I came into Brick and Beam one day as I was passing by and noticed they were playing the superbowl and it looked like a nice place. They were pretty busy but managed to fit me in at a shared table. I ordered the clam chowder which was quite delicious and some fish and chips which was also good. Fish wasn't over battered and had great flavor and the fries were cooked to perfection. The executive chef was also out helping on the floor (which I thought was nice) and she was a delight to chat with. I would go back here again. Friendly atmosphere, good food and relaxed vibe.
I was lucky enough to visit this great place a few years ago when myself and the family visited San Francisco. The atmosphere was great, food was on point, and the beer plus multiple sports on tv was perfect.
Great food good drink went with my team and we had a great time
That’s excellent restaurant right across the street from where we were staying at the Holiday Inn. We got in a bit late so it worked out perfectly for us to have dinner over the brick and bean salad with salmon, the salmon with cooked perfectly. A tough thing for a lot of people to do without drying it out. My buddy ordered the fish and chips which was good. The atmosphere was great as it was not loud and we were able to have a comfortable conversation. They have a nice selection of beers on tap as well.
not a bad place to grab a quick bite! service is spotty and you may, or may not, get the beverage you ordered.
Atmosphere was perfect!!! Service was perfect. Food was hot, good and recommended. Go to this place and enjoy yourself. Boris and Etvin were on point. Ver attentive.
1st customer ar 4pm. Here for early dinner before taking a flight home. Very nice atmosphere, the high wooden beam ceiling WOW! A hidden GEM away from the hustle and bustle of the pier area.
I had three different meals here and they were all good. Forgot to take pictures of all three. I had a burger one time and it was great but not a huge one but plenty for me. Fries were perfect. I had the chicken thigh sandwich with a salad and that was all very tasty. Then I had the steak dinner which was good too. No wasted food which is fine for me and practical for their business model.
Had the Sesame crusted ahi salad, it was delicious! Busy around 8pm but staff made you feel at home. Very friendly!

Why the 3.9? Great service, strong drinks, solid bar food!! This was a great launchpad for my first night in SF and plan on being back! Look for Patrick, he’ll take care of you
Excellent food, had a burger and the meat was just perfect! My husband had the Chicken Sandwich which taste amazing.
We went for two breakfasts and a dinner here and the ladies of the night/dinner crew were the BEST! So attentive and friendly. We really felt looked after. The gentlemen of the morning crew were less friendly and far less attentive on both mornings. They have a decent happy hour. All the entrees we ordered were a good amount of food for a competitive price. The actual location is very cozy, feels higher end and there is music and some screens playing various games. They could encourage the morning crew to keep a better energy and level of service but overall really great location, food and experience.
Best tomato soup I’ve had. It’s kinda my thing, soups all over the world. This one is now #1 !!! Husband had excellent fish tacos. Right across from Holiday Inn Express; very convenient.

I enjoyed my meal here, nice atmosphere and cool surroundings. Great service by fast efficient staff. I had the chicken burger which was tasty and served with a boat load of fries. Could have done with a happy hour for the drinks though as it worked out quite expensive. Overall very good though, would definitely go back if I’m ever in 5he city again.
Didn’t want to deal with all the crowds and tourists Found this restaurant near our hotel, we got in right away. Service was very attentive and food was delish. We had drinks, calamari, bowl of clam chowder and shared the grilled chicken sandwich. I’ll be back!
Very nice restaurant bar. Ordered berry salad with roasted chicken, poke bowl and NY cheesecake with fresh berries. The food was prepared quite quick and we took it to our room and they included everything needed such as napkins, forks and knives. This restaurant is in the same building as our hotel Hyatt at fisherman's wharf.
This is a cool-looking place, with wood, brick and iron decor, and the service was fast and friendly. They have a happy hour with discounted food and drinks, and they have draft Guinness, which is always a plus. As you would expect for a hotel restaurant, the food is fine without being remarkable, and the prices are higher than the quality and experience warrant. We weren't disappointed, but nor were we particularly impressed.
Everyone enjoyed their meals but nothing was exceptional. Service was friendly and efficient. Food arrived very quickly. Atmosphere was pleasant.
Average bar next to a hotel. I went with the Short Rib Ragu, tasty but not memorable. Guys next to me had wings and a pizza, typical bar fare.
Came here for a quick dinner to meet some people who are staying at the hotel. It was actually quite good for a hotel restaurant. Some elements of the food were really good but others were just missing something. Husband and I shared a Grilled Chicken Melt - really love the flavor combination going on there. Good chicken breast that was not too dry too dry, combined with the salty crispy bacon And avocado and pesto.. Love that combination! Asked for a side Caesar salad instead of fries. It was a good call. Quite a big potion size on that salad as well to be honest! Someone ordered the chicken Caesar salad on the table and it was about double the size of this one and look like a decent amount of food. Friend got the Grilled Chicken Melt with the fries and oh my gosh that was a lot of fries! Enough price for about three people I think! Side note: the fries were actually really nice and crispy! Fried chicken thigh just look like it was a bit too too oily. Fish in the fish and chips Also seemed the same. Also had the Falafel with the pita bread and tzatziki. Falafel was quite flavorful and went well with that tzatziki sauce. Pita was very fresh and soft and tasted good even the next day! The drinks they made were actually quite strong as well!
Came here for a dinner. We got 3 drinks, 3 apps and 1 flatbread. The hummus is overpriced for the quantity, I’d avoid. The flatbread wasn’t anything special. The fries were a great quantity and quality. The sweet chili wings were the best thing that we tried.

Food was decent but not exceptional. Burger was well cooked with lots of flavor, onion bacon jam was incredible (we also added egg). Only gave 4 stars because the flatbread was not very good - pretty flavorless pizza sauce. Good place to watch sports.

Food is certainly good, but service leaves a lot to be desired. Slow overall. My wife ordered a margarita and it came full of ice in a glass the size of a whiskey glass. MAYBE 1.5 ounces of liquid in the entire drink, and it was $13! Ambiance is poor, tables are crowded together and it feels congested and uncomfortable. The food, as mentioned, is good, but does not save my recommendation overall. Maybe order it to-go, but avoid the price-gouged drinks.
The restaurant has a cool ambience. I tried the fish and chips.. the fries were good. Seasoned just right, however, the fish wasn't worth it. Flavorless and chewy. The wife got the cheeseburger, which she said was good. High priced. I'm giving it 3 stars because the food came out almost immediately, and the servers were good. Would've given 4 stars, but the fish killed that, along with the price.
Restaurant (related to Hyatt Hotels?) with big tv sports screens. Just wanted a quick bite and a beer. Went for the pepperoni pizza. Thin crust. Not bad. But the edges were burnt which spoils the whole taste. How difficult can it be to serve a nice pizza? When I pointed this out, the server just politely smiled. Does not give much confidence in their kitchen to try something else.
Good food, service not so much. Felt like I was interrupting their day.
This is a beautiful building in a great location. The food is average. I ordered a medium rare steak that was cooked medium well. The clam chowder bowls are mostly bread and potatoes. They were out of several menu items.
Nice little restaurant, close to our hotel. It wasn't busy when we went, so we were seated right away. The place was clean, friendly staff. The food was delicious, the drinks were great, and prices seemed decent for that area.
My wife and I were at this restaurant because it was next to our hotel (Hyatt Centric Fisherman's Wharf). The atmosphere of the place was chill and laid back. Its brick walls brought a warm and comfortable feel. We had garlic fries (appetizer), chicken melt with a salad (entrée), and Angus beef burger with a salad (grass feed). Overall, the food was a little above average. The waiter(s) was friendly and professional. You have to sit yourself, but it was fine finding a table.

Atmosphere is great. You can watch games if you want a true bar experience or have a cozy table in a corner. Food is pretty good when they don’t run out of simple things like salad. I had the chicken sandwich, Nothing to write home about but pretty good for a standard chicken sandwich and definitely good for a convenience factor .Service is not great. I was staying for work and the first night one of the servers and the bartender were getting into a fight (While I was sitting there) Over the new menu and new drinks. The second time I went, the bartender, Josh, acted like I was a burden for being at the establishment and ordering. Overall, it served the need for easy and convenient but I wouldn’t recommend

I can usually count on Hyatt hotel restaurants to be at least decent, but the food here was sad. The service is fine, I sat at the bar so no complaints there. The fish & chips, on the other hand, was worse than anything you could get in an airport. The executive chef is proudly named on the menu, I think he needs to come by and try what is coming out of his kitchen. The fries were underfried and the fish was overdone brown and crunchy, with no flavor other than the aioli that comes with it.
Food was ok, but nothing special. But foreigners be careful. This restaurant made several unusual things with us. 1. I did not get the bill prior to paying. Very unusual in the US. Even when I asked for I did not get the bill. Answer was pay then I print it. I asked for the tip. He mentioned 18% is included. I did not want to make a discussion. 18% was ok, I would have given 20% usually. Finally I paid. 2. Then the big surprise. They have charged another 5% to SF Healthy what I found out later is something like a pension fund for employees. I asked what this is. Answer this is a standard SF City tax. This was a lie what I found out when I asked at my hotel later. Means foreigners be careful this restaurant tends to cheat.
We arrived to Brick and Beam yesterday, 9/15 to have dinner. We were seated right away by a petite Asian lady who gestured from afar if it was 3 of us. We were seated but there was no hello, no greetings of any kind. We ordered our wine. Another gentleman stopped to ask if we ordered drinks to which we replied yes, and he took off quickly. Wine was brought to us, with 3 glasses, the bottle was placed on the table and she left. She did not open it and let it us taste it, or served us. Good thing it was a twist off. No one offered us water. We placed our food order. Hummus, and two clam chowder bowls. Menus were taken from us without asking if we were going to have more food. The food arrived around 20 minutes later, which considering that these are pre made items, it was a long time. The hummus was not tasty at all. The chowder was decent and chunky but it didn't taste homemade. On top of that, no one came to check on us after food was served. Servers will walk by but not make eye contact until I finally stood by the podium and the lady came to me. I told her that we wanted the check and that no one came to check on us or give us water. She told me that we did not ask for water. I thought that was part of the service, to ask if we want water. The bill was accurate, and the tip reflected the service we received. This is not the first time for us at Brick and Beam. We left very disappointed. PS. The bottle of wine we ordered was a Sonoma Cutrer Russian River and we received a Sonoma Coast one. We were charged for the Russian River one.
This restaurant illegally charges customers! We are tourists visiting the city, The prices were a bit high but seemed on par with the city. When the bill came we discovered that a « service fee » was being applied, it represented approximately 15% of the bill without previous mention of it. We paid not really knowing what it was about. After a quick research, I found out that this service fee should not be applied since July 1st. So this restaurant illegally charges customers! Btw food was very average, my wife couldn’t finish her salad which was way too salted.
slowest service I ever encountered. sorry, but you need to do better.
Service was horrible. The hostess that sat us walked past us 15 times, before we realized she was also our server. Took 20 min to greet us. She didn't know how to multi task. The meatballs we're absolutely disgusting. They had large hard rubbery pieces of fat, like 95% of it we're these rubber balls. It was just a miserable experience.
This was by far one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had in awhile. The food was below hospital food. We had the Mac and cheese with bacon, how is it greasy but also dry at the same time? It tasted like burnt tires. The corn and crab chowder was liquid and that’s about all I can say on that one. They had nice furniture and the bartender was pleasant.
I spend 3 nts a week in sfo on business. I run out of favorite spots so I try something new. Stopped in here for a beer and burger. Sit at the bar. Bartender is in bad mood both to customers and coworkers. I grab his attn by starting 'Not urgent but when you have a chance...' his response was 'wait your turn Pal, I have a lot in front of you!' Clearly annoyed with my existence eating there, I left and will never go back. Mgmt either trains for that crap or allows it.. avoid this place!
