Opiniones de Oma's Kitchen Austin
Tucked away in the corner of a food court that’s one step away from barren, Oma’s Kitchen waits like a little gem emitting neon green light and, paradoxically, comfort. The server was warm just like the chef, an older Korean woman. Their conversation peppered my solo meal, and even if I couldn’t understand them, it felt like a slice of home. The kimbap, too, was wonderful: crunchy pickled radish and veg (+ pickled ginger, my fav), subtle soft tofu, rice seasoned with a hint of sesame oil, wrapped tight in seaweed without skimping on anything. In fact, got two whole meals outta one order. I’ll absolutely be stopping by Oma’s little food court gem again.
It’s hard to find a hot meal around campus that is affordable… but not at Oma’s! I’ve been coming here since I was a kid, and I love getting their tofu bibimbap, which is vegan if you get no egg. And, you get free banchan! I love supporting an old school Korean business and am glad they’re still here after all these years.
I’ve been here many times and it always hits. I usually get kimchi jjigae and beef kimbap. Tofu kimbap is also good especially if you’re vegetarian. The seolleongtang is alright, it’s good soup though. Most of these dishes come with a bowl of rice and banchan. I think it is worth the money, not too expensive! I would come here everyday if I could. Edit: I get the spicy kimchi pork with 2 eggrolls most of the time now and it's sooo good.
Moms (omas) kitchen is like this secret gem in austin , serving some amazing korean eats. The flavor is here, and yes it does remind me of some of moms home cooking. Straight up bussin'.
Everything is so good! It’s the best! If I come to Austin again I will go here! It’s too good!!
Oma's is located in a food court of a mixed use building with a Target store at the bottom. I ordered the Kimbap with a side of kimchee. Veryfresh! The roll wasn't made until I ordered. Everything was delicious!
Got ~$10 and want to eat plenty and still leave a tip? Healthy, delicious, cheap, 1 hour of free parking and grade A service? Korean fast home cookin', don't expect a Korean bbq table like most reviewers here. :v Want fresh food, order from the board not the lunch special section. Get the pork bulgogi (#3) or you're messing up! Peace! :v
Good restaurant in dobie food court. Dishes are well made and healthy. Dishes are good size portion for 1 and also cheap. Pork bulgogi and ribs are very juicy and tender. Food comes out fast so this is a good place for a quick meal. Probably the best restaurant on guad near campus.
The cashier and the owners are very kind! Food is very straightforward. The soondubu-jjigae with beef was very reminiscent of home food, it was flavorful and perfectly seasoned. The price was fair and the quantity was perfect for a filling meal! It was about $11.85 I believe with tax. The photo of the meal does not do the food justice, it tastes great I promise! Note: They do not take Bevo even though currently it says on the Bevo merchant site that they do
Got the Jajang-myun(their menu name)/black bean noodles. The portion size was generous and it had plenty of onions/daikon/zucchini, noodles, and pork. Very warm and comforting food. Came with a side of rice, pickled veggie, and bean sprouts. It all came out to about 12 bucks, no drink. Will definitely come back and try out the rest of the menu! I was so hungry I didn’t take a before picture…
A saving grace! Taste so good at such a great price too. I bought the beef bulgogi and you will get tons of rice, beef, and side dishes🤩 totally worth it and will come back trying out the others Also bought kimbab to take home hehe
Owners are super sweet! The foods are great! Always come here during lunch time and never regret their foods.. should give this one a try and you’ll come again for their delicious home comfort style foods❤️

Ordered: kimchi fried rice, yugijang This mom and pop shop is great, the family is so friendly, and food taste great. I support these restaurants over chain any day. I never seen Korean restaurant inside a food court so this was something new.
This place is the best! Really quick, tasty and inexpensive food and the owners are so lovely! Definitely try it out
Really good Korean food! The beef bulgogi is super delicious and honestly tastes just like mom’s cooking (I’m Korean). The people there are really nice and welcoming. Definitely recommend if you want Korean food around this area.
I’m so glad I found this place, it literally made my day and I will for sure be back. Everything tasted authentic and like what I’d expect my mom would cook for me if I were Korean. I had the kimbap and jap chae bop, both excellent and good portions too.
A hidden gem for Korean comfort food in Austin. I got the spicy rice cakes and it’s the best I’ve had in Austin. Definitely try this place and support your local business!
I come to Austin every couple of years for work conferences and I've been here every time. I've liked everything I've had so far but kimbap has been my favorite. I love this place and look forward to coming every time I'm in town.
Had a great lunch special today! Will definitely be coming back.

I never write reviews but I want to support this business in every way I can since I’m moving away. A true gem of UT. My favorite place to grab a quick lunch. The food is delicious; I always get the #3 pork bulgogi. The owner is the kindest man. I don’t speak Korean but even so he never fails to greet me and make me feel so appreciated. He even noticed when I got engaged. So many friends and coworkers didn’t even notice. I will miss this place so much. If you’re coming to UT please take care of this place on my behalf!
Little mom-and-pop inside a food court, so don’t expect anything fancy. Cheap and delicious. Got the bibimbap and comes with a side of pickled veggies. Not sure if the building it’s in is being renovated or if it’s on the verge of closing down given the lack of shops/food stalls at the time of my visit.

it’s pretty standard, good when you are craving korean food. i love the people who work here though
Cashier was yelling on the phone while trying to take my order. Food was somewhat cold even though we dined in and food was bland. Ordered the Korean ribs and normally they are cooked with a glaze that’s sweet and Smokey. They should also fall off the bone. Unfortunately this didn’t satisfy that craving. The ribs were chewy and didn’t offer much meat.

The fried fish was good, however I am giving 2 stars because the fish guts were not taken out of the fish. Consuming fish guts can be dangerous as you might be exposed to mercury and parasites. If you come to Oma's I recommend to not order the fried fish.
When I was looking for a place for lunch I found Oma’s Kitchen on Google Map with a very good rating so I went. To my surprise it was in a food court. Since it was raining outside I decided to give it a try. I ordered a rice with two items, glass noodles and kimchi port. I didn’t get any pork and it was very salty. And by next day I had diarrhea.
