Rick's Drive In & Out Whittier Reviews
Terrific burger and fries joint. It has a throw back feel to it. They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They have a lot to choose from menu. I haven't tried a lot of it. If Burgers and Fries is your thing then Rick's is the place.
their hamburgers for juicy and thick are chili cheese fries was awesome better than the other places I have been. thank you
The Rick's taco. A masterpiece. I'm 67, I grew up in Whittier and left decades ago. I now live in Virginia. I'm in CA for a visit, and tomorrow, I will be making Rick's a destination spot as I drive from Anaheim to Pasadena. For the tacos. Best taco anywhere, ever.
Great family business serving amazing food with really friendly service. The veggie burger with a fried egg and the Turkey burger with everything were both delicious. The fried zucchini order was just enough to snack on for 2 people without feeling like too much like some places. Highly recommended.
Met up with BTS ARMY friend for lunch at Rick's Drive In & Out. Order first at the counter and then get your table. I tried the sausage egg breakfast burrito ($8.49) and chocolate and strawberry shake ($4.99). They also have vanilla, pineapple and cookies and cream flavors for the shakes. Overall a very hearty and yummy meal. Parking lot can get a bit full as well as indoor seating, so try to come during off peak hours!
I'm not sold on this place. I'll try again but the burger was good but not great and still ten dollars. So far I still prefer in n out. Price to quality to taste. I've heard this place is an institution so I'll try again but do far it's just ok.
I've been enjoying Rick's since I was in high school at their Alhambra location, but sadly that place is now closed, plus I now live in the Whittier area, so this Rick's is my go-to, usually for the drive thru and rarely dining in, so I was surprised that a server brings your food ordered at the register to your table. Place can get quite busy with people of all ages abd from all walks of life. I enjoy all their burgers but lately been having less cheese. Rick's fries are one of the best as they taste like they were made from real potatoes. Their chili cheese fries are not bad but could be better. I have yet to try their other items like the quesadilla.
This place has an old diner type restaurant feel. They got one TV. Parking lot is a decent size. I paid $5 and some change for a decent chocolate milkshake. No thrills. The shake tasted like chocolate. I think I like how they have the chocolate sauce on the bottom. They need bigger straws for their shakes, unless you like being a vacuum; trying to drink from a small straw. Restroom was clean, service was quick, and friendly.
A Char-Broil burger stand with an extensive menu has a whole lot of history throughout Southern California. Rick's is a survivor dishing out crowd favorites and regional flavors. The drive-thru is still alive for all diners' tastes and needs. It's a short-order grill here, catering to your usual menu items. Burger patties are charbroiled, which adds some additional flavors that others may not have. Hot Pastrami is a crowd favorite, along with the burritos and many breakfast items. Unfortunately, this is not a cheap eat. A double cheeseburger with bacon will set you back $22, paired with a soda and fries. They are consistent, though, and the old school favorites keep patrons coming back. The service is good. The staff is friendly and the ketchup bottles are well-stocked.
Burgers are just alright, nothing amazing or good. And don't get fooled by taquitos plate on the monitor. The rice and chicken inside taquitos tasted old, and beans had no flavor. Never again 😒
What happened Rick's Burgers???? Look at my tuna melt! We stopped by after the movies last Friday evening. It was nowhere near closing time. Service is always above and beyond. But your TUNA MELT this time was sub-par. Oh, no. Bread, not toasted evenly. Wife didn't want to order anything after seeing that. We finished our onion rings and fries while we waited for our ride back home. As expensive as you are, you would think they would up their game. Come on Rick's you all are BETTER than this Update 10/28/24: Due to circumstances, we ended up eating at Rick Check out this humongous sausage breakfast burrito!! Guess what? It's DELICIOUS!! and service tops. Thank you staff for restoring my faith in Rick's
