Best Popeyes Chicken Sandwich I have had since it came out. It’s chaotic right now because this place just opened but it’s worth the wait.

Popeyes isn't known for their service but this one has always had good/decent service and food, which I appreciate

I read the reviews on this establishment and I honestly don’t understand what the problem they had. My personal experience taught a completely different story. Upon arriving at this Popeyes fast food restaurant located in wappinger falls NY, the first impression was that an employee inside saw I exited my car as he learned I was physically disabled and opened the restaurant entrance doors for me. Secondly, before I made my order I told the cashier that I was deaf and he immediately began to communicate with me using body sign language, something 99% of people don’t bother with trying to do to make communication easier for the deaf. I was so impressed that I had to compliment him on his effort. Thirdly, I told him I couldn’t carry my food to the table as I needed to walk using a walker and asked if he could bring my food to the table for me, and he did so without hesitation; he also brought variety of sauces for me to try. As I sat down to eat i noticed the restaurant was extremely clean and smelled fresh. It was so immaculate that I had to look up the business on google to find out when it was built. The food, which was 2pc signature chicken, was the best fried chicken I ever had. My only complaint was that the chickens were a bit small. I’ll definitely eat here again and will be recommending this place to family and friends. It’s the best Popeyes restaurant upstate NY.

Great food and friendly staff. Storefront is always clean and well kept. The food is always fresh and cooked well and they usually throw in a few extra biscuits so extra stars for that. Nice menu options with some of the old reliable chicken tendies for the kids or something exciting and new for the adults. (Also chicken tendies for the adults too!) Definitely much better than that other chicken guy in the area that's always a disappointment.

I don’t live in the area anymore but I used to love coming here after shopping. I usually saw the same gentleman in late morning/early afternoon and he was always so friendly and my food was always so perfect. I miss this location so much!

My girlfriend loves the chicken tenders here, especially with the blackened ranch. I wanted to try something different and asked the drive-thru person for recommendations. His name ended up being Marrell (I think) and he might have been the most helpful customer service person I’ve dealt with since before COVID happened. If he’s not a manager he deserves to be. If he is a manager then he deserves his own store. And if that Popeyes is his, then he deserves to be in charge of multiple-Popeyes. Because if he can teach his people skills to the rest of the staff you’re gonna be putting other restaurants out of business.

I like the fact that it was well wrapped and wasn't falling all over the place.

I like Popeyes - I know it's not the best fried chicken in the world, or the best food you can put in your body but still I like it and it's consistent. This place is brand spanking new super clean and they have gotten each one of my orders correct.

Ordered via DoorDash, and while it was a bit slow, was to be expected due to recently opening. Hiccups are to be expected! Prices were fine and the food was fantastic. The 6pc. Ghost Wing Combo with an additional strawberry biscuit was great. Can't wait to see how this place will settle in once the madness dies down

My husband and I went inside to eat today. We had a very nice experience. Although they seemed busy with the drive through, we were greeted relatively quickly and we're able to order. One worker quickly made our mango frozen lemonades (definitely recommend), while the other worker behind the counter asked for my receipt to make sure she wasn't missing anything. My husband loves the original chicken sandwich and it did not disappoint today. The meat was so juicy that it was dripping from the sandwich. They gave us plenty of napkins so he was fine. I ordered a 4 piece combo and every piece was perfect. The biscuit was extremely soft and paired perfectly with some grape jelly. We almost didn't come today because we saw (and read through) a few of the reviews. I am glad we didn't listen to them or we would have missed out on a very awesome meal. Please be kind to the people serving you.

Our chicken came out hot and fresh. We enjoyed our meals.

Sometimes they're missing items on the menu, and sometimes they don't have enough English speaking staff on hand to run the drive through, window and counter.

Great chicken and shrimp baskets. Prices are reasonable. Ample parking, it’s a large plaza. We mostly use the drive through window, a couple of times the order was messed up, usually it’s fine though.

My husband and I went to lunch...we ordered the six piece sweet and spicy wings which are my favorite and really hold some heat. We also ordered the ghost pepper wings which were not half as spicy hot as the sweet and spicy...not even close...but they were good...about a 4 while the sweet and spicy were a 10 on a scale of 10...we also had the original blackened chicken sandwich which I highly recommend...you can get it spicy also but I stayed with the original...enough heat already with the wings...my husband ordered a spicy chicken breast which was delicious but not at all spicy...the biscuit was great...finally, the fries are good but could be more crisp and a lot hotter temperature-wise...all in all it was a good lunch...we will always go back.

We had chicken and shrimp.. the price is small but so are the portions.. the chicken was almost see though with yummy bread crumbs on it! Not greasy at all.. much taster than KFC!

Was there at 8pm, was still pretty crowded but it’s expected since the place just opened, cashier was quick with the order, did take like 5-10 minutes to get my food but is understandable since there is people in the drive thru and people in the restaurant waiting for their food to be made. I got the Chicken Sandwich and Fries, The Chicken Sandwich was okay at best really didn’t taste anything at all. The fries were decent though, pretty crispy and seasoned well, didn’t come with sauce though. I’ll give this place another month or two when it cools down and see how it goes then.

This thought is meant to be a constructive criticism but not a deconstructive type. The person or persons who constituted this venture are to be commended and appreciated for introducing Popeyes to our immediate area. However, it was, I believe, the eighth of May, 2024 that I ordered a two piece dinner - spicy, leg and thigh; the former was not, at that time, available, so two thighs it was. To my chagrin the chicken looked like it was cooked very early in the morning because of its non- freshness, dark hue and stiffness. The soda was without flavor, and the biscuits had entirely too much salt on the top side. Regardless of all of this, I truly enjoyed the rice and beans. I will patronize your restaurant again with optimism and prayer for your success. The Psalmist makes this affirmation: The Lord will perfect that which concerns me: thy mercy, O Lord, endures for ever... ( Psalm 138:8)

The food was good. The girl working the drive-thru window wasn't very friendly and when I was given the wrong order they tried to ignore me until another team member came to assist and was much more friendly and made my order right.

Wappinger Falls new Popeyes. Chicken was bland and the fries were alright. Very busy and that's understandable. Tables and floor were a mess. Hope it gets better in the near future.

The food is great when they're not being rushed, but besides that, that's all.. the staff are awkward, barely communicate with you to make sure they're handing you the right order and I always have to ask if they gave me all my food and if I'm good to go/drive off, because they just stare at you after handing you your bag??

The food needs to be cooked better or by someone who knows how to cook. The manager there is nice. She goes out of her way to help

Took a long time to order and the wait for food was long. If you have 10 minutes to wait for your food, then go for it.

Looking at the comments, the owner says the same thing each time. I really don’t think they are really paying attention in regards to what their guests are saying. Step up to the plate owner and make more constructive comments to satisfy your guests!

Popeye is hit or miss 😆. The food is good but the amount you get can sometimes be off. Have had issues with pick up order being incorrect or not complete when app claims it is, and I got lied to about price of an item. That one really irritated me. If you're not sure of something be honest, don't freaking lie! And this was a supervisor!!

The drive thru line was long so I opted to eat inside. I recommend you park just as you get in the parking lot as it can be difficult to leave with the drive thru line blocking so many parking spaces. The place is new so I expected some hiccups with the service. The cashier/order taker was a bit slow, and struggled counting change. The cashier handed me the wrong receipt which I didn't realize until I heard someone yell my name after no one had responded to the order number that was called out. The food came out pretty quick though, only about a minute wait. The counter at the self serve drink area was a bit messy. Seems like no one's been assigned to maintain the dining area. The food was very good though. I had the two piece combo, dark meat, with a side of Mashed Potatoes. The food was served hot and fresh. The chicken was flavorful and juicy. The Mashed Potatoes were not dry and the Gravy was not salty. My only complaint was that the biscuit was a bit dense, and a little on the salty side. I was fortunate to beat the line when I ordered at 1pm. Seems like the restaurant got really busy after i had ordered. I speculate everyone had the same idea I had when I saw the long drive thru line. The menu prices are about average for what other fast food places are charging for a combo meal. My combo meal with a drink costed $11.88.

Food is pretty good, but they forgot a bunch of stuff from my pick-up order. The same thing happened about a month ago. I see from the reviews I’m not the only one having this problem. I’d rather take my money elsewhere.

We both ordered the number two, and while we agree the meat was flavorful, it was also tough as nails (not enjoyable). The French fries were good as well, but the coleslaw container was half full. The atmosphere was clean (it is brand new); location is convenient; service was excellent (although I got to say, I’d like to see greater diversity in their employees. I didn’t see a single white person working there...not cool). Prices are too high.

Every time I order from here they always forget the fries. I dont know what it is, if they just forget because there's so much going on; But its happened 3 times already. They need to double check to make sure they put all the food in the bag and actually pay attention.

First impression: I made the mistake of picking up my takeout order in the drive-thru and sat behind a single car for 10 minutes until his order was ready. You knew I was picking up, let him go park! Chicken was crispy but tasteless, dipping sauces were missing (but clearly listed on the receipt), biscuits don't come with butter or anything else, and the sides were average and small. And I can't believe I'm complaining about *napkins*, but they're very tiny, thin, and because they are Scotch-taped around the plastic fork, tear into shreds when trying to get them open. With all the other good dining choices available nearby, not worth it.

Maybe we just ordered the wrong things, but it just fell flat. Had the crazy hot wings, sauce was extremely hot, my doing, but the wings themselves weren't any better than other places. My wife had a chicken sandwich, it was okay. Service was very slow and the atmosphere is just a fast food joint.

Boooooooo. I ordered here through Uber Eats, and lemme just say, they definitely do NOT care about your takeout order 😭 Was missing a whole drink part of a combo, and the wings were plain (I ordered ghost chili wings) and the dipping sauce for the wings was also missing. Wings were good, sandwich was dry and just bad overall. Didn’t even eat it. My order was dropped off all discombobulated, horrible packaging. I’m sure it’d be a little better visiting in person but I didn’t. LOL. 3/10. Pls if you’re thinking about ordering from Uber Eats especially late night, don’t.

I’ve been there 5 times and each time the chicken is dry. The potatoes and gravy are delicious but not worth the high price and tiny portions . All the side dishes are tiny portions. Too expensive. Some need an attitude adjustment.

Is there anyone actively managing this place? I know this is a fast food restaurant, and you're expected to 'get what you pay for', but this has to be one of the weirdest managed teams of all time. Don't get me wrong, overall, the food was more than acceptable. Chicken sandwiches good, Cajun fries solid, and even the chocolate chip biscuit was fun, but everything else was so... off. We were not given our chocolate chip biscuit with the rest of our order and were asked if it was ok to wait for it, which we were. It never showed up. That said, they did mistakenly give us an apple pie for free. In fact, they didn't give us any utensils or napkins with our order either, which was odd unless we were supposed to eat mac and cheese with our hands. But on top of that, there are no utensils or napkins available to grab on your own. You'd think they'd get in the habit of at least providing SOME with an order, knowing full well that there aren't any in the dining area. When I went back to ask for utensils, napkins, and the chocolate chip biscuit that never showed up, I also mentioned how we never got our 2 regular biscuits thst came with our combos. Staff member said that they don't come with our combos, to which I replied, "It says in the menu that combos come with a biscuit." He then pointed out that combos 1, 2, 3, and 6 don't come with a biscuit... Why would the menu state that combos come with biscuits EXCEPT FOR MORE THAN HALF OF THE MENU? Just such a strange use of language and menu build. Then he accidentally gave me two chocolate chip biscuits instead of only 1 that I ordered. Additionally, the staff seemed to be all over the place. They all would rotate stations seemingly at random and leave open various tasks for no one to handle. Once, I observed a front of house person head to the bathroom, the cashier finish up with a customer, and then the cashier left the point of sale WITH NO ONE ELSE AROUND. The cashier just waited, next to the bathroom, around the corner, for the other guy to come back out. Who is responsible for training these people? And of course customers walked in and waited by the register while no one was there to take their orders. The icing on the cake is that the staff clearly don't want to be there. And, like, I get it. It's a fast food service job. No one was particularly rude to me or anything like that, but it's 100% evident that they don't care even a smidge about the job, customer, or their performance. Now look, all of this can be corrected. The food itself is fine. These people need better leadership and it certainly doesn't exist in the current form of this location.

Worst Popeyes ever!!! Didn’t mix up the frozen Mango, nor did they have honey for the biscuits. The girl at the window was incompetent and barely knew she worked there. Definitely Do Not recommend!!

Ordered 12 piece meal only received 9 pieces. Ordered 4 biscuits only received 2. Called when I got home and spoke to whoever in charge. They said that would never happen. 3rd incident with a Popeyes in the Hudson Valley.

Was doordashing had to go through the lobby, and red hair lady upfront said oh my god, because her crush was mopping a bit before they closed the lobby made me feel unwelcome when i had no choice, got stink eyed by another girl to in collaboration, some mean girl thing just trying pickup food

I went in after I told them no pickles I made it very clear at the drive thru. I go back in because they put pickles on and they make a new sandwich. I get home and they put MORE PICKLES like ??? Are you actually serious

Every time I have come here no matter how busy I’ve always waited atleast 20mins for my food, I am the only one here now and it’s been 20mins only one person cooking and this is every time I come here. It’s been like this since they opened.

45 minutes for wings on Friday night. The manager was hook up 2 women who were complaining about everything. making the line so slow and it took me 23 minutes before I got to the counter and only 3 order were taken in that time. Then another 22 minutes for my wings to come out.

Ordered a 3 piece and went back to work, only got 2 pieces. Receipt was for 3, I know accidents happen but miscounting 3 of something is ridiculous.

Update 30 June: Both myself and boyfriend have food poisoning from eating here last night. Updated as of tonight 29 July 24: My boyfriend and I went in and got 2 #2s and within an hour we were BOTH sick and have NOT stopped throwing up. Something has to be done about this place. People complain about other establishments, but this one is bottom of the barrel. Do NOT eat here EVER. Went through the drive thru and they were EXTREMELY rude, rushing and the worst talking over me. I work at a local fast food establishment and would never dare talk over a person. This night shift NEED'S to be retrained on basic etiquette and customer service. When we got to the window, the guy neglected to ask what the order was, let alone if it was correct. He just tossed it to me. When it came to the drink, forget about it, he just lightly tossed it and practically threw the straw and saw it with ni apologies. As a manager and customer, I'm speechless and more than irritated. Please make sure to train staff on basic customer service and etiquette. *Update: I ordered 6 piece's, was given 3 piece's and ordered 2 apple pie's of which I received 0.

If your not Latino or white they will ignore you have you wait for food or just outright get you bad service/food went with my friend who speaks Spanish and overheard them speaking very nasty about a black customer. Do not eat here! If I could give 0 stars I would!

Very disappointing and will never go again. Didn't get the chicken I asked for and was shorted 1 piece. Prices outrageous-$34. 8 pieces combo, (only legs & thighs please. Order came with 4 biscuits & fries only. I ordered an extra side of rice & beans. Order didnt come with drinks. Service is HORRIBLE! Beware if they tell you we’ll bring the food out to your car “can you pull around?” They will NEVER bring it out, sat in my car for 20-30 minutes, went inside and they said “OH YEAH, it’s right here” JUST SITTING THERE GETTING COLD. I’ve been in the restaurant business for 10+ years, and they need to clean up their management BIG TIME. It’s sad the way this world is going. If they can’t get fast food right, imagine how the rest of the world will end up.

Craving wings today, I placed a mobile order at 4:53 PM and arrived at the drive-thru around 5:28 PM to pick it up. Unfortunately, my order wasn’t ready. Initially, I was told it wasn’t ready yet, then informed they had run out of wings. After waiting an extra 10 minutes, I watched others who arrived after me receive their orders first. Ridiculous.

This has to be one of the worst popeyes I've been to. Ordered two chicken sandwiches, one for myself and one for my wife. Unfortunately, both were absurdly greasy, fries were cold, and the orange fanta had absolutely zero syrup.

They have been opened close to a month now and they should be trained already on service. Waited inside for 20 minutes for a sandwich. Drive thru even worse. They need to take notice how Chick-fil-A does it. Once and done for this location. Definitely not Poughkeepsie. That place is a dump.

And said something in Spanish. But Antonio specifically was very rude to me and my son. Would come back if the staff was replaced!

They never have spicy chicken. I order spicy in the app twice got to the store and was told they only have regular. I will order from them again let along go there.

Why can't you provide a side of gravy?. Really..I will gladly pay for it. This weekend, I ordered, 2 meals, one with 2 extra sides of gravy. I received 2 sides of mashed potatoes with gravy instead.Some people like gravy on the chicken. I was given regular fried chicken instead of the spicy that I ordered... I've tried numerous times to be very specific, to no avail....and fill your coleslaw containers more. Cabbage is cheap. You can spare it. Management please read this and fix it. I was so happy to see a popeyes open up here..but this one is lacking..

The chicken tenders were pretty much fried pasta. Skinny, long, dry, bland. Pretty disappointing food overall. The wings are pretty spicy as compared to the spice chart. Gravy just tastes of chicken bouillon. Also got food to go on my lunch break, sat down to eat and had no spoon for my potatoes. Biscuit was dry as well. Overall very unsatisfied. Definitely will not be coming back. Also the food is over priced in my opinion

I ordered a 4 piece signature combo chicken-classic. And the chicken did not come out that way. It came out all spicy. So I called up a few days later to try to get a refund. And the manager told me that she would not give me a refund unless I had I proof that I brought the food from there. And I’m seriously not not lying 1 bit about this. I did to buy the chicken from there.

Love Popeyes but will never go to this location again. I’m also debating ever giving this brand business again. I placed an order in the app. Showed up to pick up the order and a NOTE on the door said they were closed for the night. The person still there couldn’t refund my money and corporate won’t give me my money back for 10 business days. Money is tight these days and I still need to figure out dinner. The best part is the “manager” knew my name from the order when they appeared at the door. They couldn’t even CALL me to let me know when I placed the order an hour in advance. To hell with this place.

Talk about unfriendly staff that dirty very dirty restaurant waited 10 mins before placing my order which ne was rude unfriendly and didnt speak never said had no sauce for fried pickles out fries were ice cold my chicken sandwich was raw half cooked I ordered another one the guy I wish I knew his name was rude and I waited 30 mins for 2nd sandwich which was sitting on the side of the drive through window so once again an ice cold chicken sandwich. The other issue is not one spoke English so not a hello how can I help u nothing just a cold look like we were supposed to know to order he just stood there! The amout of chicken and fries that were sitting out was disgusting and eveyone was grtting cold food! I will never go back NEVER!!! we all got sick last.night from the food dont eat there!!

Short heavy set girl dark hair at around 8 pm Tuesday was so rude I asks for my order that I seen sitting there politely after waiting for 5 min for someone to acknowledge I was there every one walking by without asking if I need help so I figured I needed to ask for help and she had the never to say with a attitude give me a min. I wanted to say lady I gave u 5 min without any help so another lady finally handed me the bag that was ready! Do better!

This location depending on who is working shows preferential treatment to certain customers. They never have the items of the menu, they overcharge when they order is a combo they try to charge non speaking Spanish people individually for the items when it’s supposed to be a combo. I sent my Spanish speaking fiancé inside and she was able to get every item I asked for through the drive thru that they said wasn’t available. They are prejudice and if you aren’t Spanish or Spanish speaking? They give you bad service. This location is prejudice.

I didn’t wanna do this, but this took me months to do.. months ago, they never had spicy chicken because they said it’s not sold there often and the chicken goes to waste when they make spicy chicken, so we need to call 20 minutes ahead of time to order spicy Chicken. Now they finally have spicy chicken without you having to call 20 minutes prior. However, for a couple months now asking for a ghost pepper wings, they fry regular wings and put the ghost pepper seasoning on the outside of the wings. The powder gets everywhere.. this Popeyes is so different all the other Popeyes you ask for ghost pepper wings the season is inside the batter. Why can’t this Popeyes be like the other Popeyes and do what they’re supposed to do this is not customer service if they didn’t want to have Popeye food call it something else don’t even name the company Popeyes.

This location is racist I’ve watched the server tell a black couple that they didn’t have any shrimp or chicken but served the Spanish family the same items the black couple requested as well as myself. If you are black don’t give this location your business. Today is my last day ever ordering from here I am absolutely disgusted by what I witnessed.

came here a few months. the chicken was room temp and gross, the biscuit was hard and inedible, the bbq sauce was expired and caused me to gag and spit out the food. terrible terrible experience.

Staff always seems miserable and upset your interrupting them hanging out to make them work Food constantly coming out lukewarm or undercooked with insane wait times (nearly 40 minutes wait for two basic sandwich meals at drive thru with absolutely no other customers there and came out cold) Sides being given are not even a quarter full (last fry I got had about 7 fries in it) (coleslaw, Mac n Cheese, Rice and beans bowls all not even half full) Had three different people get food poisoning two separate times from eating here Is there any management at all? Insanely high and inconsistent pricing on top of all of this The chicken tastes great so I keep trying to give it another chance but after now getting food poisoning myself I'm done Won't be back until I see a "Under New Management" sign and alot of things change

First time ever trying Popeyes and horrible! Rather go to kfc bc the chicken barely had meat and the sides were cold and felt like it was a day old. The service was quick lol that’s about it
