Best banana pudding ice cream !!!
I really liked Ample Hills (Astoria location). Their ice-cream is very good, my fav flavour was cookies & cream, we also tried the summer of love and vanilla with gummy bears on top. We got pretzel cone for the 3 of them, i personslly didn’t like the contrast of flavours, the cone was too salty in my opinion. The place is super cool and the manager very nice! I went there for a vlog, video coming out soon on You Tube!
This is by far the best ice cream I’ve had so far. Now I see why there would be long lines during the summer for this place. This is a must try when your around the area and in the mood for great quality ice cream.
Most delicious icecream! They have a large selection of fun crazy name icecreams. Different flavor cones sundays, floats, milkshakes. Also theres a small kids play section in the back, super cute. Fun colored tables for eating in and since the weather is nice there where red chairs on the outside, perfect for a cool picture. My son had the vanilla kids cone with rainbow sprinkles and it was amazing. I highly recommend you try this place. There is no parking structure but who cares! Street parking can get tricky because its in a busy area but totally worth it!
Small Ice-cream shop, but massive flavors. An extensive menu and fun combinations of various Ice-cream flavors. Unfortunately for me there were only two certified gluten free flavors listed. However the taste was excellent. Real cream, real flavors. 😋
Ice cream was out of this world!! Room to sit. I heard the line sometimes can be outside and around the corner but I was lucky enough to make it there while it wasn't too packed! I had the ooey gooey cake ice cream and it was delicious I'd recommend it to anyone who likes butter cake, it forces a smile on the faces of those who fall victim to its familiar sweetness💯
It has been a while since my last purchase.. I love it so much but it’s actually so pricy so I can’t buy it that often :( … Today I was passing by randomly in 30th Ave and I saw balloons .. thought of checking out .. So they were having free scoops for the first 25 people for the ice cream day .. I felt sad that I missed that .. However, I was speaking to the gentleman Jorge & mentioned that I actually have an active account with points & if there are offers currently .. he was polite, listened attentively & surprised me with honoring the free scoop for the Ice cream day ❤️ I had a rough day before passing by .. and his act was really sweet & thoughtful .. He made my day 🙏🏻 I appreciate him & I hope he gets recognized with his great customer service !
I want to go back and try more ice cream flavors! This ice cream spot had such a cute concept and shop aesthetic. My favorite thing was ordering a flight, which was just a fancy way of saying, "let me put little tiny ice cream scoops and a cute egg carton". I recognize that that sounds like I'm being sarcastic, but I think it's the best freaking idea and I'm mad I didn't think of it. If you buy a flight and share it with a friend, firstly, it's a cheaper experience, secondly, you get to try out so many flavors, and thirdly why wouldn't you do this option? They had some unique looking flavors and being able to try multiple was a fantastic and filling experience. All in all, 10 out of 10, will be coming back, I might even go tomorrow.
This is what it’s all about. Inventive ice cream. High-quality ice cream. Ice cream served with kindness. I was thrilled to see that it had two different pumpkin offerings available on my visit. How many ice cream establishments can say that? Ample Hills is a New York classic, and it has survived incredible events. Long may it endure.
I was super excited to see Ample Hills reopen just before the summer ends. The variety in flavored ice cream is awesome — love the ice cream flight which is basically an ice cream sampler (especially if your an ice cream lover like myself who can’t make up his mind and wants a taste of more than two). If there’s ever a line (which there typically is) — it’s worth the wait.
I'm so glad this place opened back up. Best ice cream in the neighborhood. Ample Hills does ice cream with a variety of interesting mix-ins. If you're stopping here for the first time I'm going to recommend you go with a flight and split it with another person to try out six different flavors. Great place to swing by on date night.
Opens in Astoria Queens to lines and a signature location flavor, "Nectar of the Queens". Great ice cream with great prices to match. Currently $4.75 for kids, $5.35 for adult scoop. $7.50 large, $10.50 pints, $9.00 for prepacks pints. Ask for cones for your dish. Walt Whitman wrote "Brooklyn of Ample Hills." The namesake ice cream store is expanding again outside of Brooklyn to long lines. Happily they have done this so much that they didn't run out of the most popular flavors. Apparently different locations have exclusive flavors We enjoy many flavors but tonight opted for the butter pecan brittle, like butter pecan meets the brulee of creme brulee. It has that slight burnt or brulee taste. Excellent. AHC is a bit pricey for me but I don't dare give this less than 5 Stars, it is my daughter's favorite and she wouldn't forgive me. I never went to Ben & Jerry's original retail store but I imagine AHC to be similar but with NY & today's sensibilites. I think of AHC like I do Neapolitan or NY Neapolitan style pizza, They are fabulous artisan products but I prefer better value in my neighborhood. So go to Trader Joe's and buy the private label Double Rainbow ice or something cream or sorbet. High quality for a fraction of the price, add your own candy bars...
Delicious homemade ice cream shop with 20 flavors to choose from. You can't go wrong with the signature Ooey Gooey Butter Cake flavor. I also tried the Pistachio Squared which was amazing but might be a little too sweet for some people. I had to wait about 20 minutes on line but that's only because it was opening weekend. I'm sure it won't be as bad in the middle of the week.
Best Icecream on the borough. A little pricey on the cakes but good deal on the brownie Sundaes
I just love this place. The ice cream is delicious. While you might spend a little bit of money here, it's worth it. When I come here, I leave with pints
Great ice cream store — reminds me of the one in my hometown with house made waffle cones. Wish they were playing some quiet music! A little disorganized to order/not clear where the line should start. Cute and clean store though. Tasty ice cream. Would love if there was a vanilla non-dairy option! Would recommend the store overall. More advertising on what is house made would also increase the appeal 😉
This is the cornerstone staple of ice cream with a lot of unique flavors. The best part are the creative designs for the flavor names. We ordered the cake batter flavor and oatmeal lace. Unfortunately the cake better flavor didn’t really taste like cake batter but maybe next time it will. There are so many other flavors, it is definitely worth a shot. Alsothe oatmeal lace has a strong Cinnamon taste, so go for it!
My favorite NYC ice cream chain - have their Nectar of the Queens flavour which is special to the Astoria branch - with bits of baklava and other exotic ingredients - you’ll love it. Even though I only (mostly) get chocolate flavors, I enjoyed this unique flavour! Also tried the orange and the caramel ice creams - the latter was better. Additionally also got the potato chips and M&Ms ice cream which was fun !
I was happy that this place reopened but I feel like the service has gone downhill. The place smells weird, like a dirty dish rag mixed with a sweet vanilla waffle, it's very off-putting. I've also ordered ice cream to take home twice and on these two separate occasions I came home only to find out I was given the wrong flavor. Super disappointing :(
Holy cow, I know Ample Hills has changed ownership a few times but this newest iteration takes the cake. They got rid of the kids scoop pricing/sizing, but KEPT THE TINY CUPS for the size small. Over $8 for a single scoop of ice cream. They also had one staff member running the place. On a Saturday. In August. Don't get me wrong, the ice cream is decent, but Ample Hills has lost its soul in a bad way compared to 3 or so years ago.
