Granzella's Restraunt and Deli Williams Reviews
We stopped at this charming Italian restaurant in Williams during a road trip, and it turned out to be a great find! The best part is its convenient location right next to the Tesla Supercharger, making it a perfect pit stop if you’re traveling between Northern California and the Bay Area or even heading toward Southern California. While your car charges, you can easily grab a bite without wasting any time. The restaurant has a cozy, welcoming vibe with a small adjoining market and a gift shop next door. They even sell some nice Italian sauces and local goodies, which was a pleasant surprise. We ordered the vegetarian pizza, and it was freshly made, with a crisp crust and flavorful toppings. The service was quick and friendly — I had my pizza ready just in time before the car finished charging. The staff was attentive, and the whole experience felt smooth and hassle-free. Overall, it’s a solid spot for a meal on the go. Good food, efficient service, and a super convenient location for EV travelers. Definitely worth a stop if you’re passing through!
Granzella's is a must stop! Right off the intersection of 5 and 20. Wonderful sandwiches, staff, and an amazing selection of high quality Italian goods, wines, candy, baked goods, seasonings/spices, fresh gelato(!), and their own canned foods (olives, garlic, deli mix, glazes, etc.). Plenty of parking and handicap accessible.
What makes Granzella’s shine is the holistic traveler experience. Where else can you grab a fantastic tri-tip sandwich, wander through a hunting museum, browse an enormous selection of unique sodas and regional wines, and check into a clean, convenient motel—all under one roof? The staff are always friendly and efficient, managing the high volume of road-trippers with practiced ease. Granzella’s is a California landmark. It’s clean, it’s convenient, and it delivers an experience that is far greater than the sum of its parts. Do yourself a favor and make this your new mandatory I-5 pit stop. You will not be disappointed!
That famous in the know stop for travels up and down HWY 5. Serving amazing deli sandwiches in their country store, with the super bird and meatball sandwich being top choices. There is a sit down restaurant, a western bar in the back, and even a hotel now. Whenever we are in the area traveling up and down 5 or to and from clearlake, its our must stop. A interesting note is the location burned down and had to be rebuilt. From the ashes the store, restaurant, and bar has grown bigger. They were even featured on triple D.
Stopped by for breakfast and got a nicer experience than expected. This place is a gift shop, Bar, liquor store & restaurant, deli, & memorabilia shop all wrapped up into one thing. The breakfast i had was delicious the hand made drop biscuits and gravy were hearty and buttery. My GF got the chorizo burrito and it's very good but not spicy enough for my taste. I was expecting a rest stop but got a lot more than that forsure. The staff was extremely nice.
This is a great and consistent restaurant. Food feels like home cooking. Fresh peach pie is to die for! Hot turkey sandwich has thick slices of turkey with rich gravy. Sadly, I brought home a whole peach pie, and after driving 110 miles, found out it was mislabeled and actually apple pie. Still good but the peach pie is our favorite.
Good place on the highway for taking some good food and rest. The place has multiple sections to have to go or sit down food and refreshments and a store to pick up some local produce. We had a leisurely sit-in lunch and the food was wholesome and fresh. The service quite efficient. On the way out, we picked up some of the store's ice cream and it was really delicious. The toilets were clean and there was ample free parking.
The menu provides an excellent range of options that allows for many particular tastes and preferences. The French dip was fine, just not very flavorful. Potato salad was a hit. Teriyaki chicken was generous with the serving size if a little dry. Raviolis were enjoyed. After we ate we enjoyed a very generously sized gelato at the counter. Excellent! The store was great with lots of interesting choices. The deli also looked tantalizing. The bar relies on the same menu, but the atmosphere is unique as it is filled with taxidermy animals. A fun stop, especially if you need to charge your EV. 😊
Alittle pricey.. two sandwiches, a soda & a bag of chips was nearly $50 and we shared the to soda. Overall the atmosphere was nice ..old town design..similar to old Sacramento... Now I could say I've. Been there ... The dinning experience I have not had ..but I'm sure the ticket will be big / pricey .. if two sandwiches, a soda & chips were $50 ... Aside from that ..it was nice 👍🏼
Should have taken a picture of my minestrone soup. I'm used to minestrone soup that has flavor and color, this soup looked dead compared to what I'm used to. It had mushrooms in it which I'm not used to, and it took over the flavor. My friend got chicken strips that looked like it came out of a freezer. Lots of breading, not a lot of chicken. She said the garlic fries were good. My other friend said the hamburger was good. Lasagna was a huge portion, but just ok. House salad was good, but had crushed green olives in it.
The best tourist trap you'll find off the freeway for miles around. It's really a must stop for all travelers and locals alike. This place has all you need, if you are looking for a high end delicatessen with the best deli sandwiches made with a really good choice of meats and cheese. In the store area, you will find jars and jars of locally grown olives as well as imported ones too. They used to have a free sample area but that is gone now. It's worth the stop if you got the cash.
Terrible experience, second time eating here. All waitresses need to be trained on customer service and how to work together with co workers. First we had sat down and then a waitress asked us to move, then another said it's OK where we are sitting. Had to wait a long time for somebody to come over and ask if we were ready to order. Also a long wait to get our food, when multiple people came in after had gotten their order first. When food came out it looked great, but had no flavor whatsoever. Also saw an older couple order and never really ate their food and seemed as if they was ready to get a check. 👎🙅♂️
What happened to this place? The water is undrinkable. I tried to switch to a soda, and it was just as bad. Ordered chili and side salad. The chili is no less than 5 days old and tasteless. Salad was totally underwhelming. Way overpriced for food we couldn't eat. They tried to charge for the soda we sent back. Don't waste your time stopping at this overpriced dump. It's not even a shadow of what it used to be. We're totally disappointed! The waiter never once asked about our food or offered to adjust the bill when we left after taking only a couple bites and decided not to take anything with us. I do not usually write bad reviews. This was such a bad experience. I feel I'd be doing the public a disservice by not writing this. It's not the grand restaurant from our childhood. You'd be embarrassed if you talked this place up to someone and then brought them here.
