Flores Tapas Bar Wappingers Falls Reviews
What a nice surprise. The food was very good and the service was excellent. They decorated fur Christmas which was fun and had a good vibe. Head chef Christopher came out and asked us about the food and asked us if we needed anything . The menu is different from online because it is under new management. My tacos were tasty and my wife’s burger with Brie was unbelievable. Fun drink options and overall the food prices were reasonable. The spinach dip was fantastic just needed more bread. The desserts included the churros and the hazelnut tart. Great presentation.
My husband had been searching for a new place to dine for Valentine’s Day…we had just finished spending a day at the galleria when we drove past Flores Tapas and his interest was immediately piqued. I took a look at the website and noticed they had a Valentine’s Day menu which caught my attention so we decided to make our reservation. The staff was so incredibly friendly and that Valentine’s Day menu needs to be a permanent sweetheart menu because what an impression it made!! The smaller portions of food are to be expected as well…after all, tapas is Spanish for snack or appetizer if you will, and having had weight loss surgery, my husband and I can appreciate a humble portion. This will not be our last visit! You absolutely MUST dine here!!
Awesome experience! I will definitely be back! I had 4 tapas orders: chorizo in wine; muscles and chorizo, meat and cheese board and espinacas. All amazing!!! For my main I ordeed carne guisada. And it also was worth coming back for!!! This was beyond good. The temperatures, prep and display were all picture worthy! The taste, again, fantastic! Zero complaints!! And that is rare! My dessert was the tres leches. Perfect!! Our server and host was Kim and she was on it!! Helpful, nice and very personable! Awesome! My new favorite Mexican food joint for sure!!!! My Yelp host Marietta put together this amazing event! Thanks for her hard work too!! Great event!!!
Edit 4/12/24: **much better experience** We gave the restaurant another chance. They out performed in their service and food. They've changed the menu so there are new options. I had the ribs which were done to perfection! The covid barriers are now down and the appearance of the restaurant is much nicer. It's very nicely decorated! We recommned going and trying them out! They have live music on some nights, so that always draws a good crowd, We Sadly this seems like a restaurant on its way out. Friday night only four tables were seated when we were there. Waitress was never to be found. She was more than neglectful. She was rarely in the room. She didn’t like she knew how to serve. We had to ask for everything. We had to go to the bar to get our drinks. The bartender waited on us and apologized. He was very nice. He even took our food order because she was still missing - remember there were only four tables. 3/22/24 It’s no longer a tapas restaurant. However we enjoyed everything we ate. They have nice tables and beautifully decorated. It was obviously somebody’s dream - which made it sad to see it empty during dining hours. Please take down the Covid barriers. They detracted from the dining experience.
Wow! Completely blown away by this place. Everything was delicious. For cocktails had the purple drank and bullets & bees. Very good and Instagramable drinks. For tapas had the Brussel sprouts, octopus with purple potatoes, jamon croquettes, and their St. Patrick’s Day Cornbeef empanadas special. The seafood paella was so fresh. And ended with churros and homemade peanut butter cup ice cream. Very happy and full belly! Plus the staff is super nice!
Everything I had was delicious, this is a 5 star nyc restaurant in upstate ny. The cheese meat board the paella the flan were superb, I was shockingly pleasantly surprised, did not expect that and I will be back. Go try it out, you won’t be disappointed.
We went here with our 14 year-old and 10 year-old and we all had a wonderful time! The restaurant is beautiful and comfortable. The staff are very knowledgeable and friendly. Our 10 year-old is a picky eater and they were happy to adjust a dish for him. The food though!!!! It’s incredible!!!! From the Tapas we had the Tostones (which our picky eater loved!), the Mussels & Chorizo (which our 14 year-old loved so much that we got a second serving of it!), and the Espinacas (which my husband and I devoured!) For our Main dishes we had Churrasco con Chimichurri (which was so perfectly cooked and melt in the mouth), Seafood Paella (which was so delicious I stopped eating long after I was full), and Chicken & Chorizo Paella (which they made without the Chorizo for our picky eater). Finally we finished with a little dessert! Churros with Nutella (MELT IN THE MOUTH HEAVEN), and Tres Leches ( light, airy, and creamy). We also tried some of their cocktails: Llama Drama (the tartness of the grapefruit with the sweetness of the liqueur - so yummy!), Spanish Rose (has an awesome kick from the jalapeño which my husband loved), and the Flores Martini (a twist on the traditional martini). They were delicious and had a good kick - nothing watered down here! Everything was SO DELICIOUS!! We were already making plans to come back before we had even finished the meal!!
The food here was phenomenal. Casual dining with shareable plates and an interesting mix of specialty cocktails. It's one of the only places in the area that has Ibèrico ham. Everything here is amazing, from atmosphere, to presentation to taste.
First time at Flores Tapas Bar and it won't be our last! My beautiful wife and I love tapas and we were not disappointed. Everything that we had was delicious. The restaurant has elegant and inventive drinks (we shared four). The tapas menu included many of the plates that you would expect and we're not just delicious but actually a good size (keeping in mind that tapas plates are supposed to be small bites). Our server James made an unplanned date night even better. He was courteous, knowledgeable and attentive. Kim the manager also made sure that everything was good.
I have gone for dinner and brunch. I’m very impressed overall by this place, the Gambas (shrimp) were excellent. The beef brisket empanadas, spicy excellent! The chicken croquettes, excellent! The staff is super friendly. I’m really looking forward to going back again.
The food was deliciously authentic and James gave us wonderful recommendations. We can’t wait to return!
Can't say enough good things. Killer staff, great ambiance and decor. Wishing you guys significant success in 2021 and onward. Much from the the folks at Fuchsia Tiki Bar, Anton & Lisa

Took a chance and tried a new place to meet a friend for a late lunch. We completely overdid it (that is why it cost so much) but it was totally worth it! There is a holiday drink menu featuring festive cocktails that were delicious! We ordered the chef's choice tapas tasting dish and each item that arrived was outstanding. It was so hard to choose - the menu really does have something for everyone. The service was also wonderful - not too fast, not too slow, just perfect. I will definitely be back!
We loved our meal; especially the bacon wrapped dates, shrimp and octopus. Our cocktails were delish, too, and it was decorated so lovely for the holiday season. Bri was a perfect waitress; so friendly and helpful. We cant wait to come back!
Went for restaurant week and was not disappointed. We went knowing that we may not get full servings as that’s the point of restaurant week is to try new restaurants at a discount. But my god it was insane the portion sizes. We got the cheese and meat board and it was amazing. I got the steak as a entree and it was perfectly cooked. But the best part of the meal was the churros. I can say they were the best I have ever had. So light and fluffy. We will be going back for sure. Well worth the money.

From the service to food to ambience, everything was excellent. We have been here numerous times and always a great experience. James is such a great server, so attentive and makes each visit awesome! Tonight had live music which was a great addition to our Friday night meal. Definitely recommend for a group night out, date night or a just because dinner!
We rarely are able to have a date night alone without our son, so we came here last month after having to cancel our previous reservation. It was overall a great experience. At first we were a bit apprehensive about the seating because as a party of two, we were seated at a 4-top table in the middle of the restaurant separated by a clear plastic divider (Not apprehensive due to Covid, just apprehensive due to privacy and not wanting to sit directly next to strangers). However, our concern was alleviated as the reservations were well staggered so we primarily had the table to ourselves after the couple seated on the other side of the divider left shortly after we arrived. Towards the end of our visit, the booths on the outer walls filled up completely, clearly showing the popularity of the restaurant. Our server was very attentive, I believe his name was James and he was very accommodating and personable. He answered all of our questions. It was a little harder to get his attention when I needed a second drink and when we wanted dessert as the restaurant had filled up by then (another server actually came over and got us our 2nd round of drinks). We’d heard good things but never tried it, so we ordered the Jamon Iberico. It was melt in your mouth delicious, very tender and nutty. I probably would not order it again but was definitely excited to try it. We ordered a bunch more small plates (Jamon croquetas, brisket empanadas, shishitos, tuna ceviche, and churros with ice cream). Empanadas were fantastic, and I enjoyed the croquetas although I did not realize I could get some with chicken and some with ham. The shishitos were nicely seasoned and charred. By far, the tuna ceviche was my favorite as it was incredibly light and flavorful and fragrant with citrus. The churros were delicious as well and overall, the food was really good. I had the Smugglers run and Spanish rose cocktails. Both were well made and quite delicious. Overall, it was a great experience and we would definitely return. There was a group there who did have a child with them, but I definitely would not bring my 4 1/2 year-old.

My husband and I stopped there for lunch. We really liked the setup and the service. We like trying new restaurants and were excited to see what Flores Tapas had to offer. We started with the meat and cheese board appetizer. We were surprised to see how little cheese and meat there was, but I guess it was a lunch appetizer. We each had a slice or two of cheese and meat and waited for the meal. The food, what little of it there was, was tasty. Although my hubby thought his beef tacos needed both salt and spice, the steaks were properly cooked. I had the strawberry, goat cheese salad. There was plenty of spinach, a few strawberries, very little goat cheese, and candied pecans. The dressing was a ‘light’ balsamic. The service was great! As I said earlier, I liked the décor, but the food portion is small (especially for the price). Would I go there again? Maybe. If we do, we’ll try the dinner menu. Hopefully, the dinner portions are larger.
Food was pretty good. Had a wide variety of items: ceviche, shrimp, potatoes, octopus, etc and all were very tasty. Servers were super nice, but the service was really slow. They didn't seem short-staffed (which I totally get is a problem these days!) at the front of house and the food came out quickly, so I am guessing the problem wasn't the kitchen either. Took an exorbitantly long time to get drinks - our food came out before our first round. Slowness seemed to be at the bar, but I did notice they had enough time to pour and deliver shots for the kitchen staff. Beautiful decor. Might pop back in next time I am visiting my family in the area. Worth a go - just don't be in a rush!

I was so excited to head to Flores Tapas because I absolutley adore the idea of dozens of plates of different foods in front of me. The restasurant was super empty on a Sunday night so I was a little nervous however my husband and I decided to go all in. We started off with the brisket empanadas-sooooo good! Not oily and just perfect. Meat was so moist and empanada was crispy. Next we tried the chicken croquette- another superb dish. The chicken croquette was a good size and literally melted in your mouth!!! Now I was getting excited!! We had ordered a seafood and chorizo paella and based on what I just ate I was even more hopeful that they would deliver something awesome!!! BOY!! Was I wrong!!! A good seafood and chorizo paella is colorful and enticing while being aromatic and flavorful. It truly is a beautiful and delicious dish---when done right!!!!! I can't even begin. To describe what was brought out. It was just all black. Not appealing at all!! It was soo salty and we really didnt know what we were eating!!. TALK ABOUT DISAPPOINTMENT! The waitress was great! She noticed we werent eating and asked if we liked it- the dish was $42.00 and I told her no, unfortunately I didnt. I was swallowing whatever this mush was just cause I didnt want to be THAT person however because I was spending so much money I got irritated in the moment. She removed the paella and asked if there was something else we would like and I said yes!!! The empanadas and croquettes were soo good could we just have another order of those... as well as the tuna ceviche!! The food came out pretty quickly and definitely not like the first round we had- empanadas were super greasy, chicken croquettes were sooooo tiny it was just embarrasing and the tuna ceviche had no life nor did it feel like it was created with love!! Guess that's what I get for sending back a paella!!! I love supporting restaurants and dont mind spending money if the food is delicious and consistent each time I visit. This was a disappointment on so many levels! I wont be back. YAYA Was a great waitress by the way!

Do not go here. My party was denied service and asked to leave for having a service dog at the Flores Taqueria location in Poughkeepsie. Even after informing them that denying us service was against the ADA, they told us it was not their decision but the owner’s order. They then added that the restaurant was in a city building- as if this would excuse them blatant breaking the law. I told them that was illegal. (The dog in question was completely calm, quiet, and in obedient, as such a trained animal should be. Thus not giving cause for dismissal.) “You can sit outside”, we were told. It was 40+ degrees, overcast, and by the water. Stunned and disgusted, we asked for the owner’s name and took our business elsewhere. Please keep this in mind when you decide where to dine and spend your hard earned money. They are disgusting ableist with no regard for the law nor concern for the special - legally protected!! - needs of their patrons.
