Opiniones de Ray's Pizza Bagel Cafe Albee Square
This was a delightful find right next to our hotel. They were open 24/7 and they have everything from luscious desserts, bagels and cream cheese, challah french toast, pizza, salads, fruit bowls, yogurt parfait, etc. The staff are really friendly and the prices are very reasonable. The music is loud and pulsating, a little too loud for some people, but I found myself dancing all around and couldn’t stop myself!
This place delivers beyond what seems possible! Employees did a great job and all were ready to assist! I'll definitely make time for Ray's Pizza & Bagel Cafe on my next visit. They deliver quality food with good attention. I thoroughly appreciated this place and will certainly be back!
Good pizza people work fast, but not cheap. 20 for 4 slices. Also place is warm you can eat inside or outside. Walls are covered with paintings of New York City skyscrapers. Seems like a popular place. Also you can get pasta and chicken parm if you don’t want pizza.
I loved the incredible selection of pizza slices. See pics. However I went for a bagel, also see pic. Huge! On a cold December day I was able to sit outside on their "patio" which isn't heated as such but wasn't cold. Seems like a classic authentic NY place to grab some quick food before walking or heading to the Subway station opposite.
THE FOOD IS VERY VERY WELL DONE. BLOWS AWAY ANY REGULAR DELI OR BODEGA AND PRICED ABOUT THE SAME. OVERALL GREAT VALUE, QUALITY, NICE CLEAN PLACE TO SIT AND ENJOY A MEAL. BREAKFAST IS MY PERSONAL GO TO HERE, AND ONE OF THE FEW PLACES THAT I WILL SIT DOWN AND ENJOY THE FOOD. I CANNOT HELP BUT RECCOMEND THE PANCAKES... HOWEVER, TODAY TRIED FRENCH TOAST AND VERY IMPRESSED WITH THE SUPER THICK CUT AND PROPER COOKED, JUST RIGHT NICE N FLUFFY TOO.
The food is absolutely delicious. The atmosphere is a little rundown, but the feel you get the homey feel the New York feel so it makes up for it but like I said, the food is great. The staff is very respectful when you're in New York you have to eat here because the pizza is absolutely the bomb.
what we ordered: Smoked salmon and cream cheese 🥯 Chicken fajita panini 🐔 Pepperoni Sicilian 🍕 Chicken broccoli pizza 🥦 Chocolate cupcake 🧁 Carrot cake 🥕 this place has everything and it’s 24/7!! the smoked salmon and cream cheese bagel was so good- super thicc too. the panini got a kick of spice too. they have a variety of pizzas to choose from and they even have desserts!! loved both the cupcake and carrot cake. definitely satisfied my sweet cravings 🤤
This is a local favorite and I certainly understand why. It has an incredible array of pizza, pizza, desserts, drinks, and beers. It feels very "New York" with lots of laughter, wonderful smells, and camaraderie. I felt like a New Yorker just walking through the door. The prizes are reasonable, the place is clean and you can eat indoors or outdoors. I had a spinach pie and my wife had a veggie pizza bagel and a slice of mushroom and spinach pizza. We shared an incredible piece of carrot cake for dessert. The service was downright jovial and we enjoyed ourselves very much. This is a special place and every bit a piece of New Yorker "Americana".
This would be my favorite pizza spot out of the 3 I attended. The Buffalo chicken pizza had some fire to it. But it was really good. Spent 9 or 10 bucks on the slice and soda. Right in the middle of east village. I didn't get a sandwich but they did look really good. Not a lot of places to sit. I think the delivery guy take all the seating in the back area which just leaves the 6 tables in front, so you can people watch. 2pm on a Friday. Busy but not packed.
Ray’s Pizza in Manhattan is a good spot to hit up after a late night of drinking or after a concert in Manhattan. It’s not the greatest pizza in the world, or even NYC, but it gets the job done and is definitely decent. I showed up after a concert at Webster Hall, ordered jalapeño-pepperoni + mushroom-olive slices, plus a Modelo Especial. Hung out in a booth, munchin away. There were a handful of other people inside: a couple eating a late night meal, 4 friends chatting after slices. Overall, although the pizza isn’t top-tier—it’s a bit flimsy, sauce isn’t the greatest—they are generous with ingredients and the service is great. Very genuinely happy workers who are just chatty enough and prompt. The atmosphere is cool too. Nothing crazy, but you get a classic NYC vibe in here.
Stopped in at Ray’s Pizza & Bagel Café under the St. Marks Hotel while exploring the East Village. The food was reasonably priced for the area, and the pizza slices were fresh, hot, and full of flavor classic New York style! They serve everything quick, and the staff was super friendly and efficient. There are two small bathrooms, not wheelchair friendly, though the entrance and seating area are accessible. Inside has that authentic NYC pizza shop vibe, and you can also grab a seat outside under the red awning to people-watch. Overall, a great spot for a quick, affordable bite whether you’re a local or just visiting. Definitely worth stopping by if you’re near Astor Place or St. Marks.
After trying to go to Joe's pizza around the corner that we could not get into. We tried Ray's were ordered 2 slices 1 pepperoni and 1 sausage. The service was very good along with the atmosphere and people watching. The slices were almost molten so that where the people watching came in. Remember to allow a little time before you bite into your slice.
Pretty cool joint that sells pizzas and bagels. HUGE selection to choose from! Lots of seating in the back. The pizza was good. They also had two small tables on the front sidewalk for those who love outdoor dining. The dining area in the back has cool murals to look at. The whole place has an old time authentic pizza joint feel to it.
$21.63 - 3 slices, 1 ice tea. This used to be my favorite. Pizza in the city. I was so.locking forwsrd to it. After sticker shock....slice size smaller, less cheese, not crispy, very little dripping oil. Not sure what happened [oh yeah- costs] but seriously disappointed. It is still pizza.stll at st marks corner...but...not DELICIOUS. :(
Expensive midtown pizza place. I didn't try anything besides the pizza, so I can't speak to the entirety, but the pizza sucked. The toppings were good, but the pizza itself was worse than $1 pizza. I got 2 slices and threw out most of the second slice. The staff was nice and quick though. I wouldn't go back unless I was desperate. Take a longer walk to a better spot. Everyone else here probably just has bad taste. 🧐
I had an ok "grandma" pizza slice (though it isn't like the grandma slice available at most NYC places). But the restaurant does not post prices, nor do they have a menu you can look at with prices. I was SHOCKED after they heated my slice and rang me up that I was charged $6.95 for a single vegetarian pizza slice. I would never have ordered it if I knew the price. I asked to see the menu and they just pointed to the signs above the counter (no prices). I asked for a printed menu and they said they don't have one and the prices only exist in the point-of-sale computer. For all I know, they made up the price based on what they thought I would be willing to pay. Charge what you want to charge, but don't try to trap customers into paying an absurd price that you didn't disclose ahead of time. You can buy perfectly decent pizza slices in the neighborhood for $2 or even less!
