Merchant & Main Vacaville Reviews
Great place to enjoy a romantic date happy hour with friends or brunch on Sunday's. Well I guess just a great place for any occasion LOL. The staff is friendly and atmosphere is relaxing and romantic. Come enjoy a great meal. I recommend the fried calamari.
Brunch is top tier!! Bottomless champagne for a good price, can get very busy so plan accordingly for wait times. Worth the wait though!
Love the champagne brunch! The waitress never let our glasses stay empty. The breakfast burrito was absolutely amazing! I was stuffed! I will definitely return.
OMG my niece and I started getting hangry fighting San Francisco and traffic! Found this amazing place on Google maps and had one of the best meals of our trip! Calamari is A+ so was the prime rib!!!
Oyster for Oyster Shooters were way too big. The Sunday Brunch was fantastic. Martini Monday was okay...Prime Rib Special was underwhelming. Could have been better seasoned and cooked.
My wife and I have been here several times over the years. The food is always great and the service top-notch. This time we ordered one of their take home 4 person family meals. It easily fed five people.
The food here is amazing and really well priced. I would have eaten here much more while visiting but we kept trying other places. Lovely staff. We sat outside with the umbrellas over us. We all enjoyed our food.
This place is such a great time. Me and some coworkers went to this place for brunch for someone’s birthday and had a wonderful time. The 27.99 Brunch special they have is the best freaking brunch I have ever had. It is any entree with all you can drink Champagne while you dine. They also bring out a little fruit tray with crackers and cheese as an appetizer. This is actually my 2nd time there and would definitely recommend to all my friends and family.
Cute and quaint little restaurant tucked along Downtown Vacaville. They have a great selection of salads, burgers, and entrees. All items I’ve had here have been delicious and the portion sizes will leave you feeling full and satisfied. The staff are super friendly and the service is great.
Fantastic brunch on Sunday's. We had delicious food and a great atmosphere. The salmon was good, but everyone wanted my steak. The waitress was so nice and made sure we had plenty of champagne and apple cider. My only complaint is that it is only available on Sunday and that I'm not local.
Went on a Sunday for brunch and were told we would have an hour and a half wait. Asked to sit at the bar, and they said, "Sure, it's open seating." Thankfully, there were 2 seats, so my husband and I were able to sit immediately. However, we weren't served quickly. I saw that the bartender was serving people who walked up to the side of the bar ordering drinks before bringing us water or even acknowledging us even though we sat down before they walked up. There was another woman who seemed to be the manager that got us set up with place settings and everything. There was complimentary fruit and champagne while we waited for our main meal, which I appreciated. The food was decent, but something was a little off about the crabcakes to me. I asked if they were lump crabcakes prior to ordering, and the bartender responded in a way that showed she didn't know what I was talking about. I would come back but probably wouldn't sit at the bar again with that bartender there.
Definitely choose cozy outside patio on a nice warm night. Food is surprisingly great. Never had real fried calamari appetizer in strips with tasty homemade sauces, so best I've ever tried. Co-worker and I both ordered the Monday pasta special Wharfs Penne (prawn, sea scallop, clams, capers, white cream sauce, parmesan cheese) served with very tasty garlic bread. Probably could just use a little more selection of craft beers on tap...
A little too dark i guess for date night it perfect lighting but not for older people with bad eyes we had 8 people the bill was over 220 we asked the waiter to split it but it seems that was the way to get her large group tip
Great local spot. Was going through Vacaville on our way to Tahoe. Family who live in the area recommended this gem. We stopped by on the weekend and enjoyed the brunch menu. It is a set menu price with multiple items to choose from and includes mimosas. They start every table with fruit and coffee cake. We had the salmon, the california eggs benedict and the 49’er fried chicken biscuit stack. Recommend asking for extra gravy. Service is great and seating both inside and outside.
Merchant and Main, in Vacaville, is a culinary haven that offers a remarkable dining experience. From the moment we stepped into the restaurant, we were captivated by its charming ambiance and welcoming atmosphere. We came in on a Saturday night and were eager to experience a special or two and a featured glass of wine. After deciding on a few salads and the potato skins appetizer, we had our eyes set on our main courses. The veggie burger and garden salad were a perfect choice for those seeking a lighter option. The veggie burger, made with a flavorful patty and served on a toasted bun, was accompanied by a vibrant garden salad bursting with fresh, crisp vegetables. For those seeking heartier fare, the prime rib and rice pilaf plate offered a decadent indulgence. The succulent prime rib, cooked perfectly medium rare and served with a side of savory rice pilaf, was a true delight. Each bite melted in our mouths, leaving a lingering richness that made this dish an absolute standout. The salmon and baked potato plate showcased the restaurant's mastery of seafood. The salmon, very tender and flaky, was flawlessly seasoned and served alongside a perfectly baked potato. The combination of flavors was simply exquisite, a testament to the kitchen's commitment to excellence. However, the true star of our dining experience was the weekend special, a surf and turf delight featuring tri-tip and shrimp. The succulent tri-tip, cooked to perfection and accompanied by perfectly grilled shrimp, was a match made in culinary heaven. The dish was elegantly presented with a side of fresh vegetables and masked potatoes, adding an extra touch to this indulgent plate. To complement our meal, we shared a bottle of red wine that happened to be the last of its kind available for the weekend. This particular brand, selected for the weekend, showcased the restaurant's attention to detail and commitment to offering exceptional pairings. And a tasty red wine it was! Merchant and Main truly excelled in providing an unforgettable dining experience. With their diverse range of dishes, from the flavorful veggie burger to the indulgent prime rib and surf and turf, every palate was catered to. The attentive service and thoughtfully curated wine selection added to the overall charm of the restaurant. Whether you're seeking a casual lunch or a memorable dinner, Merchant and Main is a destination that promises culinary excellence and a warm, inviting ambiance.
I imagine most adults love this place, especially with the included champagne/sparkling cider and a plate of fruit and pastry served before ordering an entree. My partner is a sourdough fan who ordered Brandy Custard French and thought it was a decent flavor and texture. The salmon and bread and tater tots in the Smoke Salmon Benedict were good, but the Benedict egg could use some improvement. I forgot the dish name of the one with sausage, pepper, onion, cheese, and spinach was flavourful. A lil less grease would be excellent, but it was delicious. The staff was friendly. Lots of indoor seating. Some outdoor seating. They were packed in the weekend. Parking takes a while to find in the weekends, but there are plenty of street parking options.
I had a nice lunch on a chill afternoon with my wife, here at this venue. The service was polite and mostly prompt. The food was ok. Not that it was bad, but it was very average. The outside seating looked comfortable, especially in good weather. If I go back I'll probably try something simpler, but otherwise, a nice venue for a meal. Parking can be a bit tight during peak times it feels like.
Me and my class of 1983 crew visited Merchant and Main Mothers Day weekend. For some reason, this place does not take reservations, which I found ridiculous considering how busy it was every where. That being said, we waited a significantly long time to be seated which did not sit well with us. Our waiter was nice and made sure our glasses stayed full of champagne , however my steak and eggs was not what I expected. I will not be ordering that again....ever. Overall, my crew and I enjoyed celebrating Mothers Day weekend together and that's what mattered the most.
I was very DISAPPOINTED with Merchant and Main on Friday 1/31/26. They discontinued my favorite dish the Rib Rye steak! I got the Chargrilled New York Steak and my husband got the Chicken Marasala both had NO TASTE! I will not return until the Rib Eye is brought back! The garlic mash potatoes weren't good either. 😔
