I saw the most beautiful girl today, her voice and her smile made my day! She’s super friendly, helped me with my order very detailed and has the best customer service I’ve ever seen!!! she definitely deserves a raise , I didn’t get her name but she wore a grey beanie and had green nails. 5 Stars!!!!
The kolaches have like this crazy good breading. Idk if it's buttery or salted. But it's so good. Just wish it was closer to my house! Every time I pass it, I have to stop in. Yum.
Staff is so friendly, Love coming to this place.
Okokok so I went to Shipley's on 290 and was disgusted by the fact that oil dripped out of our mouths when we bit in to our donuts, they even tasted like medicine. With that, I thought I'd never eat Shipley's again. BUT THEN!!! Yesterday I passed the william cannon location and thought wth, let me try. Why? Because they're my ALL TIME FAVORITE DONUT😭 This location will NOT disappoint. Well, a little. If your favorite donut is the devil's food, (dare devil, as I call it) go early because they run out of those, early. They had the chocolate filling regular glaze and it was perfection in our 👄. Yumyumyumyum the dough was soft, warm, and, and, and just beautifully freaking perfectly deeeeeelicious! ❤️ Thank you for restoring the faith William Cannon location. Your staff is awesome as well by the way
Super sweet friendly people here every time I come 💚
My 5 stars are 100% for the staff. Everytime I go through this drive through they are so polite and friendly. The doughnuts are shipleys, you know what to expect and they deliver. Nothing more nothing less. An off menu secret is they can flavor your coffee and it's my favorite flavored iced coffee on William cannon. I have also experienced the closed thing but I'm guessing that is just a small business experiencing life. There are several places down the street people!
Great food and great service! Will definitely come back!
A wonderful experience. Great tasting donuts and kolaches, kind-hearted and knowledgeable staff, and quite easy to get to.
I love me some Shipleys! But this location might be THE BEST. The staff is super friendly and kind. I appreciate great customer service in a society where people are such jerks to people that work in the service industry. The doughnuts are delicious and fresh. Highly recommend!! (And how cute is that mural?!)
Good donuts always fresh pricey but worth every penny... Mmm....
I am changing my review after having a few good experiences in a row here. The worker who presently runs the drive thru brightens my day and I think really creates a positive impact.
I just love this place and I don’t like donut shops. This is about a 10 minute walk from my house and whenever I really really need to give my wife a break from the boys I load him up in the stroller and we walk through the drive-through every time all the employees are so happy to see my boy and I’ve had several really really good positive experiences here with the staff, the donuts themselves are really good and like I said, I don’t really even like donuts. I almost always get the simple glaze and my boy gets whatever is the most pink. I do recommend if you like donuts or if you’re just looking for a little gift to give a friend on a special occasion.
Really great donuts and koleches from a locally-owned business. Highly recommended.
Always the freshest and prompt friendly service. The place to start your day!
Denica was able to help me with a donation for teacher appreciation week at my school. This location was able to donate 4 dozen donuts and 2 dozen kolaches! I wouldn’t have been able to throw my event without their donation. They were ready on time and had great costumer service.
They just opened not fully staffed but give great service prices are fair location is good
What you expect. Consistently better quality than the one down the road. Friendly staff!
The manager is amazing and her team is always so quick and cheerful! My kiddos love the donut holes! Def going back!
I love this location so much. All the staff I've interacted with is so sweet and helpful and I like starting my morning chatting and laughing with them. The donuts and kolaches are affordable and tasty obviously, but the staff is why I keep coming to this location in particular. 💖
This morning was our first time trying Shipley’s and I believe I interacted with the manager, but he was very nice and helped make sure my kids got the doughnuts they wanted. The doughnuts were delicious too! Definitely be back.
Last stop on the way out of Austin in the morning and loved the range of choices available at Shipley's. It was an impromptu visit drawn in by the promise of delicious donuts, and they did not disappoint with the chocolate and creme filling. The hardest part was just trying to decide... And trying to not dig into this extra apple fritter I bought for later.
Love their donuts. Glad we have a location close to us now
What a wonderful experience! This place has a wonderful staff including the young girl Gabby and Heaven. Always smiling and even trying to help out as much as they can. Thank you all for this wonderful experience. And the laughs 😅 I'll be sure to let everyone know about this spot here!!
The staff is so nice here and they always have donuts unlike donut taco palace.
Just ordered for delivery and donuts, kolaches and cold brew were all delicious!
Went today for the grand opening was super nice The manager of the store gave me the best donut I’ve had there since they opened thank you very much
First and foremost, I want to highlight the exceptional service provided by Christina, the manager. She consistently goes above and beyond to ensure that each customer receives personalized and attentive care. Her leadership is reflected in the positive energy and professionalism of her team—especially Heaven, Alma, and several other outstanding employees. Every time I stop by to enjoy a donut, I’m warmly greeted by these ladies. Our small chats make me feel like I’m visiting a family-run business—their camaraderie and teamwork are truly impressive. The store is always spotless, and the staff greets everyone with a genuine smile. Without a doubt, this experience surpasses anything I’ve had at Krispy Kreme. Thank you all once again! Warm regards, Lisa Ross
It's always such a pleasure visiting this location just because of the staff! They're always in such a good mood and makes it a great experience ❤️
Get the Apple Fritters immediately. They are huge. And they taste great.
We heard about Shipley's, so had to make a stop when we came to Austin. They have a ton of donuts and it was hard to decide on just a dozen! They were super friendly and helpful, and most of all patient. The donuts were fabulous and some of the best filled I've ever had!
Gabby was super friendly, was easily a perfect end of the day grabbing some donuts here, she was all smiles and extremely genuine! I'll come back just to say hello and grab some breakfast for sure!
My favorite place ever. Mark was sooooooo helpful and kind today! People like Mark bring light to this world!
Great friendly service every time! One time I bought 8 donuts and then I realized I missed the one I really wanted but that was enough so I paid and walked out and the manager came out and of the shop to bring me the one I wanted to try… devils food is the bestest!! Now I get one every time I go there and they got a client for life
The staff here is so kind and fast! No wonder there's always a line. I know this is a chain but the customer service is outstanding. Keep doing what you're doing! Also, dang good donuts!
Always delicious! Fast & friendly service too!

First time here at the Lakeway shop, and the donuts were delicious and reasonably priced, which is nice!
Fast and courteous.I went through the drive through today and the donuts I got was fresh and hot very satisfying the best I've had in a long time.
Love these guys they are so sweet 🎂 best donuts around
Love this location! I literally skip the location on Brodie and come straight here. This location has the friendliest staff and they are always happy to help. I definitely see the difference in this location. Thank you!
Stopped after work to get a blueberry donut. The staff were so sweet and helpful. Great staff! That is what the world needs today!!! Thank you!!! 8/29/25 12:30 pm
Shipley Always Have And Always Will Be My Favorite Doughnuts! The Best Doughnuts On The Planet!
Such great customer service especially at 6:30am! Made my day :)

Very nice people and very delicious donuts and kolaches
Customer service was great in the drive through . Went on 12/12/2021
The cream-filled maple log was not very cream filled unfortunately. But the cream-filled donuts were good.
My niece recommended this place for a donut and a kolache. Shipley's didn't disappoint. The light airy texture of the yeast raised doughnuts is a nearly perfect balance of chewiness and softness, with no hint of dense or heavy. The kolaches were flavorful and oh so bad for you good. I definitely recommend trying this place out if you've never had a Shipley's doughnut.
Good doughnut selection.
Donuts always great. Gave 4 stars because they should wear beard and hair nets.
I like Shipleys better than Krispy Kreme & I' m happy this location opened and is much nearer to me.
Cinnamon roll and coffee! It was great and the people are so nice here!
Quick service. Would be nice if they bring back just the cinnamon donuts rather than the sugar-laden cinnamon donuts.
I don’t care that they close at 1pm but I care that this says 8pm on here and the door says 3pm. Please update your information so people aren’t misinformed.
I enjoy coming here but I hate the fact that Everytime I do, they ask for a tip through the drive through. Not once in a while, but Everytime.
Good customer service, but River City donuts who were there previously were actually way better.
I'll start with they're always friendly. However, that question about asking if we'd like to give a tip to the team is a bit tacky. Are we asked that at the local Golden Arches? Or big chain coffee shop? Not to mention, the kolaches are mostly bread with a little sausage. Today's order was likely the last I'll get there. The kolache was mostly dry bread and barely warm. It's a bummer it's mediocre because the location just a few minutes away never fails.
Food was good only issue is that they forgot to give us another donut we ordered.
We order donuts and kolaches once a week. We never know what we’re going to get. Sometimes our kolaches are great, bread is soft, cheese is melty, and often times, our kolaches have burnt bread, burnt sausage, and dry with almost no cheese. They added apple fritter donut holes recently, and today with our hard, burnt kolaches, we received a whole apple fritter cut into a bunch of pieces instead of the apple fritter donut holes. This location is regularly out of menu options as well. Super disappointing. All they really need is consistency.
While I don't have anything necessarily negative to say about the food, I will say it is VERY awkward to be asked to leave a tip every single time, especially on a $2 donut order. Everytime I go through the drive-thru, they asked me if I want to leave a tip. I'm sorry, but I'm not going to leave a $5 tip for $2 worth of donuts. And one time when I said no to the tip on the card but handed them $0.50 cents in change instead, they rolled their eyes and made ME feel like crap. I gave them a 25% tip and only after they asked me. - that's more than I tip at an actual restaurant. It puts me in a very awkward position and makes me not want to come to this location. It's the ONLY shipley's Donuts that has ever done this to me. In fact, this is the only donut place I've ever been to that has ever asked about a tip. What's next? Will the McDonald's cashier start asking for a tip when I order coffee? Or the gas attendant when I put $5 of gas in? I can understand if it was a $100 rush order or I was picking up 6 dozen donuts on short notice, but not $2 worth of donuts in drive-thru. They really shouldn't be asking. Very inappropriate. Speaking of drive-thrus, if you value your car or its wheels, do NOT go through the drive-thru. GO INSIDE. There is a pothole the size of a Harlem Globetrotter in the middle of the lane that is impossible to miss. They have tried to fill it with rocks and gravel, but sadly it doesn't do anything to help as they always get kicked out of the hole. Perhaps they should use the 250% tips they guilt people into paying and fix the hole properly...
Went by twice in afternoon and they were out of regular glazed donuts, so go early. They currently only have drive through and you cannot see available selections so that makes ordering difficult. The staff are very friendly. Donuts are good but a little on the heavy side. The Donut holes were lighter and better than the whole.

I was shocked to see employees, making donuts with bare hands and no gloves!
As a Houston native I was really excited to have Shipley’s nearby! Unfortunately I was very disappointed with the quality of the kolaches; the dough was old and they sausage was tiny. Not what I’m used to
This place is fine. It works for the convenience of the location if you’re craving Shipleys but it’s definitely overpriced and quality isn’t as good compared to the other locations I’ve been to here and around Texas and Louisiana. Like others, I’ve also had issues at the register when paying where I was given the wrong total or ended up almost paying someone else’s bill because either the person didn’t understand the register setup or they weren’t paying attention, but that was mostly when they first opened (even though I can’t say I’ve been as regularly since because it’s really not a great location unfortunately.) My order is pretty easy, usually just get a glazed donut and (learned the hard way) a shipleys sausage kolache - which, I’ve never had to ask for that anywhere else but their regular cheap kolaches are like small pig in a blanket, so if you’re used to amazing shipleys kolaches, go for the sausage one which will be more like the ones you might get anywhere else. However, the kolaches here are usually overcooked and burnt so really not worth the price. The regular glazed donut I’ve never had a problem with though. Like I said, this location is fine, but like many who have already reviewed, it’s not as good as other Shipleys locations I’ve visited and therefore felt like a letdown when it opened. But if you can pay the up charge it’s not horrible.
The food is great. I’m leaving 2 stars because they asked me at the drive through window if I’d like to leave a tip. Sigh, sure. I say, “Throw an extra dollar on there”. They put $2 tip on my receipt. Obviously an extra $1 is not a big deal, but it is the principle of the whole thing. Felt very sleazy from the staff, but obviously it would feel petty to ask them to re-ring my order with $1 less on the tip. I feel weird even writing this review, but can’t help but feel played by the staff after this situation.
Two visits: first time the store was closed during posted hours, second I was overcharged according to their drive-thru menu. The first time I went on a Sunday at 4:45pm, and they were closed. They're supposed to be open until 5pm, but being that it was a Sunday I wasn't going to hold this against them too much. But the second time I went I also experienced apparent overcharging just like the two earlier reviews. I pulled up in the drive-thru and looked at the menu, the two Items I wanted were $2.09 each. With tax that should be $4.52. But the guy said $5.00. I said "the menu says $2.09 each, that's $4.18, with tax should be $4.52." The guy said "Yeah our menu is still a little messy". I was like "what does 'messy' mean? The price is clear on the menu." Another guy comes over and repeats that the cost is $5.00. He says that they've "called to get their menu fixed but they haven't done it yet". Didn't matter what I said, he wouldn't come off the $5.00 price. I checked the prices at the other Shipley's on Brodie, and the same items are indeed $2.50 over there-- and have been since mid-2017. So I can't fault them about that. But it seems really stupid that this place is brand-new, yet they installed a five-year-old menu for the drive thru? They aren't even trying to correct the menu themselves by putting handwritten prices on it? And they don't say up-front at the window that the prices on the menu are wrong, and worst of all (this is what I'm giving a poor rating for), don't apologize for the issue, much less offer to honor the price on the menu. It's like the people working there don't have a clue about why customers are confused or what they would expect in this kind of situation. I'm giving them two stars because the apple fritters are pretty tasty and not overly greasy.
I used to love Shipley’s. I grew up going to the one in Garland. I even found one in Centennial, CO when I lived there and it was a life saver. However, since moving here I discovered that the prices have escalated to a reprehensible level. $30 for a box of sausage rolls (kolaches)? I can get the same thing at one of the Korean donut shops for half of that. Donuts were intended to be a cheap quick breakfast. I can buy two plates with drinks at iHop for $30. Fix it or don’t, but don’t send my son home with a “Free Donut” coupon thinking that will boost traffic. It will work once and they won’t be back. It’s a good donut, but it’s not one of a kind.
Donut Fanatic's Honest Take: Skip This Spot for Your Donut Fix I'm always on the hunt for the best fried dough. This place, unfortunately, just didn't hit the mark. I tried a few different kinds, and honestly, none of them were anything to write home about. The blueberry donut was surprisingly hard and practically inedible, which was a real disappointment. I also tried the crème-filled, with a darker-looking dough. It was the best in the box yet still not worth the calories! And the classic glazed? It just lacked that light, airy, melt-in-your-mouth quality you crave in a truly great glazed. I don't want to be overly harsh, and I know Austin is fantastic for so many other culinary delights. But for my fellow donut lovers out there, if you're looking for a memorable donut experience, you might want to try another spot. We had to toss them! 2 stars because I’m sure there is worse somewhere!

Some sketchy stuff going on here. Their plain glazed donuts are priced at $0.85. I purchased 2 of them so adjusted for sales tax that should have came out to $1.84. Somehow I got charged $2.20 lol, i’m not gonna be petty about being charged an extra $0.36 but I see there’s a similar review on here so beware of what they’re charging you on larger orders. I don’t know a single donut shop in America where one little donut is going for $1.10.
Hours and selection are not good. Austin clearly needs Dunkin' Donuts badly.
If i could give this place ZERO stars i would. This morning We went to this location to buy my son and i a donuts and two milk’s. the donuts where great but and the milks. We dropped off our son at school and when we got home i started to eat my donut with milk and noticed it had coagulated chunks inside. We just received a call from my sons school to pick up my son because hes not feeling well and is throwing up. We when called the restaurant. And they said they apologized for the inconvenience and that they would remove the milks that are expired. When my husband asked for a refund for ONLY the milks they stated that cant do that the only thing they can do is remove the milks from the fridge. This is unacceptable. I doo NOT RECOMMEND going to this location.
Not the “Shipley” you’re looking for. I don’t know what’s happening with the quality of Shipley donuts, or if it’s just the ones I’ve tried in the Austin area, but no matter what time I go the glazed donuts are NEVER fresh and taste a day old. I went at 7:30am this morning and was handed a bad of cold glazed donuts and a bag of cold donut holes. Yes… COLD. Not like, they had been sitting to cool off too long but actually cold as if they were waiting in a refrigerator. Didn’t matter anyways because the recipe/cooking method is clearly not the same as the classic Shipley donuts from Houston.
I was excited for doughnuts.... They were not fresh. The order was wrong, and I had to go back to the window. When I did, the cashier was like, "What did we forget?" And then after putting the items forgotten in a box with a few more NOT FRESH doughnuts, she shut the window and disappeared like she had better things to do.
This literally is the worst. First I was so excited for this place to open close to my job breakfast on the go. Nope they always seem to have nothing on the shelf if the doors are open. How do you run out of donuts so early in the morning. I keep giving it a try but honestly I'm paying over 7 dollars for 1 donut 1 chocolate milk and 1 kolache I'm like really. I could get a sausage egg biscuit combo at whataburger for under 6 dollars. Staff in drive thru never seems to get order right. If I want donuts I'll stick to shipleys on brodie or that donut place on congress.
This location is closer to me than the Brodie one, but I am done trying. I have gone there 5-6 times and each time it's a disappointment. Often out of the basics (glazed, chocolate frosted), even early in the morning. This morning was my last visit. I was there at 7:15 a.m. The two donuts I bought both tasted like "day old", dry and hard. Save your $$. South Austin need a Round Rock Donuts!!
Drive-thru hustles you for a tip that you have to verbally decline if you don’t feel you should have to pay extra to be handed the thing you’re already paying for. Is handing me the donut not already included in the listed price? This creates an awkward experience for your employee and the customer.
I went there during their posted store hours and the doors were locked and no one came to the drive thru window.
They listed their hours wrong. I drove a half hour and this location was closed. You can't call the store because it redirects to Corp.
Super disappointed - was trying to get my kids donuts from their favorite place (we usually go to the one on Brodie) before they got home from school but they were closed. Google has them open till 8pm but the sign on the store said they close at 3p!
I have visited this location 4 times and have received the incorrect order 3 of those times. The last visit, after ordering my kolaches, the clerk verified I did not want jalapenos and then gave me kolaches with them anyway. This was not noticeable until I bit into them and since my allotted break time was not over, I'm out 10 bucks and have to go hungry. Will NEVER visit this location again.
Hours are never consistent. It says on the door 5am to 5pm 7 days a week. I got here at 2:11pm and they were closed. Nobody in the store. Same thing with the other one near by. Employees open and close when they feel like it.
Ours are not the same online as they are on the store. This is the second time I’ve came to this location and it has been closed because the hours are not the same. They need to update this because it is a huge inconvenience for the customers.
Surprised by company policy. No public restroom access even though they have public restrooms. They say they don't allow customers to use they restrooms. Makes it a sticky experience IMO
I ordered 6 items. I only received 1 of the items. The 5 items I didn’t receive were replaced by regular cheaper items that I did not like. Two items had ingredients that I’m allergic to. I wasn’t even contacted to make sure this was okay. The box had the message “Some items were replaced thank you! :)”. I also paid delivery and tip for an ordered I never received. In what world would a restaurant receive an order and give a completely different meal and think that’s okay?
Sorry to do this, but every time we come to this location the donuts are old, stale, and cold. We go to the one off Brodie and they are great. Just a shame because this one is so close, but it’s every time we go there the donuts taste horrible. Last time we do it!
Can’t get regular whole milk if you get delivery, will only allow strawberry or chocolate. Super obnoxious problem that they haven’t fixed for a while now
Incredibly rude employee. Scoffed when I asked for one glazed and one unglazed blueberry donuts. I asked if there was a problem. Apparently he couldn’t handle that tiny bit of confrontation that I was reacting to and told me I could leave. I calmly said we (my two children in the back seat) were just trying to get donuts. He closed the window, grabbed the donuts and gave them to me, and then when I tried to chat with him about it he shut the window and refused to open it again. He also got the order wrong.
After order a couple of time and everything time I get sick and then my Friend told me that they use expired eggs, JUST DISGUSTING AND WRING
My Husband and I went thru the drive thru and ordered 2 sausage cheese kolaches and a donut. Somehow that was impossible to get right so our order was wrong. This place needs to hire new staff that is unacceptable. I am only giving one star cause it wont let me post unless I do otherwise I would not give it even one star!
I never found this place open. Never depend on their opening-closing dates. Horrible customer treatment. River Donut was a great shop. Such a pity they had to replace with this 👎🏼🥱
Dear Shipley's I've been a big fan of yours for awhile now I'm so excited that the store at manchaca n William cannon is there... How ever it says your open till 8 pm I'm trying to order 2 dozens of kolaches 2 dozen glazed donuts for a special early birthday today Due to emergency Yet no one will answer the phone I can't come to you due to emergency yet I'm scared to order Because someone said no they close at 1 pm Yet it's different on your website I just need someone answer the phone please I would hate to leave an negative rating It's says we can't answer the phone leave a message I just wanted to make a special day for a special elder Answer your phone or change your hours Sincerely No donuts today I guess
Drive up at 12pm on a Wednesday and they were closed! Went through the drive they twice. No signage, hours posted say 5AM-3PM. Fine if y’all are closed but put a sign up! Ruined my day!
I love Shipleys, probably ate there every. Day in houston. Austin is a different story. 3 dollars for a small kolache and i consistently get dry ones. Im tired of it...
Took one bite of my donut and it tasted stale and hard and just plain wrong, took a look at the bottom and I find what looks like MOLD! My kolache was fine, the other donuts were dry, and I didn’t notice this til after I ate my other items 😩 Update: I called and they tried to claim it was just yeast but it was not on my other 2 donuts and it tasted old and stale
UPDATE 06/04/2024 - DO NOT go to this location, SHIPLEY’S corporate/quality control should shut this location down: THIS IS NOT UP TO SHIPLEYS STANDARDS. Why am I getting cold donuts at 7am?!?! I will never visit this location again. This location used to be another donut shop and it’s clear someone just franchised out a Shipley’s here… this place doesn’t have the things needed to deliver a quality Shipley’s donut experience. ————————————— precious review below ——————————- I grew up on Shipley’s donuts, I love the donuts there. But this location has some issues. I’ve been a few times since this location’s opening and it’s clear this location isn’t being run well. I ordered a mixed dozen box of donuts, and rather than the employee picking donuts out and putting them in a box, she grabbed a premade box from the bottom shelf of the counter. Suspect. I even joked: “Well, how long have they been there?” she didn’t answer, but upon opening the box I can tell that these are leftover yesterday’s donuts or from way earlier this morning. It’s not even the right selection for the mixed dozen. This all happened today, on a Sunday morning at 10 AM. Also, they ran out of coffee and I didn’t have the time to wait for them to brew an entire new pot. It’s a simple product, donuts and coffee, but it’s the little things that matter the most. Fresh coffee, fresh donuts…. Not cold smushed donut holes. Disappointing.
Ordered a larger order for a company meeting. Donuts were fine, but ALL the kolaches (2 dozen) were raw and undercooked. I sent them feedback but never got a message back. I tried to be reasonable and wait few weeks for response but it’s been over a month. Honestly unacceptable as I have my assistant order here once a week for the office.

If you like stale donuts this is your place. I've been here several other times thinking they would improve. Its the same everytime. Just stale/bland donuts
If I could leave, no stars, I would So having to leave town early to go on a trip finally found a donut shop that was open at five So pull up at 5:15 took them over 10 minutes to come to the window Then when they finally come to the window, I tell them what I need for my order they proceed to tell me that none of what I needed is ready because they had to do several big orders. I said I thought you guys open at five and she said yes, but due to having all the big orders that they weren’t able to accommodate anything that I wanted.
Went in as they were closing yesterday. Got charged $4.50 for 3 small plain cake donuts. Couldn’t believe it. Never again. Total scam.
I was extremely upset how my order for my daughter’s birthday went on Saturday…I went into this location on 7/23 and place a special order for a giant donut that pretty much was a dozen donuts in one donut for Saturday 7/26. The manger that took my order told me he would attempt to do it, and if it didn’t turn out he would let me know. Fast forward to Saturday 7/26 I called at 8am because I hadn’t heard from anyone to see when I could pick my order up. The staff that was working had no idea what I was talking about, and the person that took my order was off for the day. They didn’t mute the phone when they called him and I heard the entire conversation that he tried to make it but it fell apart so he didn’t do it. I never received one call or text that they couldn’t fulfill my order. All I was offered was a dozen donuts for my inconvenience. That left my daughter without a cake for her birthday and she was extremely upset. So my husband had to drive 45mins to their competitor to get a large donut cake. I go in this location all the time for donuts and always had a great experience until this past weekend. They left me scrambling the day of my daughter’s birthday.
Supposed to close at 2 on Sunday. Showed up at 1:45pm and it was closed. Update your hours.
