I came in yesterday on the 4th and I had amazing time. JP who was my server made sure that he was attentive and I well taken care of. His contribution to the atmosphere and ambiance of the restaurant will be the key reason I will be returning soon! The cuisine was also exquisite and well received by my pallet.

Stopped in for a Graduation party of 12. Hannah was our waitress. Extremely professional, attentive. Made sure to ask if we wanted anything prior to happy hour closing and ensuring they were posted before cutoff. Very kind demeanor. She is a huge asset to the company! You rock Hannah!

Came in for date night and had one of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had. JP was my server and he was attentive, helpful, and spot on with his recommendations. The shrimp Diablo he suggested was phenomenal, the fajitas were extraordinary, and we loved the sopas. As a service manager I appreciate the high level of service I received. We will be back to see JP again soon!

El Arroyo never disappoints, and it's weird that I have never written a review for the restaurant before. In today's environment, you have to give credit where it is just deserved! Our waitress tonight was awesome! (And her hair was fly as well!) Nicole was warm, inviting, and most importantly, made us laugh! Charm and friendliness have been lost on an entire generation due to its lack of soft skills! Next time you go to this location, ask for her! She is our new waitress!

Went on a Sunday, December afternoon. It was our daughter's 30th birthday. Sat on the patio, listened to live music, had a marg (or 2), ate too many chips & salsa, finished with the fajita dinner for 2, and relaxed for a couple of hours. Great time.

My family and me were in town visiting relatives and they brought us to this spot on a Wednesday for their margarita special night. El Arroyo in great in their of food, atmosphere, and definitely in their service. Our server Abraham was patient with all our questions and got our food and drinks out quickly, we called him the "Margarita Guy" cause we would ask for a new round and they would be at our table within a couple minutes. We are definitely coming back next time we are in Arlington!

My bartender Lindsay was very busy the day I went in. She was able to take care of me and the group of friends I was with. Her bar was full and she still was able to take care of us with no problems. Every Wednesday we go for $2.99 margaritas, which are the BEST!!! The staff is great, Reina, Jacobo and Maria are very professionals, friendly, attentive and caring. El Arroyo is a branch of the original in Austin, Texas. It’s great. The food is always delicious as is the service. From fajitas, to tacos, to enchiladas, to some of their specialty dishes, you can’t go wrong. One of our favorites is the guacamole appetizer. Really solid! Overall a great meal and great service. Also if you are looking for happy hour, they have a huge patio area.

Always a family favorite for lunch or dinner. Their menu is varied and the atmosphere is fantastic. One of the best porches to dine on in the area. The margaritas are delicious and cool. We always make it a point to eat here when in town. The service is fast and friendly.

Truly a rocking (resort feel) porch area with music, Bar, TVs and misting fans for those hot days! Perfect for a mid day drinks, lunch and dinner! We drove over an hour to go here based on Google reviews and online menu showing fried ice cream! Easy to find! First off, the salsa is very unique and fresh! Good chips too! We ordered fajitas for two (combo beef and chicken) and they were the best! The food was plentiful and we needed a to go box! What they do with a humble skirt steak is amazing. Perfectly cooked with great flavor. Plenty of food, the enchiladas were outstanding, and the tamale plate is the real deal.

First of all Cindy was an amazing server! She was attentive enough without being overbearing. I would say she is a seasoned server. She asked the right questions. The shrimp diablo was awesome! I will say that sitting on the patio was noisy but the atmosphere was pleasant. If you can hit the happy hour it lasts until 6:00 and has a nice selection of options. Would definitely come back again.

This has become my spot for a quick lunch with friends. The staff is always so cordial and welcoming, which makes all the difference. They open at 11 am so it's great for brunch. Food is excellent! The service was okay on the evening we went, but our server seemed more distracted cleaning up and other tables. We never got a refill on our drinks or offered more chips. The street tacos and fajitas were so good! So, we came back for lunch the next day and our service was way better and the kid was much more attentive. We will definitely be back.

While you can seat a large group of people, I wouldn't want other patrons to suffer because I need to slide five 4 person tables together. We used to eat here about 20 years ago when we lived in the area. We are back in town and decided to reminisce a bit for dinner. The food was solid, and drinks were a good deal during happy hour. Nothing spectacular for meals, but happy hour pricing made it worth the trip. We shared an Arroyo sampler, ditch fries, fajita nachos for a table of four. The fries were kind of a let down, everything else was good.

We were in Arlington and wanted to try this place for a while. We were seated immediately and got our drinks pretty quickly. Sofia was very attentive and friendly. The staff wore different t shirts with humorous printing on the back. My partner just had guacamole and chips. I ordered the chicken street tacos with rice and beans. Everything was very delicious. I even forgot to take a picture of my plate before I started eating 😁 The margarita was really tasty. The food and drinks were pricey compared to other Mexican places but the atmosphere was really cool. I have never heard so many 70’s classic rock songs played in a Mexican restaurant but I enjoyed it, as did others. I would definitely come back to try different dishes and would recommend this place to anyone who loves Mexican food.

I’m awarding El Arroyo with the “loudest restaurant in Arlington” title, previously held by Pappasito’s. Otherwise, they have a nice, friendly staff with decent Tex-Mex. Tip: Bring a note pad and pen to communicate with others at your table.

Not as good as it used to be. Server was great, just food isn't as good. And it was better when they played classic rock in the main area!!

Stopped in for lunch on Friday. During lunch on weekdays they have a limited menu to choose from. Had beef enchiladas with Verde sauce. Had some queso and chips with a Strawberry Margarita. Hot sauce with chips was weak and the queso was ok. The meal was out quickly and was good. The Margarita wasn't bad. It was a typical Mexican restaurant experience.

This gem of Arlington never fails to fill me up. Their foods quantity and quality is awesome. And they even have happy hours. However, i went there yesterday, everything went well until the bill and change came out. i gave the waitress 50.00 bill and she gave me 24.00 even for change. I was confused coz it was supposed to be 25.40 for change so she made a mistake or she's already taken the tips. Look like the manager should help them with counting money coz this brings the reviews to 3 stars. I dont like people my money before me giving them no matter how much it is.

8/15/25 – The live music was excellent, and the performer truly enhanced the atmosphere. Complimentary chips and salsa were a pleasant start to the meal. However, service was somewhat slow. I ordered the fajita quesadillas, and unfortunately, the portion size was quite small. They were prepared with small tortillas, and the meat was not evenly distributed, leaving some pieces with only cheese.

Let's be honest, you come here for the nice patio and the drinks. Margaritas and beeritas are reasonably priced, the outdoor area is huge with fans and heaters, and they have the occasional live music in a good atmosphere. The new bar outside looks great but there's a shortage of bartenders it seems. The food is ok, just your average Tex Mex. Service is going to be hit or miss. There are nice waiters but they can get overwhelmed. There are at least 4 hostesses yet they don't really know what they are doing and they don't know when tables have been empty for a while. I still enjoy coming here for the patio and drinks, and I can increase my rating once they iron out the issues.

It is great place for a quick eat and sit down on the night out. Casual place for lunch. As for the food, it's pretty good nothing exceptional but enjoyable. The drinks are great of course, stay for the drinks and have a nice meal.

Went for a birthday dinner for our nephew. The waitress wouldn't take orders from my husband. I had to do all the talking. Honestly it was such a large party she Honestly should had more help then herself. Seating area as a group party was very small and out in the middle of a sitting area. The food was great. The service was really good. The problem was is that they charged us extra for things that they did not tell us about. It was very frustrating. We even spoke to the manager, and they were not willing to adjust the bill. They had some items on their happy hour menu, but if you ordered steak on the nachos, there was an extra dollar charge, but that was not disclosed and it was offered by the waitress as a selection. I thought that it was handled poorly. Had i been the manager I would simply remove the extra fees that were charged based on the fact that she knew that the waitress misspoke. But that’s not the position that they took. She said that she had talked to the waitress and that it wouldn’t happen again. We ended up not leaving a tip just because we were upset of the overcharges. We had about $10 worth of over charges that we were not expecting. I would go back again because the food was good, but I’ve learned my lesson. My rating is no reflection of the food itself or honestly the service that we received. It was the fact that they didn’t disclose their prices correctly. The menu reflected fajita nachos, but apparently that price only included chicken, but the waitress gave us multiple options.

We went there for lunch. I asked our waitress if they have fresh coffee if they don't, can she brew a fresh pot. It was cold and raining outside. The waitress served the coffee warm, not even hot, it wasn't fresh! The whole time she was waiting in some other area. I got hold of another waitress and asked her if she could brew a pot of coffee, and she said yes. Finally our waitress showed up and she told me as it was served in a porcelain cup it gets cold!!! She said she would bring freshly brewed coffee in a styrofoam cup which she did. It was the same old coffee she put in the microwave!!! She never refilled the water and she left the empty plates on the table. Basically all she did was take our order and bring the check! Overall the service was very disappointing😲 Left her tip 18% which she did not deserve it 😕

On Friday, July 25th 2025, I ordered the shrimp cocktail and was shocked to find broken glass in it, which cut the roof of my mouth. This is a major health and safety hazard. While the waiter was kind enough to offer Orajel for the pain, the manager’s response was completely unacceptable. He dismissed the issue, removed the dish without investigating, and simply claimed that the kitchen had no broken glass. This lack of concern for customer safety is alarming. Incidents like this should be treated seriously, not brushed off.

We found hair in our food. This place is disgusting. Don’t go here. New staff is awful. Old staff was so much better.

Trying to find lunch items for less than $20, not easy. Ordered carry out that was supposed to include small side of white queso. The white queso is why I went there to begin with. Charged me about $3.50 for the tiny size container that salsa usually comes in and is free. No such thing. Didn’t get the white queso, got the yellow goop instead. Paid more than $20 for 2 crispy tacos, refried beans and rice. Got NO chips nor any salsa. Overall food was average at best. Suggest you spend your hard earned money elsewhere. Manager quite rude as well. Their online menu much cheaper than actual prices so customer is ready to order only to find out the final price is much higher. What do you do? Start over or live with it.

If you like bland and basic food. Please enjoy yourself here. If you like tasteless salsa that is just tomatoes and lukewarm “famous” queso this is your place! On a positive note this place lets me know I can totally open my own restaurant and be successful cause if this place is still going I can trick the public like them! I don’t even have time to go into the entree portion of the meal but spoiler alert**** it was just as bad!!

UPDATE 10-30-25 Prices on Draft Beer Thursday special increased to $3 (from $2) without the server mentioning anything. More importantly, it took 3 attempts for the kitchen to cook my entree properly, Carne Asada. 1st attempt over done beef, served well done instead of medium rare. 2nd attempt was served disgustingly rare barely cooked, so I then ordered beef fajitas. Once again, over done, served medium well done. The kitchen wasted two entrees, delayed my dinner by 20-30 minutes trying and failing to get an entree cooked correctly. Service from Nate was good overall. 2nd visit inside dining. Not busy at all at 8:30 PM on July 3. From start to finish a disaster except for ice cold draft beer in frosted schooner glasses. Service was beyond terrible, waiter screwed up the order and had no attention to detail in addition to being lazy, had to ask for chips and salsa which arrived after the meal. not even checking if the meal was good and bringing our check before we had even finished eating. We even had to ask for utensils. I had fish tacos which were bland and no seasoning or marinade. The menu said they come with Baja sauce but that was missing. No pico de gallo or cabbage or anything and was served on flour tortillas instead of corn tortillas requested. Bottom line is a small tilapia filet in the wrong tortilla for $15. Not no but h-e-double hockey sticks NO! Except for the beer, MUCH better food and service at Taco Bueno half the price. complete waste of $23 for an incredibly lousy dinner and bad experience.

wanted to like it so bad i came here during my lunch a couple days ago and i got the carne guisada and it came out within 5 minutes.. that was fairly quick to me but i didn’t think much of it. unfortunately i got very sick from the food im assuming it might of just been sitting there or it was old /:

After not visiting for ten years, I decided to take my Air Force daughter and meet her siblings at El Arroyo, terrible decision. Service was great, and it seem the patio, drinking gathering seem fun, but we were there for family time, food, and a couple of drinks. With a table of ten we were ready, to start our own party, but got shutdown as soon as we received our food. We ordered tacos plates, enchiladas plates, and appetizers. Tacos has no flavor, it was just a pale and dull tortillas, the meat had no taste, and the sides, rice and beans, weren't any different. Enchilada plates, enchiladas were okay, but same rice and bean taste, no taste so the only thing eating out of the plates were the enchiladas. Avocado appetizer and chips were good. Prices are to high for the cheap food they serve, but again, due to the patio atmosphere, El Arroyo seems to be a place to get drunk at. Parking is horrible, tight small parking lot.

There is not anyway to leave zero star rating, so here goes. Not quite the price shocker I was expecting for lunch on a simple $6.40 half order of Nachos. It sounds like a great price for lunch right? Wrong!!!! Absolutely ridiculous pricing for pickled & fresh jalapeños . Not to mention the most offensive abbreviation for Jalapeños referred to as "Japs". The server informed me that pricing what not something she could change and pointed to the "Owners" as the issue with charging $1.99 for jalapeños and $2.49 for fresh jalapeños. Not to mention these were small ramkim side pricing. Needless to say, you can make all the quirky slogans on your ground sign, so just make sure you also disclose over pricing for condiments that should be at least $0.99. I just won't recommend this place, but hope to hear back from owners or management.

They charge you too pay with a debit card! Who carries cash anymore. This place was amazing back in the day. Not so much anymore. Limited drink menu and food menu. Saving grace was the fajitas were delicious. If all you want is beer or margaritas with good fajitas this is your place.

Restaurant needs to be renovated. Paint is coming off the walls. Updates haven't been made since they opened decades ago. Promised to have the Super Bowl on their tv's, but they only had it on in their small bar area and not in the restaurant area. Manager refused to put it on the other tv's.

Came in on my lunch break. I was excited to try the place… I specifically told the server three times!!! Please no raw onion of any kind on my food!! No pico No raw onion of any kind!!! I asked three times politely they rest assured my food would not have any onions! I should have checked my plate before I left. Unfortunately, I was rushing due to time! I paid $16 for a scoop of brown mush that I’m assuming was guacamole with four supposed to be flautas that were so overcooked you didn’t even know what was inside of them! And of course you can guess it topped with tons of onions!!! I called back to speak with the manager! She didn’t even apologize. First and last time here!!! 16$… FOR THIS??? UNBELIEVABLE notice the cheese didn’t even melt either!!!
