Wild Cherries Coffee House Truckee Reviews
The BEST sodas in the whole town, the EVERYTHING is made until absolute perfection, the service is quick and efficient, also really friendly! and the atmosphere is JUST like home... Love it
Love this little Place! We make it a point to drive across Nevada from Montana to make it their before it closes to get coffee and a sandwich AND a few of their carrot cake cookies that are beyond divine!
I kinda love Wild Cherries. For years, it was one of the few coffeehouse in town, now there are a lot more. The owner is always there, she and the staff are always nice. It can get crowded, bonus is old timers like me always run into someone I haven't seen in a while. Plus, parking is easy. Pastries are yummy and consistent, my current go-to is the almond croissant!
Kiera was awesome! She has incredible customer service and she was super fast with getting my drinks out! This is easily my favorite shop in Tahoe their pastry’s are amazing!!!!
There are not enough good or positive words to say about this place. EVERYTHING is simply amazing! The staff is friendly and attentive. The food is AMAZING! Must must try the carrot cake cookie sandwich. Always clean. Just.. go there!!!
We live locally. We try all the coffee shops and consistently COME BACK to Wild Cherries! The baked goods are the BEST. The manager Yvonne keeps everything on track and all are happy. Fabulously consistent.
Wild Cherries Coffee Shop sets the gold standard for coffee and service in the entire Lake Tahoe region. In a landscape full of options, they stand completely unmatched when it comes to the quality of their brews and the warmth of their hospitality. Their Blueberry Cream pastries are nothing short of divine—rich, fresh, and incredibly flavorful. It’s not an exaggeration to say they are among the best pastries I’ve had anywhere, not just in Tahoe. If you’re searching for top-tier coffee and unforgettable baked goods, Wild Cherries is truly in a league of its own. You simply won’t find this level of quality anywhere else in the area.
Excellent smoothie ( strawberry banana mango oat) and the iced Americano was superb. Service was great and efficient. Next time I'm saving room for the lemon bars and the pie..oh my! We worked up an appetite sitting in the wonderful outdoor seating area, good for dogs...so we tried the apple pie which was as terrific as it looks.
Came in for coffee and a snack before driving out of the area. Wasn’t expecting to have some of the best baked goods I’ve had in quite some time. The chocolate chip cookie was perfection. The carrot cake cookie was so moist. Coffee tastes good, service was friendly. Would come back if we’re in the area again.
This place is busy and seems to be a favorite stop for locals and tourists alike. Now, here is the important part, pay attention when you are there. This place is busy, and the staff moves fast to get the orders out. In our visit, people made orders and either took off or just disappeared. The staff called out multiple times to come claim the drinks and food, and when no one showed it was gone. So if you made an order and don't have a number, pay attention, or your wait will be longer. Now the fun of the atmosphere has been shared the food and coffee were very good. The begal sandwich was simple and good. Though the begal could have used a little butter on it.
Nice place outside the touristy downtown area, it has free parking, yay. It is a hole in the wall place, very small and basic seating, but I preferred it to the other areas we drove through in town. Admittedly I don't know the town well enough to say where the quiet area is, but this will do as a starting point.
Average cafe. Counter service. Breakfast sandwich is okay--better than fast food. Smoothie didnt taste fresh but was okay. Decent espresso. Lots of floor space taken up by merchandise (tshirts and hats for tourist sales) while the tables are crowded into a small space plus some high tops.
Came to get some food and coffee before heading out to ski. The food was good but the wait was crazy. Be prepared that if you come on the weekend you will likely be waiting a long time.
I found myself exploring the Truckee area after finishing a hike, I was thirsty and wanted a small bite- sadly I got neither as I strolled into Wild Cherries. The place was cozy with a lovely outside seating area. I immediately didn’t care for the “order at the counter” method they have going on. (My personal preference is to sit with available waitstaff) Needless of my feelings I was already there. The next inconvenience was nothing on their menu was cooked to order, it was sandwiches, wraps, quiches, pastries, etc. (for some this may not be an issue) The reason why I did not get to eat was because the line was literally out the door and the staff was in chill vibe, but given it’s a vacation hot-spot I can somewhat understand. I however was not inclined to wait. I felt a need to just provide you feedback on what to expect & what they offer. Please help yourself if you have more patience than me. Happy Waiting!!
I've been coming here a long time, and want to leave a positive review, but dang... Ordering system is broken and staff stand around and chat with each other instead of saying hello or helping lately. I get there can be a wait with a busy restaurant, but that's not it. You order online, drive over, and even 30 minutes later, it's not ready. No one in line, but it's going to be 50 (!!!!!) minutes for a breakfast sandwich in a shop that isn't busy. If you ask the staff, they will tell you that's just how the Toast app works. Then why bother ordering online? And then the order was wrong and inedible. So bummed.
Not sure what happened to this place. Pasties are now atrocious. Tried the blueberry muffin and it tasted like kitchen sponge, zero flavor. For iced coffee they use crushed ice so when espresso hits it the drink becomes watery instantly. Coffee drinks are super sweet even when asked to do half sweet. Middle aged woman who took our order was short and rude with us when asked a basic question. Waited forever for drinks is to be made even though nobody was in line (they were making and prioritizing online orders). This place went downhill compared to what it was years ago. Coffee used to be good and pastries divine :( do not come here if you need to quickly grab and go you’ll be waiting forever and will be disappointed.
