Great breakfast/more than reasonably price/large portions of well prepared selections/also has alcohol license for mamosis and bloody mary
Great food with amazing service. Made you feel so welcome. Highly recommend.
Hi this is the REAL Rebecca Giannino. I DID NOT post that first comment. I've only been to Dugan's one time and that was a long time ago. I have no problem with their food, wait staff or decor. Nor do I have anything bad to say about them. Also... For anyone that knows me.. I barely ever drink coffee to know what horrible coffee tastes like AND I know how to type correctly using capitalization and proper spelling. Sorry to anyone who's read that review and thought that I wrote it but I didn't. Just goes to show how immature people are that they can write a review under someone else's name. Again sorry to anyone who read that and thought it was me.
Great food and I appreciate still having a place nearby to grab breakfast if desired!
Great service and friendly atmosphere
Pre-ordered breakfast to pick up and it was hot and ready at the time I specified. Friendly atmosphere.
Very friendly staff. Food was very good and not greasy. Definitely will be going back.
This place has the best country style breakfast i have had on the east coast. The people are friendly and the atmosphere makes you feel like you're in the home of one of the cooks. Will go again!
In a world of chain restaurants designed to make money and cut corners, Dugan's shines as a diamond in the rough. The prices are small and the portions are huge. You can expect a country feel and friendly staff. I feel like it's known as a breakfast spot, but the dinner specials are where it's at!!
The food and service at Dugan's was excellent. The team even helped to change my tire when I got a flat down the road. Would absolutely recommend Dugan's!
Huevos Rancheros was so delicious. They kept me in coffee the entire time I was there. The blueberry pancakes were very good as well
Such a friendly staff with amazing service! Everything was brought out quickly and piping hot! The portions were very generous and the food was delicious!
Stopped with a group of peers for lunch. Had a rodeo burger, cooked perfectly and delicious. Pretty good selection of items for a small diner. Good prices.
This was one of the best places I've had breakfast at! Great food for an amazing price, what more could you ask for
Friday fish is like no other, Saturday prime rib is to die for. Great garden salad with crumble/creamy blue cheese. The side of clam chowder was also very good.
We have become regulars this summer and fall. First the food is always great, breakfast, lunch and dinner. The team working there is always friendly and the service we experience is top notch, attentive but not intrusive.
Great place for great grub. Seriously, everyone is friendly, Michael and his team are always there to support our small community, and you'll never leave hungry!
I brought a large group of women to DCG for lunch today. I pre-arranged the menu with owner Mike Dugan, who was most accommodating and a pleasure to work with. He took great care of us with delicious food and generous portions even though they were supposed to be "lady size". Great food, wonderful hospitality and really nice folks. We will return again soon.
Love this place! Solid food. Good prices, friendly service.
Delicious food, locals eat here. Hearty breakfast, loved it. Nothing fancy. Just good food & service. Prices are very reasonable
Amazing food, huge portions, great prices. A great little country diner. As far as other reviews about it being too country... It is. It's a local diner run by country folks for country folks. The menu isn't huge. They don't have a million options. It's simple and it's simple done right. It's few and far between that you see a person leave without a carry out container and a smile.
Dugan's was delightful! We called ahead and had a huge party, but they took exceptional care of us and everyone had delicious meals. Will definitely be returning in the future!
Fantastic people and good food! Mike Dugan creates a welcoming atmosphere and his restaurant serves some wonderful country cooking. We loved stopping by here while we were in town!
We are going to be regulars! Just good food. I have a hard time paying for breakfast food, because we can make such good food at home. Dugan's is worth going out for breakfast! Great flavor, portions are huge, and tasty. Very laid back atmosphere. It is has a "locals" feel. We hadn't been before, but we still felt like "locals".
Best diner food we’ve had in a long time! Mattie was the sweetest server and the whole experience was just amazing. We found our new favorite spot when we are at the lake!
CIA trained owner, the food wasn't fancy, but my friend (chef/baker) and I agreed that the food was delicious. I never eat dessert, made a rare exception for carrot cake and more coffee. Well worth the drive.
Love this place! Dependably good food. Great service. Amazing prices. Meat pancakes rock! Y'all, it's a plate sized pancake filled with ham, bacon, and sausage! Yep...all the porks please😋🥰
Great food, no wait and excellent service. This was my first time there and I would definitely go back. Overall recommend this to anyone who wants a good meal for a reasonable price.
Stopped for breakfast on our way through the area. Very friendly staff, good options and fair prices. Food was delicious. Highly recommend for a quick, casual meal.
Had a 70th and 90th Birthday party and they made our visit so personal.
Always great food, selection and service. Lucky to have these folks in our area. Oops, can't lose weight with their portion sizes and my lack of self control :)
The staff was friendly-service with a smile. Food was served fast and hot. Fresh ingredients. Would visit again if we are back in the area.
Awesome people awesome food very large portions and their prices Are really good. Very impressed with the farm feeling of good old down home cooking and family. Highly recommended.
We had never visited Dugans before. We went for breakfast and can't wait for the chance to try lunch or dinner! Delicious! Amazing selection for a diner in the country! Expected sausage gravy & biscuits; didn't expect chorizo and potatoes or so many other interesting things!
Out for a drive in the countryside and found this place (using Google Maps) for a late lunch. A little dated on the inside, but the fish sandwich was well worth the $10. Quick tip, don't sit by a window in the winter, a lot of cold air leaking in! Some of the tables had unique patterns burned onto the surface (see picture).
Tonight we had a large to go order and when we picked it up and brought it home we realized that we were missing a dinner. When I called back to let them know, they asked for my information and they delivered the dinner to us. Not only did we all have a delicious meal, but we were beyond impressed by this customer service.
Take-out dinner was top notch and a fine substitute for not being able to dine in. The meat portion was wonderfully enormous and delicious. Pricing is fair. Staff is easygoing. What's not to like!
This restaurant is fantastic! The food is always amazing and the staff are polite and attentive! The owner, Mike is the salt of the earth and would give you the shirt off his back. Definitely recommend and will return. And if you want the best corn beef you have ever had, go there tomorrow, 03-14-25! If you read the poorly written, almost illegible review from the “Chad” Robert Durham, please ignore it. It speaks for itself!
Delicious food, can’t wait to be back!
I had the Chorizo and eggs. The green chilies on top brought back fond memories of visits to New Mexico, where almost everything has green chilies. It was the best breakfast I have had in a long time. If you like it spicy, where it adds to the food, not overpowers it, this is the dish for you.
I would highly recommend Dugan's County Grill for a good down home meal and gathering in their new banquent room. We recently had a Holiday party there and I cannot thank Mike and his team enough for the hospitality, food and service we received. For good food and great service always. THERE IS IS NOT ENOUGH OF THESE KIND OF BUSINESSES OUT THERE. Thank you Mike and your team for a truly great experience. Cindy
Best NY Steak!! Amazing food and people.
We take a vacation to central New York yearly and I make it a point to have breakfast at least once each time. Top notch establishment. Try it I think you'll love it also.
I went here for my birthday breakfast. I love their blueberry pancakes. They are the size of the plate! My husband had the eggs over and toast. The eggs were cooked the way he ordered it. But the toast was a little too light. The waitress offered to get him another order but he said it's not necessary. But she took it off our bill. The atmosphere is usually busy but I think we came after the morning rush. We love the place. We have brought friends and family here as well.
My husband and I stopped at Dugan's yesterday to grab a quick bite before we needed to head out for home -- I was starving and wasn't sure what to expect, but the reviews were overwhelmingly positive. The food was AMAZING! The place was a little quiet (which was perfect for us, honestly), being earlier on a Monday, but the staff was so welcoming and friendly. We got the loaded tater tots as an appetizer and WOW, they were sooooo good! I'm mad we don't live closer or this would be a staple in my random cravings diet, haha. Highly suggest ordering it with a side of sour cream for the ultimate tot experience. I also ordered the crispy buffalo chicken quesadilla and being from Buffalo, it was honestly just as good as the one from Duff's! If we're ever back in the area, I will definitely be stopping by again. But such a great experience there -- can't say enough about the staff (who were friendly, attentive, and very kind), and the food, which was exactly what we needed -- delicious comfort-food that just hit the spot!
Love eating here! Staff is friendly, place is clean, and the food is home made delicious! If it is busy, it may take a while to get the food, but it is worth it. Plenty of interesting variety in the menu for a diner type place. The pictures on the wall are of local farms. If the owner is there, he'll always say hi.
Waitresses and bar server were very friendly and helpful as we were there for a family gathering with friends after the death of my brother. The food was tasty and plentiful and if you needed something you didn't see the staff was right there to help you. I would highly recommend this as a stop for any meal as I have tasted items off the menu as well.
My wife loves the Hang-over Helper (even though she's not hungover) and I love the Plower with a Cat Nap, both great breakfast/brunch choices! Friendly staff and clean restaurant with nice rural atmosphere. Prices are right especially for the amount of food received.
Another surprise for a good eating place. Generous servings. This is a gem. We were going out for brunch and my son got the name of the place from a golfing buddy who was out looking for some property. This definitely will be one of those places to go back to, now that we know where it is.
We stopped in for breakfast on a Friday morning. Great, friendly service, ample portions. The owner even came out to talk to us because my husband had a question about the beautiful pine tables there. I'm definitely planning another trip there with a friend, soon.
So fortunate to have such a great restaurant in a rural community. The chef is top notch with many years of experience who consistently puts out delicious meals for the masses. The waitstaff are friendly and attentive even when it's busy. Dugans is our go to spot for breakfast on Saturday mornings but they also have really great lunches and dinners as well.
Similar to a couple of other reviews, we were at the wonderful Inn at Aurora -- the breakfasts there are probably great, but I'll never know -- it was Dugan's for me every morning. The perfect diner experience -- real diner menu, prepared to restaurant quality standards. Service simply couldn't have been more friendly. This place will stick in your memory.
My new favorite breakfast place. There are so many options and they make them RIGHT. And for anyone who cares about such things, the bathroom is clean!
Michelle was the best server I have ever had!! She was fast, attentive, and caring and you’d be a fool to ever let her go!! She deserves a raise and so much more. She’s the ONLY reason I would come back.
Known the owners for years and never had went until today, I was extremely satisfied and so wasn't the wife. Got alot of food for $26 . Getting the food was a little slow but they were very busy and it was all homemade. So would expect a little time. No complaints highly recommended.
This place is great! We went on a Sunday morning at 9 and 6 of us were able to pick our own seat as soon as we walked in. The staff is great and very attentive. My coffee never got below half cup before someone was coming around to refill it. The food was great as well as the prices. We'll be going back again!
Great place love the food great service even when they are super packed the waitresses are kind and apologetic for any delays but trust me the pancakes are great and I have never had a bad meal and they support local emergency services and we eat there alot so viking medic approved !!!
Fantastic food, so perfectly prepared with great service. We were visiting Aurora and were staying at the Inn’s of Aurora, but had difficulty finding good food. We searched for some good restaurants and found Dugans. Wow, we were so thrilled with the food, we went back two days in a row! Don’t miss out if you are in the area, go to Dugans for the best food around.
SO pleasantly surprised with this place! Kind of in the middle of farmland, so we weren't sure what to expect. Very friendly staff, VERY quick service, fair prices, and delicious food! Bathrooms super clean on the side of a spacious event room. Will definitely be back if in the area!
Amazing !! Pleased beyond other food & restaurants that are so called high end! There is no comparison to the great tasting food that Dugan prepares & serves their customers. The price is Great , the food is Excellent, the service is always to please their customers. It is a Country Dinner but offers the highest quality ! God bless this wonderful place to go out & dine with friends & loved ones. Much SUCCESS to a a happy place to dine out ! You deserve the best recommendations & high honor for caring to offer such quality to all of your satisfied customers. Keep it going!!
I can't recommend Dugans Country Grill enough! Not only do they serve a delicious breakfast (everything cooked perfectly and came out fresh), but they also go above and beyond for the community. Last year, when I was organizing a benefit for a friend's daughter, they generously provided meat to help support the event. Their kindness and quality food make them a standout in the area.
The owner/ man, that I think runs the place, is always nice to us. When we have seen him here he is quick to make eye contact, let us know he is there if we need anything and he will ask us how it’s going. That is what makes it a place we like to come, also that they support local places, egg are from near by and the omelets and food is the best within 30 miles any direction MINUS THE BACON… no one likes bacon like that. (Photo) but my standards are high being a traveler that just so happens to live here, NY people don’t have hospitality like anywhere, but some of the ladies here aren’t good service 🥴 sorry They are back open and fully functioning inside, it’s locally owned and you are supporting the people around here… always a bonus. I love the wall decorations, it looks really nice. The tables have been my favorite and I love that they are from someone local. They do have GF bread! Thank you. I like the place, the service is typical Ny service and not great, before the fire I had a couple times the service was friendly but couple these ladies have no service skills, please don’t ever assume change it yours and drop the grouchy lady act. That’s not why I eat out rather than just cooking at home. Hope this helps. 😝 I wish they had milkshakes, but they are kind of a pain so I don’t expect it. But I’d buy one every-time if you had one. I’d recommend eating and supporting here.
Great service, food, and location. We love to go there and get a home cooked meal
Good food, and a good greasy spoon. Definitely diner food, but the atmosphere is fun, with engraved tables. Tasty and fairly inexpensive, especially considering the amount of food you get.
Good food and great staff. Located directly in the middle of nowhere sadly though. The exterior of the building is quite deceiving but don’t let it stop you from trying out some great food!
Place was empty when hubby and I first got there but after a few minutes others came in. Placed order for 2 THE DIFIBULATOR (Double bacon cheeseburger with a fried egg, lettuce, tomatoes, and mayo on sourdough toast) meals. Waitresses were friendly. The large size of food portions was a great value for the price.
Had the $10 lunch special, roast beef dinner. Perfect mashed potatoes, sliced , a bit dry beef lots of gravy good squash. Nice new place, remote but worth the drive.
Best small town hidden gem in the area. Dungans serves great country home cooked food all day; breakfast (biscuits n gravy & pancakes are the best), lunch (southwest melt is great), and dinner (steaks are the way to go). Portions are generous and flavorful. A note: some breakfast items are extra greasy and may upset some stomachs. Staff is always friendly and cheerful. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Food was a little slow coming but it was very good with ample portions. There was a bin of coleslaw sitting out with no lid and flies were on it. There is only one bathroom.
Food is great. But the service is slow. We went there for Thanksgiving and had reservations. We had to wait over an hour for our food. To go orders were filled before seated guests. They were definitely understaffed. It was not planned very well. The turkey was exceptional.
Waitress laughed at me when I asked to use their restroom and I overheard her roasting me to another table. The owner cussed out my partner for asking about the drink selection. Maybe this is standard behavior with their often-returning customers, but to new customers it's just weird. Belongs in sitcoms, not real life...I’m not a sensitive person by any means but why mess with a new patron? Food was delicious but took waaaay too long to arrive. All in all just a strange experience.
I ordered sausage, biscuits, and gravy. The biscuits were doughy; not fully cooked. There wasn't much sausage. The gravy was great. The waitress should have asked me how my meal was and did not. I will NOT return.
The waitresses all seem overwhelmed and dont always acknowledge customers that are waiting. Also when we have ordered to go, they never seem to get it right. Hoping this place gets back to where it used to be. We did love going here.
They were semi busy but myself and one other person should not have waited 45 plus minutes for sausage gravy (which was just ok) over biscuits with homefries. The biscuits however were fenominal! And cornbeef has toast and over easy eggs. Plus my hash was burnt
Good food and good service. Poor computation of the bill. They corrected the bill, but left me with a mess with my card. Very frustrated with their attitude and my having to straighten everything out with the bank.
Stopped today for breakfast and saw it had good reviews. Can’t say we will return though. While the waitresses are awesome the kitchen staff leaves much to be desired. Before ordering we witnessed a kitchen staff member sticking his finger in someones food to test the food temperature. While ordering my wife had asked if the tortillas were gluten free…simple easy question and the chef replied “i would have no f’ing idea”. Well its your kitchen and thats your job so you should know what your serving or be able to read a package. And all while waiting for our food we witnessed multiple kitchen staff members use bare hands to reposition, plate, and handle food. No gloves and rubbing their noses. Not a care in the world. The two stars go out to the wait staff and the good coffee. They have an interesting menu but if you don’t want to get sick maybe seek out another option.
Kinda like eating in a garage. Total hick place void of any imagination or uniqueness. EVERYTHING IS ON THE CHEEP. Folding tables with the most uncomfortable folding chairs. Had the fish dinner, $11 bucks, it wasn't worst fish I have had but the portions where small. Service was inconstant and the waitress never came back after we where served and the check took FOREVER! Avoid this place. UPDATE 6/16/12. Figured I would give them another chance on breakfast. Just as bad. $9.78 + tip, for two eggs, corn beef hash, toast and coffee. Small eggs, super thin toast which was stale, same lousy service, small portions. Waitress was too busy chatting up the regulars to fill my coffee or check to see how everything was. I WILL NEVER BE BACK, YOU HAD YOUR CHANCE!!
The food was very good but the service was terrible. Nobody checked to see how our meal was or if we needed anything else. When our meal was brought to us I asked for some extra napkins which weren't brought to us until we asked a different waitress that was walking by us for some more of them. All in all we wouldn't recommend this establishment.
Walking in as a first timer is was an interesting experience, there were no signs on if you seat yourself or wait to be seated eventually we sat ourselves after a few minutes of just standing at the entrance. Once we were sat we waited another 10 minutes before we even got our menus and they were brought to us by a customer sitting at the bar. The waitress came to take our drink orders after 15 minutes and then did come and get our food orders quite quickly. We waited 30-45 minutes for food and no one checked in on us in the meantime and no drinks were refilled. Overall the food wasn’t bad but definitely would not come again. The waitress was nice but was the only waitress with only one kitchen staff. They need more staff.
Service was horrible. Seemed like everyone was hoping someone else would do there job.15 minutes before we got menu's. Then another 10 before someone came to ask for our drink order. We did not let them leave without taking our entire order. Then our food sat up on the counter to the kitchen for a good amount of time. Wife had to say to someone, I think that is our order sitting up there. We both ordered the NY Strip Steak's. Wife ordered Medium well, and it was cooked to that. I ordered Medium, and it came out Rare. I certainly was not sending it back, after the issues of getting it to start. I also think that is why this steak was pretty tough.
We really did have high hopes for this place. Starting off, walking in it is a beautiful little place with lots of seating decorated nicely. The service was good, we ordered fast and drinks came out quick. I ordered a diet which tasted awful and after looking at the can it expired 7 months ago (Sept 2024). My boyfriend ordered a sweet tea which wasn’t good, he actually had to taste my son’s apple juice to make sure the drinks weren’t mixed up. The food took longer than we expected to come out being as there was only one other family there besides us. I ordered a burger that was insanely greasy, although the patty was seasoned well. It definitely wasn’t worth the $18 it cost imo. The DCG plate was okay although it wasn’t as good as the reviews claimed. When the bill came, the total was $50.06, but when they brought the card and signature copy back, the bill had went up to $52.06 and there were fees that didn’t make sense such as an “unauthorized fee” for $2. Each copy of the bill said a different amount. We were so disappointed by the experience that we just paid and left. Unfortunately that was our first and definitely last time dining here. Sad to us because it is close to home and we really wanted to love it!
Very disappointed in the breakfast I was served. The plate had enough grease for 5 plates, which made everything soggy and gross. Wouldn’t recommend based off this first experience.
Will never return. Servers very inefficient. Had to go to counter for coffee refills. Food was lukewarm, husband ordered a special, got eggs and sausage never got the French toast.
Service was very slow, thw waitress acctually smelled our drinks to tell them apart litterally held our cups to her nose. Food was sup par Very disappointing as this is a place close to my child's collage
Hadn't been here in a long time, and I won't be back. I know it's a country restaurant, farmers frequent there. It needs to be upgraded. The bathroom is horrible. Not sure how it passes food inspections. Yuck! Floors, ceilings, walls....nasty. Breakfast wasn't great, couldn't seem to get refills on coffee and really not that cheap.
Not busy, got breakfast after over an hour of being told the order was coming up shortly. They finally admitted they forgot to put the order in. A few minutes (less than 5) after being served the waitress asked if we wanted take out containers because they were closing. Asked the person at the bar if this was normal behavior and she made an off excuse about poor help. Paid the 40.00 for my barely touched breakfast and left. Completely disgusted and will not be back.
This is the second time here and not good food. There was 3 of us and all three orders were wrong. I got turkey fries with gravy and it had no gravy on fries and bread was soggy before I even got it. Would never have even served it as a waitress if it came out to me that way. Other ordered we asked for only mushrooms on it and got peppers and onions. Third order was a burger that was so burnt and dry and never got gravy for fries. The waitress never once came over to see how our food was I had to call her over and tell her I didn’t want my food but still was charged for it. I will NEVER go back again. They lost my business and I’m local. Bad food and bad service!
Food not that great. Portion sizes small for price. There were 4 of us and none of us really cared for our food.
