Bronco Billy's Union City Reviews
I have been coming to this one since 1999. My wife actually worked there when I first met her. The Pizza is always great. The slices combo is the way to go if you're just getting something for lunch.
To me this is the best pizza in bay area . Zachary's is very good too. but I can only eat one piece of there's. need to remodel inside , looking old & grab inside. but all I really care about is the awesome Pizza they make.
Our gold standard for local pizza. My HS buddy visits once a year from the East Coast. It's been a tradition to get Bronco Billy's pizza for the families because they're always terrific. Over 20+ years and we haven't ever had issues with the orders and the pizza is head/shoulders above any chain.
Best pizza in the Bay Area, by far. I've been a regular customer at Bronco Billy's ever since it was once known as "Uncle Joe's" way back in the late 1970's and even with all the ownership changes, their pizza has only gotten better with time. Always great pizza and equally great service too!
I've been coming here for 25 years and things have changed but the food and atmosphere is still great , and always have a good time enjoying my food with friends and family each time we visit .
Grew up eating this and will always enjoy a bronco Billy's pizza 🍕 😋
First time here. Great pizza! Will come back again. Did take-out. It was going to take 20 mins to bake so got there right about the time it was ready. Unfortunately there was a long line. (I figured that was a good sign though so was fine waiting.) My bad for not realizing it was lunch hour so it might be busy. So 20 mins later finally got my pizza. Will remember for next time.
The food and pizza is really good. And the kids pizza is really good deal.
Great pizza Establishment. Please forever keep the rustic look. Been going here for 15+ years, I have memories beyond count here. Best place in town to get some hot food for your buck, get a slice you can’t go wrong. I hope Bronco Billy’s Stays in business for years to come. An Important Community, cultural and historic symbol of the east bay.
This has been a childhood favorite, and I came to meet friends from out of town. This was a meeting spot then and remains. The food is amazing and the old time atmosphere makes it that much more at home. From slices to specialties, no matter what you order, it will not disappoint.
I'm a frequent customer because they have great ingredients, fair prices and overall what I look for in a great pizza place. Every one of their specials is great, find what you like and you should be pleased, I usually enjoy a different one each time.
Been going here since I was a kid and the food and vibe has never changed. Very generous with toppings and the staff is always polite. Hope they stick around forever
Bronco Billy's has been around since I was in high school, 30+ years ago. I think they've always had the best pizza in town.! They are located in the older part of Union City and their presence in town is as historic as their location.
Singlehandedly the best American pizza I've ever had. I've ordered from here for years, and I've never been disappointed. Aside from the pizza, their potato skins are to die for. Yes, the building is quite old and the floors are squeaky. It doesn't feel welcoming in the way a modern, polished building might, but that's part of the charm to me. You can have some good pizza in a historic building or iust order it to go. Either way, I recommend this place.
If you're ever in Union City, do yourself a favor and pay a visit to Bronco Billy’s Pizza Palace. This mom and pop gem has been a cornerstone of the community for years, and it's not hard to see why locals, like myself, have been patrons since their teens. I believe they also have location in Fremont and Hayward too. Chicken Coupe Pizza was the one I went for. Let me tell you, it was a savory delight from start to finish. Topped with garlic, bell peppers, and mushrooms, each bite was a perfect blend of flavors. The pizza arrived at the ideal temperature, ensuring that each slice was perfectly warm. The crust had just the right amount of crispiness, providing a satisfying contrast to the rich and flavorful toppings without being too crunchy or too soft. I was so hungry that I forgot to take the photo of the pizza before devouring it. I did manage to take a photo of the remaining slices though. 😁 Bronco Billy’s has mastered the art of pizza-making, and their Chicken Coupe Pizza is a testament to their commitment to quality and taste. Whether you're a long-time fan or a first-time visitor, you’re sure to leave with a happy heart and a full stomach. Bronco Billy’s Pizza Palace is more than just a pizza place; it's a beloved local institution that continues to serve up delicious memories, one perfect pizza at a time. 🍕❤️
This is my Childhood pizza spot! And my family has been coming here for years!! Best pizza EVER!!
My favorite pizza place in the Bay Area. Its must have everything I visiting.
My favorite pizza place in the Bay Area. Order a "slice" - it's actually a handmade personal pizza. Menu doesn't list it but they do have BBQ chicken! This is great pizza
Basing my review completely on the food, because the ambience of the building is a bit…rustic. The floors creak, there’s dust on the windows, and then there’s the wood. Everywhere you look is wood. Wood floors, wood walls, wood booths. I think they even have wood bowls. If I came here in the evening, I would expect to find horses tied up out front, and an interior dimly lit by kerosene lanterns. Now I first started coming here 20 years ago in college, because you can get a huge slice and a soda out the door for under 10 bucks. (It looks exactly the same as it did then) There was a salad bar too, which I’m not sure if it is just on hiatus till post Covid times, or maybe gone for good. Either way, the pizza here is FIRE! Give it a few minutes to rest after it’s served, or you’ll melt your face off, it’s seriously hot. There is enough cheese that you’ll get at least 8 inches of stretch as you pull off your slice. Crispy edges, slight cupping of the pepperoni, and a toasting effect on the cheese. Can’t go wrong with Linguica and pepperoni here.
A rear find. The pizzas are fantastic. Always from scratch. You can call this place 'historic'. Certain atmosphere is there. Bummer they ran out of beers when I was there.
The best pizza. The best pizza around. The perfect crunch. Very tatsty sauce and cheese. Also affordable, get the slice. Always my go-to place.

Excellent food, service, and great for a local pizza joint! I know many are not fans of anchovies, but the sausage, bacon, and anchovy toppings were incredible 😋 !!!
Best pizza in our area.. Combo is our favorite, it has a good amount of veggie and meat. Large is about $35.00
They said the order wrong, and I got two fries instead of one, and instead of taking it back they made a new batch to the other person.
This pizza tastes like the very first pizza I ever had that made me love pizza. They sell by the slice but their version of a slice is like a small pizza. Good deal.

So this pizza is seriously amazing. I love the Niles and Union City locations. I wish they delivered to me but sadly I'm too far. Only lose a start because the Union City location is dirty. I mean it's in a wicked cool building but literally looks like absolutely no one cleans the walls, doors etc. I really wish they would keep it cleaner because there pizza is literally the best and the 'slices' are like a personal size pizza at an amazing price.
If I've got time, I'll come here for a slice. The slice as big as a personal pizza from anywhere else and it's made fresh with lots of toppings. Personally, I hate take-out but I've never had an issue with it either. Their staff is nice and constantly busy so it's hard to fault them when they're a little slow or need to put you on hold when placing an order by phone. Parking is pretty easy to come by, quick in and out. Only thing I've never been a fan of is the location of the salad bar, it's pretty close to the bathrooms.
Everyone has their favorite pizza joint and bronco Billy's is mine. Sausage and mushroom family size 30 bucks out the door with coupon every 6 weeks or so. Life is good. I wish they improved the lighting in there. By the way...fire up an electric pancake griddle if you have one at home and use to heat up and crisp up the crust. No more soggy crust !
Hit the spot up, ordered 2 slices 3 toppings each, steak sandwich, and 10 chicken wings. Big mistake, not that the food was awful, it was the portion on the slices. Omg it was too much food. I was able to finish the steak sandwich and maybe 1/3 of one slice. The slices are large and they taste good. The steak sandwich was so so, but what can you expect from a pizza place. The wings were good. All and all 4/5 stars. Will definitely visit again.
Pizza is good. I usually get a slice of Chuck wagon which is great for meat lovers. The BBQ trail is also a really nice treat if you're into something slightly sweet. It had a really nice blend of onions and garlic as well. Just wish the place was a little bit cleaner.
No beer but the pizza is still as good as ever.
I haven’t been here in years and the quality of pizza hasn’t changed although the old western decor did. Went with a group some who have never been to the Bay Area and ordered an array of pizza a little before closing. The staff were kind enough to let us dine in up until closing (8pm). The pizza was delicious. Crisp bottom, soft middle, and plenty of cheese and toppings with the right amount of sauce. You can’t go wrong with any of the choices as each has their own characteristics which went well. I remember when I was younger I would always order a slice which was made to order and it would always hit the spot.

I have mixed feelings about Bronco Billy's. On one hand, I'll give the pizza 5 stars; it is very good. A two-topping medium cost about $22. On the other hand, I would recommend you take the pizza to go as I give the "restaurant" one star. The interior has not been updated in years, maybe decades. It is old, worn and has a unique smell.
Foods hit or miss, really inconsistent, either scorched or perfect, no middle ground. Place looks pretty run down and tables were filthy. Service was alright, the guy was willing to remake one of our pizzas that was charred despite us asking beforehand to make sure it wasn't burnt. Overall it varies from time to time, hard to say how your food will turn out.
Im kinda new to bronco billy's. Ive ordered a few times. The first time i ordered i came in to pay with card and the guy said "if you wanna leave a tip write it, if not press such and such button" so i didnt tip and pressed the button. The guy actually turned the the girl making the pizzas and said "sorry about that". Sorry for me not tipping? Whoa! I havent even tasted the pizza b4. Is it that serious? I went home and i noticed they got really really good cheese. You can taste the difference. Crust is good too. Anyway, so next time i ordered and tipped a couple bucks, no big deal. But today i ordered and the girl answering the phone sounded very annoyed with me and kinda rude. Maybe she thinks im a prank caller idk. So i went down there to pick it up and working is a black haird girl wearing a mask and shes even RUDER. her talking style is combative and While ringing me up i felt like i was being attacked as she said she gonna charge me more for an extra topping. I said ok thats fine. Maybe shes having a bad day. I put my card in and tipped her $5 anyways. She bobbed her head and shrugged as if to say thats an ok tip but she feels entitled to more. If $5 aint enough your dreaming. Driving home i couldnt shake the feeling. I just wanna order a pizza i dont wanna deal with your attitude. What do i got do to be a respected customer? Idk. I wondered what the google reviews are on this place and surprise surprise, she wasnt having a bad day, shes like this all the time! there are multiple 1 star reviews talking about the rude black haird girl with the mask

staff were rude, but overall their food was good.
We love pizza at this place but the chicken wings are typically burned and today is super tiny pieces.

Young lady behind the counter is very rude. Change machine didn’t work and games for the kids take quarters and all they said rudely was to unplug it and plug it back in.
Food was great but if I’m just picking up why are you throwing it in my face that you have a new card reader and if I would like to give a tip? lol peer pressuring customers to tip is wild… back then only drivers got tipped now the whole industry wants to be tipped for doing a job they got hired for. Never going back there again.

The pizza went down hill and the service, There is this skinny, pale lady with fake lashes and a mask with black hair tied up with no name tag, super rude. It sucks that this is the pizza I ate growing up. I would rather go to Niles location farther away now then to deal with the rude lady. Not going back anymore.
Have been coming here for years never did I ever expect for the so called manager to be so rude. My son called to place an order 2hrs before they close and was declined my the manager. I called the restaurant and no explanation but “she dosnt have to take any orders if she didn’t want to and what” was given to me. This is how business go down for individuals like this. Customer service is key and respect to all people is key if you don’t like your job in the restaurant/customer service industry then leave.
I attended a large party at your facility this evening. Aside from our group, there were only two other patrons in the dining area. I value good customer service, and unfortunately, since this facility has reopened, I have consistently experienced poor and dismissive service from staff at the counter. Tonight was no exception. At 7:27 PM, I approached the counter to order another beer and was told, “We stop serving at 7:30.” When I pointed out that it was still 7:27, the employee responded, “I’m not pouring you a beer.” The interaction was unnecessarily rude and unprofessional, especially given the timing and lack of crowd. When I asked for a manager’s card, I was given a phone number that simply routes back to the restaurant, which further reflects a lack of care for accountability and customer experience. Due to the repeated poor service and the way this situation was handled, I will not be returning to this establishment.
The staff here are so mean! Like why are you yelling at me for no reason... They need to learn how to be patient and be nice to their customers.
AMAZING to me why Lolli the Latina at the register is still employed there. She needs a reality check. This place is losing lifetime customers due to her rudeness. I could tell she either hates her life or her job. SHE NEEDS TO BE FIRED IMMEDIATELY!!!!!!
This is the pizza shop me and two little boys usually go, the cashier girl named Lali is so rude, my boys play with those 50cents machines and it doesn't work, so I ask her for the money back, but she told me those toys machines is not belongs to the restaurant, and she is not gonna give me my money back. She acted like that had nothing to do with her and the restaurant, come on, those machines are in the restaurant. and she told me if the soda fountain is not working, she's not responsible for that either. She gives no solution for how I can get my money back. Then my little ones sat on the benches and it was wet, so I asked her to clean the benches, cause "that is your restaurant responsibility right?" and she refused to do so because "I didn't ask nicely." Excuse me? she said if I don't like it I should leave. I ask the owner's contact, but she refuses to give it to me. The boy cashiers on different days are nice. but because of her, probably not going back again.
