Girls day out! We found Fat ni BBQ and immediately were drawn in with the aroma of grilled cuisine. The menu was easy to read and wasn't hard to decide what we were going to try. There was a paper to mark our order and also had an added option for spicy too. I normally will add spice, but opted for the chilled sauce options instead. We tried a little bit of everything and were extremely satisfied with the service and the delicious treats and savory flavors. We'll be back with the rest of the family and have no doubt they will walk out with their bellies full and feelings of satisfaction.
I stopped by Fat ni BBQ yesterday for a casual visit and was honestly blown away. The skewers were incredibly good—freshly made, flavorful, and clearly prepared with care. You can really taste the quality and freshness in every bite. I went around 3 PM and the place was pretty quiet, which surprised me because the food deserves way more attention. If you’re looking for great skewers and a relaxed spot with excellent food, this place is absolutely worth visiting. I’ll definitely be back.
One of my new favorite places! The bbq skewers are delicious and perfectly seasoned! My recommendations are the Taiwanese sausage, lamb, and beef. We also ordered side dishes: oil spill noodles, bacon-wrapped mushroom, and green beans. Everything came out delicious. Service was efficient as well for our group! Will definitely be coming back.
I recently visited Fat Ni BBQ, and it definitely lived up to the hype. The restaurant specializes in Chinese street-style skewers, and the variety is impressive—everything from cumin lamb and pork belly to grilled squid and vegetables. The flavors are bold, especially the seasoning with cumin and chili, which makes the skewers taste authentic and addictive. The portions are generous, and it’s fun to order a bunch of different skewers to share. The menu also has noodles and other side dishes that pair well with the barbecue, making it feel like a complete meal rather than just snacks. The atmosphere is casual but lively, which works perfectly for a group outing or a laid-back dinner. Service was quick, and the skewers came out hot and fresh. Prices are reasonable considering the quality and variety. Overall, Fat Ni BBQ is a great spot if you’re craving something different from typical American barbecue. It brings the taste of Chinese night markets straight to Texas, and it’s a place I would definitely go back to with friends.
The skewers were packed with authentic cumin flavor. I tried their lamb and eggplant which are delicious. My friends had the cake, pork belly, and squid and were all satisfied. Food was affordable as well will late closing time which is great!!! The complaint I have is the restaurant is short staffed when the restaurant is fully packed. It was a little chaotic.
I recently visited this barbecue restaurant, and it was an absolute delight! The lamb skewers were exceptional tender, juicy, and perfectly seasoned. The chicken cartilage was crispy on the outside and succulent on the inside, bursting with flavor. The iron plate cabbage was another highlight, cooked to perfection with just the right amount of seasoning to enhance its crunchiness. Every dish had its own unique charm, making this place a must visit. Highly recommended!
Staff moves quickly but they don’t check up on you very much. I love the food. Skewers are fantastic, and they make veggies taste heavenly. My favorites are the lamb skewers and the hibachi cauliflower and hibachi broccoli. They have a house specialty spice mix that taste really good. They use a lot of cumin; normally dislike cumin and find it overpowering, but at Fat Ni there is something about the other spices that they mix it with that tastes amazing. Especially if you squeeze a bit of lemon on top of your food
First time here and we love their concept of serving meat on skewers. They also have some noodles and soups besides skewers. There is a sauce bar for you to customize as you like. I personally love the house special salt, so gooood. The food here is awesome. The meat is moist and soft. They are well seasoned and smells delicious, you can order the skewers either spicy or not spicy. There will be a paper menu so you can choose whatever you like. We have to wait a bit to order but after we ordered, the food is served pretty fast.
Skewers were decent, just wished they were a bit longer consistently like the pork was the longest and the enoki bacon was the shortest. Pork, beef, lamb skewers were the same price at $2.75 each, and the enoki bacon was $3.45
We had fun here, and the food was cooked well. My only thing is with the menu. Even my boyfriend who frequently eats this style of food struggled with the vagueness of the menu. But the food was served quickly and the staff was very thorough to ensure we had everything we wanted.
I really like the lamb skewer and oil spill noodles. The cabbage tasted great too. The chicken heart skewer and scallop skewer were disappointing. The pork belly skewer was alright. The chicken heart was dry, and the scallops were tiny. The oil spill noodles tasted great too. Their house spice is very spicy.
Great 'new' experience! Went here with a group after being recommended it - it was exciting up til we sat down in which we received water and some edamame and then were left to figure it out on our own. After we made selections we had to find someone to take our menu for preparing. The menu can be hard to garner how much food you will get per item, but it's able to be mostly worked out. The oil slick noodles, the wheat noodles were great accompanying all the meats, as was the pita bread. For skewers - I'd recommend the pork belly, lamb, and quail (although quite small). Also USE THE SAUCES for variety, they help as most meats all have the same aftertaste/profile.
I have seen this place for years now and finally got to try it. I don’t know what I expected but was sadly disappointed. I have not tried many skewer places so I’m not really sure what it’s suppose to taste like but it had a strong lighter fluid taste. You could see the chefs cooking it on a grill, so maybe it’s the seasoning that tastes like lighter fluid? Could just be us though, other tables did not seem to complain about it.
Unfortunately after being wowed by a video post i had to try this place. It was let down. My expectations were just too high. The food was ok. Nothing special but far from bad. I will say I was most surprised by the fried tofu - tasted like fries! Definitely give it a try just do not expect to be amazed.
Although the menu had a vast selection, it was not as clear of how much food would come with an order. Many of us ordered the recommended gizzard and lamb skewers but it was rather disappointing all were over cooked. Everyone seemed to fight to get the food off the skewers. I also had scallops, which were so tiny for the price, as well as the shrimp that were not deveined. Only food I did seem to enjoy were the vegetables. First time going and I would have thought it'd be nicer with the steady lunch hr.
Unfortunately, I Found a fly cooked on my skewer. This was very disappointing and concerning. I hope the restaurant addresses cleanliness and food safety standards, as they need improvement.
Came here with my family for my birthday and unfortunately had a very poor experience. We were never greeted when we walked in. Instead, a worker who was cleaning a table yelled across the completely empty restaurant telling us to sit at table 2. We did, but received no further direction. A man from the cash register came over, placed waters on the table without saying a word, and walked away. Both employees seemed visibly upset to be there. When he passed by again, we asked how to order or if a server would be helping us. With no eye contact, he just said to write what we wanted on a piece of paper. There was zero customer service or communication. We wrote down our order and waited, assuming someone would return or guide us. No one did. I eventually walked up to the cash register to hand him the paper. He didn’t look at me, practically snatched the paper from my hand, and tossed it next to him—no acknowledgment, no thank you, nothing. At that point, we decided to leave. The staff seemed confused and irritated that we walked out. I really wish I could have tried the food, but the lack of basic hospitality and respect makes this a place I would never recommend. We ended up at zhangs bistro, the service and food 10/10
The servers were nice, but we had no idea what to do, and never got an explanation. I do not understand if we did something wrong, in which I apologize for, but the food was genuinely a hard eat. The skewers were extremely chewy, and the seasoning on top of them was burnt. It tasted like charcoal. The bread was doughy in the middle, but tasted like lighter fluid. Again, we had no idea what to do, and everyone around us seemed to enjoy it and had no issues. So this could be our fault, but this was our experience.
