarck (seasonal) and the apple, hazelnut crumble with ice cream. The prices are extremely fair for the location and quality of the product. If you get the chance, I recommend having a meal here.
Nice place for lunch. The person who took our order spoke English and French. Unique flavors with roquette pesto for example. Nice service and nice food.
We turned up on a Saturday night without a CV reservation and were fortunate to get an outside table The service and the food were absolutely fantastic! Would very highly recommend - but be better than we did, and book!
Favorite meal of our 4 days in Torino. We enjoyed the flavors that have given them their stellar reputation! The pastas (agnolotti del plin) were incredible. And our desserts (panna cotta and Bunet) We were fortunate to score the last available table for lunch on 23/5. And very much appreciated the accommodating staff when rain hit the outside tables.
Loved this place! It is very small ,but cosy and you better book it in advance. Broccoli & Cheese flan is a must antipasto, mouthwatering. Also strongly recommend trying out Ragu Al cinghiale, it was amazing. Staff very friendly and they make you feel like you are a part of a family :)
The only menu you will get your hands on is a wine list. The dishes will be explained to you by the waiter - if you don’t speak Italian, don’t worry, the staff speaks English. I strongly recommend taking a selection of antipasti: insalata russa, vitello tonnato, tatar, flan with cheese sauce. The portions were generous, and everything was delicious. Then we had agnolotti and gnocchi with cheese sauce (unfortunately, I don’t remember the cheese name, but it was absolutely amazing). The tiramisu was a perfect finish for this dinner. I visited this place on weekday’s evening, and a reservation is a must - I called the same evening and was lucky to get the last table.
We ate lunch here and loved it. No written menu but a thorough explanation of what’s on offer. A beautiful concise array of dishes all made with seasonal ingredients. Stand out dish was the artichoke heart in bread crumbs. An absolute delight! Well priced well served well gobbled up!

Upon arrival to the Trattoria Carmen we were slightly uncomfortable and with the language barrier (English -> Italian) making it hard there were some misunderstandings early on. Once we had a translator it made the experience much easier. If you go and do not speak Italian, I highly encourage you to bring a translator, be that a person or an app (like we did) in order to communicate better with the floor staff. The food was fantastic, being regional cuisine from Piedmont. The staff opened up once we started to use a translator and were much more accommodating as the meal went on. I recommend if you'd like a true, regional experience of Piedmont food and have a few hours to spare for dinner.
Wanted to try traditional Piedmontese cuisine and was recommended this place by my accommodation. Had the braised veal cheek which was tender and delicious. The torta croccante (crunchy cake) desser…
