Opiniones de The Bier & Cheese Collective Astoria
A fantastic collection of beer to choose from on the shelves and in the coolers, including twelve drafts on tap. I enjoyed a flavorful vanilla bean mead as well. The staff was terrific, friendly and attentive. I will definitely come back.
These guys don’t need my help necessarily but I just wanted to say this is one of the great spots in the neighborhood! Haven’t had food here yet but it looks amazing. True gem as far as beer and provisions go for sure!
Great spot for cured meats and cheeses, staff's great at helping you pick out new things to try if you dont have anything on your mind. Come here every time I'm putting together a charcuterie board.
Each item on the menu delivered on its promise. The employees were properly attentive. We didn't wait unnecessarily. The restaurant goes the extra distance. My visits will continue indefinitely.
Great vibe! It was music trivia night. Very welcoming bartenders. We chose LOCAL and went with a NYC Harlem Renaissance Wit pint. It is beyond expectations. The food menu has many options that look very appetizing. I'd come back to try the Roast Pork Banh Mi. There are also many items that you can purchase within, and you should definitely try the truffle sea salt.
Astoria offers a great spot for high-quality beer, complemented by incredible cheese and bread options. My group of four ordered a large charcuterie board, which was beautifully presented but modest in portion size for the $21 price tag. I also tried the “Figgy Piggy” sandwich, which was flavorful and satisfying, priced at $14 and served promptly after payment. One concern I’d like to raise is the $2 uncanning fee for consuming drinks on-site. While I understand operational costs like rent, it was unexpected and contributed to a total of $41 for a sandwich, two beers, and tips, which felt excessive. That said, the overall vibe and quality make this a place I’d return to, but clearer pricing details or a more transparent policy on additional fees would enhance the experience.
Great artisanal cheese and beer establishment. Unique products and merchandise. Large selection of craft Brewery concoctions. Most available in cans for Take Out. Patio seating and some limited bar stools. Some events and tastings available. Close to public transportation with some limited parking in this residential neighborhood.
If you're into craft beer, craft cheeses, or both, and you're in or around Astoria, you probably already know about the Bier & Cheese collective, but if you don't, check it out!!! Amazing beer selection, mostly local, from throughout the city along with bites to eat, and tap room. Anyone in the area should definitely check it out!!!
Me and a Isabela have been coming to the formerly known as Astoria bier and cheese for many years. Now, as it’s known: The Bier and Cheese Collective…!EVERYTIIIME!! we visit we are treated with genuine hospitality. The sandwiches and plates and bier are a delicacy, in which we always succumb to. Tonight, we had family out of state and Lane and Jera (hope I got your name right!) were so kind and comforting. The duo were one of a kind, who made us feel welcomed. Cheers, to This wonderful staff and Rich who is a dork! Always a family affair! Many blessings to your shop and staff!
Our favorite neighborhood spot, for any occasions—weekday wind-downs, weekend afternoons, late night drinks and munchies, birthday celebrations… we even took my parents visiting NYC there last summer and this was their favorite place during their stay. Divine sandwiches, wonderful selection of beer, cider and wine, and super friendly staff who knows their stuff! They also carry a wide variety of canned/bottled beers, cheese, cured meats, bread and crackers, and condiments too if you fancy putting together a charcuterie board at home.
Enjoyed a wonderful selection of cheeses and meats that were paired really well. My wife is gluten free and enjoyed the ciders very much as well gluten free crackers. As for myself the beer selection paired really well with the cheeses. Also glad to see that they have wine options now as well. Would definitely recommend this place and look forward to going back soon. Thanks for a wonderful night Sarah and Eric! 10/10
Lovely artisanal cheese on Ditmars in Astoria. They have a wide selection of soft and hard cheese. Each is labeled in the case with origin, price, and helpful tasting notes. They also sell craft beer in cans, bottles, and on draft. In addition, you can purchase other sauces and accoutrements for any charcuterie plate. The real standout of this location is it's sandwich menu. The Kurt Brussels is not to be missed! Super chill outdoor backyard seating available if you arrive early, but they also have some tables out in front of the store.
The Bier and Cheese Collective was a welcoming atmosphere, and perfect for lunch! We sat outside in the back where they had a small picnic area. Definitely try the pretzel, it was super tasty and not too salty! As for the drinks, we loved the guava cider, it was just sweet enough to appeal to non-cider drinkers, as well as cider lovers.
Firstly, I'm glad they are around. Legitimate neighbourhood business founded on quality. The atmosphere is good and the staff helpful, and the beers of course are tasteful and various. That being said, I don't find myself coming often because, though I want to, there is usually at least one vegan in my group and their menu does not do much to accommodate. Secondly, I appreciate their stocked table and pantry goods. It's nice to pick up something on a whim. However, their markup on these goods is eye-watering. Sometimes 70-100% more than the average cost of the same items elsewhere. If they addressed these two shortcomings I'd likely be back in here more often.
Fenomenal cheese selection, great environment and awesome service. But need more and better beer selection, they have good but they could do better. They close too early and if they have catering service they kitchen is unavailable for the rest of the costumers 😑. I hope they extend hours of operation.
They have a lunch special that's not special at all. Small sandwich that has little substance to it. They don't date their cans (and neither do the breweries anymore, so you have no idea if that IPA you want in a can is fresh or been sitting there 3+ months). They charge extra if you buy a can/bottle from the fridge and drink it there. I think that's pretty ridiculous, just charge us for the beer and if you expect a tip, don't charge me to crack open a can myself.
If you're going to participate in a service like too, good to go, then accurately post your hours and don't make people waste their time coming to your store when you're closed. It's very inconsiderate and disrespectful!
Completely upsurd place. Zero respect for the neighborhood. Owner hosts endless events and there is endless noise in the back garden space. Owner has zero respect for the people who live near the location. Only business owner on the block that uses the backyard as a personal event space. Incredible how they have zero respect for the people who live around this circus of an establishment and have to endure this mans endless use of a back area space. The whole point of a back yard is for peace and quiet this establishment destroys everyones quality of life making once calm and peaceful evenings into evenings where you cannot even hear yourself think. So sad this is able to persist.
Long time customer here and tonight, I've gotta say was insultingly bad in terms of sandwich size and how poorly they were filled with ingredients. For almost $20 I shouldn't be getting a sandwich the size of like 2 Hawaiian rolls. This was embarrassing on your guys part. Had the same sandwich dozens of times here and the portion was not cool tonight, felt like a ripoff.
