Pho Barr Webster Reviews
So good! We got pho bo, beef fries and ribeye banh mi. Highly recommend all three 👏🏼
My friend had the vegan pho and I had the Bo Luc Lac with filet mignon. They were both to die for. 🙏 The atmosphere was lively and friendly. We will definitely be back!
My servers Andrew and Jade were so spectacular and helpful! Their costumer service was on point, quick, and accurate. The fries were so hot, fresh, and crispy 10/10 recommend. Their avacado smoothie was smooth, creamy, and rich. This place has good music taste as well.
Service was super polite and came around several times to check on us and the food was very good. We got vermicelli and pho of different varieties and everything was delicious and came out in a timely manner. I would definitely go back again!
Pho are very delicious!!!👍👍👍BEST PHO IN WEBSTER TEXAS. Very friendly staffs. Great atmosphere love the music. And the restroom are very clean. Will definitely recommend PHO BARR to friends and family. Loving the neon lights and Vietnamese painting on the wall. 💯💯💯🫶🫶🫶Will be back soon!!! Great job😀😀😀🫡🫡🫡
Delicious! You can taste how fresh the veggies are. There are a few great options for vegetarians, and I appreciate that they understand not to pour fish sauce over the tofu. We can easily get two meals out of each serving so great value. In-person dining has great service and fun atmosphere. It became an instant favorite for us.
Oh my gosh! The flavours, the flavours, the flavours! [Yes, I'm Canadian and spell a little differently :)] Since moving to Texas, we haven't been thrilled with the local restaurants (aside from amazing BBQ and satisfying Tex Mex). However, Pho Barr, has us believing again that there ARE nuggets here in SE Texas. Our server, Alonna (hope that is spelled correctly) was so sweet and helpful. She immediately noted that a couple items might be difficult to chew for our elderly parents (96 and 91 years old) and kindly suggested alternatives. We've been enjoying Vietnamese cuisine for decades and thoroughly loved this restaurant. We ordered the grilled beef spring rolls (perhaps the best, and slightly different satay sauce I've had) grilled chicken rice plate, the Pho Bo (soup), and the Bo Luc Lac on Stone Plate. While it was slightly on the sweeter side (which our server mentioned as well), all three plates were absolutely delicious. Can't wait to return! p.s. cute decor and signage
We ordered the vermicelli bowl, spring rolls and eggs rolls. Lots of vegetables in the bowl and the spring rolls are rolled per order so it's super fresh. Egg rolls are authentic Vietnamese style. Everything was delicious! Great customer service too. Would definitely come back again if we are in the Houston area.
This place is so nice visually and the food is good! Here's an honest review from myself and my friend by order of images 1. Tiger boba is to die for absolute liquid of the gods though very sweet so be aware 2. The fries are so good but lack salt and have (cilantro, egg with loose yolk, beef), hot sauce and mayo? 3. According to my friend the dumplings were amazing so they highly recommend 4. TAKOYAKI- I recommend but be aware the texture is definitely an experience for newbies, the inside feels like it's raw but trust me it's not it's very delicious but definitely for more adventurous or people familiar with it 5.Vermicelli bowl is my go to for pho shops so this place was no exception: I ordered it with the ribeye but it's the same meat or tastes the same due to the sauce they use to cook it as the one found in the fries. Id save the 2 bucks or so and just get regular beef with this dish if I were you as it's basically the same thing 6. My friend said the dish was good but the broth was nearly flavorless and the chicken as well overall wasn't their favorite so it's up to you on that
It is so amazing to dine here. The service is excellent and the food is yummy! This is my first time trying Bahn Mi and it is awesome. I am thinking if I can make this at home. Yet my favorite is Pho Bo. The waiter recommended the special one with tripe and we all love it. Everything is perfect.
I opted to put in a pick up order. My order was ready in less than 10 minutes and when I arrived, I was greeted immediately and the atmosphere was cozy and cool. I would say it is a good location for a casual date even. I let the staff know my order and it was immediately double checked, and given to me. Great customer service! The food itself was amazing. I purchased vegetarian spring rolls and vegetarian pho, regular size. The spring rolls were super fresh, which is a theme at this restaurant, and the peanut dipping sauce was probably the best I’ve ever had. The pho is outstanding. The subtle flavor and the textures of the ingredients meld together in a delicious way. The bean sprouts, basil, and lime were perfect. The total was under $20. I will definitely be back.
I am Completely SOLD on their Bahn sandwich!!! I got the beef one and the flavor is AMAZING! Just a little tickle of spice with crunchy veggies! Cucumber slices, carrots slices, jalapeno slice(you can always ask for this off your sandwich). Both me and my man both did the "mmm hmmm" shake with our heads after the 1st bite lol. The size is HUGE so for the price of two is great! Can't wait to come back and try the other dishes here! By the way, went to pick it up and the inside decor was pretty cool! Nice employees greet you as soon as you enter. WARNING : Make sure to order from the correct location! UPDATE : (8-31-2024) Got us a Bahn sandwhich, and a chicken&rice plate, both BOMB,nothing less to expected. Will keep eating from here👍🏾😩🙆🏾♀️
Pho Barr is raising the bar for Vietnamese food in the Webster area. I would put the restaurant up there with some of the top restaurants in the greater Houston area. The humble front of the building conceals one of the coolest decorated restaurants I’ve seen in a while. While keeping true to the Vietnamese roots of this cuisine, there is something distinctly Texan and H-town about this place. I’m loving the aesthetic from the Vietnamese murals to the neon wall decorations and lighting. I was feeling the ambiance and vibe of a place you can hang out and have a great night. The service was prompt, being greeted and shown to a seat right away. Drinks were brought to the table immediately and the food arrived what seemed like mere minutes after ordering. I ordered the Cơm tấm sườn bì chả (Broken rice with grilled pork chop) and the Vermicelli bowl with grilled ribeye. To drink I ordered Bạc Xỉu (Vietnamese White Coffee). The Cơm Tấm Sườn Bì Chả was exceptional. I had planned on just getting a bánh mì until I saw this on the menu. It says its seasonal, so I’m not sure if its temporary but you need to come get this asap. The pork chop was tender, juicy and incredibly flavorful. The rice was good and the shredded pork skin was an amazing addition. It added a nice little crunch to the meal. The egg cake (Chả Trứng) was delicious . It was like a quiche with the consistency of meatloaf. There was a hot sauce that accented the meal perfectly. All around the dish was astounding and astonishingly good. The Vermicelli bowl with ribeye was really good. The ribeye was cooked to perfection and the nước mắm was really good. I couldn’t believe the portion size. I’m not usually paying attention to portion size but the sheer amount of meat in this bowl was impossible to ignore. It definitely put some other restaurants to shame. The Bạc Xỉu was very good. This was my first time trying it. I usually get cà phê sữa đá or cà phê muối, so this was a nice change of pace. It had a smooth, delicate flavor and almost reminded me of chocolate milk with more of a coffee flavor but lacking the strong bitter coffee taste of cà phê sữa đá. I enjoyed it. The menu here was quite large with an impressive variety. I cannot wait to come back and try some of the other dishes and drinks. Please show Pho Barr some love. Your appetite will thank you!
At first I was skeptical, shady area at night a bit dark but it was this fabulous quaint spot with a bar! Lol The soup was OK but the ribeye sandwich and specialty fries had so much flavor & super tasty! The fried eye rolls were pretty tasty too! I would definitely go back! Cute decor too! Fun & cozy place w good music to sing too, yet not to loud that you can’t have a conversation. Staff was speedy & friendly!
Absolutely phenomenally delicious food. The staff are incredibly polite, friendly, and helpful with the menu. Every person working here was HUSTLING to get food out, take orders, and clear tables, sometimes even jogging back and forth. These people are good hard workers that make exceptional food. I would definitely recommend and would eat here again if I’m on this side of town.
The food was hot but needed a dose of hoisin sauce and or soy sauce for flavor. The service was good and the place has a nice, hip vibe.
When I got here I thought I'd want to take some food to go for later, but once I saw the size of that V bowl...I was like man hold up! The portions are huge. The bowl was savory and pork was well marinated. The veggies were fresh. Minus one star for the fattiness of the pork. Overall it was delicious. The service was fast and accommodating.
The food was very good and the pricing was very good also. We had beef pho, ribeye Vietnamese sandwich (my favorite). Rice with beef plate. Had their boba and the taro with boba was delicious. I asked for no sugar added and they made it without extra sugar with the exception of the small amount of syrup in the actual boba and it was delicious. My only small complaint is that the place is very dark. Would have liked a little more lighting. Very nice people.
Fun restaurant that has a nice blackout ambiance to mimic a night time viet bar. The dishes are all what you’d expect from a Vietnamese restaurant. It’s on the pricier side for the portion size but the quality is good. I recommend the rice dishes over the pho dishes. Good amount of seating, can fit large and small parties. Not what I would typically go to for Vietnamese food but if you are in the area and craving Viet it’s worth a try.
Stopped in for an early lunch before visiting the Houston Space Center. The restaurant is just a few minutes from the entrance of the space center. The pho broth was very good, not too salty, and it came with a nice amount of chopped green onions. The veggies were fresh and plentiful. The meat slices in the combination pho were tender and decent, although I would've preferred less meatballs compared to the other cuts. The pork rice dish was very flavorful and nicely presented. It was served with a cup of hot soup which also tasted good. The prices were reasonable, portions were good, and the place was clean and well decorated. The restaurant could definitely use more help, as the one server was trying to take care of six or seven tables by herself.
Service was fine- the lady that assisted me with my to go order was very kind. The atmosphere was very chill and calm, but when I initially walked in, I was unsure who to ask if it was sit yourself seating or if I had to wait on someone to sit me so I opted to just go to the bar and order to go there. The place was pretty full but there were a few tables open that I was able to wait at for my food to be ready to take home. Found it a little weird that the lady brought my food to the table that was to go, but then took it all the way back to the bar for me to grab from there. Because of the name of the restaurant, I was truly expecting the pho to be really good, but the pho ga was awful. It had a really bad smell to it first, thinking my sense of smell was tricking me again, I tasted the chicken and confirmed it was bad, and even getting rid of the chicken wasn't enough as the broth was bad, too. On the upside, I was very happy with the bahn mi and mint green tea- both were great and sweet (tea was somewhere in the middle for sweetness, but it was light and refreshing). The vegetables were fresh and it was very large portion for the sandwich that I got. Overall, I am unsure if I would return to this place since I really came for the pho and was disappointed, but I truly liked the atmosphere for this location. It was a very calm environment, easy to speak/think and lighting was great (I am migraine sufferer and it was soothing). They also have a pretty large food options to try as well.
I'm very mixed on this one. I've gone here 4 times and each time has had a variety of quality of service. The food is consistently good but the service is wishy washy. They've never been "busy" with more than 5 tables at a time or more than 15 people total dining in while I've been there but the service was pretty bad when placing a to go order in person and when we brought our children to eat with us. I'm just really scatterbrained on what to say here. The food is worth the visit, but don't ask for them to change a recipe for dietary or preference reasons because "the cooks are kinda difficult to work with". So in summary, it's good food, good beverage options, really nice atmosphere inside with the decor and plateware they use, but the service staff makes things uncomfortable when dining in or placing to go orders because they were non present and gave the impression of being non accomodating with basic requests such as cooking an egg over easy rather than sunny side up.
I really wanted to like Pho Barr, but my experience fell far short of expectations in several ways. The service was genuinely disappointing from start to finish. Despite the restaurant not being very busy, we waited about 30 minutes for our food while it was obvious that to go orders were being prioritized over dine in customers. When the food finally arrived, the portion sizes were comically small for the price. It felt like the bowls were more broth than actual food. Meat and noodles were so skimpy. I had a total of 5 bites for noodles.. To make matters worse, we weren't given napkins and had to flag someone down to ask for some, which added to the already sloppy service experience. Funny how others have mentioned this in their review as well. Overall, between the long wait, tiny portions, and lack of basic attention to customers, Pho Barr missed the mark in almost every way. Definitely not a place l'd rush back to or recommend. I hope they improve their dine in service.
Spring rolls are bland and they skimp on the tofu and shrimp. The sauce had no flavor and seemed watered down. I called and was told lesser prices for foods ordered and they were almost twice as much when I went in to pick up order. Definitely not a 4.7 rating (as shown).
