Oaxaca Weatherford Reviews
Staff is super nice. Food and drinks are just fantastic. Very nice place but comfortable to take little ones too.
Our server, Audrey, went above and beyond, accommodating every request with a smile. They ensured we had everything we needed and made the lunch special!
We love this place, food is always fresh, the orders come out very fast and is delicious! We love Audrey, she is always awesome, very attentive and friendly, one of are favorites!
We will definitely be back! The service was fast and the food was hot! We were greeted upon entry and our server made sure we were well taken care of.
Had a great meal at Oaxaca Mexican Cuisine! The food was fresh and flavorful, and Heily provided excellent service—friendly, attentive, and welcoming. Highly recommend!
We have been coming to this restaurant for years. If you’re in the area and looking for great service, make sure you ask for Audrey. She’s very attentive and provides excellent service.
Great food and a fun atmosphere, we dodged a thunderstorm here and ate at the bar, the bartenders were very nice and creative.
The food was fantastic and the whole experience was so nice. My server, Heily, was especially amazing and was at our table every time we needed her.
Great, quick service, fantastic food, and perfect margarita. I’ve eaten here twice in the last 6 months after flowering a wedding nearby. Both times I was impressed by the friendly service and how quick the kitchen fulfilled our orders. The beef fajitas are some of the best I’ve ever had. I get beef fajitas at every Mexican restaurant I go to. As a 28 year old from DFW, that’s a lot of beef fajitas. They are the most tender beef fajitas I’ve ever had. The house margarita made with real lime juice. I mean….hard to beat. If Weatherford weren’t so far away from Dallas I’d be eating here more than my bank account would like!
Best place in town for Mexican food. Consistent in quality and service. Quick lunch spot.
Loved my experience at Oaxaca Mexican Cuisine. Delicious food, warm atmosphere, and Heily was amazing—she made everything smooth and enjoyable.
Man the food here is delish! The mole is different. Very cinnamon heavy and sweet, bur the rest of the food was amazing. Definitely reccomend
The food is great. Very tasty and fresh. The service in excellent. Hailey was very smiley and kind.
The food is always delicious, but what really makes the experience amazing is the service. Heily is hands-down the best server — she always goes above and beyond, gives the absolute best service, and makes every visit feel special. She’s definitely my favorite!
What a wonderful place made even better by one of the best servers I've ever had; Marcus. The ambiance was fabulous. The food incredible and everything was made better by the incredible service. I'll be back and I'll speak of it often and I wish there was one by my house.
Came in today and had the best bartender she was so attentive and there for us the whole way Our first time in was above and beyond. Greeted by an attentive manger, we spoke with him for a while I believe his name was Alex. Audrey made our whole experience great, we can’t wait to come back
Definitely an amazing place to eat! And Audrey makes the best drinks in town! She always has a bright smiling face when I walk in and it’s very inviting!
I come often for lunch. Audrey always makes me feel special and welcoming. The food is great and drinks too! I appreciate everyone treating me like family. It means allot to me. Thank you guys!
OMG!!! The dish we ordered was excellent. It serves two people, and it was so much food that we got to take about half of it with us. Meat was so tender that we were able to cut it with our forks. We will definitely go back and will recommend it to our friends. On a second visit, I tried the green enchiladas. Sadly, I was not impressed and will probably not order again.
Audrey & Alex make each visit feel so personal! Always greeted with a smile and kind words! The food is AMAZING & always consistent! The staff truly goes above and beyond!
The Mexican food was delicious. The fajita and homemade tortillas were authentic. Our server Heily was so kind and attentive. 10/10 experience. Will be coming back soon.
Good food. More than ample servings. Friendly attentive service. Highly recommend.
I found the food to be plentiful and delicious. I had the chicken fajitas but was surprised to find only three small tortillas with an abundance of fillings.
I very rarely give full marks like this but I have to say im extremely impressed with this restaurant. The food was excellent, the service was excellent and the atmosphere was very impressive. They had a Mexican band playing inside and it was very relaxing. The wait wasn't very long and everyone was very friendly and attentive. Great job Oaxaca. I will definitely be returning and if anyone is looking for a high quality Mexican restaurant then this is definitely the place to be.
Went for Sunday lunch it was busy but we were seated right away and had great service throughout our visit. I shared different tacos with the people I was with the pork belly (the one on the blue corn torilla) was spectacular, carnitas was good and juicy, shrimp taco was underwhelming and needed some more elements to it although the spicy mayo was great. Beans and rice needed more seasoning. Would definitely go back, this place deserves more stars⭐️than it has!
Great place to get some tasty Mexican food. Their menu is bigger than their venue. Great food and drinks with good-sized portions. Excellent and friendly service. It was my first time to this restaurant for a realtor networking luncheon, and we were well taken care of. We had a group of about 30 and the service was still excellent. We very much enjoy this place all around and will continue to come back. This Mexican cuisine is right off the 20 fwy. frontage road within a short distance of the Walmart Supercenter, Home Depot, Discount Tire, and Academy Sports + Outdoors. If you're looking for something a bit more upscale, this is the place.
We have been to Oaxaca many times but it has been awhile. The food was as good as we remember but the biggest thing was our lovely waitress. Heily treated us like we were part of her family. She made an entree recommendation to my wife that turned out fantastic. I can't say enough about Heily. Oaxaca is good but with wait staff like her, it makes it excellent.
Audry makes us feel welcome. She is by far the best employee, bartender and server. Extremely knowledgeable and always has great suggestions on food and beverages. We never have to ask for for anything. We’ve had other servers there but after having Audrey wait on us, we make sure that we ask for her every time, we used to be occasional diners now we come in weekly. We love her and this place.
This will always be my go to favorite place. It’s nice to walk in and see the familiar faces of the staff. The salsa and the green salsa is AMAZING. The food is delicious and The guacamole is so divine. Yummy. If you are wanting great food with welcoming staff this is the place!!!!!!!!!!
Wow!!! Where do I even start? This place is fantastic! Let me start out by saying we went at dinner time and as soon as the door opened we were greeted immediately. The staff was all amazing and very friendly. Our waitress was the best and helped us all pick amazing dishes. I had the brisket fluffy tacos and let me tell you there was so much flavor and fresh ingredients. The salsa and chips are so good we almost got full before our food came out. My family will definitely be back and look forward to trying something new next time.
The BEST infused margaritas in Weatherford! Hubby and I frequent here for lunch and margs. The queso blanco with brisket or hamburger meat is SOOOOOOOOO good too! I am probably the only Texan who doesn’t LOVE Mexican food 🤣but I’ll eat here anytime!!!
Nice place… and those Brisket Flauntas!!!!!!!!!!!! Did they fly them in from Mexico??? Served just like you get in El Paso!!! Heaven in the mouth! And the Mezcal Margarita is okay… go with house, especially during Happy Hour.
4/20/25 Update My wife and I have been dining at Oaxaca for several years. About three years ago, we had the pleasure of being served by Juan, and his service has been consistently outstanding ever since. From only a few visits, Juan remembered our names, our water selections, our usual drink orders, and other specific dining preferences. He also remembered our preferred payment method. This level of personalized attention makes every visit a joy, and we always look forward to being in his section. I have shared my compliments about Juan with several managers previously, as he truly exemplifies excellent service. In addition to the exceptional service, we have always found the food to be prompt, flavorful, and delicious. The table-side guacamole, brisket tacos, and camarones (shrimp) are only a few examples of the fantastic food. All are outstanding and this is only the tip of the iceberg.
I have been to Oaxaca several times and they never disappoint. For starters the chips and salsa are really good. The salsa has a little spicy kick to them but it's very flavorful and not too hot. I always order Tortillas to help soak up the burn and even though they aren't made in the restaurant fresh, they still taste really good. The frozen strawberry margaritas 🍹😋 are SO good. The Ranchero Enchiladas were pretty tasty as well. Service is always great and super friendly staff. We were the last to leave one night and had several shots with the bar crew and owner. Great quality food with excellent service.
Very enjoyable. Brunch menu is Great. They are known for blue tortillas and taco shells. So if you have trouble with that aspect, may want to chose another restaurant. Food and service was 5 star.
I want to share my wonderful experience at your restaurant. From the moment I walked in, I was impressed by the incredible service. The staff was not only super friendly and welcoming but also incredibly attentive to every detail. A special thank you to Hailey for her kindness. She made sure all my requests were met promptly and with a smile. And the food... wow! Every dish I was served was absolutely exquisite. It was evident that a lot of care and passion went into the preparation. Everything was delicious and perfectly prepared. I really had a fantastic time and can't wait to come back.
The service and atmosphere here is awesome. Everyone is so friendly and take good care of you. The salsa is some of the best we've had, chips are fresh and warm. The food was fresh and hot. The portions are great, not to much not to little. They make the guacamole at your table fresh and the taste is beyond compair. The deserts are to die for. Stop in and have a wonderful meal and service that is above and beyond.
This place is amazing! Authentic flavors than your typical tex-mex. Atmosphere is great. Tvs in bar area for those that want to watch. From rodeos to sports.... Staff is extremely friendly and attentive. That kitchen is an oiled machine that produces dishes in lightning speed and its fresh and hot! Love it. Great date night place!!!
This is my sister's favorite place to eat in Weatherford and I finally got to try it... The service was outstanding... Food came out fast and hot! The charro beans are delicious and so was the rice .. . I found the queso blanco boring no flavor at all but the chips and salsa were very good 😊 I had the cowboy enchiladas and did not like the brown chili sauce AT ALL.... I will definitely try something different next time my sister swears they have "THE BEST MARGARITA" in Texas!!
I broke down outside of Oaxaca and the owner came out to ask me if everything was alright. He pulled me into a parking spot and offered me free food and drink while I waited for my tow. The food was immaculate and the beer was cold. Great business and a great owner
Service was on point! Food was so good! Great experience. Was it a little overpriced? Possibly. The service made up for that tho. The green salsa was my favorite. Me and mom shared Molcajete for one and it was more than enough. Highly recommend! Jalapeño pineapple margarita was $12 but stout.
Delicious food, nice ambiance and good service. There was a short wait as we went on Friday night. We'll be back! Update: We've been here twice now and it was just as good the second time. This time was a Thursday dinner visit. I had brisket enchiladas with red pepper sauce and they were excellent. I didn't want beans and it was easy to sub for a side of veggies. You can get entrees under $20 but there are also a lot around $22 so expect to pay more than $30 for a couple of entrees. They do have coupons ($10 off a purchase of $40) in mailers and the local magazines.
This review summarizes multiple visits here. The food has been outstanding every visit. The various mole enchiladas are the favorite among our family - they are outstanding. We also love the table side guacamole. The skinny margarita is a delight with fresh lime juice. Service has been up and down. We’ve had some inexperienced servers or ones that are too busy. But they do try hard. The ambience can be good or bad depending on where you are seated and your preferences. It can be loud - they sometimes have live music or music through speakers that is louder than it needs to be. We have asked to be moved and it was much better. Overall we love this place for the great food even though the service can be inconsistent. If it’s too loud, we speak up and they do try to correct it.
From the walk-in to the walkout, it was an experience to remember. Fine dine for sure with a tasty cuisine. We tried an appetizer sampler, entrees were shrimp and salmon enchiladas and tacos, and we had the desert Togo. Amazing, full of flavor, and cooked perfectly to taste. The most important part of the experience was the server " Junior." Ask him his real name: "Roll of the "R" was too much for me to say. He made our experience perfect and memorable. Definitely will be back. Thank you Oaxaca for the pleasurable evening.
Our server Juan was awesome, he went over and above with our service. We only looked at the menu for appetizers and took his suggestions for the rest. We had the molcajete with chicharones and a variety platter. Both were very delicious. We don't live nearby but, will be back next time we're in the area.
We will be stopping here from now on when we travel. The greating was so welcoming. Sat us down quickly. No wait time. Our server was phenomenal. Explained the dishes to us. The chips and salsa's were my favorite. We ordered the table side guacamole, very delicious very fresh. We went on Tuesday so we tried the tacos. The platter presentation will not disappoint. Service & Food was amazing 💯 we will be coming back. Definitely recommend 👌🏼
I thought this restaurant had authentic mexican dishes for some of the descriptions and reviews but it's Tex-Mex, nothing wrong with it I just had another expectations, food is good, they have fresh made tortillas, flour and corn, I like it, I plan a second visit to try the spicy shrimp called " a la diabla"
I tried their Sea Bass Ceviche and it would’ve been more delicious if it didn’t contain a lot of purple onions. But it’s okay the ceviche was fresh and tasty. Their skinny margaritas are good as well! I’m giving it a four star, because I felt the prices were overpriced a bit. But will still come back!
The food is much better than average but not a 5 star restaurant. Courteous and attentive waitress, anticipating our needs.
One of our favorite places in Weatherford to go eat Mexican food. We love their chips and salsa. My husband and I got the fajitas for two with charro beans and rice everything was delicious and cooked perfectly. We had so much left over that we brought it home. The service was on point and our waitress was great. We had a wonderful time and enjoyed our dinner date and the atmosphere was great, quiet and relaxing.
Overall experience was satisfactory. The attentive service and generous portions were highlights, although it's unfortunate that the carnita tacos lacked flavor despite the tender pork. The option for a spicier salsa was a thoughtful addition. Perhaps exploring different menu items on our next visit could enhance the dining experience.
Updated review. This is a very good local Mexican Restuarant. Great bar, very good food with quick service. Their Margarita Swirls are very good and potent. Good selection of beers and very good specialty drinks. We always bounce around the menu and haven't had anything we wouldn't have a second time. Their Tres Leches Cake is excellent.
First off… Their green salsa is my favorite!! Service really depends on who’s waiting on you but management seems to be very present every time I’ve been there. There have been times for food has come out incorrect, and they have fixed it and been very polite about it. I love their salmon, shrimp, fish, tacos, quesadillas… etc. are all delicious and I feel like I always leave stuffed!! The restrooms are always very clean when I have been there, as is the rest of the restaurant. Their patio in the back is perfect for a small get together or four groups needing space to have food and meet!
Went there for Birthday luncheon for my sister and 22 friends and relatives. We all enjoyed our food very much. The service was lacking we had to ask staff to take our order, ask for plates, ask to pick up dirty plates and ask for check. The prices were reasonable. Thumbs up! I would go again. I would recommend they focus on training the staff to give good service. They had lots of staff and barely any customers when we were there at 2pm on a Sunday. We made reservations two weeks in advance and they had not made any preparations for us. We had to wait 15 minutes to be seated while they pushed together tables.
Delicious and amazing Mexican food. Fresh guacamole made right at your table side. Anything you order will be delicious. Staff at every friendly and helpful. Food was served very quickly. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. I tried the Huitlacoche and was blown away by the flavor, highly recommended. I also had the asado de puerco and the meat was very tender and flavourful. This place has some of the best food I have had in a long time, definitely worth a detour to come and check out. I can't wait to come back
Food was not what i expected. All the salsa were too hot. I was told my plate came with beans and veggies. Plenty of veggies but no beans. Bummer.
The guacamole is AMAZING! Had it takeout, and the size was questionable for $15.00, but the taste made up for it…almost. The soup on the other hand was terrible. 1 star out of 5 for sure! $12.00 for broth and a few cubes of unseasoned chicken with a side of cheese, 2 slices of avocado, and some tortilla strips. Very disappointing.
We were in the area and decided to give this place a try. It's nice inside, decent atmosphere, it looks fairly new or remodeled. The music wasnt my type of Mexican music but that's just a preference thing. The one thing I didn't like about the atmosphere was that we encountered alot of gnat/flies. It wasnt to the point that we couldn't eat but it seemed like every few minutes we were swatting gnats. Our server, didn't get his name, was ok. He addressed us promptly, maybe he could have been a bit more sociable. He wasn't rude but didn't seem like he was willing to earn his tip. He did a basic job, nothing special, bare minimum. Wife ordered a sangria swirl. Very strong. I liked it but she said it was too strong. Chips were ok. There were 2 types of salsa. I wasn't impressed with either one. My wife liked the green salsa. My wife ordered the Enchiladas de crema (sour cream chicken enchiladas).those were very good. Kudos. The rice was fine but the charro beans were very plain. She only took one spoon of hers, I finished mine but agreed with her, just beans in juice, no cilantro or onions or tomato. I ordered chicken mole. Their are countless variations of mole recipes. This one was decent. I've definitely had better but also had worse. The presentation was decent as well. I asked my wife what her grade on scale of one to 10 she said a 3. I give them a 5 maybe 6. Here is what I think they need to focus on... The beans, I make better charro beans. The salsa. Alot of people, myself included, judge by the chips and salsa. The salsa needed more flavor. Get rid of the fruit flies/gnats. Those are things that stick out and kept them from a 4 or 5 star.
My boyfriend and I went here once before and the food was outstanding! The second time we went there we ordered our food and it came out very quick and my boyfriend looked like literal slop my meat was dry and had no flavor and the server was gone and took forever to come back to a table for chips or drinks or anything honestly. When we asked to try something else the manager came over and talk to us and apologized but did absolutely nothing for us so we still wind up paying full price and the food still wasn’t that great. The manager tried to blame my taste buds for why the food did it taste good in the server was so rude we will never come back here again!
Arrived at 3pm on a Friday and it took 5 minutes to be greeted. Ordered the chicken combo, the enchilada was tiny and the taco had ground beef in it not chicken but the waiter never came back so I ate it. Beef is not seasoned and was pretty dry. Whole meal was very bland and the staff seems to forget about you.
Good service, but bland non-authentic food, that was overpriced. Ordered two burritos the size of taquitos, for like $14. not a very authentic Mexican ambiance, they played 2010s top 100 the whole time. All in all, very mediocre.
We have eaten here several times to make sure it was just a not “one off” experience. In our opinion the food is so-so and way overpriced. A simple enchilada dinner and a burrito dinner should not cost $70 with ice tea to drink for two senior citizens.
What I loved: The service, atmosphere, and overall vibes were great. The staff was friendly, the place looked amazing, and it definitely has a welcoming feel. What missed the mark: The food is overpriced for the quality delivered. I ordered the Mole Verde (Pipian), and the chicken under the mole was definitely not freshly grilled. It had that tough, dry texture you get from leftover grilled chicken that’s been sitting for hours (or from the day before). I smoke and grill plenty of chicken myself—I know the difference. At this price point, fresh should be a given. The mole itself was alright, but nowhere near the best I’ve had, especially compared to what you can get in Michoacán or even local spots back home for half the cost. Fresh chicken alone would’ve made the dish significantly better. For $20+, do better. My colleague ordered the Asado Pork with Chipotle Sauce, and while it wasn’t bad, it had a strong citrus flavor (like limey) was overpowering to the point it took away from the dish. Again, not worth the price. The one standout was the Chicharrones with Habanero Sauce appetizer. Solid 4/5—super tasty, but almost $20 for chicharrones? Bruh… Overall: Lunch for two came out to around $90 (two drinks), and for that price, the quality should be more consistent—especially the freshness of the chicken. I’ll come back and give this place another shot because the service and atmosphere were great, and I’ll update my rating then. But for now, it’s a solid 2.5 stars from me.
I ordered the chicken tortilla soup for dinner, it was lacking flavor. It appeared bland and tasted bland! Under salted and drenched in cheese. For $12, I was not impressed. The only thing I really liked was the salsa + chips and the decent waiter. Probably will not be going back.
This unfortunately is white people Mexican food that markets themselves as authentic. We were a big party (we’re Hispanic) and nobody liked their food. No one from my party was satisfied. Their service was awesome but it’s hard to give more stars when all you wanted was good food and can’t find a single authentic place. I recommend Aztecas across the street, they’re a little more authentic than Oaxaca… anyways… if you’re American and think this is authentic… you have it alllll wrong my friends.. super overpriced too. Expensive and unauthentic.
Got 2 pieces of Quattro leches cake strawberries were rotten Waitress was rude as well She did her job but tried to argue over our coupon smirked at me rolled eyes then whispered to another waitress laughing at us Spent 250 dollars to get rotten food and a rude waitress
Ordered the brisket enchiladas and my plate came out with the smallest portions known to man. I sent it back and they brought it to me with this disgusting orange cheese like sauce which smelled like vomit. I ended up not eating at all and still paying for the food because I didnt want to cause a scene. The place is falling apart literally. Take a look around and really pay attention they are charging a ridiculous amount for a poorly ran restaurant. Skip this place and go to Antonio's. Our server was awesome and kept apologizing, she knew the place was trash and I tipped her anyways.
Just left this restaurant and it was Literally the worst Mexican food place I have ever eaten at. The salsa and drinks tasted good, however the food tasted like it had been frozen for weeks and then cooked in a microwave. The steak was gray and rubbery, the chicken was way overcooked and dry, and the chili con carne sauce on my enchilada tasted like it came from a can. There is Nothing authentic or fresh about this restaurant.
