The Copper Kettle Woodside Reviews
Lovely place to go to comfortable making you feel right at home. Great food and service and prices are good for amount of food.
Best place in town for food, fun, and atmosphere! The Guinness is pulled just right and the food is great! The staff ROCKS!
A really wonderful neighborhood bar and restaurant with friendly and attentive staff! Food was out of this world.
Great food, pleasant atmosphere, and good service. One of my favorite restaurants in the neighborhood.
Great food and a friendly staff. Definitely recommend.
Friendly staff, nice and short drink/food menu. I had the most delicious Brisket Sandwich.
Great atmosphere, decent food, would totally recommend eating at this fine establishment
Good place for happy hour specials, appetizers and comfort food. Friendly and attentive owner and staff.
The food here is literally the best in the neighborhood . Awesome service too. Highly recommend !!
Was here for a work party. Great service, food, and the yard is adorable! Great job, kudos to the new management.
Fantastic, food was outstanding and the relaxed atmosphere was great after a busy day.
Myself being a millennial... i can honestly say this is the safest space I've ever been in. Not for lack of trying of course, but every single person I've met here has been *conversation of the day* in the best way possible. If you see Jamie, Brogie, or Joe, you're in for the friendliest bartender experience this side of "actors row". Go for the people, stay for the conversations, come back for the feelings.
Great food, great vibes, great friends. I never pass up an invite to go to this neighborhood gem! Just the best!!!
Good service. Comfortable atmosphere. Food is very good. We ordered steaks and shrimp. Meat was very tasty. Good portion. Priced reasonably.
Everything at this bar (food, ambiance, service, staff, cleanliness and accommodation) is 10/10. So glad it’s our local easy to go to bar!!!
Warm, friendly, accommodating, delicious, and so many more heartfelt experiences from consistent experiences at this exceptional pub.
Great local spot. Food is surprisingly good, even for pub food. Staff and experience are very traditional and friendly.
Shepherd’s Pie and Curry Chicken are favorites at this nice local spot in Queens. They have a lovely outdoor seating area when the weather is nice.
Top place for dinner/brunch/drinks with friends/drinks after work. Food is excellent, especially the wings. Very friendly and welcoming staff.
Had a burger here. Pretty decent. Always seems packed at the bar whenever I pass by. Good place to sit and watch a game and have a beer.
This is a great place for food, beer and watching sports games. It is a typical Irish pub. The food is simple but pretty good. I definetly recommend this place if you want simple and good food
good food, great ambiance. everyone is chill. the sole Florentine, the surf and turf salad and the crab cakes are 🤌
Great place. They treat you really well there. Food is great, and the bartenders are super attentive. Never a bad experience.
Great selection of whiskey. Did not eat this time. However, food smelled delicious!!
Hasn’t changed in 30 years - and that’s a great thing. Chicken curry was just like back home and the pints and service were top notch. No surprise that they stay around.
Food was really delicious...staff is very nice and helpful. Drinks were very tasty and strong!!!
Was just in for bottomless brunch. Great selection on menu for drinks and food & well priced. Need to mention Alisha who was our server & she was excellent. Kept us topped up at all times for the bottomless 🙂
Atmosphere is always A1 and the food is so delicious, I think we go at least once a week at this point! We always try the specials and every time we are so impressed by the food! I’m still thinking of there fish taco special, stuffed chicken and turkey dinner. Highly recommend!!
Very nice neighborhood restaurant where all the locals go to hang out and have a delicious meal. I've been there several times but recently went on Thanksgiving day. The traditional Thanksgiving dish had both turkey and ham with all the trimmings and sides. Delish!!! Definitely the place to go when you're in the hood.
Go and talk to John for Sunday brunch. The drink is free. Just don't hold it against him for rooting for Man U. Beyond that it's a great place for a beer. They've had Back In Black for a year now. It's the only place I've found in the city with it on tap. Their burgers are delicious.
Friend had the fish and chips which looked amazing! I had the Reuben with no bread and a side salad with their house balsamic vinegarette dressing all gluten free and delicious. No gluten free desserts unfortunately, but enjoyed dinner and the service.
This place has been a staple for me and my family. Great food and service.
Nice cozy location on Skillman ; classic Irish Pub to stop by where you may order right at the bar. Service is good with several menu choices . For a bite or for a sip! Your call
Heard they have a new chef!! Had to go try it out. Went with my family for dinner, had the chicken sandwich, “amazing”, fish and chips and shepherds pie!!! Also went for lunch, it was so good. Service was great and very attentive at all times. Definitely going back again. Highly recommend it.
Visited for a birthday recently, and it was a great time. The food was delicious- we ordered the wings as an appetizer. I ordered the pulled pork mac and cheese. My 5 year old stepson ordered a kids cheeseburger and received an adult cheeseburger- he devoured all of his food and then picked off of others plates! Someone else ordered a steak sandwich and the steak was just right. It's a very nice location. The server was attentive, courteous and polite. Oh! And the bathroom spreads positive messages! Definitely worth a visit.
Food is good. Nice tap selection
Always a pleasure. Service is great. Unless they a very busy they don't rush you. Food is delicious. We went for Sunday brunch and had eggs Benedict. So good! hollandaise in the side. Your choice of bacon and either home fries or french fries or sweet potato fries! Excellent prices.
Craving an appetizing and satisfying Irish weekend brunch or a delicious mouthful for lunch or a succulent steak for a hefty dinner at a fair price, please come and visit Woodside, Queens’ most prized corner bar and restaurant. The Copper Kettle brings home the taste of mouth-watering and mouth-warming food straight from their gourmet kitchen. Great tasting and delicious meals and foods from their menu full of flavorful meal options and a good list of tasty appetizers. To end, I would like to add that this place is spacious and they feature a beer garden in addition to their incredible ambiance in the open space backyard area of the restaurant.
Love this eatery. Doesn’t get more local that this. Locals hangout with generations of families enjoying Sunday dinners, sports games at bar and living life. Has a great vibe, staff and owner is very welcoming. We were Woodside residents and have been patronizing The Copper Kettle for over 20 years since moving to LongIsland. The place is a Gem and pray for their reopening 🙏
I had my baby shower here over the summer in the open area in the back. The staff was extremely accommodating and attentive. They helped with setting up and made sure that everyone had food, drinks, and dessert. The food was delicious and they allowed us to bring our own special bag themed dessert.
Nice place. Very good food and the drinks amassing
Great place for a beer and some food. Hadn't been for a while and was in Sunnyside and decided to have some lunch. This was our immediate choice, and we were not disappointed. We decided that we must start coming back more often.
Dropped in here without anyone’s recommendation. We aren’t from the neighborhood. Totally enjoyed a couple cocktails…. an Irish version of an espresso martini and an excellent tequila and mezcal cocktail plus great roasted turkey sandwich for lunch. Great service from Charlene!! Thank you
Delicious! Came here on St. Patrick's Day. The corned beef & cabbage was so tender and fresh as well as the potatoes it came with. Had the potato skins for an app, tasted so hot and homemade, loved the bloody mary too. My mom had the cheeseburger and said it was delicious too. The service was great and we sat outside in the enclosed patio. It was very comfortable and nice. Highly recommend! The owner was also very friendly & nice too. Will definitely be going back!
Just had brunch at the copperkettle, heard they had a new chef, had to check it out. I had the Quinoa Veggie Burger, it was delicious, I will definitely be back for it. The staff were very welcoming and attentive, great neighborhood bar! I also took a look at the new cocktail menu, great addition, can’t wait to try everything.
I recently visited The Kettle and had a fantastic experience. The service was exceptional, with attentive and friendly bartenders and servers. The new bartender Charlene made the visit very enjoyable with her friendly personality. There is a new chef and kitchen staff and it reflects positively in the overall quality of the food. They have a new lunch menu that offers the Irish breakfast from 12pm to 4pm daily, and it was truly delicious. Loved it! The overall food quality was excellent, making it a delightful dining experience. Can't wait to try the rest of the new menu! This is a great small pub and restaurant in the Woodside neighborhood!
The kettle is always good!!! Staff are quick and attentive and the food is good. We go at least 3 or 4 times a month.
The food was good. Service was slow and there was a lot of construction so it was noisy. I would try it again.
Good food and portions. The waiter never gave the change back despite us waiting for over 10 minutes
Great bar. Food and drink is really good. Pat the owner is a great guy.
Great spot for a bite to eat, and a nice beer. Fast service. The new Burgers are great.
Service was very slow. Food was ok. Drinks were not so good. The hamburger order was wrong. Overall, nice place.
An Irish bar/restaurant experience where a lot of patrons know each other. The food was good from quite a varied menu, the service was friendly and the prices were in line with what I'm use to elsewhere.
Went there once because my friend wanted a hot white chocolate drink and I order one as well. I have to say it was pretty good. Payed a little more then I like but thats fine.
Very good service, but over priced menu. Food was good for an Irish Pub. I believe $18 for a salad and $17 for a burger definitely not reasonable in Woodside.
Good tacos. I suggest you take your friends or family & try it. Nice place.
Best wings in Queens! Great service, drinks, and dinners. Booths are great on a special night when u need to talk quietly.
Good burgers & beer place. Not fancy, but I like that. Staff was friendly. Restaurant nice and clean.
Decent neighborhood joint with large portions of comfort food. Beer list is full of macro offerings (i.e. no craft/local options).
Went simple with apps and the Guinness Mac and Cheese, and it was absolutely delicious. Great atmosphere as well.
Nice neighborhood restaurant with pleasant wait staff, reasonable prices and surprisingly good food. Definitely worth a visit!
Friendly neighborhood bar. Saturday brunch was delish. The salmon and beet salad was yummy!!! I wish the salmon fillet was bigger but it was still good! Service was friendly.
Food is overpriced and beer selection is mostly macro stuff. It's fine, and you won't have a bad time, but I've been there a bunch of times at this point, and I'm underwhelmed. Go to Solid State for better beer, and bring your food in. Edit: tried more of their food, and some of it is actually really good. And given inflation in the area, which is obscene, I'd actually recommend it.
This was the first place I visited on my first night in NY. I'm from Oklahoma and was looking for a place to catch the Thunder game. I peeked my head in the doorway to see if it was on and was immediately greeted by the bartender to take a seat. He made sure we were comfortable the whole night, even though my sister and I just shared a plate and didn't order any drinks. He was friendly and hilarious and made me feel completely at home, even talked some Thunder basketball with me. I will definitely go back just to see him again, but the food was delicious, too. My sister was going to order a Stella but unfortunately they didn't have it or anything like it. Still, great atmosphere, I would recommend it.
Solid boozy brunch spot in sunnyside/ Woodside area, which has a dearth of weekend brunch restaurants. Each brunch entree comes with a complimentary beverage, which needn't be boozy but could be. I got the bloody Mary and it was on point. For $25, you get bottomless for 90 minutes. Other non-brunch cocktails were well made too. Angus burger with sunny side up egg, bacon, caremalozed onion etc was delicious. Blackened salmon very high qualiy. They also have an Irish breakfast, steak and eggs, poached eggs, and other tempting options. It's too bad the vibes aren't better here. Not to say vibes are bad, but the place has little to no atmosphere. Very dark. Looks like an old Irish bar. Food is on par with a high end diner, but the ambiance doesn't match the quality of the eats. Still very worth checking out for boozy brunch in the area!
Food was good, we ordered sandwiches, beer and white wine. Sandwiches where really good! The waitress was nice but didn't get my order right: I asked for fried sweet potatoes and she brought french fries. She was kind enough to bring a sweet potato fries right away. The place was ok, clean. But it was summer so it was too hot outside, we switched inside for the air conditioner.
I ordered an Irish breakfast and my friend ordered the salmon..the bread i had was hard as a rock, the hash was overly crispy and the bacon wasn't done right..my friend's salmon was ok.. service was nice..overall - don't think it's worth the money spent
Yes! I did eat a there and enjoy a beer then hot coffee! Variety of food and drink. nice backyard area for outdoor gatherings too!
Never has a bar been so exceptional in how medium it is. After several visits, I can say the food was impressively forgettable and the drinks overpriced but not offensively so. There's no sense of winning as a customer, although, I will admit, it instills a powerful curiosity in the customer as to why he -- or any of the other customers -- have landed upon this Twilight Zone-like alternative universe where everything is fine just above the threshold of complaint.
It's technically my local because it's only 1 block from me....but I haven't been there in nearly 5 years. Lots of TV screens to watch sports and a good selection of alcohol. Food has always been mediocre and bland....they need a better chef and a new menu. It's supposed to be a good restaurant but it tastes like regular bar food....they need to up their game.
First we were served the apps we ordered and the salad that came with our entrees all at the same time and my daughters meal came out along with it. Then a long wait between apps and entrees. I ordered a special and my husband ordered Fish and Chips from the menu. The batter was greasy while the fish was very dry. He also had to wait for tarter sauce 10 minutes after the food was brought out. Long story short, it seemed the kitchen was very unorganized. The hostess and waiter didn't have the best bedside manner either.
I was disappointed with the shepherds pie. The meat tasted vaguely of barbecue sauce, and the whole dish was rather bland. My wife had the Mac and cheese, and gave me a chance to taste it. The pasta was really al dente; I don't know if that's an NYC thing, or if the kitchen just puts minimum time into cooking stuff (the peas and carrots in my shepherds pie were very close to uncooked, which is weird for a baked dish). Service was good, they've got a good selection of drinks. I liked the atmosphere very much, it reminds me of my favorite pub in St Paul MN.
This place used to be a neighborhood staple, (I've lived here 18 years) but in the past year or two, something changed. They still make one of the best burgers in Queens but the prices shot up 50% and the portions got smaller. A LOT smaller. As in an ice-cream-scoop-size of mashed potatoes, or half a plate of burnt stubby leftover fries... I expect that from chains like Boston Market down the street, not neighborhood places like this. Copper Kettle used to give you overflowing plates like your mom was trying to fatten you up, but not anymore. I'd still pay the higher prices because the food is really that good but hey, if you're gonna charge, step up and stop acting like we're back in the Depression rationing food. Other than that the service is decent and the people are nice and you can always watch The Game on the screen at the bar.
Too pricey for the quality of the food that you get. Service was also a bit slow. I wouldn't go there for the food; just the drinks and the happy hour.
Very disappointed with Kettle bar/ restaurant. Service slow, none, bus boy show to a vacant table and there was quite a few empty table. Waited 30 mins for my food, had to ask the waiter what was the delay? Was told “Kitchen is busy”. They need to get their act together. Thumbs up for the busboy, appalling service for everyone else
The only thing giving this place two stars is the service. We went for brunch as a group five and was told that the kitchen wouldn’t make a meal on gluten free bread. After the meal was brought out (they never said it wasn’t gluten free), we asked about it and THEN the kitchen said they have nothing gluten free. Furthermore. FISH AND CHIPS. I was soooooo excited, but the batter was raw inside. The photo is RAW BATTER. Not fish. I feel bad because the server was so so sweet. It’s a shame the kitchen and restaurant aren’t focusing on their quality of food OR what customers are paying for. Will absolutely not be back.
-spouse got food poisoning from the fish and chips -chicken in the chicken curry was inedible. Sounded like you were eating celery. -use to go here every so often, but never again. -spare your health
Food is mediocre and the beer selection is uninteresting. The most offensive thing, however, is that throughout the pandemic there were just about always people standing around outside drinking beer without masks on. The restaurant didn’t seem interested in intervening in any way.
The worst service ever, the waitress never came back to ask if we needed anything. The food was mediocre, over priced. I had better food at McDonalds
RUN AWAY! I was excited about this place but the staff ruined this for me. Our waitress, Si, was incredibly rude and literally argued with us. When I asked to talk to the manager, they sent over another waiter who pretend to be the waiter until the real manager walked over, caught them in a lie and asked what was going on. Food took 45 mins to come out.
Visiting this establishment can only leave one rapt with one sentiment: utter disappointment. Given this restaurant’s previously known deft handling of their own time management, completing a customer’s request took 1 hour — instead of the 20 minutes that were promised — to complete our group’s order. And, once our group has received our desired dishes, we were left unsatisfied due to the poor quality of these dishes ranging from $13-20. This was due to the kitchen staff of this restaurant over-frying appetizers such as “Fried Calamari,” heightening oil usage for entrees such as “Tuscan Rigatoni,” and leaving out sauces for renowned sandwiches such as “The Reuben.” Optimally, it would be effective to avoid this establishment at all costs.
Ordered a beer from the bartender (tall guy with shaved head) He served the drink and let it sit there while he took care of other people. Basically made me wait extra time for no reason. He then finished serving the beer but ended up letting it spill all over the glass. Didn't clean it and then gave it to me. I asked him if he had something to clean it and he said he could only do what I could do which meant he expected me to clean his mess. I don't recommend the bar here. Pretty bad service for something so simple as serving a beer
We ordered 2 steak sandwiches. There were lots of things wrong with the food but when i found a hair in my sandwich, this trumps it all. When you have the privilege to own a business that serves people food, it is a responsibility to keep a sanitized kitchen. Just lost a customer!
Wow, this place has gone downhill. We came in on a week night and everything was lackluster. First, the server didn’t know what tullamore dew(Irish whiskey)was. Second, we ordered the burrata with prosciutto. Is was drenched in balsamic to the point that you couldn’t even eat it. I had the shepherds pie and it was fine, just fine. My partner had the bacon and cheddar Mac n cheese. This was overcooked noodles with a bit of cheese and a few burnt bacon crumbles on top. We actually thought it came from a box that they added bacon to. Seriously disappointing. I’ll go to one of the other great Irish pubs in the neighborhood next time.
Place needs a major makeover! Needs new pretty happy bartenders. Happy hour is not so happy prices! Its a great spot but a great place for young to lil older crowd. Blah
Saint Patrick’s day ordered corn beef and cabbage no potato extra veg for pick up … got a few slivers of corn beef and hardly any cabbage for 27.50. Back in the day bars used to give it out for free with triple the portion I received. Didn’t mind paying but really really cheap with portions… shameful.
