Trattoria dell'Alpe Via Per Ganna Reviews
Simple, yet excellent, food. Generous portions that are sure to fill you up. The wine is good. The homemade desserts are exceptional. The service is very friendly, yet always attentive and considerate.
Excellent lunch, warm atmosphere, quality and quantity of food, fair price
Everything was delicious: casoncelli with braised meat, polenta, braised meat, and scialatielli with wild boar ragù were spectacular. Beautiful setting, and the price was absolutely reasonable for what we ate. Those who say it's expensive should stay home!
Simple, rustic dishes typical of the wooded/mountainous area where the restaurant is located. This doesn't detract from the excellent flavors of the cuisine. The restaurant is 1980s-style but well-maintained, a simple yet welcoming place, as are the friendly and approachable staff. We'll definitely be back; we ate well and had a lovely, informal family lunch.
The restaurant is in mountain style, with plenty of stoves and a beautiful fireplace that warms and creates an atmosphere. The cuisine is homemade and delicious. Of course, we tried the polenta with a trio of Bruscitt, Asino, and Venison. Delicious. Even the polenta served as a cake in the center of the table is something spectacular. The desserts are all homemade; I opted for the pear and chocolate cake paired with a spoonful of their handmade Fiordilatte ice cream. Sublime.
super
Just a few minutes' drive from Varese. Expertly prepared traditional dishes. A very welcoming atmosphere. The road leading there is typically mountainous but well-maintained. Parking is difficult in the small village, but the restaurant has several private parking lots. If they're full, there's a nearby parking lot. The portions are generous and the prices are reasonable. Perfect after a nearby hike. Don't miss the summit of Monte Poncione, about 40 minutes from the restaurant.
I stopped by on Saturday for lunch. The building and rooms are well-maintained. I ate on the veranda, which also offered a panoramic view of the Varese peaks. I chose the casoncelli with sausage and porcini mushrooms; the dish was generous and good quality, the mushrooms weren't heavy, and the pasta and sauce were excellent. The others who stopped with me ordered a charcuterie board, which they said could have had more selection, and trofie with pesto. The prices are reasonable, and the staff (I assume the owner) is courteous and helpful. In short, I recommend it for anyone visiting Valganna and the Italian Lake Lugano area.
It is a family run business and there is always a great atmosphere. If you want to experience true flavours of the North of Italy, go there: I thoroughly recommend it.
We went for lunch today and were immediately captivated by the place and the welcome. The manager, a true host, made us feel at home and offered us excellent local dishes such as tagliatelle with wild boar ragù and casoncelli with braised beef, venison and polenta with Zola cheese. Everything was excellent, flavorful, in short, perfect! It's our first time there, but it will definitely become a go-to place for us in the Verzasca Valley.
We were guests of a friend and had a hard time finding a table. The restaurant is simple, typically rustic. The menu consists mainly of polenta with a variety of side dishes: from game to cheese, including beef and mushrooms. There are also first courses with game. The wine was decent. We didn't order dessert, so I can't comment on that. Overall, the food was good quality and well presented. Non-woven tablecloths and napkins were provided. I think the prices are a bit high, but this is a place where you can find "special" dishes. Parking is limited when the restaurant is full.
Reservations are almost mandatory, Saturdays and Sundays are often crowded, the dishes are always the same, but always good and for various tastes, undoubtedly mountainous. For table service, if crowded, be patient, two people do what they can. Appetizers, first courses, second courses, side dishes, desserts, all homemade. Water, wine, bitters, liqueurs, digestives, coffee for the most demanding. The bill? Adequate for the drinks...then a nice walk through the woods to digest and breathe clean air.
Trattoria serving typical mountain cuisine...polenta, game, and more...the atmosphere is informal and very friendly, even the waiters...the food is excellent, but the prices are very high, not so much for the dishes themselves, but for the water, cover charge, and dessert, which raised our average bill! It's a shame, because the food is very good.
Not exceptional food, excessively expensive compared to quality and service
