Pama Thai Washington Reviews
Best thai food ever. The pork belly ka prao is heavenly
We love this restaurant. Service is wonderful and food is super yummy.
The pineapple fried rice is amazing with a nice presentation, served in half of a pineapple. The drunken noodles are the best I've had. Thank you Pama Thai!
Great delicious food. Nice decor. Love it. Too bad it's so far from my home
Delicious food! I got the Green Curry, Pineapple Friend rice, and Chicken Pad Thai.
I ordered takeout for my family on the way home from my son's soccer game. We got home and realized there was no rice for the three curry dishes. I called the restaurant, and they apologized and then drove half an hour in a thunderstorm to deliver the rice to us. The food was amazing, and the service was perfection. We will be repeat customers!!
We dine here relatively frequently. Plenty of tasty vegan options. Service is good, performed by friendly staff. They play some music, but not too loud. And you can even charge your EV for free (within a few minutes' walk)! What else does one have to ask for? :D
Pama Thai - Authentic Thai Cuisine with a Touch of Elegance Review: Dining at Pama Thai was a wonderful experience that truly transported me to Thailand. The peaceful ambiance and intricate decor, including the beautifully carved Buddha statue, created an atmosphere of calm and relaxation. The service was impeccable—the waitress was extremely polite, attentive, and made us feel welcome and comfortable throughout the meal. Now, let’s talk about the food—absolutely delicious and full of authentic flavors. I ordered the Drunken Noodles, and they were perfectly prepared. The noodles were soft yet chewy, with a rich savory sauce that had just the right balance of spice and sweetness. The mix of chicken, shrimp, and fresh vegetables was cooked to perfection, adding layers of flavor and texture to the dish. For dessert, I tried the mango with coconut ice cream—a refreshing and delightful treat. The sweet mango paired with the smooth, creamy ice cream was the perfect way to end the meal. Pama Thai offers an authentic Thai experience with excellent food, polite service, and a serene ambiance. Whether you’re craving flavorful noodles or a sweet tropical dessert, this place delivers on all levels. I highly recommend it for anyone looking to enjoy a taste of Thailand close to home!
Had a fantastic dine in experience! Great, quick service (wasn’t busy). Lovely drinks and apps. Perfect portions - not too much not too little. Pama Pad Thai was a very enjoyable and creative take on a “traditional” Pad Thai that I had a lot of fun eating. Spicy basil fried rice was perfect! Can’t wait to go back. Super affordable and some very nice music honestly!
Hidden gem of a Thai restaurant near by the Potomac area. Their unique Mongo curry with tofu for vegetarian dish is authentic. The drunken noodles with tofu is also very good taste. The portion is pretty good size in that area. Their Chive dumplings is tasty that we ordered second one. The only argument is they only offer 3 Chive dumplings per dish that kind of litte small portion. Their service is very kind and friendly. They always smile to customers. I will go back to this restaurant next time.
I loved the experience. Nice place with interesting decore. Gold flatware (not simply silver). Beautiful art through out (Take lots of selfies). Even the tray to place your payment in is a work of art. I ordered and Americano to drink, steamed dumplings, and Panang Curie. My bill came out to about $30. The food was great and the staff were friendly and attentive. I am not a fan of the music choice, but it didn't bother me. I think the music was easy listening Jazz. Heavy on the piano and saxophone. I didn't think it fit the Asian atmosphere, but it wasn't overwhelming. If you like your food SPICY 🔥 let them know know to spice it up for you.
The food was delightful enough but the service by the lady was really disappointing, straight face, not even a smile while serving, my mom asked for another box to go she did not even respond (although she did get the box). The guy server on the other hand was very polite and attentive. Customer service makes a huuuge impact to me or for anyone for that matter. If you are able to sit at the table at the back talk to a friend and smile and laugh then you should be able to do the same as common courtesy with your customers as well. Again, though the food was good I may not repeat (even though the place is 10mins away from me) just because of the lack of customer service
During my recent visit this restaurant, I observed several aspects of the service and food quality that are worth noting. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a server who seemed somewhat disengaged and did not provide basic information about our dining experience, such as mentioning that our server would be with us shortly. A gentleman eventually took our drink and appetizer orders, which were fulfilled promptly. For our main courses, I ordered Pad See Ew, while my husband opted for Pad Thai. Notably, I requested two pieces of broccoli, and my husband requested no spice in his dish. One concern I had was with the texture of the rice noodles in my Pad See Ew; they were over a half-inch thick, which was surprising and made the dish less enjoyable. After finishing our meal, we paid and left without receiving any follow-up questions about our dining experience or well wishes, such as “have a nice evening.” Overall, the lack of attentiveness and courtesy from the staff, along with the food presentation, contributed to an unsatisfactory experience. A bit of kindness and attention to detail can significantly enhance customer satisfaction, and based on this experience, I’m unlikely to return to this establishment.
Beware. There is a 20% service charge that cannot be changed. There is also a gratuity line SEPARATE from the mandatory service charge. Best dish of the 10 we tried was crab Rangoon. Excellent. Second best dish was the whole fried flounder. Delicious. The chili garlic sauce, however, was insipid. I suspect the clientele wants Thai food without spice. Several times during the ordering process, we were asked if we wanted the food not spicy. We said "bring it like it comes" - given there are 🌶️ on the menu to indicate spiciness. The result was that food that would be spicy at other Thai places was barely spicy - drunken noodles, chili garlic sauce, etc. Combine the so-so food with the sneaky service charge, and you have a recipe to not return.
The atmosphere is pretty good. The staffs here is very helpful. Fried calamari is very delicious and I enjoyed the sauce that came with it. Massaman curry is okay. I wish the potatoes and the carrots were cook better. It will be a lot better if they cut them to smaller pieces so the curry could get the flavor into the potatoes and carrots.
Newly opened in Park Potomac. It's next to Harris Teeter. I called in for takeout. Was ready when we got there! Staff greeted quickly and were nice. Interior is nice and spacious. Simple decor but comfy. Got the crispy salmon roll because the pictures of the appetizer on their Instagram looked great. Ours needed some more time in the fryer. It also was mostly rice with a hint of salmon. I'd skip this one. Our red curry was with tofu. Has mild heat, but very heavy handed with the sweetness. It was ok. I would get green curry instead next time. Mango sticky rice was good. The coconut ice cream could do with a bit more coconut flavor and some toasted coconut. I hope they do well in Park Potomac! It'll be awhile before I stop by again though.
Inattentive staff, mediocre food, would recommend at this price point just go to thairock
ORDER NEVER ARRIVED. Called the restaurant who said they never recived it, even though we have a confirmation of restaurant recepit via email, and a delivery person showed up there to pick it up! Only refunded our credit card after threatening further legal. action. Mistakes happen, but Brian at Pama Thai took NO responsibility whatsoever and entirely blamed Menufy. By then it was 10:00 at night! This restaurant should not be doing online business. They are not reliable nor accountable to their patrons. MoCo has plenty of other restarurants.
