Aloha Hawaiian BBQ in Tustin is highly rated for its delicious and abundant food at great prices. Customers rave about the generous portions, fast service, and clean environment. The BBQ beef is a standout dish.
Tip: Portions are large, consider sharing a combo.
Amazing service!! I asked for no mac salad and they offered me more rice or cabbage which was so sweet! c: Plus, the portions here are HUGE!!! Best bang for your buck!
I have been eating at this place for 3 years now, one of my most favorite spots to get my hawaiian bbq cravings. Mostly I get their chicken combo or bbq mix. Love their hawaiian macaroni salad and spam musubi. The portions are huge so you get your monies worth. Its a great place to eat if your a natural big eater.
Best bang for your buck by far! The amount or food piled into this white takeout container is endless. Good enough for me and my husband to share or have enough for leftovers! The katsu and barbecue chicken/beef are always consistently delicious! We usually order online and go in to pick up to avoid the busy lineups! There's a few seating options inside, but I wouldn't recommend how much foot traffic is there. Service is prompt and friendly.
HUGE portions! My friend and I ordered the BBQ Mix + spam masubi appetizer and couldn’t finish. Meat is juicy and flavorful. We joked that we had to try hard to find cabbages under the meat haha. 10/10 definitely coming back again!
Incredible portions for the price, would recommend their katsu and BBQ chicken combo!
Wow, portions are huge, you will not leave hungry! The chicken was moist and great with the provided sauce. Not a ton of seating inside so it can get cramped during lunch rushes. Fair pricing as well.
Love coming here after work. The food is good , dining area is clean and comfortable, and the staff is nice. Recently I left my water bottle at my table about a week ago and the crew today when I showed up waved my down when I walked in and handed me the water bottle that I had assumed to be long gone. They kept it safe by the register in case I came by. Such a thoughtful crew and really kind. I think the cashier was named Chris.
I haven't been to Aloha for at least 2 years, but their food is still good as just I remember it years ago. And the food box is still packed with a lot of food, which is awesome.
Very delicious. Portion of their meats are A+++++++++!, very generous really. It's worth of your money. Highly recommended, most likely to visit this restaurant again.
Man ohh man!!!!! Can you say bang for your buck !!! I love this place and Super Delicious!! I drive 45min just to come eat here .. we have several Hawai Bbq places 10min away from me but they don’t compare … trust me when I say,, it’s worth the drive .. Thank you guys for staying consistent and keeping a good price good service .. customer for life .. ohh and i have used their catering as well .. Carne asada can get repetitive in-the Mexican culture so This is the way to go 🔥… if this was a franchise . I would look into bringing it to my home town 🙌.. Great Job 👏
This is our favorite place to eat. The food is enough for 2 adults and 1 toddler. Best value for your money! Our daughter loves to eat "Moana" food, so it's a winner. We go there almost once a week, especially after a Target run. Highly recommend this location!
I love the food here... very affordable, abundant, and good flavor.
The service was quick and the guy helping to take my order was great. He accommodated my custom order for Katsu chicken and short ribs (since that combo didn't exist). And the food was delicious! It is a great price for all the food you get. One of my favorite hawaiian bbq spots by far.
Food, atmosphere were great. This spot has THE BEST teriyaki, beef, fishkatsu plates. Fresh grilled chicken with a perfect macaroni salad 👌 Veggies are amazing, love the variety they serve. Staff is very nice and welcoming.
The food here is fantastic. Always massive portions (mine lasts for 2-3 meals and I can eat a lot) and delicious. The meat is never dry. They are busy here and not going to dote on you. If you require being treated like a special butterfly go somewhere else.
Food is dank af. 5 stars from me. Their portions are MASSIVE in a good way! And Lorenzo at the front is so friendly he’s the best, always smiling and genuinely happy to see people
Wonderful place to enjoy generous portions of Hawaiian food. It usually takes less than 5 minutes for my order to be ready which is incredible. The staff are always friendly and helpful. I highly recommend Aloha Hawaiian BBQ to anyone who loves great food and excellent service.
My daughter really like this place. We got the seafood mix and a mini beef plate and it was very good. The shrimp was crispy and flavorful. We got out of the grill the chicken and it was hot and juicy. The mini bowl was good too. There was an issue with our order and we got some free items because if the longer wait, which i didnt expect. That type of costumer service is exceptional. Plates are big so you get a lot of food for the price. Totally recommended.
An absolute gem! The menu has so many great options and at a great price too! The staff is very attentive and presentable, and the welcoming atmosphere creates an enjoyable setting for dining. So happy to have found this place and will definitely be returning.
The best Hawaiian BBQ in town! My family really loves this place and the huge portions, quality food, and friendly staff! I ordered catering when guests came to my house, and all the guests were very satisfied. The chicken katsu is crunchy and meaty. It is a great price for all the food you get. Highly recommended and definitely coming back again!
Sometimes you want a cool restaurant experience and sometimes you just need reliable, affordable, solidly-made comfort food takeout from workers who don't care if you're a zombie, which this place delivers every time. I can easily turn one plate here into 3-4 meals by adding some cheap carbs. Fwiw, it did seem on my last visit that they were using less salt, but not to the point of inedible blandness.
Great cozy place, my wife and I eat here when I get to take her to lunch. Never crowded and the food comes out pretty quick
For the money best food there is. I love the barbecue combo.
Clean place great customer service LORENZO helped me today he is amazing thank you
Although we have moved out of state, we make this our 1st stop to enjoy our favorite katsu plate whenever we come back to OC to visit. ONOLICIOUS 😋
This place was simply outstanding. Got there at lunch hour on Friday and it was packed. Ordered a #1 for about $11 and it was enough to feed at least two people. HUGE portions! Loved it. Their macaroni salad reminds me of when I was a kid. It took Some time to get our food, but I attribute that to the fact that they seemed to be the most popular establishment in a 10 mile radius.
Great food, great portions, good prices. You can not be the quality and portions of food for the price, some as that. If your really hungry the meal will easily fill you up for just over 10$, or if your a normal person that is just hungry the mini meals or sharing one of the larger dishes with another is great. They do provide additional plates of requested and a good way to share a lunch for 5$ each.
The food was great! The portions were even greater! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants real Hawaiian food on the go! I can't wait to try something different when I go there next time! They need a location out in Corona:). Thanks guys!
They did a great job taking my order the Service was great food on point They gave you a lot of food for your 💵
One of my favorite places to hit up when I want some Amazing Hawaiian BBQ, came in on Monday after the lunch rush and food was quick and delicious this became my lunch and dinner. Service is always done with a smile, but be careful because the lunch rush is always heavy, for good reason too.
We got the #4 & #5 and we could have shared just one of them! So much food for the price and everything was excellent!! Dude who rang us up was sweet and friendly! Would come back! Highly recommend!
Food is just great. Plates are packed with a great quantity of food. It never disappoints specially after a great workout and protein intake. Best one of them all
I have been getting takeout from here for years. The portions are tremendous and are easily enough for two hungry people. The staff is always friendly. I wish they had an Online Ordering option that didn’t require a fee.
Great portions and tasty food for a decent price.
Been here a couple of times now. Excellent food and great value. Picture is the Hawaiian BBQ plate #4 ( chicken, beef and kalbi) AFTER both hubby and I ate our fill. There’s enough for us to have it for lunch tomorrow. Just have to cook some rice to go with it. Some may think that the steamed cabbage the the meat is served in top of, is just filler, but I disagee. There’s a lot of meat in the combo and I appreciate the steamed cabbage as a side veggie.
Amazing portions of food with delicious taste. I've been coming to this spot for nearly a decade, and it never disappoints. The portion sizes are HUGE, often serving 2 people unless you just had a massive workout and need the protein. The meats are always delicious and well-cooked, with a very tasty sauce. The Katsu chicken is very tasty and always comes crunchy, and the macaroni salad is also very tasty. The location's interior is cozy and inviting, with a Hawaiian tiki style decor. Decent amount of seats available for dining in. The service is also always very fast, much faster than you'd think! For the price and portion sizes, this is money very well spent. Anytime I get a big workout, I love getting food from here. Definitely recommend this location for all your protein needs.
Awesome place, food was amazing, their chicken combo plate was heavily served! Ate like a king.
Very good if you need to feed a bunch of people. Cheap, fast, but somehow doesn't sacrifice taste. :)
I was impress by the portions of the combo. Got Hawaiian Bbq mix (Chicken, Beef, & short ribs). Along with white rice, macaroni salad & steamed cabbage. Also got an order of musubi and they were so good. Staff was friendly and they got my order out quickly. Definitely coming back again.
Favorite Hawaiian BBQ place in SoCal. Their meats are delicious and their portions are ginormous. I am in love with their mac salad and I substitute all the rice for it at no extra charge as well! I've been going here for years since 2012 and it never fails to hit the spot. Servers are always chill and food comes out pretty fast. Make sure to grab extra sauce too! Pictured is their chicken katsu plate. Food: 8/10 Service: 8/10 Experience: 7/10 Value: 10/10
Best I’ve ever had, clean type of meat and food great portions, staff and cook very friendly! Food taste fresh seriously delicious I highly recommend
MUST TRY! This is my favorite and only spot to go to for yummy Hawaiian barbecue! Their menu is so extensive but Alex was really helpful! He gave me some pretty good recommendations, service here is top tier! You can tell their food is made fresh to order and I’ll definitely be coming back! The food and service was so good that I forgot to take a pic! If you’re looking for delicious and quick food with great service, def come here. Thanks Alex!
The staff really was what made this place good. They helped guide my wife and I to purchase the right meal for our family of five. The food was well priced, bountiful, and tasty. The only complaint would be that I wish they had more variety of vegetable dishes you could order.
To be honest!!! It was 💥 boom !!
The amount of food is crazy in this place. If you order the plate then it is enough for 2-3 people. If you don't want to have leftovers do the small/mini ones. The food was good with a ton of meat. There are a lot of options too like teriyaki chicken, BBQ beef, ribs, fish, etc. The only thing is every time I visited there there was always something way too salty, sometimes the chicken sometimes the BBQ beef.
We're visiting So. Cal for a few days and tonight we didn't know what to eat for dinner. I'm a picky eater, don't like meat, and not a fan of fried food or fast food. My husband did a Google search, and Aloha Hawaiian BBQ popped up and only 7 minutes from our hotel. I'm not a meat eater, but I don't mind eating Hawaiian BBQ if the flavors are food and meats are tender. When our order came out, I opened the to go box; my jaw dropped when I saw the mount of meat on my plate. It could feed a family of 4. I got the #4 mixed meats. The meats were delicious, especially the chicken and short ribs. The macaroni and cabbage sides I was not crazy about. The macaroni was not cold. The cabbage tasted like boiled cabbage. They should make or serve pickled cabbages; the acid from the pickles would have gone well with all the BBQ meat (just a suggestion to the cook or owner). 5 stars for the portions size! 3 stars for the macaroni and the cabbages.
I have been coming here for take-out for the past two years. This place is an incredible value. I'm not sure how they sell so much food for so little. I can feed my whole family for about $15 (the four of us split two meals) and have enough left over for lunch the next day. It isn't Ruth Chris but the food is very tasty compared to other fast casual fare. Certainly a lot better than fast food joints.. The service is very good as well. A great value all around which is why I keep coming back.
I only get the chicken katsu combo, and it's amazing. Huge portions for not a lot of money. I can normally pack away a lot of food, and I always still have a full meal for leftovers at lunch the next day. Customer service is "meh" but the food is great and the price is right.
Obscene amount of food is all I have to say. First time ordering there and was stunned with the quantity. Food itself is tasty, not the best hawaiian bbq I've tasted - it tastes like mall food to be honest. However, for the price you pay and the amount you get, I am pleased and would get it again. My chicken platter lasted for 3 meals.
The food and service ate exelcellent. My only complaint is that they should at least one employee clean the table after a customer leaves cause the tables when I arrive for lunch are dirty and have scraps and bits on them.
The prices have gone up and I been going here for 7 yrs, I feel the quality of meats have downgraded from what it use to be. Still is my go to because I have three teenage boys who can take down a buffet and the good thing at aloha is their portions haven’t changed much! It’s crowded and a line but they get folks out quick!
Many varieties of food to try, from masubi to meat lovers bbq combination all the way to seafood. From snacks to family meals. You can also order for catering aswell.
Hawallan BBQ mix is great meats are delicious great portions at a great price. The only downside is the seafood noodle soup, that was a waste of my money alot of shrimp but the broth was water and sugar 🤮 with noodles and cabbage no flavor whatsoever do not waste your money on that. Service was great 👍
Ordered some dinner here of 3 different options of the teriyaki chicken, beef short ribs, and katsu chicken. All platters were an immense amount of food, and you could feel the weight of the food in the to-go bag. I was shocked when opening the carton to see what seemed like 2-3lbs of meat, 1lb of rice, and some macaroni salad. I will say the food is more fast food vibes and not high-end quality, but for the price you pay and the amount of food you get. I would say it is worth it. Great flavor from the teriyaki chicken that had a long-lasting marinade you can taste. I would definitely recommend people to get the chicken katsu or the beef ribs because the flavor is just a lot better than the teriyaki chicken, although good, is just very generic. The macaroni salad and the spam musubi are also very nice little appetizers! Again, would recommend it as a lunch stop and definitely taking some seconds home because of the amount of food you get. It's a cool spot with a few seats and usually not crazy packed. The guy at the front was very helpful and great at service.
Ordered the curry chicken and the teriyaki chicken- both orders with standard sides of rice and macaroni salad. I will say they definitely don’t skimp on the portions. Regarding flavor and taste, both are what to be expected when it comes to your local Hawaiian BBQ “joint”. Teriyaki chicken is your standard quick-bite establishment teriyaki. The curry chicken (bc of the sauce) is actually quite nice for a “Hawaiian curry” 🤨- if you will. Has a kick. To be fair, I did not try the actual “BBQ” food items and they may be extraordinary; I wouldn’t know. Very nice menu, the variety is there, and true native Hawaiian snacks like musubi. Neither dish was mind blowing but 4-stars mainly because the curry sauce was nice and better than expected.
The food is really great, the portions are great as well. However, the issue I have with this place is that we placed the order on the phone and confirm with them that it will be ready in 10 to 15 minutes which is when we would arrive. Then they didn't start the order until we arrived there and paid for the food. If that's their policy, they should have told us that and we would have gladly paid over the phone.
We visited this cozy Hawaiian BBQ place during a team lunch. It's tucked into the Crossroads Plaza, which has limited parking near the restaurant—but don’t worry, you can easily park at the nearby Target and take a short walk. The restaurant itself is small with limited seating, so it might not be ideal during peak hours. However, the food and value definitely make up for it! Hawaiian BBQ places are known for their generous portions, and this one didn’t disappoint. A regular plate is easily enough for two people. Our group tried the chicken katsu, BBQ platter, and seafood mix. The chicken katsu and BBQ platter were a bit too greasy but good and satisfying. The seafood mix was decent; the fish was slightly under-seasoned but paired well with the sauce provided. The staff was friendly, and service was quick—probably because we came during off-peak hours. For the price, the portions and quality are excellent, leaving you feeling full and content. Would definitely recommend for a casual lunch or takeout if you're in the area!
The flavor was good and short ribs not bad. But the beef ribs were another story my ribs were bald. All 4 looked like the pic. It felt as though someone had already eaten the good part. If not, then the manager who bought em, the cook that made them, and the expo that served them let me n other customers who get home with the same disappointment down and they need to do better as a team. There's to many other options to risk a similar experience.
If you want huge portions this is the spot. Just don’t try the loco moco. 80% bread and was burnt. It was kinda like chicken fried stake. Eggs usually are supposed to be runny. Burnt and yolk was solid. Meat bent the tips of my fork and I could not cut with a knife. I tried to eat with my hands but I gave up and threw 20$ in the trash. Don’t like leaving bad reviews but I showed my fork and said I threw food away. Was told sorry. Would have put 1 star but didn’t want to mess up their rating. Chicken and beef is good.
First impression: the staff is rude. That aside, the food is just ok. I would not make a special trip for this place. The portions are huge, so I'll give them that. But nothing wowed me enough to drive to Tustin and deal with rude employees. I'll ignore rudeness if the food is delicious, but this place missed the mark. Parking is a nightmare because it's in an extremely busy shopping center.
They Charged me for the wrong order today right before closing, I was craving chicken Katsu all day. I ordered half chicken katsu and half beef and got only beef. Maybe they ran out before closing? They should have told me. Disappointed since I paid extra for katsu and didn’t get it.
My wife absolute LOVES this place. She's eaten there 3xs in the last 7days. Plus it's really affordable for the amount of food you get.. UPDATE: It's definitely NOT as affordable as it use to be. You're better off eating at a regular sit down restaurant.
Food is pretty decent. Portion is not bad. Beef... too much fat!!! BUT!!! So dirty! The restroom is not clean and smells pretty bad! Unsure how clean the kitchen is... not to mention the high chair... so sticky and oily. Hope other franchises are better...
3 stars SIMPLY because of portion sizes and because it USED to be good. I've been coming here for years, a decade I will say. The past 2 years. Food quality has dropped dramatically (aka cheapened) . Portions are smaller, which is fine, but to also lower the food quality and charge more is just crazy. The max salad used to be made with hints of tuna. That's gone. The chicken and beef were always solid. The beef rib was good. Now. The chicken is dry. Beef is cold and beef rib is a chewed up hickey puck. If you guys can't return to how the food used to be, just close up.
The tall dark haired kid with glasses had a bad attitude and the young girl bagging the orders lost our ticket and couldn’t tell which order was which. The food was good and still hot even after sitting in front of the cooks for at least 10 minutes . Overall go for the food, but the service is embarrassing. You owner of this place should get better quality people that show more pride in their work, and themselves. Poor leadership shows in the type of crew that you have.
Aloha is a staple in our household, but I've noticed it getting worse and worse over the years. They provide less and the most noticeable change has been the service. The attitude of the cashiers is abysmal where they barely even acknowledge you or expect you to read their mind. The Food here tastes great and used to be a good bang for your buck, but the service leaves a bad taste in your mouth.
I placed a catering order for my company. The individual that took my order was working so fast and wouldn't let me speak that the one order ended up being charged as though it was two separate orders. I also asked the gentleman if I was able to have a few extra aluminum trays for my order he said it wouldn't be a problem. I arrive to pick up my order and the person at the register said " We can't just give those out"! This experience was very frustrating! There was no alignment or consistency with customer service.
We used to love this Aloha and visit weekly. Since about 2 to 3 years ago, quality seems to have gotten sloppy. The combo usually comes with cabbage and they are nicely cooked. Last 3 times that I've visited over a 1year period, we noticed the cabbage are packed on the bottom and are hard pieces. Not fully cooked through was one problem, but most have the hard edges so it appears to take up more room. The portion of food is huge, however partially due to cabbage stuffing.
This place used to be my go-to back in the day for chicken katsu. But now it seems very mediocre. Too much hard breading, and meat is super thin. Portions aren’t that great if you consider that..
I recently experienced their food via a delivery order, and I must say, it was disappointingly bland. I opted for the seafood combo with chicken, but the shrimps lacked any discernible taste, and the chicken was equally unremarkable. The French fries seemed far from fresh, probably straight from the freezer. Although the portions were generous, the nearly $20 price tag was hard to justify. If you value the quality and taste of your food, I would advise against choosing this place. In short, I do not recommend it and have no plans to return anytime soon.
Seems to always have issues with the cooks here. They serve chopped up leftover pieces of chicken when you ask for chicken bbq. Better off going to Bristol by the mall. better service n satisfactory. in fact, ant other Aloha but there.
The person who collects the orders ignored me and told me to wait in line to pick up the order. Usually, to pick up a takeaway order at establishments, you do not need to wait in line.
Workers were friendly. But the food was horrible; bland and flavorless. Got the Loco Moco and the meat was hard and felt like it was cooked days ago than microwaved. I can not say much about the other food though.
I used to go here religiously every week. I think their food prices & quality of food are fantastic. Today for the first time I was shorted a Combo Mix. I should have checked my order before I left, but didn't, as I've never had a problem. I called as soon as I realized & was basically called a liar by the owner who said he personally put my order together. WOW!!! I didn't even think it would be an issue. I said can you watch it on video to see that you shorted me a box? No, we don't have access to that. This negative review is basically for customer service or lack thereof. They stole $10 from me & could care less & act like I was trying to get a free meal. Shame on you! Karma's coming.
This place was horrible! Went earlier today with a buddy of mine, food was good and all but the customer service was a 1 star type of service. F***er gave both me and my bud a blank stare like dude don't bring your problems to work and not only that he would've jacked my debit card it I hadn't noticed he just gave me the receipt back after paying for the food. Never going to this place again. You want good Hawaiian food head over to the one on s Bristol st across from south coast plaza. Great food, great customer service. Thank me later
Worst place ever they close at 8:55pm and i came in at 8:30 to order they had everything all clean out can’t even get sauce on your own by the time i came they had 3 sauces left in a little pan and the server that helped me had a bit of a attitude when i came in as if coming in to order bothered them. The vibe wasn’t it at all worst experience ever!!!! The food is good don’t get me wrong but after a long day at work i don’t want to go to a restaurant where im not welcomed or I don’t feel welcomed.
This is the first time I went here to this place and I was very disappointed. Me and my boyfriend looking for place to eat and we found this and caught my eyes was the short ribs and chicken katsu so we went here. After ordering food and got our orders I was disappointed see the short ribs looks so dry. The portion of the food is alot. When I tried the short ribs it doesn’t have any flavor at all I was so disappointed and the chicken katsu is fine however when I look at the chicken the chicken looks so old. I know if the chicken is raw or old but this one is old chicken. The chicken katsu has this smell like it’s so fishy. I don’t know if they use the same oil they use to cook the fish or the chicken creating that smell. Never go to this place it’s so bad even the place smells. We spend $47 here and this is the food quality we got how disappointed we are, if i’m able to get a refund I will because it’s not worth it. I can go to other places that has better food flavor and better prices. I even end up throwing my food away because there’s no point of bringing it with me cause I know I won’t eat it. I read all the previous reviews from few years ago and I may say this place looks like still the same they don’t know how to cook and they don’t know how to use good quality fresh meats. Replace the old meats you have in the fridge/freezer and cook fresh once to serve to customers. Do you guys have no money to replace the old meats to new fresh meats or what ? I cook better than you guys and i don’t use old meats and I don’t use the same oil for fish for meats. If i’m able not to give star I WON’T because this place doesn’t deserve star, No Rating at all. Keep in mind always read the reviews don’t get fooled by how many stars they have. I bet they’re lying about the stars rating they have. They deserve only 1 star or 0 star. What a SCAM ***I HIGHLY NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE***
Quality of food has dropped significantly. Before the bbq beef would be fresh and most recently when I ordered a bbq beef combo, the beef was dry and some of it was burnt. Not worth spending almost $20, you’re better off spending your money elsewhere.
Ordered the loco moco. The burger patties were deep fried in what tasted like the same oil that is used to fry fish. Really off, unpleasant taste. Weird dry texture. The meal was inedible. I called the restaurant to ask how the patties are prepared. They ultimately offered me a credit to come back and try a different menu item. When I returned to use my credit, they refused to honor it.. stating I took too long to use it, even though I don’t come to the area often and had no intention of driving to Tustin just for a food credit. I showed them a saved copy of the receipt on my phone but the staff didn’t care and very rudely turned me away as if I was lying.. 1 star for your poor customer service and fishy beef patties.
The chicken katsu was horrible. Old chicken from under a heat lamp maybe 5-6 hours also the chicken was so thin that considering it was breaded the breading was 3/4 times thicker than the chicken inside really really horrible quality
I stop by at 8:04 ordered my food they had the chairs already on top of the tables blocked the bathroom hall and the access to the soda machine my food came out I sat down where I could 15 minutes later I was told I need it to go because the dinning close at 8 while closing according to their own website is 8:55 first and last time !! I wish I could post a pic
We arrived at 8:05pm. We sat down and as we are enjoying our meal we were told by the Clerk, already cleaning the place, that we had to leave. The restrooms were blocked , the chairs on top of the tables, a very strong, intoxicating cleaner on the floor. The sign said they close at 8:55pm. Terrible customer service.
Never order catering tray with them. They absolutely does not have any CUSTOMER SERVICE at all they just put all. the tray in front of you without a word. It is just sad that we need catared food for almost every other week for Seniors and they are the closest. With the staff attitude ther I would rather travel longer to buy food on trays. BAD STAFFS!!!
