This is a fantastic find in South Austin!! They mean it when they say it's how South Austin used to be. The parking lot was a little sketchy and the place looks rough but charming. Truly some of the best Mexican food and salsa I've had in a while at any place for a not unreasonable price. Service is amazing. Staff is awesome. Highly recommend please support a small business in South Austin so they stick around!!

The food is delicious here, reminds me of home “California” 🇺🇸 🇲🇽🐻 the puerco pipian is a traditional dish I had growing up ,very close to home 🌶️

Wowzers is this place good! Had the Cochinita Pibil w/ a side of mole. Everything was great—the pork, the rice, the plantains. The mole was some of the best I’ve ever had. Their 1816 margarita was divine. Their salsa is beyond what you’d expect. And the flan….what a way to end the meal. On top of this, every dish is about $15. If you want Mexican in Austin, this is a no-brainer.

Always a great meal at Sazon! Love all of their enchilada options and it always feels like home when we walk in the door. Stopped in today (Valentine’s Day) and enjoyed their special holiday strawberry margaritas. Now I have to decide which enchiladas I want today. The verde, pipian or mole. Can’t go wrong!

This is a genuine local hole in the wall. They don't get a lot of business so if you happen to come and it's a little more crowded, be patient with the one waitress taking care of everybody. The food was great. The portions were very appropriate for the price. I also love that they have a patio that you can take your dogs onto.

We live in the Zilker neighborhood and this place does not get the attention it deserves. The food, drinks, and staff are top notch. Definitely try the Puerco en Chili Colorado (pictured here). Both Moles are awesome as well. Also get the signature 1816 marg!

My friend and I stopped in after spending some time at Barton, as soon as we came in we were greeted very warmly and I knew we picked the right place. It didn’t end there, we ordered the enchiladas and taco plates and they were amazing, we felt right at home here. Perfect for a night out or a nice bite to eat!

Sazon is definitely a favorite! Comfortable Latin decor, delicious food and friendly service creates a pleasant dining experience. Traditional Mexican dishes and Central American dishes. Pay a visit here for breakfast, lunch or dinner. You won’t be disappointed. Excellent bar, covered patio. Parking.

Old school Tex-mex… This is classic Austin Texas-mex, the interior is pretty much what it used to be back when, as is the menu, and quite probably the prices too. Nothing that’ll blow you away, but all happily satisfying.

I came here with a big group of friends for a birthday dinner, a few of them were hyping up the food and I ended up very underwhelmed. My frozen coconut Margarita was the best part of my meal and was actually really good! I ordered the chicken flautas(one of my favorite dishes) and it was very dry and bland , even with the sauce and extra garnish on top. Out of 9 people, there were 4 who felt the exact same way. Regardless, the staff were amazing and very accommodating. I would definitely stop back in for a round of margaritas, but that’s about it.

I’m new to town & parked here while I was going to pick up a coffee next door (was going to be like 2 seconds) and as soon as I got out, a white man with white hair yelled at me that I can’t park here. Which is fine, I get it. But he could’ve been way nicer. The way this place is consistently empty - they’d probably have more customers if the people working here were nicer. This place WAS on my list to try since I’m new here - but now I have zero interest. This isn’t the first time I heard of rude people at this location either. 😇
