This is a small privately owned store that is barely more than a taco stand. But! The kitchen is on full display to the road and passersby - nothing hidden here. Food was great, service was good - yes you have to order at the counter, there is no wait staff. Although we did not check out the outdoor seating, available even in the winter time. What we saw and heard were several people popping in the side door specifically to commend the owner. Everything is gluten free - a huge bonus for those of us who can't tolerate gluten. The marguerita had an orchid on the top, with colored salt on the rim. It was DELICIOUS!
Best tacos in Troy, New York, hands down. The place is super cute, authentic, and the atmosphere is great. I’m Mexican and very picky about my food, and this is by far the best Mexican food I’ve had upstate. If you haven’t tried it yet, it’s a must.

Went here for the first time recently and the food and service were amazing! Super casual but it fits perfectly with the cozy atmosphere, and the tacos were perfect. Super fresh ingredients and a solid amount of options for such a small place. 10/10 I'll be going back and recommending this place to others!
Really great place to eat. Well price food, menu is not overly complicated. Nice set up for the space the restaurant has. Tacos are all made properly and they will modify them for kids. Their barria is the best I've had

Had the chicken birria tacos when I was here last weekend. I think they were the best tacos I've had in the region! The portion was a little small for a dinner, but I'd still love to come back to try the other things they have to offer.
If you haven't noticed yet, ya boy loves tacos and really anything Mexican!! So, of course I have been to La Capital tacos in Troy!! The casual atmosphere is really great, from the way you order, to the lounge and seating area outback... It's all really great before you take a bite of food, or sip on one of those amazing drinks 🍷!! The barria tacos and consumé really are delicious. I get really big boy status and I'll drink the consumé... If you aren't drinking it, you're not doing it right haha. Im not a huge fish taco fan, but between this and the ceviche (not pictured) I'm into ordering them here. Just ye freshness or everything and authenticity is what does it for me. Do not pass GO, do not collect $200, go directly to La Capital Tacos for the tastiest little street tacos you’ve had since, well, the last time you went to La Capital Tacos! Honestly, I had the chorizo burrito months ago and I was not in love at all. Spongy and bright red meat that did not have a good mouth feel or flavor. In fact, I swore off the place until someone at work mentioned their birria tacos. Me, generally being a giver of second chances, I went back for another chance and boy am I glad I did! The birria tacos were super tender and juicy, topped with that melty white squeaky Oaxaca cheese with crispy edges from all of that hot grill lovin’. Damn. The flavor of the consommé was right-on and ready for dipping, and dipping, and dipping again. Chopped onions and cilantro for the top. I got take-out and the three little birria soldiers were sort of unceremoniously piled into the container haphazardly - a testament to the fact that others have also discovered this place and orders were screaming out of the kitchen. Honestly, these may have been the tastiest tacos. Certainly the best birria. I will be going back for more.
1st time trying…10/10 amazing!! I have now gone twice this week!! (40 minute drive) If that doesn’t tell you how great it is! Such a cute spot to sit and everyone was so nice. Great prices for the amazing quality food they put out.
La Capital Tacos is a hidden gem. They use fresh ingredients, and flavors are perfect. I got three traditional tacos without cilantro, two chicken and one chorizo with a Pineapple soda. My husband got three traditional tacos without the cilantro, one pork, one chorizo and one carnitas. The pile on the meat in these small street tacos making them very filling. The seasoning is delicious on the chicken, pork and steak. We have also had before the churros for dessert and the Tres Leche cake both were delicious. A must for taco lovers.
Upon sharing my desire for Mexican cuisine with my husband this evening, we selected La Capital Tacos, a decision well-taken. My chicken quesadilla was exceptionally delightful, truly the best! Appreciation is expressed to our waitress very happy to served us! We defenitely coming back❤️
Shrimp tacos amazing , peach ring margarita !! Taste was on point , will be back to try more items on the menu , nice spot and good energy, wasn’t a big fan of the guacamole , seemed to blended and to smooth of a texture
Consider its location, they did a great job making this place a nice atmosphere to eat. I discovered the tacos at the farmers market and the birria and con todos tacos are great. I like also getting rice and beans with the tacos. The carnitas, chicken, beef are all good, as are the veggie tacos. I also hear the drinks here are nice.
this spot has become a Troy staple for me. authentic Mexican food offered from a simple menu, this is the place to go. The reviews speak for itself, The food is authentic tasting with great flavor and it’s priced averagely for tacos in the area . The and delivery is optional with a click. We got take out via Melio it came really fast and tasted as good as it would if we got it there.
Went for dinner on a whim. Walked in and was pretty busy but we got through pretty quickly. We ordered 2 sets of brirra tacos and a quesadilla and decided to dine in. We sat outside in the dining domes. The interior was cute and intimate. We ordered a Corona and Modelo to drink. Everything was excellent and plan to go back for the margarita and sangria. It is a bit pricey. We spent $60 for 2 for everything but still affordable. If you haven't you must try! Despite the domes being on a busy street you hardly notice.
Absolutely amazing authentic tacos! My friend and I stopped for lunch and had the most wonderful experience. We ordered a couple of different tacos to share from the friendly cashier and headed outside with our drinks to dine inside an igloo. We decided to try the carnitas and the al pastor tacos con todos and the birria tacos with consomé. The tacos came incredibly fast and were delicious. Everything was so fresh! I had the horchata and my friend tried the Jamaica water. The horchata was delightfully creamy and refreshing with hints of cinnamon and vanilla. The Jamaica water was pleasantly sweet and tart. Eating outside in a warm igloo on a cold winters day was a novelty worth repeating. I highly recommend, go today!!
Nice place for a quick bite! I got 3 chicken birria tacos for dine-in and service was quick and food tasted good. Tacos were a little too greasy and the AC wasn't strong enough so it was still hot inside, but they tasted good and were around $15 for 3 tacos.
Good and drinks are great, nice outdoor seating on the street but man, the bees 🐝 were plentiful that day. I e not had one bad meal here, flavors on point but maybe a tad pricier than some- but again, the food is that good. Birria and fish tacos are the best. These margs were 🤌🏽
Excellent food! Loved sitting out in the heated igloos. As a first-timer, staff wasn't overly friendly or helpful as to how their ordering & outdoor seating worked. However, other guests were more than happy to let us know. Would definitely eat there again. The carnitas quesadilla was out of this world. Not your typical quesadilla, and that's what made it so great. Out of the 3 tacos tried, the carnitas one was the best for sure. Big bonus points for having horchata!

One fish taco , one burrito, and salsa with chips $35. I am not impressed at all. The salsa was less than desirable. Large pieces of tomato, flavorless. The fish taco was 5/10. Very small street taco size that fell apart when I tried to pick it up . I ate this with a fork. The burrito was ok. Far better taco: Mexican establishments in the area.
