We came here on a Friday night and the food line was a bit decimated. They were clearly understaffed, but the hustle and care of the manager Maddy made up for it. She was doing everything, literally cooking and running the line at the same time. She was dedicated to taking good care of us. Her customer service stood out and made a situation great that could have been really frustrating otherwise. Thank you Maddy.
I come here all of the time, the portions aren't super consistent but im always full and never leaving hungry. The food is always well prepared and the line is always moving fast.
The staff was very helpful and attentive. It was really busy but they were on their A-game and was able to take care of me very quickly. I will definitely be back!

I visited the Freebirds in Tyler Texas at 5105 S. Broadway on 12/12/2025 and a lady name Na'Riyiah helped me and she was wonderful with great customer service. Na'Riyiah is friendly, kind, welcoming and goes over and above for the customers.
I've been here a few times over the years and always found the food to be flavorful and fresh. They had bogo tacos today and even though 2 were free, they still were packed with ingredients
The Dynamic Trio! My wife and I have eaten at Free Birds a handful of times, and we've always enjoyed our meals. However, during our most recent visit, three of your employees, Maddy, Austyn, and Dawson, truly stood out and made our experience exceptional. They were incredibly professional and polite throughout our entire stay. The restaurant was packed, yet their intentionality in ensuring we had a great experience was truly impressive. We just had to ask for their names because their service was so remarkable. We wanted to make sure their excellent work was recognized.
Sarah and the rest of the staff were very nice. EVERYONE said hello when I walked in. There was no wait. I felt very welcomed! John the manager on duty even came out and personally said hello to me. No to mention the food was fresh and delicious as always. I’m always so happy leaving this place! Thanks John, Sarah, and staff!
Best burrito place ever!!! It doesn’t get better than this. So many things to choose from to make burritos huge and get super full. Also lots of sauces to add in burrito or just to dip in. The regular sized one is good but the monster is definitely the best to make you stuffed. We just had the regular sizes today but from now on it’s always going to be the monster burrito. Also the queso is very good. Inside was very clean and staff are quick and super friendly. Make sure you get the app to get points towards your meals and good coupons to your email. Definitely recommend this place for very good eats!!! Thanks!!
First off, employees were kind and helpful. I’d like to give a better review, but I paid $15 for a bowl w/ chicken, rice, black beans, sour cream, guacamole, and sauces, and a drink. Small portions (1/2 or maybe even 1/3 of sizes at Chipotle) and food was “meh”. Rice was overcooked and dry and black beans were undercooked. You’d be better off going to Chipotle for bigger portion sizes and better quality of food.
In person everything is great because the people can see you watching the portions. When it’s a delivery service like door dash it’s less than good. I pay the extra 4 dollars for extra meat and end up getting less than the regular portion when going through a delivery service like door dash. Been going there 3-5 times a month for the last 2ish years and can tell a difference from extra to regular portion. If you’re going to eat there and don’t order online but go in person.
Trey is the employee we are writing about— We eat here regularly and love this place, which is why this experience was so frustrating. My wife always gets the quesadilla and I get a burrito. This time, her quesadilla came out completely burnt. When we asked for it to be remade, it was burnt again. When we politely explained that it’s never made like this and is usually cooked perfectly, the employee insisted, “That’s how it’s always made,” which simply isn’t true. He became frustrated and immediately offered a refund instead of fixing the problem or explaining what happened. We weren’t looking for our money back — we just wanted our food made correctly. Very disappointing experience, especially for a place we visit often.
Horrible customer service, they're very stingy with their portions. Definitely noticed that they were more friendly and outgoing with their "white customers" then their "brown customers " Food looked like it was sitting there foreverrr
Would have given 5 stars, until something in my burrito stabbed my mouth. I pulled out a fairly large (~1 cm^2) piece of glass or plastic that was melted to points on the corners. I took it inside and showed the employees and they said it probably came from one of their food bins. They proceeded to show me one of their food bins that was falling apart, but still continued to use it to serve customers. I pointed out that if I had swallowed it then it could have been really bad, but they were unconcerned and continued to use the busted bin.
Lady behind the counter put the wrong meat on my burrito, once she realized, she picked the meat off of my burrito with her bare hands (with gloves) picking through all of the other food items I had already had on my burrito right then and there. I got pass that. Then my first bite of my burrito I got a squishy bite of chicken. So, of course, I spit it out and the chicken was RAW. When I went to let them know, they were very unconcerned and didn't want to give me a refund for it at first. They still haven't issued a refund for my item and I gave them back the whole burrito with that one bite out of it. WONT BE BACK! Very rude staff. Black lady with the braids and tall white man with earrings.
I ordered a bowl and a kids meal. The kids meal was missing half the order and we live 20 minutes away and I didn’t think to check it before I left. The kids meal was supposed to be a steak quesadilla with bell peppers and onions with pico added on and sour cream on the side. It had none of that except a little steak and zero cheese at all. How it can be a quesadilla with no cheese. Idk. It was missing the kids chips also. My bowl the rice was dry , they didn’t add but a small amount of chicken. I added lettuce to the bowl and there was no lettuce at all. Absolutely ridiculous for a restaurant to mess up this bad on a single meal is pretty bad. I get they were a little busy being a Sunday. But they should at-least take the time to make the orders right that are ordered online. The service has been bad at this location for a while and this has to be the worst it has been.
The burrito was not contained on either end and for some reason they thought it would be cool to put the beans on the outside of the burrito instead of inside. I got about 1/4 through and tossed the rest. Regular chips and guac came with a 2 oz container of guac that was about half full. Have never had issues with any Freebirds locations...including Tyler until now. I guess my order didn't matter because I wasn't standing right in front of them while they were making it. Very disappointed.
