Big fan of Ladle & Leaf - it's my go-to food for flights. My favorite is the Thai Peanut Chicken Salad with Avocado - healthy and delicious! Located in the food court area of Terminal 3 near F Gates. Generally pretty quick, unless there's a long line. They have a wide variety of soups, salads, and sandwiches, as well as coffee, tea, and other drinks. Note like every place at SFO, they charge $0.25 for a bag, so consider bringing your own. That said, airlines always seem to allow SFO-issued food bags as a third carry on item, so sometimes it's actually better to pay the $0.25 to avoid hassle at the gate. PS - I'm pretty sure there was an entry for Ladle & Leaf with reviews, but it seems to have disappeared, not sure how/why.
Excellent service! The woman at the checkout this morning was incredibly friendly. It’s always a pleasant surprise to receive such great service at the airport and the food was good too!
Thank goodness for this place! I got a large Peruvian chicken and rice soup for lunch and it was just what I needed. I even came back for more soup (chicken noodle) for dinner. Nourishing, tasty and reasonably priced. I also enjoyed their freshly squeezed orange juice and an Americano. Thank you Ladle & Leaf for making my day at the airport tolerable!
Food was good and fast. I think less than 1 min from start to pay. Prices were lower than all of these “fancy” restaurants that were overpriced to begin with. Friendly service.
First of all, the fact that I could find a salad this good in an airport was amazing!! But even outside of airport food this would hold up. The Asian Chicken Salad was super filling. And, the service was great - they were super accommodating of my allergies. Loved it.
Their line was long but moved fast. They make your order fresh. I ordered the kickstart burrito. It was tightly rolled, which I appreciate. No spillage or leaking. A green tortilla filled with hot scrambled eggs, cheese, beans, and peppers. I am vegetarian, but I noticed the Chicken was weighed out in advance for another order. They do have a ton of vegetarian options. I was impressed they had a vegetarian soup and Mac and cheese. They have a long list of yummy sounding soups. Honestly impressed with the menu at an airport.
That server recommended the clam chowder bowl, so that's what I got. The clam chowder was very flavorful, and they give you a decent size portion. The bread bowl was super fresh and very large. I didn't try anything else there, but I would definitely come back.
One of my favorite places to eat at the Airport. Located in Terminal 3/United's Terminal. They have very healthy options. My favorite is the grain bowl with chicken for when you don't want to think about all of the stuff you can put in your salad. Quick and friendly service.
I just dropped off the Killgorry boys at SFO, for a flight back to Mulberry Township, and I'm beat! Listening to those two nimplewhips arguing about who has the better hamburger... Jack in the Box or Wendy's because neither of those joints are within 100 miles of their township. As a matter of fact there aren't any restaurants in the township, just a station with fuel, cigarettes and beer. I dropped them at the very southern end of SFO and told them good riddance, and headed straight to the Ladle & Leaf for a big bowl of their famous Split Pea Soup! It's Souperliciousy Delicious! Count um up...☆☆☆☆☆
Great sandwiches and soups. This is the place to try the San Francisco clam chowder in a bun if you are in transit and won't be visiting Fisherman's wharf.
If you passing through the San Francisco airport ,try out the Ladle & Leaf kiosk . The food is great especially their Turkey sandwiches.
Really enjoyed having their Mexican chicken tortilla soup with fresh sourdough bread. It really hit the spot for me while waiting for my plane.
My go to salad bar when I travel from SFO. They have many tasty healthy choices. I love the kale, Brussel and quinoa bowl and the Thai chicken salad. Those two always are full of flavours and hit the spot.
Great healthy options to eat. Fast service. I ordered Asian tofu salad and avocado toast. It was very good. Little pricey but didn’t mind paying for the healthy airport food

9:15 5? 9:55. Really appreciate the healthy breakfast options at the airport and Ruby is very lovely. She's really amazing. Really grateful for her.
Honestly pretty good for airport food and I think SFO has stepped it up over the last decade. Appreciate the healthy options. Workers were nice.

Great for an airport fast restaurant. I just got soup because I was feeling sick but my friends got sandwiches and seemed to enjoy them! It was a bit pricey though but it’s in an airport so I kind of expected that.
Very good salads, with fresh ingredients and a wide range of selections, plus you can make your own. It's an airport so it's hardly atmospheric, but it is reasonably clean.
The food was good as always. The server, a small Philippine lady with a limp, was truly awful. After ignoring me and another customer for about a minute, she looked up and said "Is anyone ready"? I replied yes and started my order with a Chicken Caesar Salad. She stopped me and said " Do you want a salad or a wrap "? I told her I had asked for a salad, I didn't say anything about a wrap? She spoke loudly, so I assumed she had auditory issues. I asked her to add tomato, but not to add cruetons. When I tried to remind her not to add cruetons she did anyway and told me I had told her too late. Incredible. Next I order a large Turkey Chili, but when I got to my table turned out to be something different. Her attitude fluctuated between indifference and passive aggressive hostility. When I returned the soup, she mumbled something about chili but said I had asked for something else. She said she would replace it, like she was doing me a favor. If this is the best this company can do, please do some customer service training and check for hearing impairments that can severely effect performance. Or, maybe just encourage her to look for work that doesn't involve working with people. I was sad for her and for me and others for her poor attitude and performance.
I had the bagel with cream cheese tomato and cucumber. It was delicious. Tasted like it had fresh tomatoes and cucumbers in it. Perfect amount of cream cheese. I enjoyed it!
We had a food voucher and grabbed sandwiches here (roast beef and cheese, chipotle chicken). They were very good, a little pricey at ~$13 each (but to be expected for an airport). The staff were very nice and helpful.
October 2023: Stopped by for lunch. Ordered the Thai Peanut Chicken salad. Enjoyed the meal. Lot of food! I've had their grain bowl before and it was very tasty too! Would definitely come back again for more delicious food!
Pretty good if you’re looking for an allergen friendly meal but expect to pay for it! It’s decent but Expensive- with a capital E. I paid almost $30 for a soup and salad. I was not a fan of their balsamic vinaigrette which was suspiciously creamy and didn’t taste like balsamic. It allegedly didn’t have dairy or soy in it so no clue what’s in there just not my favorite

I got an avocado toast and clam chowder from here with purified water and it was 22$! Pricey for what I got. I think next time, I’ll stick to just the clam chowder but in a large. The clam chowder is interesting. It has huge Chun is of potato and celery! Not much clams. It’s good in taste. The avocado basic toast is basically a spread of avocado with parsley layered over it. Very basic. N
The staff making my salad was super pleasant, so I was surprised when the checkout woman went out of her way to be rude. Just unnecessary…felt like she was having a bad day and taking it out on patrons Happy with the food — good portion size and quality ingredients
I paid $32 for a tuna sandwich, mac and cheese, a brisk can, and a cookie. It kind of reminded me of Panera bread. The tuna sandwich was good, the oatmeal cookie was okay nothing special..subway oatmeal cookies are better and the Mac was subpar. Not worth the $8 at all
Tomato soup was great. Kale/avocado/quinoa/tofu salad was bland even with dressing, which was supposed to be spicy per the menu. Service was okay, not great. They tried to rush the ordering process. Overall there are many options to order. The portion size was good.
The soup was delicious, a bit pricey but tasty. Don’t ask about adding ingredients because they will add them as they tell you it’s extra without much of a chance to decline it. Server was a bit rude. But it is a refreshing place to eat at an airport.
The Thai Peanut Chicken Salad was possibly the saltiest meal I’ve ever eaten. I’ve got to bet something was wrong or I got the end of the dressing or something because nobody could taste that and think the amount of sodium is appropriate. Feels like I got my weekly value’s worth in one sitting. Staff were nice and fast, I just wish I had gotten a different salad or dressing.
We went in anticipation of a sourdough bread bowl. My husband and I both ordered soup. They were both enjoyable. We asked for butter as we were checking out and were told "no butter". It would be nice if the had a sign telling the customers they were out of butter prior to ordering. Come on.....sourdough bread without butter?
Pretty ok prices for a airport. Ordered the bagel with egg and cheese. The egg was a little too watery in my opinion however it tasted fine. Guess you should order a salad as those reviews say they are good.

The food was fine. The service was not so good. Atmosphere is okay, typical food court vibes. For the service, the person serving our food was rushing us even with no line behind us. They also tossed our spoons onto the plastic tray, which we don’t even know was cleaned well.
Got a bagel, egg & cheese and a Carmel macchiato. Sandwich was dry and with no flavor. Thin piece of cheese that you could barely taste. Egg was just like a warmed up scramble. And the coffee was so bitter. Do not recommend.
I got the soup the day it was terrible, combination of slightly burnt, and flavorless. I threw it away. The place seemed well run and had nice employees.

Got a chicken tortilla Mexican soup with no vegetables and no chicken for 12.00. Don’t waste you time or money on this slop!
Very bad service and food. Don't even bother with the pepita - avocado toast. Bread, Cilantro and some pumpkin seeds with some avocado - no salt, dressing or literally no taste. (It would've cost them ~2$, charging $9 - talk about markups!)
Went way downhill. Corn chowder is no 80% potatoes, very little corn. Disappointing.
One of the worst cashier services I've ever experienced. 1. Gave me someone else's receipt! 2. While I was waiting for my burrito the cashier asked me with an angry tone why I'm there and I had to remind them that I'm waiting for my food to get ready. 3. After the burrito was ready they refused to give it to me and asked me to name the exact item name as it appears on their menu before giving it to me. Felt like bank identity verification! Note that I was the only one waiting, with their own coffee cup in my hand!
It's located at the airport like a food court are. The Clam Chowder was so delicious. It had so much clams in it. One of the best I've tasted. Now the service was another story...wow, wow, wow. They clearly didn't want to be there. We asked some questions about the menu items and all we got was "it says it on the menu." We asked again but no luck. She just handed me the soup and just wa ted to collect the payment. No manners at all. Why is she even there?
Stopped by for a quick bite and got the Cabo Chicken bowl. Half way through I found a very noticeable chunk of DIRT on a romaine leaf. I am 10 weeks pregnant and this is NOT something I want to ingest as I’m considered high risk - not to mention all of the bacteria and potentially life threatening diseases associated with potentially contaminated soil. First and last time I’ll order from here, they clearly do not quality control their fresh produce well.
Everyone should check reviews before buying anything. A turkey soup cost 7.50 but not impressive. Also as the other one mentioned they charged you an employee benefits fee of 2% and 2% each for cold and hot, total 4%. What the hell! They also say tips appreciated! Stay away from this cheating place and their not so great food. And they don't offer a spoon when you order a soup until you ask!
If you want the cashier to blame you and accuse you without even asking you want happened , please go buy food here. I had a misunderstanding with the people in front of me. I asked one of them if they took the order because she was just wandering. She said yes but apparently she forgot to mention her friend didn’t. Without knowing this, I went in front and try to order but soon realized it and jumped back to my spot in the line. But when it comes to me, the cashier started to YELLED AT ME ‘you don’t cut the line. You shouldn’t cut the line.’ I said it was a misunderstanding. Then she keeps yelling ‘you cut the line in front of them!’ She pointed at the people has been always behind me. I replied ‘I was always in front of them’ she keeps talking that I shouldn’t cut the line and I GOT MAD. It seems like the cashier just wanted to humiliate me in public with all the accusations. It was the worst human behavior I’ve ever experienced at SFO.

Clam Chowder Bread bowl I got was absolutely horrible. Looked like canned cat food and tasted like it. Bread bowl was stale and hard… very disappointing and would not recommend eating there soup bread bowls here. Not worth the price!
