La Gallinaccia Via Bartolomeo Gianolio Reviews
I went for dinner on a Saturday. I called that evening and they had seats for 7:30 PM. They were very kind. The place doesn't have a lot of seats, so it filled up by 9 PM, so I recommend making a reservation. The food is excellent! The gnocchi are homemade, and you can taste it, both in the flavor and texture. They were much appreciated! The stew was truly tender, melt-in-your-mouth, and perfectly seasoned. Excellent flavor! For dessert, their highlight is the bunet, dense and flavorful. Excellent choice! The agnolotti, made by local artisans, the vitello tonnato, and the tiramisu are also very good.
Very tasty food. Even the twist cap table wine was above expectation. The chap who served us was easy-going and patient. Quaint, clean place. Definitely will return.
Wow! Amazing food with local touch all in a very familiar atmosphere! We ate a 4 meal course and are so happy with this place! Of course we drank a bottle of Barolo this evening!
Super
Bra has many restaurants serving Piemontese food but La Gallinaccia is my favourite by far. You step into the wood pannelled super cozy atmosphere and immediately are primed to have a beautiful red wine from the Langhe, of which there are many great ones to choose from. The tajarin al ragù is legendary, and the brandacujun (I discovered what it was here) is exceptional. Great place, super friendly people and a wonderful experience.
Great spot with a cozy atmosphere and authentic local food.
Stre-pi-to-so!!
I had the best food of last couple of months. Chill, medieval-like atmosphere and music; amazing balance of flavours, cozy yet very strong and elaborate dishes and tastes that embrace you. An echanting experience in a very authentic way. (We tried the cipollone and capocollo with Barolo.)
A great discovery! We stumbled upon this place when looking for a restaurant offering local food and loved it! As entree we got a plate of raw meat (a beef tartare and a Bra sausage) and a plate of filled paprika. We then took pasta with Bra sausage ragù and eventually we also took a semifreddo and a Bunet. From all the dishes everything was well balanced, portions were just right and in all tasted awesome! Service was also very friendly and professional, price was just right. Would definitely come back.
Rich delicious pastas. Warm, inviting space and service.
Cher Mauri is one of the most honest chefs I know. Warm, inviting and passionate about food - how it’s grown, raised and best ways to prepare. He is the true embodiment of passions for both food and service. I only wished I lived here to spend more time at his restaurant. Any aspiring chefs out there must go and just watch him in action. (He leads local tours of the terroir and cooking classes too by the way).
Everything is fresh and homemade. You can see the owner in the back cooking away on her own recipes. This is not a family-owned restaurant but it has that feel. The food is very nice and tastes like you are eating in your Italian mom's kitchen. The presentation is elegant and hearty for the average eater. We had the fixed menu which includes everything from the aperitif to coffee at the end but does not include drinks. Table service is 1 euro per person, the fixed menu is 24 to 28 euros and a bottle of wine starts at about 15 euros. We got out of there for about 65 euros. For me, the price was worth it. I highly recommend this trattoria.
Great and affordable traditional Piemontese!

Here's your revised and improved review: We had lunch at this restaurant on Sunday. The decor is well-maintained and reflects the style of the place, with a pleasant atmosphere inside. The dishes were quite good, although they lacked vegetables and fish. I'm giving it 4 stars mainly because of the rude attitude of one waitress, who made frequent negative comments, ruining the atmosphere at our table.
A lovely little casual eatery in central Bra, loved the simplicity of the menu and each dish we ordered was lovely. It suited us when we wanted hearty home cooking. A lovely host, young guy, with a great playlist. Nice to be surrounded by local families in a full resto on a Tuesday evening :)
Lovely little restaurant near the edge of the town centre. But worth a visit. The outside seating is a little detached from the restaurant (the waiting staff must get their steps in!), but set under some arches, which give it a nice vibe. The food was lovely and the service was great.
Nice trattoria, we ate under the famous town arches that are super close
Went here for a birthday/class celebration. Because we were in 30, we called ahead and sorted out a fixed menu for €35 each with the owner/manager. We specifically asked for a vegan option for antipasti, primi e dolce for me and they promised us they could do that. When I got there, the lady acted surprised and said she had no idea. She offered me bagna cauda (not vegan) for antipasto and pasta in bianco as primi... and no dessert. Instead of apologising or offering a discount she tried to explain that leeks at this time of year cost more than meat... I was speechless. No humility or desire for me to enjoy my meal. Incredibly audacious.
Not so very good food, quite expensive
