Opiniones de Brick & Beam Alameda
Great place to have a nice meal and a refreshing cocktail - the wait staff was terrific as they handle a sports team of probably 65 people who showed up without a reservation- kudos to them and the kitchen staff ! They never ignored my boyfriend and I as they tackled that crowd!
The bartender, Josh is great, quality drinks and great recommendations for Italian! Give this man a raise!
We came here just before heading back to the airport so we only had time to enjoy 1 drink each. The ambiance is sooo NICE. The staff is super friendly and the menu looked pretty awesome. Definitely gonna try to make it back during our next visit to SF!
My Husband and I stayed in the area, and wanted something quick before going back to the room for the night. We ordered a tap beer, the house Cabernet, and two appetizers: street tacos and chicken anchors. Both were great!! The chicken tacos were seasoned so Well! It was the perfect combo! Wait staff was good, they did nothing that turned us off. Brick & Beam is a nice causal place for a drink and some sports.
We went in for lunch and to watch the golf. Rick greeted us and was on the bar and he really looked after us. He found the channel we wanted and gave us this awesome speaker that played the sound from the TV we were watching. All round great experience from the minute we walked in the door. Good food and great drinks. Would recommend. Thanks Rick
Stayed across the street at another hotel, but I have been here several times. I had exceptional service, and have every intention of returning when I'm staying nearby. I had a very early morning ahead of me and relegated myself to soft drinks with dinner. In the past, that has typically resulted in slower service, and a little less attention. Even with the reduced bill, my server was attentive, and timely. The mussels, by all means get the mussels! Will be back, without question.
We visited three times during our stay at the hyatt centric, once for breakfast and twice for dinner. We didn't have any complaints either time. The food and drinks for dinner were delicious and breakfast hit the spot too.
A little more on the more refined side but good. The charcuterie was delicious and also the parm truffle fries! Beers a bit expensive. Bartender was very nice and attentive. Also they have a sound box if you want to hear a specific sports game.
Wonderful experience! Great service!!
Very nice bar and grill that's part of the Hyatt. Ordered the meatball appetiser as I was not that hungry. It was delicious and the sauce was definitely homemade with basil and it cane with garlic cheese toast. My husband ordered the Angus burger with mushrooms added and he was happy with it. Nice drinks and service. Would recommend.
The food is good. There is raw salmon which one waiter agreed to heat and give. There were no chicken options for the buffet for breakfast, however there were pork items, milk, cereal, fruits and breads. This restaurant is part of Hyatt Centric Fisherman wharf and is inside the hotel with an outdoor entrance as well. One waiter was kind enough to give paper napkins as well while other was not. The ambience is good. It appears to be a bit more expensive restaurant but it’s good if you have time to eat some food.
I got a beer and some truffle Fries. Beer was cold and seemed fresh, selection was pretty basic though. Fries were shoe string style and super crispy. Bartender was cool and recommended us where else to check out.
It was really very good. We both had a burger with fries. We were both full and it tasted great. The staff is very polite and it is very clean. Price-performance is good. Greetings Nadine from Germany :)
Absolutely fantastic in every possible aspect. The Steak Frites was one of the best steaks I have ever had. Our entire party was extremely pleased with every bite of food. Service for drinks and refills is a bit slower than I am used to but even with that being said everything was absolutely perfect. The Bay Breeze and Whiskey Sour they make are also perfection.
The food came out hot and the presentation beautiful. The flavor of my spaghetti and my clam chowder was unique very delicious. The ambiance was perfect. Sorta like a warehouse loft feeling. The cleanliness is impeccable and I have not seen a place in such perfect condition in a long time. This place is truly amazing.
We had dinner to go tonight and to speak for myself the spaghetti and meatballs were delicious I can’t wait to have that again. All the other food was amazing too. Looking forward to the breakfast buffet tomorrow morning. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
We were so hungry after our plane ride. We had a very pleasant meal with some awesome 70s music on a Tuesday afternoon. Looked like a nice place for drinks but we drank water. Our meals were good and satisfying.
Cynthia was awesome. She mixed us a couple cocktails and they were amazing. Told us about great places to visit and where to find great food around the wharf.
I came into Brick and Beam one day as I was passing by and noticed they were playing the superbowl and it looked like a nice place. They were pretty busy but managed to fit me in at a shared table. I ordered the clam chowder which was quite delicious and some fish and chips which was also good. Fish wasn't over battered and had great flavor and the fries were cooked to perfection. The executive chef was also out helping on the floor (which I thought was nice) and she was a delight to chat with. I would go back here again. Friendly atmosphere, good food and relaxed vibe.
I was lucky enough to visit this great place a few years ago when myself and the family visited San Francisco. The atmosphere was great, food was on point, and the beer plus multiple sports on tv was perfect.
Great food good drink went with my team and we had a great time
That’s excellent restaurant right across the street from where we were staying at the Holiday Inn. We got in a bit late so it worked out perfectly for us to have dinner over the brick and bean salad with salmon, the salmon with cooked perfectly. A tough thing for a lot of people to do without drying it out. My buddy ordered the fish and chips which was good. The atmosphere was great as it was not loud and we were able to have a comfortable conversation. They have a nice selection of beers on tap as well.
not a bad place to grab a quick bite! service is spotty and you may, or may not, get the beverage you ordered.
Atmosphere was perfect!!! Service was perfect. Food was hot, good and recommended. Go to this place and enjoy yourself. Boris and Etvin were on point. Ver attentive.
1st customer ar 4pm. Here for early dinner before taking a flight home. Very nice atmosphere, the high wooden beam ceiling WOW! A hidden GEM away from the hustle and bustle of the pier area.
I had three different meals here and they were all good. Forgot to take pictures of all three. I had a burger one time and it was great but not a huge one but plenty for me. Fries were perfect. I had the chicken thigh sandwich with a salad and that was all very tasty. Then I had the steak dinner which was good too. No wasted food which is fine for me and practical for their business model.
Had the Sesame crusted ahi salad, it was delicious! Busy around 8pm but staff made you feel at home. Very friendly!

Why the 3.9? Great service, strong drinks, solid bar food!! This was a great launchpad for my first night in SF and plan on being back! Look for Patrick, he’ll take care of you
Excellent food, had a burger and the meat was just perfect! My husband had the Chicken Sandwich which taste amazing.
We went for two breakfasts and a dinner here and the ladies of the night/dinner crew were the BEST! So attentive and friendly. We really felt looked after. The gentlemen of the morning crew were less friendly and far less attentive on both mornings. They have a decent happy hour. All the entrees we ordered were a good amount of food for a competitive price. The actual location is very cozy, feels higher end and there is music and some screens playing various games. They could encourage the morning crew to keep a better energy and level of service but overall really great location, food and experience.
Best tomato soup I’ve had. It’s kinda my thing, soups all over the world. This one is now #1 !!! Husband had excellent fish tacos. Right across from Holiday Inn Express; very convenient.

I enjoyed my meal here, nice atmosphere and cool surroundings. Great service by fast efficient staff. I had the chicken burger which was tasty and served with a boat load of fries. Could have done with a happy hour for the drinks though as it worked out quite expensive. Overall very good though, would definitely go back if I’m ever in 5he city again.
Very nice restaurant bar. Ordered berry salad with roasted chicken, poke bowl and NY cheesecake with fresh berries. The food was prepared quite quick and we took it to our room and they included everything needed such as napkins, forks and knives. This restaurant is in the same building as our hotel Hyatt at fisherman's wharf.
The ahi tuna poke and the chicken and herb flatbread were amazing and so was the service. The cocktails were a little on the overly strong side. Just a tad less alcohol would have made them amazing also.
Solid pub food and several nice beers and cocktails. Much better than the holiday inn across the street, but the rooms there are cheaper than the Hyatt. So get a room at the holiday inn, eat at brick and bream, and catch a game while you’re there.
The food was great and the service was on point. We had a long day and just wanted to sit down and relax and have a beer or cocktail. I would definitely come back and have the chicken sandwich it was amazing. Go Chicago!
Came here for an early dinner after a long, lunchless, day. Service was pleasant but a touch slow. Drinks came out as expected but food took a little longer. Wasn't much of an issue because there was a nice atmosphere to relax and take in. Food was tasty and hot and prices weren't that bad.
Nice place attached to the Hyatt so a bit more expensive. Good food tho, calamari had GF batter which was nice. Shrimp pasta I had was great with glavour and Good portions. Frosted.mugs for my beer 🍺 is always a win.
Closest thing resembling a sports bar in Fisherman's Wharf. This is a good place to have a drink & watch your team play if you're visiting Fisherman's Wharf. The food is pretty good and decently priced, though I think they try to make it fancy beyond their capabilities in the kitchen. The bar is pretty good, thought they could improve their beer selection.
Me and my fiancée had dinner there and it was open seating. We was then greeted by one of the waitress. She was very kind and attentive. The Alcatraz Amber was very good and my fiancée had the Karl. Both excellent. We shared the clam chowder and pizza. Prices for our meal and drinks was a lil high, but then the experience was very pleasant. Oh we met a humble and kind traveler from Australia with his daughter who was passing thru on their way to New York. Wanted to buy him a beer but he declined due to being out with his daughter. It was so kool meeting someone so far away. Good way to end our outing there
Had a very nice evening meal here. You can order a variety of starters or just a main meal and the house cocktails are excellent. Juan looked after our table & service was brisk and attentive. Definitely a go to place in the Fisherman's Wharf area.
Food was fine, drinks were pretty good. Everything is a bit pricey as a result of the location, but not a bad option in the area. Pleasant decor and TVs to watch the game
Wonderful bar that is connected to the Hyatt Centric in the Wharf. Staff was attentive for the most part, and the food and beer selection was excellent. The pulled pork sliders came out hot and tasted fresh as well. The bar itself is well lit and is perfect for groups - the set up would actually even make it great for a function/event. There are also many televisions around the restaurant. Only downside was the price, and understandably was worth the money, but a bit steeper than I was able to find around the area.
Located within the Hyatt Hotel on North Point Street, this sports bar was a great place to stop within upon arriving in San Fransisco late evening on a weekday. Service was great and they will receive folks into the establishment even past closing hours. Best bowl of clam chowder we’ve had in SF and served super hot! We also had Ahi Tuna Poke, Spaghetti and Meatballs, Cesar Salad, Buffalo Chicken Wings and plenty of beer. Lots of beer and spirit selections. Family friendly with great vibe. Wheelchair accessible and large TV screens within. Worth stopping by for.
I liked it! Stopped for a quick dinner prior to heading out to a venue. Food was good and prices were reasonable. The restaurant itself is very impressive with high ceilings, post and beam construction with lots of wood and leather. The ambiance is up scale so I would recommend dressing nice. Worth a visit.
For a restaurant attached to a hotel I was pleasantly surprised by the food. Service is good and efficient, food comes out relatively quickly and the food is fresh, salads fresh and all had good flavour. Have been back since the first time so had to be good! Calamari is yum and so are the meatballs.
Didn’t want to deal with all the crowds and tourists Found this restaurant near our hotel, we got in right away. Service was very attentive and food was delish. We had drinks, calamari, bowl of clam chowder and shared the grilled chicken sandwich. I’ll be back!
This is a cool-looking place, with wood, brick and iron decor, and the service was fast and friendly. They have a happy hour with discounted food and drinks, and they have draft Guinness, which is always a plus. As you would expect for a hotel restaurant, the food is fine without being remarkable, and the prices are higher than the quality and experience warrant. We weren't disappointed, but nor were we particularly impressed.
Everyone enjoyed their meals but nothing was exceptional. Service was friendly and efficient. Food arrived very quickly. Atmosphere was pleasant.
Average bar next to a hotel. I went with the Short Rib Ragu, tasty but not memorable. Guys next to me had wings and a pizza, typical bar fare.
Came here for a quick dinner to meet some people who are staying at the hotel. It was actually quite good for a hotel restaurant. Some elements of the food were really good but others were just missing something. Husband and I shared a Grilled Chicken Melt - really love the flavor combination going on there. Good chicken breast that was not too dry too dry, combined with the salty crispy bacon And avocado and pesto.. Love that combination! Asked for a side Caesar salad instead of fries. It was a good call. Quite a big potion size on that salad as well to be honest! Someone ordered the chicken Caesar salad on the table and it was about double the size of this one and look like a decent amount of food. Friend got the Grilled Chicken Melt with the fries and oh my gosh that was a lot of fries! Enough price for about three people I think! Side note: the fries were actually really nice and crispy! Fried chicken thigh just look like it was a bit too too oily. Fish in the fish and chips Also seemed the same. Also had the Falafel with the pita bread and tzatziki. Falafel was quite flavorful and went well with that tzatziki sauce. Pita was very fresh and soft and tasted good even the next day! The drinks they made were actually quite strong as well!
Came here for a dinner. We got 3 drinks, 3 apps and 1 flatbread. The hummus is overpriced for the quantity, I’d avoid. The flatbread wasn’t anything special. The fries were a great quantity and quality. The sweet chili wings were the best thing that we tried.

Food was decent but not exceptional. Burger was well cooked with lots of flavor, onion bacon jam was incredible (we also added egg). Only gave 4 stars because the flatbread was not very good - pretty flavorless pizza sauce. Good place to watch sports.

Restaurant (related to Hyatt Hotels?) with big tv sports screens. Just wanted a quick bite and a beer. Went for the pepperoni pizza. Thin crust. Not bad. But the edges were burnt which spoils the whole taste. How difficult can it be to serve a nice pizza? When I pointed this out, the server just politely smiled. Does not give much confidence in their kitchen to try something else.
The burger was very large but the toppings left a lot to be desired and it had no sauce. I didn't really enjoy my meal but my server was wonderful.
Pub/Restaurant attached to the Hyatt so pretty much what you would expect, a little overpriced lacking in atmosphere but convenient if staying in the hotel or close by. Had the Fish and chips which was a mistake, batter overcooked and rubbery cod pieces. Staff were polite and attentive.
The kids grilled cheese and the Flatbread pizzas were good. The burger and the steak frites were super bland. I liked the Norcal drink. The double whiskey I ordered was very liberal. The high cost of the food was a bit of a turn off, I don't feel I got what I paid for but that might just be California.
I had a pepperoni pizza and Americano coffee with some chocolate cake. I think the preparation of the pizza can be better & can improve. The cake could be fresher and chocolatey. Coffee was very good. Also I prefer being served by just "one" attentive person. I liked the overall atmosphere. Fewer TV or shut off TV at lunch time would be nicer.
We happen to be staying at the Hyatt over night and we opted to eat at this restaurant for dinner. We were greeted at the door and told to sit wherever we would like. We sat near the window because of the ocean view. We ordered just in time to make the 7:00pm cut off for happy hour all the menu ideas were half price. We ordered the pork sliders and quesadilla. The pork sliders did not come with any sides and anything other than pork on the sliders so they were a bit dry. The quesadilla was large and very good. The prices were a bit high, but that is was I expected in a high price hotel like the Hyatt. Over all the service was great, the food was good, and for happy hour the price was right.
Food was quite good. Female servers were lovely. Male server Patrick was surly and seemed happier to serve male guests
Food is certainly good, but service leaves a lot to be desired. Slow overall. My wife ordered a margarita and it came full of ice in a glass the size of a whiskey glass. MAYBE 1.5 ounces of liquid in the entire drink, and it was $13! Ambiance is poor, tables are crowded together and it feels congested and uncomfortable. The food, as mentioned, is good, but does not save my recommendation overall. Maybe order it to-go, but avoid the price-gouged drinks.
The restaurant has a cool ambience. I tried the fish and chips.. the fries were good. Seasoned just right, however, the fish wasn't worth it. Flavorless and chewy. The wife got the cheeseburger, which she said was good. High priced. I'm giving it 3 stars because the food came out almost immediately, and the servers were good. Would've given 4 stars, but the fish killed that, along with the price.
Good food, service not so much. Felt like I was interrupting their day.
This is a beautiful building in a great location. The food is average. I ordered a medium rare steak that was cooked medium well. The clam chowder bowls are mostly bread and potatoes. They were out of several menu items.
Nice little restaurant, close to our hotel. It wasn't busy when we went, so we were seated right away. The place was clean, friendly staff. The food was delicious, the drinks were great, and prices seemed decent for that area.
My wife and I were at this restaurant because it was next to our hotel (Hyatt Centric Fisherman's Wharf). The atmosphere of the place was chill and laid back. Its brick walls brought a warm and comfortable feel. We had garlic fries (appetizer), chicken melt with a salad (entrée), and Angus beef burger with a salad (grass feed). Overall, the food was a little above average. The waiter(s) was friendly and professional. You have to sit yourself, but it was fine finding a table.

Atmosphere is great. You can watch games if you want a true bar experience or have a cozy table in a corner. Food is pretty good when they don’t run out of simple things like salad. I had the chicken sandwich, Nothing to write home about but pretty good for a standard chicken sandwich and definitely good for a convenience factor .Service is not great. I was staying for work and the first night one of the servers and the bartender were getting into a fight (While I was sitting there) Over the new menu and new drinks. The second time I went, the bartender, Josh, acted like I was a burden for being at the establishment and ordering. Overall, it served the need for easy and convenient but I wouldn’t recommend

The food was good enough (a bit overpriced for what it was...that's eating at a hotel restaurant for ya), but the service was AWFUL! Our server seemed to just disappear for 20-30 minutes at a time, he forgot things we had ordered, and we had to approach HIM to ask for the check...wouldn't go back.
This place was underwhelming. Really pretty restaurant, and the menu looked promising. Ordered a flat bread and while the bread of the flat bread was good, the chicken was not - it seemed like cheap precut in perfect rectangles chicken you would get at a grocery store in the deli refrigerated section. Their drinks were expensive. Two of the other three people in my party were slightly disappointed by the avacado in their sandwich or the shrimp in their salad which wasn't cleaned well prior to serving. I would not return to this restaurant if I were visiting the Wharf again.
When we first arrived for our stay in San Francisco the hotel restaurant was not open late; so it was recommended that we go to Knuckles. The decor is nice and it is spacious. We only had an appetizer, which was good, but I can't really rate the food. We had beer and wine. The gentlemen was friendly enough but basically kicked us out 15 minutes before close. I guess because he wanted to go home. It wasn't even midnight and we had to chug the wine and leave. What a joke...who does that? Wouldn't go here ever again.
The place is very nice and modern. Lighting and atmosphere is great. Menu is weak. Tomato soup literally tasted like pasta sauce. Clam chowder was not great compared to competition in the area. Fried chicken was soggy.
They didnt have ingredients for like half of their cocktails. The service was slow but there was a table of like 15 that insisted on their check being split 15 ways so that bogged the whole restaurant down... the garlic parm fries were super mid and the meatball plate had a half spaghetti noodle stuck to one of the meatballs which makes me think it was pulled off someones plate... the garlic parm fries were pretty mid. All the topping was scooped onto the middle of the fries rather than tossing the fries into it. Lots of room for improvement.
I can usually count on Hyatt hotel restaurants to be at least decent, but the food here was sad. The service is fine, I sat at the bar so no complaints there. The fish & chips, on the other hand, was worse than anything you could get in an airport. The executive chef is proudly named on the menu, I think he needs to come by and try what is coming out of his kitchen. The fries were underfried and the fish was overdone brown and crunchy, with no flavor other than the aioli that comes with it.
Service was horrible. The hostess that sat us walked past us 15 times, before we realized she was also our server. Took 20 min to greet us. She didn't know how to multi task. The meatballs we're absolutely disgusting. They had large hard rubbery pieces of fat, like 95% of it we're these rubber balls. It was just a miserable experience.
Saw lots of positive reviews & maybe that’s for dinner. This restaurant says it’s not open other than dinner, but it actually doubles as a breakfast place in the morning. We were Hyatt guests so decided to go for convenient breakfast option & sincerely wished we hadn’t. Menu options are so-so, but we knew that going in. Reason for 1 star is entirely service related. A slightly older gentleman initially greeted us and brought coffee & menus, but then an older woman took over. We barely saw her. Like we waited 10+ mins to place our order, got our food eventually delivered by someone else (COLD & super hard toast, the rest was fine). Sat with empty coffee cups because she never asked us for refills - we had to flag her down & even then she didn’t do it for another few mins and then yelled across the restaurant to have a younger girl do it for her, which felt awkward for the younger employee & us since she basically was firmly speaking across our table. Our waitress came by at the very end to drop off our check, never even checked to ask how things were. We left like a 5% tip which I’ve never done in my life. There’s a reason there’s open tables here when there’s a line across the street at Hollywood Cafe - wait in line hah.
Terrible! How does someone mess up an Impossible Burger so badly??? It was unrecognizable, and honestly, I'm not even sure it WAS an Impossible burger , but some type of patty smashed to a thin , tough, horrible slab. The fries also were greasy, over-seasoned, and limp. I would never eat here again if I can avoid it.
I pride myself on being polite and respectful. I was shocked at the horrible attitude we received from our server last night. I stay at the hotel often and visit Brick and Beam when I do. Despite the lovely atmosphere and familiarity this gentlemen made us feel completely unwelcome. I will ensure I do not sit in his section again. His eye rolling, grunting, rude gestures and curtness were totally unacceptable.
Sat down and waited for 15 minutes without being greeted. Place was not particularly busy but we seemed invisible to the waiters. Both of them passed by our table several times without any recognition. There was also a really drunk guy that could barely stand up so on the plus side they will serve you until you have to have your kids carry you out of the building.
Now, you're probably here reading this because you're thinking of eating here at Brick and Beam. Maybe you're staying at the nearby hotels, maybe there's a game on, maybe you don't feel like going too far, and the other reviews haven't done their part to scare you off yet. You might be thinking to yourself "Well, it's right here, and there aren't many sports bars near Pier 39, and it looks kind of fancy, how bad could it be? Surely these reviewers are overreacting." Well let me tell you just how bad it actually could be. (There is a TL;DR at the end). This is a tale of caution, as myself and my co-workers were right in your shoes while we were here in the beautiful San Francisco Bay area. We caved, ignored the reviews, threw caution to the wind, and decided to watch Game 5 of the Warriors/Cavs finals here. Big mistake. We sit down, and were immediately greeted not with malice, but with sheer indifference, as the maître d' ignored us completely, as we were urged by a plain sign to find our own seats, which we promptly did. Ten to fifteen minutes later, our waiter came over and was incredibly rude off the bat. Explained to us why he REALLY did not feel like splitting up our meal onto separate checks, even though it WAS something that they were able to do. He so curtly put it "We'll just do whatever it is you want at the end, what do you want to eat?" Well, after that, we ordered our food from the menu, which was ridiculously pricey, but it IS San Francisco, so we just went with it. Maybe the food would be good after all! Myself and my coworker got the Mary's Fried Chicken with mashed potatoes and "seasonal vegetables." $29. My other coworker got the $16 Truffle and Mushroom personal flat bread pizza, about 7 inches in diameter. Another got a $14 moldy, stale cheese platter and a $18 burger (upon which they forgot to add bacon, even though we were charged for it). Our food came out a while later as we enjoyed the game. My coworker took a bite of his pizza which he then quickly pushed it away, as it tasted like they soaked it in bathwater, which we all confirmed as we tasted it. Somehow this place made a bad pizza, which I heretofore thought to be impossible. Now back to the Mary's $29 Fried Chicken, mashed potatoes, and "seasonal vegetables." The mashed potatoes were actually French fries. The "seasonal vegetables" were 4 small steamed, unseasoned, asparagus sticks. The chicken itself was more akin to children's chicken fingers. There were two chicken fingers, about 3 inches long. It felt more like a TV dinner doused in salt than a $29 meal. I sacrificed one of my chicken fingers so that my coworker could actually eat food, since his pizza was simply inedible. We thought the other reviews were exaggerating, but they were not. This is quite simply the worst restaurant in San Francisco. Do not go here. Do not drink here. It is not a good time. Stay in your room and watch the game, maybe order room service or walk to In N Out around the corner. This place is ABSOLUTELY wretched. The service, the seating, the food, all some of the worst I've ever had to suffer through. Please reconsider. Do not give these people money. I felt disgusted that I had to tip these people, they did not deserve a cent. You could get a better meal and service by eating some leftovers off of the trays people leave on the floor outside their rooms when they're done with the room service. TL;DR: Location 7/10 Food 0/10 Service -3/10 DO NOT EAT HERE. EVER. I SINCERELY REGRET THAT MY REVIEW LEAD TO THEM RECEIVING EVEN ONE STAR. I WISH I COULD TAKE STARS AWAY FROM THEIR CURRENT RATING. THEY SHOULD BE ASHAMED.
We never got to taste the food because we never got seated. There were 4 people in the restaurant part where we enetered. After five mins someone greeted us to tell us to go to another spot and the lady would seat us. We went to the other spot and waited but no one showed up. Went to a third spot where the menu was and a stand, waited and no one still came. We just left because apparently they are doing so well they didn’t need our business. Another lousy experience.
We were very disappointed I had spaghetti and meatballs it was nothing more than spaghetti with bland tomato sauce on it with a couple meatballs. There was no salt and pepper at the table. My wife had the shrimp and pasta she said it was bland with rubbery shrimp. The waitress was rude instead of leading us to our seat she just pointed we had to guess until we got it right then never checked on us after the food came. We paid $70 after tip. This is the only time after traveling the US and the world I gave a $2 tip I ALWAYS tip well. We definitely wouldn't go back and by the looks of the others eating they didn't like it either.
Food was ok, but nothing special. But foreigners be careful. This restaurant made several unusual things with us. 1. I did not get the bill prior to paying. Very unusual in the US. Even when I asked for I did not get the bill. Answer was pay then I print it. I asked for the tip. He mentioned 18% is included. I did not want to make a discussion. 18% was ok, I would have given 20% usually. Finally I paid. 2. Then the big surprise. They have charged another 5% to SF Healthy what I found out later is something like a pension fund for employees. I asked what this is. Answer this is a standard SF City tax. This was a lie what I found out when I asked at my hotel later. Means foreigners be careful this restaurant tends to cheat.
We arrived to Brick and Beam yesterday, 9/15 to have dinner. We were seated right away by a petite Asian lady who gestured from afar if it was 3 of us. We were seated but there was no hello, no greetings of any kind. We ordered our wine. Another gentleman stopped to ask if we ordered drinks to which we replied yes, and he took off quickly. Wine was brought to us, with 3 glasses, the bottle was placed on the table and she left. She did not open it and let it us taste it, or served us. Good thing it was a twist off. No one offered us water. We placed our food order. Hummus, and two clam chowder bowls. Menus were taken from us without asking if we were going to have more food. The food arrived around 20 minutes later, which considering that these are pre made items, it was a long time. The hummus was not tasty at all. The chowder was decent and chunky but it didn't taste homemade. On top of that, no one came to check on us after food was served. Servers will walk by but not make eye contact until I finally stood by the podium and the lady came to me. I told her that we wanted the check and that no one came to check on us or give us water. She told me that we did not ask for water. I thought that was part of the service, to ask if we want water. The bill was accurate, and the tip reflected the service we received. This is not the first time for us at Brick and Beam. We left very disappointed. PS. The bottle of wine we ordered was a Sonoma Cutrer Russian River and we received a Sonoma Coast one. We were charged for the Russian River one.
This restaurant illegally charges customers! We are tourists visiting the city, The prices were a bit high but seemed on par with the city. When the bill came we discovered that a « service fee » was being applied, it represented approximately 15% of the bill without previous mention of it. We paid not really knowing what it was about. After a quick research, I found out that this service fee should not be applied since July 1st. So this restaurant illegally charges customers! Btw food was very average, my wife couldn’t finish her salad which was way too salted.
slowest service I ever encountered. sorry, but you need to do better.
This was by far one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had in awhile. The food was below hospital food. We had the Mac and cheese with bacon, how is it greasy but also dry at the same time? It tasted like burnt tires. The corn and crab chowder was liquid and that’s about all I can say on that one. They had nice furniture and the bartender was pleasant.
I spend 3 nts a week in sfo on business. I run out of favorite spots so I try something new. Stopped in here for a beer and burger. Sit at the bar. Bartender is in bad mood both to customers and coworkers. I grab his attn by starting 'Not urgent but when you have a chance...' his response was 'wait your turn Pal, I have a lot in front of you!' Clearly annoyed with my existence eating there, I left and will never go back. Mgmt either trains for that crap or allows it.. avoid this place!
