Alejandro "Elvis" is ALWAYS an amazing server. The food is consistently on par. I love it so much that I travel from Rockwall to eat at the Watters Creek location in Allen. The Seisegundos Margarita is to die for.

MiCocina did not disappoint! We sat at the bar because the wait was 20 minutes and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The bartenders were friendly and extremely professional. They worked so hard. The salsa and chips were homemade and delicious!

Great experience all around! Ronald C was our server and he treated us like family. If our complimentary salsa looked low, no matter which employee was walking by our table, they would ask if we were ready for a refill. Manager checked on us as well. Quick service but was not rushed.

We’ve been loyal Mi Covina fans for close to my entire life (various locations)—but Watters Creek has to be our absolute favorite location by far. The food is incredible. With an extensive menu & plenty of room to modify what you need—we always get top tier tex-mex. Don’t miss the original frozen margs or skip out on the fajitas & their fresh pico—definitely my fav selections! Let’s be honest, the drinks are probably why we choose Mi Cocina over other competitors more often than not, and they never disappoint! And MOST IMPORTANTLY—the staff of this location are the best of the best. I work in hospitality, and I quite literally use this location as a reference point with my own team on a regular basis. Karla, Griselda, Lily—y’all have got this down to an absolute science. Every visit we are made to feel special & you go out of your way to remember us, our favorite items, and ask after us. We feel more like friends and family than service person & guest. Thank you for CARING. You have no idea how much your positive demeanors and attention to detail make our experience memorable and keep us wanting to come back! PS—the outside patio is the place to be. This is my first time eating here. I will most definitely be coming back!! Every Mexican restaurant I go to I always ask for a Squirt soda and they had it! Also I ask for the chimichanga , and the had that too. My dish was called the Cocina Chawga and it was no lie one of my favorite ones ever!

This location is becoming busier and busier. The wait was about 20 minutes today. The AC is blasting which means the air is circulation. The service was attentive and the food was great. The smokiness of the fajitas are so yummy. The kids loved the cheese and chicken quesadilla.

I was so pleased to see fish on the menu! I have gained weight after covid and can't get it off so I've been avoiding Tex-Mex for 3 years, lol. But my sister and I were meeting for lunch and she had a very long drive in from the country so I let her pick the restaurant. I figured I'd find something light on the menu but this fish - it was absolutely delicious! But let me start at the beginning. I joined my sis who was already seated in a booth. It was early, not even 12pm on a Friday. The restaurant was not yet filling up, so I wondered why it took a few minutes for anyone to come to our table. When Jairo finally did, he apologized, so I let him off the hook. :) He asked if we'd like something to drink and I chose the Italian Santa Margherita Pinot Grigio $13. It was very good. I only found one type of fish on the menu, which I thought strange but was eager to try something refreshing in this heat. My sis ordered her 'usual' salad, which looked really good - lots of green lettuce but she said they forgot the avocado. It was topped with fajita meat and she loves it. But was still disappointed about the lack of avocado. My dish was perfect. The rice was awesome, it was NOT plain white rice, I forgot what it was but I loved it. The fish was cooked perfectly and the vegetables - oh my goodness! Unfortunately - or fortunately in this case, I never eat all my food, so I had enough to take home for later. I usually eat Tex-Mex in a Latin restaurant but this fish will be my go-to for next time. My compliments to the chef and Jairo was great! We liked the scan to pay option - less work for Jairo, I hope. He is an excellent server.

Placed a to go order and for the first time i asked for a very customized order and they made it pretty well for me! the guy who handled my order, Marcos, is the man! He walked me through everything and made sure i got a great order! Nicest person ever.

Great food. Pretty nice atmosphere. The service is nice too. There's not much to not love about Mi Cocina. We're regular here. They have some vegetarian and vegan options too (l suggest Spinach Enchiladas). Top it off with a Mambo Taxi margherita and your golden.

Erica was fantastic! She moved us from an outside, cold table to one under the heaters. Then she learned everyone’s names, memorized everyone’s drink orders, and made sure we had everything we needed. She gave the kids cake and fruit and carrots to feed the bunnies. It was a wonderful experience, and I can’t wait to come back.

Julian was our server tonight and the service was absolutely perfect. He treated my family very well and gave us open and welcoming energy. I had the brisket quesadillas and they were delicious. my son had chicken quesadillas with rice and beans and I think it’s safe to say he enjoyed it very much. There were two flies that seemed to enjoy our table but we were by the door so it didn’t bother us too much. Absolutely will be returning to this restaurant

Love this place. Great seating, service was outstanding and the food was close to perfect. Queso is just ok, little bland could use a little more spice, but did pair well with the type of chip served. Brisket is def the star of the show , whether the taco or burrito it's that good. Every time I’ve been to the Mi Cocina at Watters Creek it’s been well worth the time and money. My group came last night and we had a great experience- especially due to super prompt and friendly service from Julian that made all of us want to come back again soon! Everyone’s food came out tasting amazing too with good portion sizes so none of us left hungry. We did have a small mixup with one order but the mistake was resolved super quickly and easily with help from our server. I’ve also noticed that every single time I’ve been at this location I’ve seen the male manager making rounds to ask every single guest if they’re doing okay and enjoying everything.

A Birthday very well spent! We went here for our nephew’s Birthday and it was perfect.. just as he deserves! I love this particular location and food here was better quality than another location I had tried! The ambiance, the staff, the food - excellent! We were a large group who showed up in phases.. but our server was all smiles, very observant and quick to bring water and take orders for drinks! She ensured the chips, salsa and even basics such as napkins were refreshed! We were seated right across the kitchen opening which is understandably loud but we didn’t mind because our server was excellent.. I wish I remembered her name to give her kudos! She very respectfully waited while people in our group decided what they wanted and some even changed their minds while others ordered! She very graciously accepted all that and helped with any questions that anyone had!

We loved our dinner here! We brought a group of 10 of our close family members in and I was nervous that the staff might be impatient with our rowdy bunch. Luckily we had the sweetest, most patient server Erika. She was fast, got our orders accurate, always had our waters filled, and was SUPER patient with our crazy little nephews! I love reviewing Mexican food. I saw some reviews and pictures. The steak tacos looked amazing so I had to give it a shot. _________________________________________ Food: Salsa - The salsa wasn't bad. It had a little kick. It wasn't great though. Beer - I usually want Tecate with my steak tacos. It's very nostalgic to me. However, they didn't have it. I have to knock them a little on this Beans and rice - The beans and rice were good. The beans had some kick. The rice was as good as any other Mexican restaurant. However, they didn't make a huge statement either. Enchiladas - My wife got some enchiladas that were wonderful. I'm not into enchiladas as much but I tried them and they were tasty. Chicken nachos - The chicken nachos really hit the spot. I didn't get a great picture of the chicken nachos. But they were good. Steak Tacos - The steak tacos were awesome. I'm not actually sure what menu item they are. I showed him a picture and he knew what I wanted. Tacos de something. These were great. Wow. The first thing that comes to my mind when enjoying a wonderful drink and some food from Mi Cocina. From the Tacos De Brisket to their fantastic drinks, the flavors will absolutely overwork your tastebuds. I cannot speak enough about how good everything is here. Try some different things and you will not regret it. An absolute delight and one of my favorite places to eat in Dallas.

Wow, they were really busy. But, they took care of us. My daughter, my grand daughter and I had been shopping at the outlet mall, which was great, and we were hungry for Mexican food, sooooo. Here we are. I got a plate with a taco, enchilada and a tamale. The enchilada was hard, I couldn't eat it. The tamale was the best thing on the plate, it was really good. My daughter got a breakfast plate. She said it was really good. My grand daughter got the nachos and she liked them alot. If you like enchiladas I would be sure and ask them to check and see if they are fresh and soft, like they should be. I should have sent my back. It was really hard and all dried up. There was no cheese in it. I hope you have a good dinner. 🥀😊

This place is very popular for fajitas and you can sit outside which is nice. I wouldn’t recommend this place for vegan options because they basically served me mushrooms without any seasoning for 16$- they even forgot to give me the sides and I had to ask for them. The chips and salsa were good and I was told the fajitas are good but I don’t recommend the vegan options.

Ordered the MiCo Burrito and it was so small I took one bite and took a picture because I was pretty disappointed. I spent $15 and I feel like it wasn't very large for the price. The ingredients were actually spectacular so it's unfortunate the burrito was so small.

A friend and I came for lunch. We ordered the chicken tortilla soup and the nachos locos. They served chips and salsa. In my opinion - the soup was ok. It had very little chicken (my guess would be maybe 2 oz at the most), and had a very mild flavor. I perfer soups that are more robust. Additionally, it was served warm and not hot. It did have a nice touchnof avocado though which was nice. I would not order their soup again. The chips are thicker and taste more like a whole wheat chip. Not my preference but they were good. The nachos were good but again not served hot. The cheese barely melted. The chicken portion and the guacamole portion were reasonable. He young lady who took care of our table was very kind and helpful. She was patient with my friend who has hearing loss. Overall - it was clean enough. The service was pleasant but not notable. The food was OK but overpriced. I wouldn't make it a point to return but wouldn't avoid it either.

To be honest, this can be unpopular opinion. But I didnt like the food too much. All our dishes were vegetarian.The vegetables were way too large, the taste was mediocre and salsa wasnt great either. Maybe this place isnt the best for vegetarians and better for non vegetarians I expected more from this restaurant. However the food looked great.

It saddens me to have to post this but I was in the allen location on 11/30 for lunch I ordered habana nachos and then I placed a Togo order as well. The nachos taste was great until I found a hair in my food and this is where it fell off for sure. Im bald so it couldnt be a hair from me at all, the waiter did get me another order which took about 15 min. To replace the order but not 1 time did anyone from management come over and apologize. Its not busy so im guessing they either weren't told or were to embarrassed to come over. Either way they should of at min. Offered to buy me desert or something. Most places will remove the meal since it was something they did. Not only did they not anything and charge full price I didnt get a sorry except from the waiter which was probably because they were afraid their tip would be lower. Which its not the waiters fault at all. Just upsets me that management didnt have the decency to apologize. It has nothing to do with me having to pay for it because to be honest if they took the meal off I would of gave ot to the waiter thats what I've always done yo show them mistakes happen but since they are kind enough to take care of the meal I take of the waiter. I just feel a little disrespected right now. I normally eat at the one on 121 and Alma. Maybe b the manager over their stops by my table more than one time because we are there alot but only time a manager came by was before my food was out.

Restaurant is too noisy, loud music. I can't hear the server. Fajita beef is a little dry and burnt. Shrimp is grilled and tasty. Fajita is not sizzling. Appetizer was late and brought out at the same time with the main entries. Main entries had to wait for the appetizer, and getting cold. Shrimp Brochette appetizer is good. La Pina is OK.

Very disappointing experience. We have been coming to this location for years. We were sat on the patio. The server did not come by. The manager took our drink order. Brought drinks took an appetizer order. And still no server. We were ready to order and told to wait until he brought out the queso. Finally the manger took our dinner order. They were not very busy for a Monday. After an hour we still had no food. Had to ask the kitchen where our food was. Everyone around us that sat after we did ordered and got their food. Fajitas were cold when they came out. Rice was cold. Quesadillas were cold. We were told by the manager the reason the food was cold was because we ordered a side of crispy green beans and they took longer, so be ware. No green beans were brought out to the table so that confused me as to why that caused the rest of the food to be so late. We went to chuys after. Hot food. Was ready to go from the time we left mi cocina in Allen. Didn’t take an hour. We will not be back to Mi cocina Allen.

If I could give a negative zero I would!!’ I’m writing because I’m absolutely shocked and angry about how I was treated during my most recent visit to this restaurant Today 10/12/25. I’ve been a regular customer for a long time — coming in two to three times a week For over 20 years!! and I’ve never been disrespected like this before. This time, I was refused service. Not once, but twice That alone is outrageous. But what really pushed this over the edge was the response from the manager on duty. Instead of stepping in to fix the issue or show any level of professionalism, he simply told me that the waitress "didn’t want to take care of us" as if that’s a valid excuse. Let me be very clear: that is not acceptable. It is not how you speak to a customer, let alone one who regularly supports your business. It was dismissive, lazy, and completely unprofessional.The entire situation was handled with zero respect and even less accountability. If this is how management allows their staff to behave — picking and choosing who they want to serve — then you’ve got a serious problem.I will also be taking this complaint directly to corporate, and I’m more than willing to provide the names of both servers who refused to serve me, and the manager who clearly has no idea what professionalism looks like!! As far as I’m concerned, I won’t be stepping foot in that location again — and I’ll make sure others know how regular customers are treated there.

Imagine placing an order online, it’s says it’s only taking 13 minutes. It takes 40 mins, the staff and manager are UNAPOLOGETIC, avoid accountability and offer no resolution for the inconvenience. My husband and I could excuse a delay if the staff were HALF professional and respectful but they are NOT. This location is TRASH and we won’t be back.
