Pretty nice place with really great food!! We came here after hearing about it from my wife's cousin. The menu has plenty of really good looking dishes and appetizers to choose from! They do have kids menus, but you have to ask as it's not on their menu sheet. I ordered the Big Dixie , a big chicken fried chicken breast in Buffalo sauce with Bleu cheese crumbles and Lettuce and tomatoes with a side of their beer cheese fries. My wife ordered their BLT and a side of the beer cheese fries. We got our son the kids chicken strips and fries with BBQ sauce dip. They both had Cokes for their drinks, while I had Dos Equis draft. My Big Dixie buffalo chicken sandwich was really good as were the Beer cheese fries!! My wife said her BLT and beer cheese fries were delicious also. Our boy said he really liked his chicken strips and BBQ dipping sauce. The place has a really nice ambience and there are quite a few TV screens on the walls for sports etc... Our waitress came by to check on us a few times to make sure we were doing ok. We agreed we wouldn't mind coming back in for lunch again sometime. There wasn't a very big crowd in there at the time either!
Not a brewery!!!!!! It's a bar with food! Again, they do not brew beer here, despite the name! Other than that I had a beer and left, seems like a really nice place and good food, good service. Dumb name TBH....
1st time here, food was EXCELLENT! Jalapeño boudin bacon poppers were to die for!! Burgers were stellar! Atmosphere is so cool, bar like but still kid and family friendly!! Service was 5++ star!!!
Rikenjacks is great! Tons of variety, so there is something for every appetite. We had the delicious Asian chicken salad which we enjoyed on the patio. Wait staff was friendly and helpful and the atmosphere was fun!
Drinks.food. atmosphere! All thumbs up on! Definitely one of the best brewery's to go to in South East Texas I've seen so far, had a blast and the server was on top of Everything! Definitely on the revisit list for sure!
The boudin is amazing, the beer brats are on point. Their specialty beer cheese was fabulous. The beer selection has a little something for all flavor profiles. And the service from Reagen, the bar tender was attentive, prompt, and friendly. She was awesome and if I'm ever in this part of Texas again I will be back.
Simple and to the point very nice place food is good. Has pool tables and stage for live music.
Awesome atmosphere. Service was great. Food amazing. I want to try everything on the menu. I had the fish and it was just how I like it fried. The person I was there with had the nachos and it was a lot. And treated great. Our server was very attentive. Definitely will go back when in the area
First timer!! I NEVER eat all my food. I Always leave with a Togo box but I didn’t tonight! The food was sooo good, I ate every bite. I love the waffle fries! Our server Tiffany made the experience great! Very polite & thoughtful! Will definitely be coming back.
Found this place not far from where I'm staying. Great energetic people working there, food comes out in a timely manner, and bartenders are great to deal with. It is a family friendly place so there will be children playing outside, (sometimes inside), but still a great place. This place is owned by the same people as Dylans and Madisons in the surrounding area. Now it ask how much I spent per person and I put $30-$50 because I hung around and listened to the live music while drinking beer...
My fiance, Tiffany, works here and I absolutely love it. Fun atmosphere for all ages! They have pool tables, washer boards, and a huge connect four that we like to play with our son. The staff is great, and the food is awesome.
I go here at least once a week. The food is delicious and reasonable, the atmosphere fun and family friendly. Everyone that works there is friendly and helpful. They have karaoke night, they have music nights and they're always having special events. I'd have to say it's my favorite place in town.
We always have great service, amazing food, cooked to perfection... We go here often and never have had a bad experience. I love the atmosphere and friendly service. Definitely one to recommend!
Terry was our server and omg he did AMAZING.... Thank you for so much fun and a wonderful lunch. This place is amazing... not sure how to change the location but Terry is at the Lumberton one
Awesome spot, they have a lot of things that other people don't and that in itself is refreshing.
I love this place!! Totally relaxing environment!! Great songs in background!!
Amazing food, always love the fried chicken tacos. Just felt out of place with the customer base there lol.
Good crawfish good service really good atmosphere.
Make the stop for a great burger! And waffles fries!!! We stopped based on other reviews and it was worth it. The young man was courteous and friendly. Food came out quickly and we were back on the road. The place looks like it’s happening after hours (21 and over after 10). But definitely family friendly before then. Thanks. Great service is hard to come by these days.
Called in an order for buffalo chicken fries..... they have queso and are amazing!!!... went to pick it up and noticed they were slamming busy. Was greeted by all three waiters/bartenders that were busting tail running around to give everyone the best experience possible. All 3 checked on my order and have me updates and apologized for my wait which wasn't even that bad!!!
Good place to eat. Best crawfish in the area. The rest of the menu is decent. The live music can get a little too loud but that's personal preference (I like to be able to talk to the person next to me).
My friend made a reservation months in advance and they kept it. Many people came and it seems like everyone got great service. I was happy with the fried mushrooms and drinks. Doesn't hurt the wallet too much, but you are paying for good food, so it's not cheap. Get what you pay for though.
I have to give a shout out to Gracie! I went to their clean bathroom and Miss Gracie was on the counter top cleaning the top of the mirror! She went above and beyond to take pride in the cleanliness of her place of employment! Love this little bar!
We came here to catch up with a long time friend. We loved being able to sit outside and enjoy the weather, the drinks and the food. Braden, The server was professional, friendly and very attentive. He did an excellent job! The food was delicious!
have been coming here for YEARS, and have never had a bad experience! Haly is one of the best souls i’ve ever met, but all the staff and nice and friendly people to be around!
Updating my review from 4 stars to 5. I originally had it at 4 because our waiter was very slow but also very friendly. I am updating it to 5 because they did excellent during quarantine. We had take out and it was ready quickly and they called me to let me know, when I got there they had it blocked off very well and the staff took proper precautions. Food was delicious as always.
We sat in the outdoor patio with our dog and everyone was so nice! They brought water for our dog and everyone wanted to pet her, they even brought her a treat! It was fairly cold out so they turned on the fire pit and heaters so we would be comfortable. Definitely recommend!!
Had a really nice dinner tonight. Definitely recommend the Mamou Chicken and the sliders. Definitely have to get the bread pudding for dessert, as well. So good! Our waitress, April, was the sweetest. Very good service!
We ate a marvelous steak dinner at Rikenjaks Brewing Co. The waitstaff was courteous and very attentive to our needs. The steak was cooked the way each of us desired. The steak was more than a generous piece of meat, more than I could finish, and was seasoned superbly, tender and delicious. The atmosphere was pleasant and we had a very good experience...we will be going back when we want a good steak. Oh and I forgot about the salad...the salad was yummy too with delicious ranch dressing. You do not have to travel to Beaumont for a delicious steak dinner...give Rikenjaks Brewing Co. your time and business...you won't be sorry.
Rikenjaks Vidor has the friendliest staff I’ve ever encountered in my 15 years of traveling the country. They make you feel at home. The food’s great, especially the ribeye bites, and they have live Texas country music on a regular basis. Make a pass and thank me later.
I’ve been going here in July ‘24, and from the first time I came in, Haly has been the GOAT! She’s funny, good with people, always remembers me and my normal orders. The food is great, a fun environment and most of the staff is simply a hoot. I recommend my friends and coworkers here frequently, and myself a usually a fly on the wall when there’s an Astros game on!
Great atmosphere with matching service and food. We were seated promptly with menus and drink orders taken. Our food came out quickly and was hot and delicious 😋
Definitely, stop by 2 have the serpenter, Ms. Elena. The server there is very hospitable and definitely has you covered I will definitely be coming back to dine with them again. She was kind courteous, and there any time.My cup was almost empty with another refill. As well as any future needs that may arise
It's a great place to go to visit with friends and have a nice meal. The food is good, the service was excellent, and the inside is set up like a nice sports bar. They even have an outside where you can visit and eat when the weather is nice.
The wait staff (Nicole) and the bartender (Hailey) did a great job . Was a busy night but they all stayed on top of our orders , very nice and made sure everything was to our liking . Did not see anyone leave disappointed , had a great time .
Haly is amazing!!! Every time I come in she always has a smile on her face and working like crazy. I love how she knows exactly what we want before we sit down. She’s the bartender that makes you feel like home. Everyone at Riks is awesome!
Haly is the BEST bartender! She’s always attentive and her mixed drinks are ALWAYS on point!! She very sociable and loves all of her customers. She gives everyone their own attention. She’s just the best!
GREAT EVERYTHING!! THIS PLACE ROCKS! Waiter: Dillon. THANK YOU DILLON! Arrived after dark and after a long day of driving. Never been here before. Parking lot was flat, paved with plenty of spaces. Walked in and immediately greeted by Dillon, given a table and menus and drink order taken in less than 1 minute! Everyone likes fast service, but I understand it's not always possible. Nevertheless, this was lightening fast. I wish I had asked the bartender's name. She made a great Long Island and a Dirty Martini. Done well and she was a crack up! We aren't southerners, but we are foodies. Dillon was gracious enough to explain the menu items like this: "My grandpa always made THE BEST gumbo, but the gumbo here is handmade and REALLY GOOD." How do you resist food described like that?? We ordered (and I would highly recommend any of these): Fried Green Tomatoes (house-made) Boudain Balls (house-made) Gumbo (house-made) Cajun Chicken & Onions in Sauce (house-made) I know I've gone on about this place, but you won't be disappointed. Thanks to all the staff for an excellent experience.
I love this place. This is my go too place to bring my family and friends out to eat. They have a wide variety of foods on the menu. I have tasted most of them, and so far everything has been delicious. Not to mention the portions are always big. The staff is very friendly and the service is fast. The restaurant is clean. I never feel rushed leaving me Plenty of time to visit with family and friends.
Lots of fun. Everyone enjoyed the food and drinks. The waitress was lovely. Will be returning the next time I am in area.
Got the lazy shrimp pistolettes and Cajun charcuterie board. Each was flavored distinctly differently and wonderfully spiced. They had a dog-friendly patio, and the location is conveniently in between an interstate exit and onramp, so it's super convenient as a quick hop-off-hop-on spot while traveling. 10/10 would do again.
It's a very casual place to meet friends and hang out. Outdoor eating area is available. Server was great and food was good. It didn't take long to get our meal. It's the normal type of food you'd expect at a grill. The burgers are large. We don't go out often but this was an enjoyable evening.
It was amazibg had a blast, the server made sure we had everything we need, food hit the spot i brought home a good bit
Really cool place. The name is a bit misleading as it only has one house beer but overall a really fun atmosphere and great waiters and waitresses.
Service was outstanding. Our waiter was helpful with questions about menu items and other questions we had. The food was delicious. Photos of the motza stick are half because we dove into them. 😃 The gumbo was good though I would love more seasoning. The Pulled pork sliders were good but needed more BBQ sauce (which was provided when asked) Mac and cheese was ehhh but the burger was delicious!. Onion rings were really nice. Crispy and hot.
Ordered the Patio Platter with mushrooms x2, cheese sticks, and fried pickles. Everything was delicious and this appetizer was more than enough for 4 people. Love the blonde craft beer, too. Service was fast and very accommodating. Four stars for atmosphere only because the juke box volume was too low. Could barely hear the songs we paid to play.
Had a great dinner here. Ms. April Rose was our sever she treated my family of 6 like she was part of the family. She was sweet to my kids and shared her time overviewing the menu with my kids. She never forgot us and showed genuine care. Food was great too.
Good food great service. Almost nobody visits so locals get excited when they see outsiders. The people are so nice they taking pictures with tourist. They are really fond of LGBT+ and folks of color. Recently they did a celebration for Junetenth. The decorations were so cute. Bring your friends bring your coworkers. I would had too see this place go out of business.
Ok great place all the way! Cory Michael was on stage and what a talented man he is! Special guest Kenny Cooper was in the house and drummer Chad Harmon. Try the Nachos and I have included many pictures to show you what to expect. Hard to believe 3 weeks ago this place was 9 feet under water. Great recovery.
So, I've read through the good and the bad reviews. Taking away stars because a fight broke out, or because there are kids at a family restaurant is just silly! The nachos and the drinks were delicious! Service by bartender Jennifer was excellent! For a couple just going to eat, have a different atmosphere in a locally dull area, and have a couple of drinks, the experience was perfect. We had a really nice time.
1st visit. Nice place. We went outside, even had an option to stay outside & covered when the rain began. Draft beers were good. Family friendly. Good nachos & RikenPeppers. Didn't really go inside so no ranking there.
Crawfish were ok but not one corn or potato. Also ordered 5 and 2 lb. It was only 4 dollars less for 2lb. Wish someone had told me. I didn't even know there was a special. First time here. Just wish things had been communicated. Otherwise things were ok. I would have paid extra for corn and potato if offered also would have went with 10lbs instead of 7.
It was great! The wait staff was the only reason why I didn't give them 5 stars. The young lady wasn't as knowledgeable as she could have been about the menu. Other than that the service was great. And the food was on point!
We went on 4/11 to eat dinner. We got there at opening and got a table pretty fast. We ordered an appetizer that took 45 minutes to come out and our dinner took an hour and a half to come out. I attached a photo of the crawfish I got with a potato. I ordered two extra potatoes but only received one. I was told that each potatoe cost $1. This potato was the size of a golf ball. I don’t think I should have to pay $1 for a tiny potato. Most places do 3 for a $1. Overall the place was very nice and the food was absolutely amazing. We will return when they work out all of the kinks.
Food is great. Service is great. A little pricey especially the pool tables.
Food was ok not great. Good service considering it was pretty busy
Me and my husband had the grilled salmon and the grilled tuna. I didn't know to order it a little on the medium side so the fish was pretty dry and over done but was seasoned good and the sides were good. We had a very sweet waitress and enjoyed our date.
It was my first time there. The place is very eye appealing Plenty of space to park. I went on a Thursday night it wasn't really too busy. Good atmosphere and Plenty of food choices. We had the salsa and beer cheese appetizer. I didn't like the taste of the salsa . I couldn't quite put my finger on it, but Cajun seasoning. The beer cheese was very good. I had the pulled pork sliders a little dry for my taste and not enough BBQ sauce. The onion strings were delicious and perfectly seasoned. My friend had the shrimp poboy and said it was really good. All in all a good experience We will give it another try.
Fun family place for karaoke on Friday nights. They took out the corn hole game outside is my only negative
Nice atmosphere, went on a Friday night, people were singing karaoke. Bread pudding is good, only complaint is bartender didnt know how to properly make a cosmopolitan drink so I sent it back and there were young kids there...at 10 at night. Not really what I want to see when out at night having drinks I could have stayed at home with my own kids
The food was good. Especially the nachos. But I'm taking off a couple of stars for two things... First, the place has a little bit of a dive bar vibe with the black floors and ceilings. So the decor could use some refinement. Second, they don't currently serve their own craft beers at this location due to distribution issues across state lines (they're based in Louisiana). So a major part of the appeal of this restaurant is lost. I would definitely give them another try after they work out the beer distribution issue. Otherwise, they're a pass for now.
First time there. Seemed like a great atmosphere. After the first rum and coke, it felt like each additional drink was all coke and no rum. Band was also great, but all waiters left at 9pm, the band was playing til 11pm, which didn't make sense. The bartenders completely ignored my boyfriend when he had to go to the bar to get our drinks, and decided to gossip instead. Left there feeling almost no buzz, with a tab of $95 for nachos appetizer, 6 rum and cokes, 4 beers, and 3 shots of fireball. I feel like we got cheated. Aside from the band, I wouldn't recommend this place if you like your wallet and actually enjoy an evening of drinking out.
I was not impressed by the crawfish. I am very particular though. Others may like them. I however did not. The price was a little on the steep side for the quality of food. The staff was very helpful and checked on us often. The open bar that led outside made the inside infested with flies. We constantly swatted them away and it seemed like more kept coming. I would recommend this place of they can find a way to separate the bar from the inside and get rid of the flies.
We were excited to try this place with it having so many good reviews, but honestly we were a little disappointed. Three stars only because 1) fries and hush puppies were very good (The rest of our food was just okay.) 2)Beer was cold 3) nice patio HOWEVER. our server was not the best. Had to ask for refills, and she was just kinda short with us the entire time we were there, didn’t even say bye or have a nice night or anything the last time she came to the table, just walked away. I really don’t even think she smiled at us at all. Menu was kind of weird too, not very descriptive about things and a few other odd things we noticed about it. No drink menu? When I asked the waitress if they had hard cider she said no, but then said that they did have angry orchard and Red’s ........ the couple next to us was sitting chatting after their meal and one of the staff came and asked them if they were going to be hanging out or leaving, which I thought was unnecessary (and a little rude) considering the majority of tables were empty. Honestly seemed like the majority of the staff were young and either not trained well on good customer service or just didn’t care. We’d probably come back just to give it another chance (maybe on a different night, maybe the service would be better?) But all in all, pretty disappointing first impression.
We stopped on a road trip to stretch our legs. Thought this was a brewery. They had one beer on tap from the original brewery and it was out of stock. That’s why this is only 3 stars. The staff was amazing! The menu was stellar. So if you want good food right off the highway this is your spot.
Boudin balls were good and the waffle fries. The chicken Mac and chicken sandwich were bland. I just expected more from a place like this. Drinks were nice and strong though and the atmosphere was great. Stop and check it out.
UPDATE: I’m updating because the manager was really nice when I called and gave us credit for our next visit. Customer service is amazing, but the food.. we shall see next time! I really used to love Rikenjaks, but it’s like they’re steadily going down hill. It’s a hit or miss on if you’ll have good food or not. They used to take pride in their food and lately it seems like they don’t even care. They just slap stuff together and confidently send it out the door. Very sad because when I really crave it is when it’s always bad. My food is almost always soggy, half way battered, or just messy as all get out. Their “cheese” sticks are hollow sticks of grease. Very disappointing.
Food was very good, but that is where it ended. I understand it has a bar and people will drink and get loud. But to have the staff drinking and cursing LOUDLY and excessively while there are patrons with children in there is unacceptable. Service was lackluster, had to ask a different waitress for napkins as well as ask her to find our waitress so we could pay our bill was just pathetic. Will not be returning or recommending this establishment to anyone.
Friday night at 7:30, most tables full, and there appeared to be 3 servers, 1 host, and 1 bartender. After being seated, I did not see a server for 15 minutes. I caught a server's eye and asked, "Do we have a server?" She replied that she thought it was her and whe was mixed up. We ordered drinks and an appetizer. Bar drinks came shortly, but the non-alcoholic beverages never came. Our appetizer was delivered and the kids didn't have drinks, and our server was MIA. I got up and helped myself to the fountain station near our table. Our server came out of the kitchen looking perplexed, so I explained that the kids needed drinks. She tried to help, and I asked her to go to the table and take dinner orders since I had this covered. While taking our order, the server argued with us about the menu because the tablets they put orders into don't reflect the menu options. One dish came out wrong, and one dish didn't come at all. 15 minutes after the first of the dishes were delivered, our server checked back and realized we were missing food. She mentioned she was fighting with the kitchen staff. I asked her to please have the meal re-fired. There were no napkins, so my husband got up and helped himself to a roll of paper towels in the drink station, as we saw other tables near us doing the same. We joked that we were sitting in the "self-service" station. To sum it up, every time I come to this location, the service is worse. I like the food, but the service is just silly at this point. Tonight was my fault because I was willing to give them another chance after multiple poor experiences. **** Saturday at noon, few tables occupied, yet service is slow. Food is good as usual, but staff is visiting around the bar instead of tending to the tables. On our last few visits, we've noticed a decline in service. The food is always good, but there are always different employees. A year ago, we frequently saw the same staff, and the service was great. The last several visits have been marked with seemingly new staff and subpar service. The food has been consistently good for the most part.
I gave 2 stars because they added an automatic tip for a "large party" when there was only 4 of us. Original we were expecting 6, but 2 didn't show. So, instead of adjusting it in the computer, the waitress left it and added the gratuity to each of our tickets individually. If she had removed it, we were all prepared to tip her on our own. 4 separate checks, 4 separate tips.
I had been wanting to try this place for a while. Big disappointment. I was originally planning a large dinner here a few months back, but plans changed. Very glad that happened now. Both my mother and I got the blackened chicken alfredo pasta. Both were ridiculously salty. They honestly tasted like salt was the only seasoning they used. We did put our own pepper and salt but I can promise you that it was not enough to make it THAT salty. The manager that came out was very nice in general and about getting us new dishes. The waitress, had an attitude and it only got worse after we told her our dishes were salty. My new dish was the Californian burger and the little I tasted before packing it up was fine. My mother got some sandwich with onion straws, which were cold. She just decided to pack hers up as well and heat it up later. It is very rare for me to send back a dish, and it is very rare for me to tip below 20%. Both happened in this case. I’m sure it’s a nice drinking place, especially after 10pm, but I will not be going back there for dinner.
Crawfish were pretty good, but the server never offered any extras like potatoes or corn. Server kept ignoring our table. She didn't know the drinks. Then their soda machine stopped working so they charged us for each refill without telling us and made us pay for it until we made a fuss. It's not our fault their machine was broke and if they had notified us they were going to charge us for soda refills, that would have been different. Then they were rude about it. The Karaoke DJs were not as fun as the guy they've had before.
Gritty, smallest I've had this season, and no heat. Don't order the crawfish here. The service is horrible. We sat looking at dead crawfish buckets for 20mins waiting on our server to bring our ticket.
We came for the crawfish but all three of us had to trash at least 1/3 of each of our plates bc the were inedible (they were either over/double boiled or rotten/dead well before boiling). Our waitress was almost impossible with answering questions(like we annoyed her?) and with such a bad attitude we were kind of surprised, we've all worked in service so we came in not expecting super personal service but we thought she had eventually clocked out with how long we went without seeing her; had to flag down another server for our boxes and ticket. They can't handle a rush. The $10 margarita was so AWFUL, like dishwater with salt.. We all left very disappointed and upset after not having a terribly high standard in the first place.
I’ve been in the restaurant business a long time and never heard of charging for mustard with an order of boudain balls, every side is of sauce is extra even tartar sauce with my seafood meal. I was afraid they were going to charge me to wash my hands and the food was ok potato’s were raw in the middle with the crawfish. @Owner can you please tell my why you are the only restaurant i have been to that charges for a side gag should come with the dish? Thanks
My sister and I got off work early, so we decided to go to casa ole to get margaritas, however on our way to vidor she changed her mind and said let me check if rickenjacks has crawfish. She called at 8:20 and they assured us they had crawfish. We took the exit and arrived at 8:23. We stood at the door for like 7-8 minutes. People noticed us but didn't approach. A patron comes up to us and says just go ahead and sit anywhere and they will come serve you. We opted to sit outside because I smoke and we were waiting on my sisters son to join us. We go to the porch and there were 2 servers coming in and out. My nephew arrives and we still sit there patiently. The servers continue doing their thing and we wave them over. They instead go back inside. Another employee and even the bartender come out to try and get the patio lights turned on, which we try to flag down again. Instead they go back inside. So, I go inside to approach the bar. I order a margarita and 2 dr peppers and told the bartender we have been sitting outside waiting. She said, if you want I can send your server out with these drinks, I said fine but at least prepare my margarita. I pay for my drink and head outside, which 25 minutes have already passed. We go outside again and wait longer. My sister is starting to get a little flustered. A busser comes out and goes back in with trash from a finished table. So we he comes back out, we finally get his attention. We tell him we've been out here, and no one has acknowledged us. He says he will get the server, another 8 minutes pass and she comes out with menus. We say it's going to be simple... 2 dr peppers, which the bartender didn't tell her to get, and 5 pounds of crawfish. She goes back inside, and we wait another 5 minutes, and she comes back out with a face. She says I'm sorry but we are out of crawfish. This this time my sister is heated. We get up, go inside and my sister goes straight to the bartender, who we assume was the person we spoke to on the phone, and also the one who assured us would send a server with 2 dr peppers to come outside. She said we waited 40 minutes only to be told that you are out of crawfish after you assured us over the phone, that you had it available. We assured her we would never go back, and trust me when my sister has a grudge she never lets go. Dinner was ruined, casa ole was already closed and there were no other places available for dinner. We went home with empty bellies. We both work in the restaurant industry and we could have easily been recognized since we were still in uniform. The patrons even noticed us since we stuck out like a sore thumb, even though we have lived in Vidor for 40+ years.
They didnt have the food i went there for (crawfish) then i changed what i wanted (they didnt have that) so thought you cNt go wrong with a stake. The stake wasnt seasoned good if seasoned at all, the potato had a box taste to it (dry and bland) and the salad wasnt your typical salad (not sure what lettuce they use). Also it came out 10min or more after the other two people i was with and they were half done when I got my food. So not going back because of the food. It was a bar atmosphere, not so much family place (not that we have kids just setting the suroundings) so thats probably why alot of people go there not sure. The staff and waitress where very nice. I took the food home seasoned the stake and added butter, salt and pepper to potatoes and alot of A1 sauce to make it enable. It was expensive and wasn't going to not eat it. JUST NOT HAPPY WITH THE PLATE I GOT AT ALL.
At the Vidor location: Came in with family over the holidays and was expecting a friendly atmosphere but what we got was an incredibly hostile environment. The food was great but service was terrible. The servers and bartenders do nothing except stand in a corner talking with themselves. The bartenders are openly hitting their vapes in front of customers to the point that we are surrounded by clouds while eating dinner. The drinks are so poorly made that I had to ask for an extra shot of alcohol just so I could taste something. This may be a decent enough spot for you if you're looking for a dive bar where no one cares about you. But if you're looking for a restaurant with friendly staff and a clean enviornment, go somewhere else. Can't wait to never return.
Food was alright but prices were bad and service was atrocious. $9.75 a beer (“ghost in the system” IPA), $10 for some watered down juice for the lady. $16 for some chicken strips on fries (buffalo chicken waffle fries). Service was nonexistent, waitress was more worried about playing pool with her colleagues. We had leftovers we would have kept but waitress was too absent to get boxes.
We are on our way home from San Antonio and looking for something to eat. Read a few reviews and decided on this place. We walked up and 5 ladies were standing waiting for someone to acknowledge them to be seated. They said they had been standing there for at least 5 minutes. My two boys and I went to the bathroom and when I came back they still were waiting in front of my wife. It appeared maybe one waitress was working but still no one spoke to us. We decided to leave and so did the party of 5 in front of us and the party of 3 behind us. So they missed out on 3 tables of business.
Absolutely the worst service I’ve ever had. They weren’t even busy. Took our drink order and at least 35 min before he came back to take our food order. We actually got up and got our own refills and silverware after we finally got our food. It was like we didn’t even exist (party of 8) I have seen cleaner bathrooms at a run down 7-11, absolutely disgusting.
Food is good but service sucks. I called in an order for pick up. I let them know I was going to take a little longer than 20 min to get to them. When I go to pick up my order they don't even have it (it's been over 30 minutes). They scramble around and I leave with nothing but wasted time, shrugs, and sorry. I'm going to order from the other location from now on.
Our server hannah was terrible, when ordering our food we told her lots of sauce for the 15 pounds of crawfish we ordered after asking 6 times she threw her hands up and walked away came back and tossed one sauce on our table. The whole experience was terrible. She had an attitude from the first second we sat down. Food was great service sucked. When you go make sure you don’t get “Hannah banana” as your waitress.
Met my daughter there for lunch on 1/12/26. We both had chicken strips with onion strings and got the app of cheese dip and salsa. Cheese dip was good, salsa was watery. Chicken strips had a different flavor, wasn't sure if it was seasoning or what. We brought them home in a to go box. Later, I got sick, then my daughter got sick. Fed the leftover strips to my dog and that night, SHE got sick.
Our server, Gracie C, was our waitress tonight and she let us down. Everything was fine at first but I guess she just decided playing pool with her friends was better than dealing with us. Our last round of drinks took about 15 minutes to get due to the bartender talking with a friend as well. I don’t know how this place has lasted as long as it has already due to the other reviews saying service was terrible as well. I guess the owners don’t care if their staff wants to ruin their reputation.
I came in to pick up my lunch. Nobody greeted me. I stood at the bar for two or three minutes. I had to ask them if my food was ready they were too busy playing with a dog.
I left hungry and thirsty! And I didn't tip something I haven't done since I was a teenager. Bartender was inattentive at best, my pulled pork sliders were all sauce and onion straws and so soggy I couldn't pick it up to even take a bite set them on a napkin to try and soak up some of the sauce they were drowned in. The onion straws were white not golden and also soggy. When I said something I was given $3 off a $15 meal I didn't eat not even a bite out of the sliders. I did eat my side and some of the onions which I said I'd gladly pay for. After letting me know I was only getting a $3 discount on the slop they served me the bartender didn't ask if we needed/wanted anything else just promptly printed our ticket (I wanted another beer since I hadn't eaten I at least wanted a drink). My daughter did enjoy her meal but the soda she ordered tasted off, asked to get a sweet tea instead... We were charged for both... The equivalent of the "discount" they gave for the inedible food they served me.
This place is a joke!!! I seen this place on tic tok but the other location was super excited to give it a try. From the moment we walked in it was a disaster. We sat down ordered a drink and looked through the menu. We asked the server several questions about the menu that she couldn't come close to answer. Like sauses, appetizers even main menus items. I wanted a crispy chicken sandwich which wasn't on the menu, however they said it wasn't a problem. I told the server I wanted lettuce, toms, American cheese and mayo. It came out with Swiss cheese which I'm not crazy about. The server then took my food back to fix. All awhile my boyfriend is having to eat alone since I didn't have food. My "remade" sandwich did come out with no cheese and the American cheese on the side. So I just decided to put the cheese on myself. Upon constructing my sandwich I turned my chicken over and what did I see. Freaking Swiss cheese. I was pissed. The cooks in the kitchen simply took what cheese they could take off and flipped it over. By this time I've had enough. We work way too hard to pay for food and to be treated like that was just too much. Now remember it was a disaster from the beginning not just the sandwich but this post would have been a longer "book" than this already was.
Workers really need to be educated and trained properly. We eat here at least once a week since we live very close by. Im 30 years old and went to eat with my boyfriend last night like usual. I rode with him so i left my wallet at his house. However i have the Government App of LA Wallet on my phone which is acceptable everywhere for my ID. Even to get on a plane or DMVs. The waiter accepted my ID, then the manager came to us and said she would not accept my ID, since they are not educated on the app. The waiter also forgot half of our order. He was very nice, however they seemed like a bunch of kids not knowing how to truly run a restaurant. We usually never have any issues here but last night was not the case. Food was great! The cooks never disappoint!
